Sometimes P2P, just cash grab.

This game can be a real pain sometimes for several reasons. The fact that others can basically harass others because they’re stronger and have deeper pockets is insane. I’m not talking about winning events because money. I’m talking about targeting and suppressing other players because the person is trash and has no common decency. That said, there are also a lot of nice people with decency in the game. If you choose to play this, I recommend waiting on spending a lot of money until you figure out what your server is like so that you don’t feel trapped like others I’ve seen. There are times when you’re up against opponents with unfair matchmaking that you can barely even play because every move is countered. There are times when getting a good ranking in an event, let alone winning is basically impossible unless you sink way tooooo much money into the game. Every event and every aspect of this game is designed to get you to spend money. Literally. If you don’t have items from spending money, don’t worry about it, your opponents do. You can’t get something because it requires immense gold (basically in-game real currency) or some special items? Don’t worry about it, you’ll never get it if you’re free to play. Some of the events are fun. Others just drag on. One event in particular is absolutely the worst and needs fixed so much. It’s Texas Hold ‘Em, but there way it’s designed you could probably spend everything and more and not get the one card you need. I’ve used a couple dozen draws just for a single card, and never got it. IT IS A BAD EVENT. It needs fixed immediately. It’s kind of fun when it isn’t being a bigger scam than actual casinos or betting, but the devs are making money, so why would they care? In fact, I wasn’t going to complain about this terrible game until I had such experiences with that lousy scam of an event. Moreover, aside from all the problems I’ve mentioned, this game has partial nudity. There are basically concubines, or lovers in game, if you get their stats high enough, clothes get removed or adjusted. Lovers can be either a man or woman. More nakedness. This game is not for kids because of that. No minor should have this game, yet so many teenagers are playing it. They need to fix that too. There has to be a way to verify if someone is at least 18 quite easily, even getting that from the game store, or the device’s whatever without violating privacy. Kids are playing this game, I know of someone who started even before she was at the age rating for the game, even as low as that is. That’s terrible. In summary, you’ll come across people in this game, and not everyone is a good person just like in real life. Some are probably extra mean because the game basically encourages it by design. The events aren’t all good, and at least one is a complete scam most of the time. And certain aspects need censoring options and maybe age verification and a different age rating. This is a game where socializing can be good and fun, but if you’re here to win contests, know that you’ll need money. This is technically free to play, but it’s definitely pay to win. Sometimes you can’t even really compete without spending either.

Three good years, then it became a chore

Played Kings Choice for three years, so this isn’t a quick rage-review, there was a lot to genuinely enjoy here. The core loop is solid, the alliance system gave it a real sense of investment and community, especially if you get yourself in a good alliance on a good server. I don’t mind a grind; I went in knowing what kind of game this was. What eventually wore me down was the time demand, not the difficulty. Certain events and operations are locked to specific windows during the day, (that shift with Daylight Savings) so it stopped being a game I could dip into around work and family and became something I had to schedule around. That’s a different ask to “log in when you can,” and over time it tipped from feeling like an investment to feeling like an obligation. Worth noting for anyone considering it: I never spent beyond a small starter offer (First Recharge) in three years, and still got a lot out of the game, but the spending pressure is clearly built around a small number of high-spending players, and it shows in how the game is paced. If you’ve got a demanding job or family life and can’t commit to fixed check-in times, go in aware that’s where this game will eventually ask the most of you, particularly with alliance and cross-server events. Quit six months ago. Don’t regret the years I had with it, but don’t miss the appointments or the toxicity of certain high-spending individuals either.

