Fun Game, Terrible Sleep Tracker
I’ve been tracking my sleep for years, I have tracked my sleep with every app imaginable, an Apple Watch, Apple Health, an Oura Ring, you name it I’ve tried it. (Oura Ring is the top tier option in case you were wondering. Best. Purchase. Ever.). Pokemon sleep is very fun to play and I do still use it, but only to catch Pokemon with my friends. The actual sleep tracking function of this app sucks. It’s always telling me that I slept less than I actually did (which screws you for the game because you have to sleep to rest up your Pokemon) and it’s always telling me the app closed overnight and low key scolds me for it. Like excuse you, my app IS open and has been all night. YOUR tracking coding is the problem. At least the app is fully usable for free. That’s more than I can say for any other sleep tracking app I’ve tried.
Dear Niantic…You broke the Sleep Feature
I love my Pokémon Plus + ball for tracking sleep. And up until tracking feature changed from the ball to my phone, I was using it every night to track my sleep and feed my Snorlax. Why did moving it to the phone break the feature?! Because now I can no longer listen to my Audible books to go to sleep while at the same time putting Pokémon Sleep into sleep tracking mode. Since the tracker is on the phone, when I enable tracking it stops the Audible playback that was playing in the background (with a sleep timer). When it was on the ball, I could push the button, Pikachu would sing his lullaby and start tracking. All while being completely separate from Audible playback on my phone. I’ve used other sleep trackers on my phone in the past that allowed Audible or Spotify to play in the background. So, it’s possible. Please fix this feature so that I can listen to my Audible books to go to sleep, like I have every night for over a decade, AND use Pokémon Sleep to track my sleep, preferably back on the physical Plus + ball, but if not, then fixed on the phone app.
Honest review
This game is awesome entertaining and I look at stats and all of that and somehow my mom is doing better than me. This game is truly built for people who want to be the very best and people who don’t care and just wanna catch cool pokemon
Team Switching Error
I am so tired of getting a confirmation message that I changed teams then coming back and seeing the team didn’t actually switch. Don’t give a confirmation message if it didn’t happen. When I swap a team, I should be able to close the app immediately afterward and not have to worry.
Not very shift worker friendly.
Cool game. I would like to be able to track my sleep schedule without losing my streak every time I swap from day shift to night shift.
I enjoyed it but…
Ever since the dex got altered, I’m seeing a lot less pokémon I enjoy and tons more duplicates. Poke biscuits are not abundant enough. And subskill seeds are almost impossible to get as f2p And, we’re getting too many pokemon lately that are single stages and require 16 friendship points to recruit… Please add more pokémon with 5 friendship points. Until improvement, this is my review.

So i i download pokemon sleep on my phone and ipad, And for some reason every time i try to read the terms of use or privacy policy it wont actually show me the terms of use/privacy policy cause it will be stuck loading. I left my phone on pokemon sleep for an hour it still wasnt loaded. please fix this as i rlly wanna play!!

It’s cuter than it is functional
Honestly, I just want the screen to turn off and for more calming “sleep sounds”. Everything except Campfire is too harsh to sleep to in some way or another. As an adult who shares a bed, sure, Apple watch support would be good… if I cared. But it records the hours and that’s adequate enough. If you want something accurate, use another app.

Cool App, Bad Design
This app is really cool and I love Pokémon, but after doing one sleep session for four hours my phone became so hot that it actually woke me up because major heat was radiating off of it. I had to turn off my phone and let it cool down for 20 minutes and even then it was still too hot. I’m not sure why my iPhone didn’t auto shut off at that point, but I had to eventually set it in front of my air-conditioning unit just to cool it down a little more. Genuinely worried that my iPhone would break from how much heat was coming off of it. After about 30 minutes of cooling down my phone, I turned it back on, and I went back into the if there were any settings, I could change and unfortunately there are not but the drowsy score was really cool and I wish that I had a device that I could connect this to that wouldn’t overheat because this app is actually really cool.

