Newest update is awful
This app is working for me just fine but the newest update in August 2026 has completely broken my workflow. I can no longer make a customized piece of mug sublimation paper at 9.5” x 4”. My dimensions are no longer allowed. I tried to use the mug template in the app, but it’s too small for my designs. I cannot print from my desktop to the printer (this was a problem before which is why I’m using the app in the first place). So basically I cannot use standard sublimation mug paper, which is ridiculous. This is not great since I have hundreds of wholesale orders I need to ship. I’m incredibly annoyed. I will change my review if this is fixed.
Works well!
I just wish we could see the surrounding fabric outside the frame it is very hard to line things up to things that are outside the embroidery area.
Educational videos won’t play
Thought this would be a useful app. Just bought the SQ9285 two hours ago and cannot view any videos for it. Keep getting a message to log in to prove I’m not a bot. There’s NO option to log in. Cannot click on “watch on YouTube” as it doesn’t allow you to click on it. Pretty disappointed!
I like it but I don’t love it
I really like the Brother SP1 printer. The print quality has been good and the printer itself is easy to use. However, I think the Artspira app needs significant improvement. The connection is frequently lost, which can be frustrating, especially when working on a project. Another major limitation is that Artspira is only available on mobile devices. It would be much better to have a version for a computer or laptop, or at least better support for a larger tablet screen/keyboard and mouse. Designing on a phone can be difficult when you need to work with text, positioning, and detailed designs. I really like the printer, but improving the Artspira app and connection stability would make the overall experience much better.
Great on Ink!
Surprisingly, I’ve made several items and I still have plenty of ink! Thank you BROTHER for making a great sublimation printer!!!
Not working
Keep trying to login and when I do that keep seeing a “Can’t get data from server. Check network and retry” and an update sign that doesn’t even do anything when I tap it nothing on the screen works all there is is a never ending loading sign.

Das Stick-Programm tut das, was es soll und lässt sich intuitiv bedienen. In der letzten Zeit sind viele gute Neuerungen dazugekommen. Was mir nicht gefällt, dass die Farben so „falsch“ wiedergegeben werden. Nicht jeder verwendet das Brother-Stick-Garn. Die Motive der kostenlos zur Verfügung gestellten Dateien gefallen mir ganz und gar nicht. Schade auch, dass ich die Dateien, die ich im Rahmen des Abos ausgewählt habe, nach Beendigung des Abos nicht behalten durfte. Dabei ist das Abo wirklich nicht gerade günstig. Das Digitalisieren von Bildern hat bei mir überhaupt nicht geklappt. Aus zwei alten Frauen wurden zwei junge Mädchen gemacht, die Personen sind nicht mehr zu erkennen, damit für mich : nutzlos.
Poor wireless connection
I bought the Brother SP-1 to sublimate shirts, magnets, and wall decor. This app is terrible for sublimation designs. I cannot count the times it has disconnected from the printer, MID-PRINT. This resulted in incomplete prints which wastes paper and time.
Ok, but could be better
This tool is a bit clunky, but I can usually get what I want if I work at it long enough.

The patterns and ease of using them with my machine is amazing!

Going to keep trying. App Keeps filling designs where I don’t want them filled even after using Inkscape to remove fill, and transferring. Lettering has bare spots where you can see the fabric between stitches. Like anything it’s a learning process. If I can use the app and get a solid design eventually I will update my review.
Just a few features I need…
There’s just a few features I need: copy and paste, distribute objects evenly. Otherwise, this thing totally rocks.
Buggy
I have found the program to be buggy. I have one bug now that won’t allow me to use the text function. What I type disappears. I have to close the app, re open it and then I get one chance to use the text. I have to close the app and reopen to add another text
Overwhelming
While I LOVE the scan n cut ability, transferring data to external sources doesn’t always work and it’s very annoying when you have VERY LIMITED memory on your machine. If there’s anyway that can be increased it would be a HUGE asset. Also, always having to “delete” a pattern or ok it is unnerving until you’re familiar with what it’s doing. That initial fear of losing your work is nauseating. I have yet to understand the reasoning behind it. I’m interested in purchasing files as I suspect that’s the only way to get the details I see on my phone and tablet but I’ve had my machine for 3-4 yrs and have yet to figure out how to purchase them🤦🏼♀️. 3-4 yrs in, my machine is having trouble with the left side roller lagging. And it always loads my scan sheet crooked. There should be troubleshooting tools within this app to help care for your machines but I guess that’s Brothers App???? There seems to be a lot more opportunity for those of us who input our own designs and to change them. But doing them on this app is next to impossible. Because it’ll lock up on you or you have to keep moving the screen around and then you lose your place.