Best Game Ever

This is a great RPG game with each server creating their own rules. It is social and competitive at the same time. One thing I hate about Kings Choice is having minors trying to tell every adult what to do. It would be fine if it made sense. I would like to see the game 21+ only. The “lovers” are not appropriate for children under 18 There are little changes that could make it a little better but overall, it’s my favorite and addictive game

Fun game ruined by hive mind players

It’s a fun game, but it gets taken over by overbearing players who have multiple accounts on multiple servers who blacklist you if you don’t play the game exactly how they want you to. You need to participate in an Alliance to progress, and if you get blacklisted, you are stuck and cannot move forward. I played in good faith and was friendly with everyone. When my alliance merged I was given a long list of rules and threatened with backlisting if I didn’t follow them to the letter or was inactive for more than a day. It honestly ruined the experience and I deleted the app afterward. I would play this again if they removed the requirement to work with other players in order to progress.

I recently quit this game, about 9 months and thousands of dollars after starting. Look at the Discord/Facebook/whatever listed in this App description. They say they promote a “safe, fair” gaming environment. I’ve seen dozens of people violating everything KC says they will not permit, reported in game (because that’s the only way to do it, if there’s even an option for what you’re seeing,) and received a generic message back, if any message at all. Cheating/verbal abuse/threats/child predators, they’re all here. KC does nothing. It’s still going on. And be aware that if you do start playing, whatever Server you start on, you are stuck there. No option to change Servers without starting all over. More $$$ for KC. I’m sorry I ever found this game.

The people I’ve met and the relationships I’ve formed. I’m in one of the top alliances in the game. Most of us have backed off spending and it’s getting harder and harder to compete and win. Bullying and Pay to play driven.

I stopped playing this game after several months. I tried on two different servers and I just can’t stand. You are bullied, or just told what to do in general. If the server has a hole has an agreement you have to abide by it. It would seem it’s more player run than company run. And yes, unless you have the money you are not helped. That’s all these games are about. The AI standard because they don’t want to pay actual artist it’s disgusting. I uninstall this game a while ago. It had a potential but not with the current company and not where you have to pay to pay to get anywhere and even when you do pay, you have to pay so much to get a good substantial amount of things to even matter. Devs never listen to players - don’t care about stalking

Don’t play this game. I’ve been playing since 2021. The devs don’t listen to players, they don’t care there is BLATANT bullying and stalking using “normal “ game mechanisms. I’ve been stalked during events, in cross kingdom chat, on DI DAILY for over a year and of course on discord which OneMT encourages everyone to participate in. I haven’t engaged with my stalker for 9 months and the abuse is daily. It doesn’t matter - the stalker gets at most a 24 hour mute for verbal abuse (which happens multiple times a week.) I have saved all communication with “customer service” to turn over to law enforcement in case something happens to me. This is a serious complaint and no one at KC/OneMT seems to care at all that people feel unsafe. They won’t do anything because the stalker is a higher VIP than me. Don’t play this unsafe game. I literally had to change my nickname here so that my stalker won’t potentially find me.

Where is state power event

I was surprised by how much I liked this even though it’s an egregious cash-grab using a lot of eye-rollingly-obvious but dangerous addiction-driving psych. The community made it worth it, and many of the game events were pretty fun. I did see some players who I have gotten to know well spending literally thousands of dollars they couldn’t afford and maxing their credit cards but only a few were this vulnerable. I had enough fun to spend a few dollars every month, which I hadn’t planned to do, but could keep spending very manageable and in control. And while some events were overwhelmingly pay to win, some turned out to be easy to rank in well if you were strategic and saved up items, like the things used to increase knight growth. Well, it has been nearly FOUR MONTHS since the last knight growth State Power event. I have lost almost all interest in even opening the app over the last month. What is the point when they lulled everyone into saving all their knight growth items for an event that never comes. Why would I want to play events that depend on knight power when I never get to increase it. It’s obviously to turn the thumb-screws tighter and get more spending from people when they already have to be making literal millions. People spend money on this game at a level I couldn’t have conceived of before playing. (Google King’s Choice VIP levels cost.)

Good game for bullys

There is a lot to like in this game but I wish the developers could come up with a side game where bullying and thieving wasn’t rewarded. Take Snow Mountain Exploration, for example. It’s tough getting altar fragments but as you try to leave to turn them in, along comes a bully to steal them from you. Same goes for almost everything except the Pet Race. Come on, developers, let the good guys win for a change. Not all of us want to steal and bully our way through the game!

