release scaler 3 for ipad!
enough with the delays already! get it done and release it.
Extremely laggy
I was told they were going to update the app las year, and they never did.
Must have!
The only thing i could ask for is IAA audiobus support for fl mobile.
can’t see full GUI if running as AUV3
in logic pro ipad difficult when re-sizing window
The iPad m5 battery consumption
For unknown reasons, the battery drains very quickly and even the device itself becomes hot.
I start every song with it
Scaler creates results. Whether on the iPad or my computer, I start every track with Scaler. The iPad version has consistently helped me start songs around my house while not being tied to my computer. Hoping for the amazing Scaler 3 to come to iPad soon.
Unusable right now, insane battery drain!
Actually I am a huge fan of Scaler, really!! BUT the battery drain the App causes when used as midi plugin (tried in Cubasis 3 and GarageBand) is insane! And I am on the M5 pro…. You really must fix this. I’m not going let the app destroy my iPad‘s battery!
Amazing
It’s an amazing and very useful tool. It’s just too bad that the UI doesn’t resize properly when used as an AUv3.
Fix 48k
Works great at 44.1k sampling rate, but sync fails at 48. FIX IT
amazing
Changed my whole workflow. I use it constantly via LOOPYPRO I only hope there was a way to midi map the performance options But that something will not be missed by most users of this app…. The options are just overwhelming!!!!!
I must be missing something…
Like I said, i must be missing something here. This app is confusing, and very difficult to use. The interface is very complicated and the timing is always off by about 1 beat when you try to record something. I tried to figure this app out, and of course I couldn’t get my money back because I waited so long. If you want to buy a completely useless app that will turn your iPad into a frying pan (CPU usage?) be my guest. At least you’ll learn about a thousand chords that you will never use in any musical endeavor…
Yes, easily create quotes and melody and record midi
I’m like this a lot and I’ve just installed it. Basically want to use my commuting time to create chords and to create a melody on top of that and then export that to my PC based studio one music station.. this will work perfectly because of the capture where you can create a cord progression and then improvise on top of that… love it I might add the fifth star at some point, but at this point it took me quite a long time to find out that it could infect export middy in the export menu. There is no mention of midi at all which gave me the impression that it was not possible, and it took me hours to find out that it is.. Time you get four stars for wasting my time, but I will forgive you soon and give you the fifth…amended😎
Glitches out everything when gui is open in AUM.
Overall good program.. except causes AUM to hundred percent glitch out while GUI is open. Which renders it almost unusable for me.. if this can get fixed soon I'll change my review to a very good one.
Scaler Keyboard
Still no update to allow access to Scaler keyboard in landscape mode, on Logic Pro for Ipad. Keyboard is only accessible when Ipad is in vertical mode. Really need this to be fixed please.
Great!,
Makes my music exploration fun! Thanks
Hope the update fixed it, nope still can’t sync
Can you test the app before u put it on App Store. Or let us know it can’t sync to the beat every time.
Great App
I love it
Tutorial need to be beginner centric
Scaler 2 doesn’t detect anything in my songs.
Ipad gets very hot
Using Scaler in Logic Pro on 2022 Ipad pro, it gets too hot to hold and battery drains rapidly.
Nice surprise
🤯
Needs work
OK, so it works as advertised, but the interface and app flow are klunky and the content is really bloated. I would like two things to change, one is to make patterns and chords into separate purchases because there is just to much bloat. I really don’t like having to search through menu lists for patterns and styles, and even if I find a performance or pattern that I somewhat like it cannot be edited. The screen real estate is handled badly and too much diving through menus or changing pages to develop a smooth workflow. If you like the style of having the app do your creative work it’s great, but as a creator I don’t see it being very helpful to develop my own ideas. I will keep this in hopes that it will improve but for now it’s just too cluttered to be useful to me. Best to all who like it, and may it serve you well. PS don’t recommend training courses. I have around a hundred music apps on my iPad and none of them are as obtuse as Scaler.
Wish it had an actual piano roll where you can see the MIDI notes
Great plug-in but I wish it had an actual piano roll where you can see the MIDI notes and be able to tweak them to your liking. Other then that, I would’ve given it 5 stars for sure.
Hanging notes constantly
App is practically unusable, works fine when coming up with ideas but as soon as I try to record into BM3 the notes hang (iPad 9th gen and iPad mini 6th gen) only way around this is to export MIDI files then import into bm3 but it doesn’t even do that correctly as for whatever reason the MIDI crashes BM3 also the file extension has to be edited to even import into atom to export into BM3 far to many steps are needed therefore sucking the joy out of music production.
Great app with a few limitations
Very complex app that can accomplish a lot, but leaves a few things to be desired. Can’t seem to export files as .mid? Some stability issues as an AU3, keep losing sound and have to reload the plug-in, or having keys remaining triggered when stopping audio.