12.99 a month is a lot imo, you can do the embroidery designs from the app “store.” uploading your own images, takes a second to figure out and for the most is almost an exact replica, but … eh.. Drawing your own designs, especially with the layers so you can trace over your designs from your photos would be amazing if you were able to select, copy, paste and flip so you can keep mirrored design areas cohesive, and I would absolutely consider the price worth it if those options were there, although I was super grateful the drawing part had smoothing feature lol It’s a decent app, just needs some tweaks to make the price worth it imo
The colors are disappointing
The colors that print look nothing like the screen and I am using a Brothersp1 printer

I feel like there should be a help? To help you get through directions or a chat box. I feel like it could be more user-friendly.

app was great until they made you have to pay for a subscription to use the machine i’m sure A LOT of people want to use it, before i could upload a image no issue now it won’t let me unless i pay when i already paid for the expensive machine already

skitch pp1を購入したため、こちらのアプリをダウンロードしました！ 画像から刺繍データを作成できるのはいいんですが、もう少し自由に出来れば嬉しいです！ 画像をデータにしたよ〜おしまいって感じなので データ変更後ここをこうしてあーして、っていう操作が出来ればいいなと思います！
Needs a laptop version
I am an older person using this app. It needs to be available on a laptop. I have tried to use it for clothing labels and can’t get it to print smaller. Then it says I am using the wrong hoop. I only have two options. I’m beyond frustrated. I have read through the reviews and the responses are on repeat with no solutions.
Was good
I’m not sure what happened but I was having a good time using this app until recently when in “design editor” for embroidery. I can add a text and edit the font but that’s it. I cannot edit the text again, to change spelling or add more words. I also cannot add another text to add more words on a new line.

It Never remembers who I am! And then it won’t accept my info. I have to go through the whole rigmarole of “I forgot my password “ Everybtime!
Trouble
I am unable to put my designs on this app as it will not allow me to open my files. I can open files in any other app, but not this one. I would love to be able to get the Artspira+, but it is not available in Canada. Not sure why. Hoping it will come soon. Everything else about this is great..
Feels incomplete
Considering this app is priced similarly to Cricut’s monthly subscription, the functionality is extremely limited in comparison. Many basic tasks such as cleaning up personal files or merging multiple Brother machine images to avoid repeated color changes require being redirected to other software platforms which cost additional fees. For the cost, I expected far more built-in tools and a smoother, all-in-one experience. Unfortunately, the value just isn’t there.
Beginner’s Review
As a first time user I am having a difficult time figuring out where to even start.

Limited machine options
I can not find an option of a Sublimation Printer SP-1 rather it gives me only three options, embroidery machine, cutting machine and a sewing machine

Can’t print
I’ve tried going through the trouble shooting and can’t even use my printer as the app won’t link any longer to it since the recent update
Mega enttäuscht
Seit einiger Zeit muss man sich neu anmelden. Nur leider funktioniert dies nicht immer. Wenn die App funktioniert ist sie gut. Gerade eben will ich mich einloggen und es funktioniert mal wieder nicht. Anfang des Jahres war alles top aber seit das neue Update da ist funktioniert nichts mehr. Schöner Mist.
Just starting
So far it’s been a couple weeks and everything is great and mostly simple
Can’t log back in
Trying to log back in using brother account and app keeps generating an error message- frustrating I can’t log back in and use my current files - chat support with ai is useless - no human option every showed up, phone queue is over an hour- just to log in!
Needs improvement
I got a Brother sewing and embroidery machine and downloaded this app to easily transfer embroidery to my machine. The app crash and close suddenly, I started free monthly trial and don’t believe people pay this price for this. The app doesn’t let you edit an embroidery, only choose the thread line colors. For the price, this app should have same edit options as many others you see online. It was also nice to see this app with desktop version, so you can create and edit embroidery files in your computer. This app need lot of improvement before start charging expensive plans to get few embroidery files options
App ok, KI schlecht
Ich wollte ein Foto in eine Stickdatei umwandeln, aber nach der Bearbeitung durch die KI kann man noch nicht mal erkennen, ob männlich oder weiblich, geschweige denn, wen es darstellen soll. Da ist bitte dringender Update-Bedarf, damit das sticken mehr Spaß macht und die App ihr Geld wert ist!

Not connecting
Was working. Then all of a sudden, the app is telling me to make sure my mobile device is connected to the network. But the app sees my machine on the list.
App not opening
For the past two weeks this app has not open! I am paying monthly and have orders to complete and I have done everything possible to get app back working.
Roadblock
This app wants users to sign into primary accounts (like Apple) through their app in order to use. Do you trust Brother (or any third party) with that function?

The WORST
This is the absolute worst piece of Software I have ever ever tried to use. It is absolutely horrible.
Designs and functionality issues
I love my machine but the software lacks useability and the designs are litmiting. As a professional artis tI was hoping for a better experience in creating my designs. I am a beginner so will keep you updated on my progress. Also the message here is not showing for soe reason??
in Ordnung, aber ausbaufähig
leider hat man nur wenige Möglichkeiten, Dateien die nicht von der CanvasWorkspace Seite stammen zu Bearbeiten. Auch ist es leider nicht möglich Vorlagen zum Arbeitsbereich hinzuzufügen, z.B. für Tassen. Jede Tasse wird auf ein Blatt gedruckt, das verschwendet viel Papier. Die vorhanden Designs sind schön. Ich finde das Programm leicht unübersichtlich und mich hat es schon in den ersten 5 min, viele nerven gekostet.
