What people like
- News content is highly reliable and factual

What they complain about
- Font size slider just doesn't work
- App loads pages way too slowly
- Screen goes black or app crashes
Good
It’s good newspaper
App is very slow
Content is extraordinarily good however app is very slow. Raised this issue with Hindu numerous times. Ensure regular updates to have smooth experience
Search of words or news
Not available.
Has again become slow to load
Earlier it used to take around a minute to load the paper. Then they fixed it and the app had become fast (<5 secs) to open pages. But now it seems to be going back to how it was earlier, taking >10-15 secs to open. Please remove the bloat and keep it lean and fast!
Ipad OS
Hi Team, It seems the app is still running as an extended iphone format on the Ipad os restricting me from using the hindu and switching to other platforms. I hope the issue be solved else will need to switch out.
Best Reliable news
I can be rest assured that the news is most reliable
The app is a let down. Paid only for the content
While the content of the Hindu will always be top quality, the app is extremely laggy and often turns unresponsive on its own. This is a let down.
Dark mode
Everything is too good except dark mode, make it available
Font change option, non-functional
The app made for iPads does not seem to have a functional font changing option. The slider is just a cosmetic feature. Please take appropriate action immediately.
Lack of Dark mode
Kindly add the feature of Dark Mode
All is excellent barring Download Provision on the App.
Please permit download on the app for personal use. I can’t use the E paper when there is no Wi-Fi connectivity, for instance on a flight. To download, I have to go to the website login download and then transfer it to the phone. That’s a bit tedious. Everything else is outstanding!❤️
Text size function now working.
Since last 4 months, the text size function is not working due to which the font remains too small for comfortable reading experience. I have tried to contact the Hindu’s customer support team as well but their response has been deeply disappointing. Hoping this review reaches the right person. Please resolve the text size function. It’s not working and also increase the line spacing. Thanks.
Great App, some jitters
Great app with options to download articles and backloading of previous editions. However a few small jitter appear, sometimes the articles take a second to long to load, sometimes it’s a minute. The text zoom works erratically. Still the best out there for news
Text size adjust doesn’t work
The text size adjust ion option is present and is unfunctional. Please fix it
UNBIASED OPINION
This may be the older print media in a digital form, but the content quality is unmatchable to any new form of communication. If anyone wants to know about something with solid facts the best option may be this.
Daily Habit
Although, I normally stay in Indore -presently in Dallas, US- The Hindu continues to be with me, all the time. I have been a regular reader for over ten years. It is an amazing source of information, apart from the news. The Learning corner, is equally challenging and entertaining!
Unable to view pages
Unable to view pages …bugs on ur app
FONT SIZE NOT WORKING
The font size of the news articles is not working, means I am not able to adjust the required font size for my convenience because that feature doesn’t work or maybe there is a glitch in the app. So if THG team can fix this then this will be a blessing for you readers like me.
Qualty of App has degraded over time
Have been subscribing to The Hindu ePaper for 3 years now. The app has degenerated into a mess. The pictures cannnot be viewed, the font size remain fixed despite sliding the font size bar to bigger font.
Abysmal and Temperamental
When it works it works OK. Get logged out often and unable to login back. Very hesitant to open the daily from the landing page even after multiple clicks. Fix it
The Hindu Epaper
Easy to read. Give that guy some raise who has designed this app. Too good.
Font size is not increasing or decreasing as per requirements
Size customisation within app is not working
Little slow
At times the app is little bit slow and sometimes blacked out
E paper not readable
Hi! I m not able to read the E -Paper on the Hindu e paper app on iOS. The screen goes black whenever i open the e paper. Even on scrolling through the pages the black screen is always displayed
Need a fix
App home page layout not loading. Articles when clicked not loading, need to close and reopen app. Both in ipad and iphone Thanks
Chennai edition received
I am receiving only Chennai edition Please send international edition
Loading glitch on iPhone
It almost takes 10-15min for the app to load the paper on iPhone. I verified and android has no such issue. Despite, repeated flagging, The Hindu is not correcting it.
Download ePaper
In the app, there’s no option of downloading the complete paper on my device.
App is glitchy and slow
Please refine the app for easy usage
Coverage
Excellent coverage
Font size adjustment in iPad is not working
Though it is possible to drag, but it is neither increasing nor reducing the font size while reading an individual article. (iPad M1 2022) Log date: 16/07/26 How hard it is to improve one function for the app developers? I am not even complaining about all the bugs that are there on the platform. Just do one thing, improve the font size slider. It is not working across different iPads. I will definitely change the ratings, though it seems it doesn’t make much difference to you guys.
App text size toggle in article mode isn’t working
The toggle to increase text size in article mode while reading in the iOS app doesn’t seem to work. I tested the same in Android and it works fine. Same in desktop. But for some reason the feature in iPhone doesn’t work at all. Please address this 🙏🏼
Glitchy app
The app for iPad keeps glitching. There is always a lag of 5-10 seconds. Quite often I have to uninstall and reinstall because it gets stuck on a page. Generic answers after 2 days is what I receive when I raise a ticket to customer care. I enjoy the content and is the only reason I put up with this irritating app.
Great Application
Good app with credible information
apple payment subscription doesn’t work
This app doesn’t honour apple subscription
App is crashing on ipad
App is crashing on my ipad air
The Hindu e paper
The main problem while reading this e paper is that even an inadvertent touch on the article takes the reader to another view. It’s very much annoying and irritating. If one needs to go for that view should do a conscious touch like a double tap.
Great App, Please Fix the Embedded Images Issue
The Hindu ePaper app offers the convenience of reading the newspaper anytime, anywhere on a mobile device, making it a great experience overall. However, there is one issue that has persisted for quite some time and needs attention. When opening an article that contains multiple embedded images, only one image is visible, while the remaining images are not accessible. Moreover, even the displayed image does not open when tapped for a larger view. I request the development team to look into this issue and resolve it at the earliest, as fixing it would significantly improve the reading experience.
Too bad
By launching an app pathetic in terms of quality you are really tarnishing the name of this reputed newspaper
Article is not loading..please fix the issues
Please update the app . When I choose an article to read it just shows it is loading for infinite times.. Today is 11th May 2022 still same issues with the app no more updates… Still counting.. On 27th August the problem is not solved yet.. I request Apple to please discontinue this app.. Thanks