Great App
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Issues
In Logic Pro for iPad, when using MIDI plugin, the tempo is out of sync if the project's sample rate is not equal to 44.1. Also, for some reason, this plugin consumes a lot of resources and heats up the device. This also applies to the MIDI plugin. Even powerful synthesizers don't heat up the device like that. iPad Pro 2020
Great app with small annoyance
Would be great to have an option to increase the font size on the guitar fretboard. It is too small to read. The menus are also a bit fiddly and tiny arrows easy to miss. Lists with on/off switches could be replaced with simple toggle buttons instead of having to click to get a menu and from that menu select on or off. Can be a simple tap to toggle. Fantastic app but ui and ux could be better.
Generally speaking: GREAT, but…
It’s a practical scale and chords workhorse for compositions and productions, but the UI is confusing and needs a more intuitive design. If you can adapt to the ui, you’ll get very helpful options that add to your creative process. You can quickly underlay a good chord progression to your song, even if you don’t have any ideas, just take some impressions and work with them while you go, the results will be fine. You’ll also have different tools to find working chord relations or comparisons. It’s also one-to-one the same app like the desktop version, I haven’t seen any differences. Great! Finally a developer that takes IOS music production serious! We need more desktop apps on here, we aren’t less then desktop users, we have the same demands. Thank you for this mentality to the developer. My honest conclusion from using it on desktop: it’s a relief, it’s exactly what I needed to finally manage my chords easily and find the best progressions without beeing freaking Beethoven himself. But there’s is one big issue that makes me almost angry: IT DOES NOT WORK WITH BEATMAKER 3… whether you sync to the daw or export and import the midi to BM3, it’ll just don’t work… You’ll need external midi tools apps to do so and I freakin can’t figure it out to get it work. How come, one of the biggest IOS daws is not supported?
Midi FX Poblem
It’s a wonderful app don’t get me wrong, but the Midi Fx feature does not sync with DAW BPM. Track setup in Logic Pro iPad is Scaler 2 as (Midi Fx)-then place a Synth(instrument plugin) then I turn on Daw Sync and plays out of rhythm of DAW bpm. Let me know if I’m doing something g wrong
Awesome
Gorgeous sound quality and finding melodies/compositions through Scaler is vastly interesting. I only know basic music theory and piano scales but a combination of understanding how harmonies work and what the goal is is enough to start concepting out an entire composition in Scaler. Feels good, sounds good. Dig it
Nice preview
But needs the full install to be of use. Would have been nice to include it in the Boxing Day sales. A bit pricey as it is compared to the full computer app.
awesome app
Great for chord progressions, just needs update for Logic Pro 🔥
A deep flaw, and silly support, prevents it from being great
I have been using the desktop version of this for years. It’s great and very intuitive. This version duplicates the desktop version in many ways. That’ the good. It’s biggest failure — and it’s a really big one — is MIDI capture. It requires multiple steps, renaming, saving to a particular folder in the library and then exporting. A support request, which is necessary because this process is the opposite of intuitive, results in an e-mail suggesting a search of the forums and asking a question because users are eager to help. Come on, man. Answer simple support requests. Have you actually read some of the total garbage on forums responding to requests for assistance?
Awesome
Fun
Can’t export
Midi capture then export via email to the pc….it worked for a while but doesn’t work anymore this software buggy ? Every other app I use can export a wav file.this falls over…
iOS version using iPad Pro
As a stand alone app’ it’s stunning, the best I’ve found to date. It all goes horribly wrong if you try and open a session in Garage band; no sound, reloading required if another app window is opened…. I don’t have any other DAWS so can’t comment if it works with others.
Love it on PC, but big on iPad
My iPad Air only has 64GB and can’t justify 1.2GB for a single plugin. Would love a lite version without built in sounds if that could take less than 200MB
Fantastic
A truly amazing app for getting the creative juices flowing
Schade.
Works as advertised
Absolutely indespensible tool, props to the team!
Scaler can’t sync within Logic
With the DAW temp sync settings on in Scaler it still plays faster than the host tempo. It still syncs perfectly in Cubasis. Is there a setting I am missing?
What a great time for music
Scaler 2 is everything we have ever dreamed for. It has almost it all. Thank you developers for all the hard work put into it. My Christmas wish is that we can have unlimited Pads for create a song. May be we can alter the timing of each chord just to fully develop our song. Thanks again.
Hanging notes
Notes keep hanging and turns into feedback and no panic button. Have to keep closing it down and start again. Very annoying, can’t get anything done. Does it all the time. Yes it’s the iPad version and no it’s not an old iPad but the latest basic iPad. Shame because apart from that the app is great but totally unusable with this issue. Can you please resolve this? If so I’ll update my review. Thanks.
Almost like desktop app
I purchased the iOS app hoping to use it like the desktop app. It is not yet possible to drag MIDI from a pattern cell into another app. I know it’s possible as I have used Universal Control to drag and drop midi from other iPad apps straight to a Logic Pro project running on my Mac or simply to other iOS apps. I would also appreciate better mouse and keyboard support. While it’s appreciated you can drag and drop chords (except outside the app), there is currently no context menus (when right clicking or holding a chord).
I love and hate this in equal measures
What I love is the inspiring chord sequences ,the excellent rhythms and the cool bass lines . What I hate is the reliability of this app in loopy pro hd it keeps crashing and losing the sequence and starting with a blank page , This Is so frustrating ,so for this reason I would not recommend this app even though I love the other side of this
