L’audio guide est le meilleur !!!
Not worth it
Horribly organized, which makes it difficult to find the objects you’re looking at. It would be better if it were organized by room rather than world area. It freezes a lot & I had to close and restart the app multiple times. I don’t mind paying for guided audio tours, but this one was not worth it.
Can’t understand the tour guide
We were really looking forward to a live person taking us through the exhibit of Enlightment, but her accented English is impossible to understand!
Quirky dead ends and useless map
Map does not have any labels or a legend. Clicking on some of the guides crashes the app

Excellent guide to highlights
Nice to be able to have an audio guide on your own phone rather than carry a clunky museum device around. All major museums should do this. Happy to pay £6 to support such a colossal institution. In some cases a little more detail would be appreciated, and the museum WiFi definitely needs an upgrade for people who can't download off the mobile network! I could barely get any data (at least in the Egypt area) even when moving around to find a better signal.
Worthless
Utterly dreadful. Impossible to find the displays. The sign age within the museum there's no Help at all and the app simply throws you into a map with no reference points at all. A walking path to find the next display would be helpful
Yeah…
It is a cool app. Not really necessary for your visit but a good app. It works well no ads and no problems. A bit expensive for an audioguide to look at stolen things.
Spontaneous closure
App would close on trying to listen to some of the item descriptions.
Slow, slow, slow…
The app has nice pictures and the £6/$8 to unlock the full content is quite reasonable. Unfortunately, the app is VERY slow. The developers, however, need to increase their server count/budget to reduce latency on the back end. As it stands (June, 2025), the app is very laggy.

A must have audio tour App to learn the so many wonderful treasures in the museum.

Good but…
Working well so far. But it’s incomplete and could be better. New exhibitions are not added and a lot of audio points are not per of this. So it’s not possible to see a headphone sign and plug in the number (frequently it will not be in this). So you’ve got to follow this tour in sequence.
Needs improvement
Audio descriptions are too short and only brush the surface of the items. More detailed backgrounds and descriptions would be better and more informative. UI is poor and clunky, with no ease of flow for app navigation.
It very poolyvdone app
There are only available tours. You can’t find details of the objects based on the number given in display with audio sign. The staff’s expiation is that app not fully functioning yet..
Very useful
The Museum is huge and I used the 3 hours 34 objects tour. It helped me a lot to get an idea of what they have and where to find it. Really very useful. Loved it.
Does not work
Even if you pre-download all of the content this does not work in most galleries. Museum employee told us the Wi-Fi is poor throughout the museum. Don’t waste your time and money.
The internet is not good to use the app
In some rooms, there is no 4G signal and the Wi-Fi is weak. So if you want listen to every introduction, need to download the file in advance🙄
Confusing and Hard to Follow
Instead of providing a tour through the museum, this audio guide will give you snippets of information and then good luck finding the next one. No guidance whatsoever. The best you can do is type the code whenever you see one and get infos about selected items in the exhibition. Even worse: if you purchase the „full“ audio guide and then switch the language you have to make another purchase to unlock it again and of course again for another language — unlike every other (physical) audio guide of audio guide app I‘ve used before. Worse still: sometimes pictures are shown in the app to point to certain details. These pictures in the app are tiny with no option to zoom in. You‘re better off just ignoring these parts of the commentary. The museum is great, but this app is something else entirely and requires a lot more work to actually become useful.
Needs integrated maps with tour
I downloaded this app to have an audio guided tour of the museum. We paid for the Top 10 tour, but while there were audio descriptions for 10 objects in the museum, I wouldn't really call it a "tour". There was no map to guide us between the objects, just "room 10" or "room 35" and then we had to try and find the objects within those rooms. In a few cases, the described objects were not even located in those rooms (eg. Rosetta Stone was moved into a special exhibit). It would be much better if there was some indication on the map to show where the particular items are, and ideally (as with other audio guides) some color commentary to provide background on the museum or other interesting facts while moving between objects.
Best Museum App
It is so well organised, easy to use, and has very good content. You can either follow the tours which I like the most, or listen rooms’ summary and their important artifacts. Every museum should have this. Thank you!
Audio cuts out or doesn’t play
We downloaded the top 10 audio track. Sometimes the audio plays but quickly stops playing. Then you can’t hear anything anymore. I have only been able to hear about 10% of the audio content. We are on the museum Wi-Fi. The content is not pre-buffered. The museum is packed today. So maybe on a quiet day, this app might work better.
Not easy to use and when I got home asked me to pay again!
I visited the museum and bought the full guide. It was not easy to use as some of the exhibits had a number but were not on the app and others that were on the app the exhibit had no number so very user unfriendly. Asked several staff for help and all said they had never used the app so had no idea! Give them some training for goodness sake! Most frustratingly is that now I am home and want to listen to it it’s all locked and wants me to pay again! It says on webpage you can listen at home. Not the case.
Very low resolution images
Content as expected. Very disappointing experience with the very low resolution images. Not possible to see the detail that is pointed out by the narrator. So much potential to be 5 star, awesome app. I would rate 1 star if rating only on image quality.

It’s very easy to use this app for updating evens and sound introductions amazing to learn the history or story about the exhibition.
This had so much potential. It’s a waste of data and time.
The paid tours are just random items it takes you too. No cohesion. Each of the features doesn’t provide any additional information than what is printed there already. Usually it provides less. I was hoping this would expand upon the experience of this museum, but it was very dissatisfying. Also the Musuem has slow wifi and bad cell coverage so things load slowly and then glitch because it doesn’t preload the audio and images before playing.
Unfathomable
Apparently you can download a guide to the exhibition you’re planning to attend. Good luck with that. It did actually seem to download something - but listening to it is another story. Despite having paid for the exhibition, and then another five pounds to unlock the app, the guide was still showing the locked message and directing me to purchase on the tours page. Fortunately, this proved impossible - just takes you round in a loop. Basically the BM app is no better than the website. Which is a shame.

This is by far the worst app I have ever had the misfortune of downloading, the tours they have not only cost money but when you do buy them they are poorly made and not at all informative or interesting, they sound the like the tour for every boring museum ever! It is waste of time and space on your phone.
Horrible app
The app took forever to load and constantly malfunctioned. The wifi network dedicated to the app was down. It would be much better if the app allowed you to download the audio clips instead of trying to stream them inside the museum.

Pay up or get out
I tried several stops but always got the lock symbol for the paid app. Don’t bother downloading unless you’re buying the upgrade...though it does have a map of the museum, saving £2 for a paper copy.
Terrible App
If you’re looking to find out anything about the collection, don’t waste your time with this app. There’s precious little information to be found and everything seems to be behind a paywall. Seems appropriate that a culture that stole artifacts from cultures around the world would stoop to a cheap money grab.
Needs work
The app professes to give tours. I tried two of them, each of which is merely an assortment of objects throughout the museum—no directions to these objects, written or narrated. So you must toggle between the map and room numbers shown in icons next to the objects; once in a designated room, you’ll need to hunt for the object itself. Rooms are large, so you’ll spend much more time searching maps and rooms than you will learning from the recordings. The app also isn’t updated, per current conditions. If an object you’re seeking via the app is on loan to another museum or the room you’re supposed to visit is closed for renovation, you won’t know it until you walk there. I suggest skipping the app and taking a guided tour on-site. The museum has many incredible assets, but its app is not one of them.