I had the app before on the previous iPhone and I just re-downloaded it then I see a ad on TikTok that Garmin Pokémon Sleep watch faces and my wife got me the Apple Watch Ultra for Christmas. Why is it that we don’t have this? This is an absolute must I need this on my watch ASAP. and only then will I give the five stars

If you can play sounds while sleeping, we should be able to either use Spotify or at least upload songs/sounds to the app. Otherwise it's a good app and forces me to actually get sleep

Pokemon made me late to work
Don’t get me wrong I ADORE this game. It’s very cute and I like feeling like I’m getting little rewards for taking care of myself by sleeping well. But one morning the app decided to crash and did not set the alarm off for work😭 It was very upsetting and I will no longer be able to use the in app alarm. I wish it could be more reliable!
The cutest sleep tracker- NEEDS a dark mode
I’ve tracked my sleep with a variety of different apps, and this is the only one I’ve stuck with- it’s been about a year of consistent logging. Adorable, broadly self-paced, and low-stakes with no ads! It feels like a little treat to see what Pokemon show up for research and the shiny rate is way higher than any of the mainline Pokemon games. Runs nicely on iPhone 15 pro, the animations and Pokemon cries are perfect. Love the new Nap Island feature for making it easier to level helpers, too. Game NEEDS a dark mode or something. It would be cute if they changed throughout the day to match the game’s day/night cycle, but I would be totally satisfied with a toggle switch in the settings (Light/Dark/Match system). Minor issues- Some of the “sleep tips” are pretty vague or don’t cite a reputable source (‘some say’ or ‘it is thought’ don’t count!), and the app is not great for tracking naps (must sleep for at least 90 mins to count) and the way the days are broken up can cause problems when I fall asleep after midnight.

I’m stuck on the terms of use cause there making me read it but it won’t load I’ve been sitting here for 5 hours just trying to get into it.😑
Fun, Useful, could perform better
I love the app and use it as my default sleep tracker, but it could use some quality of life adjustments: 1) Make font size adjustable or sync to our device settings. Some of the lettering is tenths of a mm tall on my screen and I can’t even zoom in on it. I stand no chance to read it first thing in the morning. 2) Change it so leveling up Snorlax can not override the sleep screen. But I’ve had multiple times that Snorlax levels up right after I hit confirm to go to sleep and set my phone face down, and it keeps the screen on displaying the level up screen and I’m worried about screen durability when it’s like that all night. 3) Ties in to 2, but really this app needs to be receptive to be able to run in the background with the screen off. My phone is sitting there with the screen technically on and unlocked all night while I sleep, and I’m not super comfortable with that. I enjoy the app greatly and have used it for a year or two now, but do hope to see the devs find ways to improve on these fronts.
After A Month, Meh Over It
First of all, the “glowing” reviews are 100% fake and paid for. Far too detailed, like someone is actually trying to sell you the product itself. While the app is not exactly terrible per say it’s not very accurate at tracking your sleep unless you have an Apple Watch. Tracking on the phone is not that accurate. The gaming aspect of it is also very lacking and kind of forceful. As soon as you wake up you have to do these tasks which sometimes you really don’t want to immediately first thing in the morning. I thought it would be more of and idle game but it actually requires you to be logging in multiple times a day or miss out on “feeding” which then makes your pokemon unhappy and unhelpful. Catching pokemon is the WORST of any pokemon game. You have to give them snacks which itself isn’t that bad, the bad part is how much they cost. A basic poke biscuit is 150 sleep points and the MAX amount you can get in a single day is 100 and that’s only if you get a perfect sleep score. Leveling up and evolving your pokemon is then even harder because it’s not even about hours spent sleeping with a pokemon or just raising its level to a certain point. Nope you gotta keep feeding it level up candy to get it to a certain level and some you have to buy certain stones or items which cost thousands of sleep points. This is honestly the SLOWEST game EVER! Progress is like watching the continents move, yeah it’ll happen after years and years and years of work and dedication which most people will not bother with. If I’m over it after only a month I can’t imagine there are people that will be on it for years and years. You can’t even transfer any pokemon to Pokemon home which would be the ONLY benefit of actually using this app.