Bait and switch

I’ve been playing this game for almost 3 years and while it is fun and addictive at times the developers are so focused on making events that force players to spend more that they are losing the essence of the game. What draws you in is the knight building and strategy of using the knights to win early events but the longer you play they take the events away that are important for your knights and instead introduce events that are all stamina spam making the knights you spent time, effort, and money building mostly useless. The developers also don’t listen to their players. No matter how much the community requests events to return they are ignored. I’ve invested a lot of time and money into this game and I’m starting to regret it. I hope they will change and find a nice balance of old and new events but as of right now it doesn’t appear that will happen.

Free to play, but you have to pay to win

Overview: King’s Choice is a fun game, but it’s more fun when you’re a new player. At times, it feels like it penalises players for sticking around, as basic play become almost impossible to pass unless you spend an eye watering amount of money. There’s walso the usual antics of an internet community, with a mix of good and bad people. Pros: - Side Games. Alongside the main gameplay there are side games. These typically run 2-3 days and can be played as a team or individually. Most are based on existing games like poker, match 3 etc. making it easy to pick up the rules and start. However, some recent additions are more difficult to follow, with lengthy instructions. - Diversity(ish). Over the last 2 years they’ve improved the game diversity – to an extent. Originally, all of the titles were male (Lord, Viscount, King etc.) even though you can select a male or female character, and all the avatars were white. They finally added in female titles (Lady, Viscountess, Queen etc.), although the diversity for the avatars is still limited. I think whoever designed the avatars was a fan of The Tudors as they’re a lot of twins for actors on that show. - Rewards. King’s Choice can be stingy in a lot of ways, but they do give out free rewards pretty regularly. Whenever the server is down for maintenance, you’ll sign in to compensatory rewards. During the holidays, they’ll give out free rewards. Some of these might be time-limited (e.g., avatar frames that are available for use 1 day) but some are valuable resources like gold. Cons: - Cost. The game is free to play, but to make progress you have to pay. Alongside in-game packs, with items designed to help you pass side games, there’s a subscription for regular perks. There are three: (1) weekly £0.79 p/w [£41.08 a year], (2) monthly £4.99 p/m [£59.88 a year] and (3) yearly £46.99 p/y = £150+ for all three. You’d assume you’d get all the perks of weekly plus extras with the monthly/yearly, but each one has separate perks to get you to spend more. -----> To make any real progress, you need the weekly. This automatically collects resources (silver, grain and troops) when you’re not active. -----> The monthly subscription comes with its own tokens, to use in a store, as well as daily gold (the real money in the game, compared to generated silver), Alliance construction points and VIP points (more later). -----> The yearly offers only 20 more gold coins a day than the monthly, a special avatar frame, Alliance construction points and VIP points. You can usually get the yearly subscription discounted around Christmas. - VIP Feature. You can spot the big spenders because they’ll have a high VIP level. All players can get VIP points, which unlocks special collectable Knights and Lovers within the games, but as the amount of points needed to reach the next level gets higher and higher, you have to pay to progress. I had the yearly pack for 1 year and didn’t make it from VIP 5 to VIP 6 despite my daily perk of VIP points. - Progression. Like most games, you fly through the original levels in order to get hooked on the gameplay. It gets harder – but in King’s Choice it’s almost impossible, completely hindering the storyline as the chapters are so spaced apart it’s impossible to remember what’s happening. To pass one Outpost level I used up 40 BILLION troops. If your troops aren’t automatically collected (through the weekly pack) you will never get to this number. - Community. There are some great players within this game, but retention is a real issue. The game has had several Kingdom merges because of the lack of new players replacing those who quit. Personally, I think it comes down to the lack of progression once you reach a higher level. When you spend all that real money and invest so much time in a game only to become stranded, it’s easy to get disillusioned. It weakens Alliances (those have been merged too) and you end up losing a lot of great players.