Animations take too long
I just use this app because the alarm is super effective (no pun intended) in being the most annoying alarm ever. Unfortunately it forces me to sit and watch every animation before bed. Let me skip all

Tracking sleep
I’ve had this for a month now. I’ve had nothing but issues with trying to track sleep. This week I’ve only had 2 days tracked on Pokemon Go. The Pokemon Go Plus +app lets about 90%of the Pokemon flee. I’m starting to feel it was a waste of $54.00. It jumps to the next Pokemon before the one it’s on is caught. Update I’ve had this for a few years now! It usually works great but since this recent update I can’t log in to the app! 😭

Great, but…
Lately, it’s been having an issue where, when I set an alarm for a certain time, it changes whether it’s in the afternoon or the morning. I work late shifts at work. I need my alarm to go off at one PM so I can get to my job at 3 PM, and work until 11 PM. Twice now, it has changed my alarm from 1 PM to 1 AM, causing me to oversleep and have less time to get ready. I’m not sure what’s going on with that, but this NEEDS to get fixed.
Okay app with lots of issues
Constantly crashes during sleep tracking So many little bits that take ages to do in app - like having to go through multiple menus and pop-ups to get sometning. Not ads, but like little alerts and news items etc - makes something that should be intuitive take 2-3 minutes and multiple clicks. Sleep data tracking is patchy at best, but generally it will record a full night where it doesn’t crash. Lots of crashes as well while reviewing sleep data, but not as critical as the app reloads where you left off. Also get the feeling that the developers are extremely, to the point of obsessively, concerned with cheaters on a non-competitive app. Feels like many QoL features, like one touch data reviewing and being able to edit sleep data, especially when the app *crashes*, are just not considered. If the app is gonna crash so much, then at least allow unusually short data to be flagged and the option to enter some data.
Getting fed up with this game
This game was great until you updated the shiny mechanics in the game. I was getting shinys all the time. I barely get them now and I have Pokemon like level 30 and still haven’t seen a shiny of it. When I would get a shiny with them being like level 5. So extremely disappointed with how the game is going now.

Update: gave it another chance. If you take two days to set it up, you get past the tutorials and things where you’re able to press “sleep” at any time Old: I wanted to like this so much but it’s constantly asking me questions instead of letting me log my sleep. I can’t even enjoy the game part bc I have to press skip 100 times. It should let you log sleep when you want to log and go back and play during the day where there is time… I slept 5 mins exhausted just trying to press “log sleep” but it never happened so I had to go back to my old sleep app
Smart Watch Incompatibility
Love the actual game, but without an Apple Watch you can’t use an smart device to track your sleep. I have a Garmin that uploads the data to apple health but the game still won’t accept that because it doesn’t come from an Apple Watch? Seems like a factor that limits people who can use the app a lot. An update to allow the game to accept sleep data from apple health no matter the input device would be great. Otherwise I can’t use this game.
Helpful, but lack of music choice
Really have found this app helpful in trying to stick to schedule. However, it could greatly benefit from integrating some music services like Apple, Spotify, etc. as most of the “relaxing” sounds it provides are a little too stimulating to help with sleep.
great app, have some suggestions
Let me start off by saying that this app truly helped my sleep schedule, there were nights where i couldn’t sleep and I found that the music helped. Also for recommendations I think they should add a shiny incense that increases shiny odds for the night, the ability to trade pokemon with friends, and the ability to vote on what the next event should be.

Besides the anime I find to be condescending. This app suggests you place you phone under your pillow. That is a fire hazard. I couldn’t file a complaint and Nintendo should look into thier healthcare practices because we need to ensure we involve safety.

Too slow…
UI animations take way too long with no ability to skip, which results in a poor UX that forces the user to keep the app open for longer (maybe a tactic on the product’s end). As an example, feeding cookies, going through sleep results, and cooking have very long animations and transitions. It makes sense from a user’s perspective that tapping the screen during these animations will speed it up (similar to the dialog displayed when Snorlax increases a rating). This makes the game unattractive to play because the whole point of powering up Snorlax and befriending new Pokémon becomes more of a chore/hassle rather than a fun activity.

I wish they would give the screens and other thing darker colours so people who are using it before bed don’t get flash banged before bed so if they could make like the food screen a deep blue I think that would improve it a good bit

It was great while it lasted
It’s a good concept but quite often overheated my iPhone 16 Pro or drained the battery and none of the other apps I use did that overnight and I play Doomsday which is a very battery heavy game. The alarm often didn’t wake me even when my sound was on.
Needs white noise sounds
It's pretty silly how it doesn't let you listen to anything else on your phone while sleep tracking, and then the sounds they provide are just random jingles. Just put in white noise / fan noise. This seems obvious.... Unless I figure out another solution i won't be able to track sleep because I need white noise to drown out random noises in my building.
