Really bad

It’s pretty obvious this company just dose not care there are so many problems. It will not recognize my info so logging on is not possible and then all of a sudden the next day it kicks in and I can control my bike that I paid good money for. I love the bike but if I have no control well I may not buy another Giant product in the future. Fix the app please

Tap here to connect

The app worked great for about 3 weeks beginning of August. Now I’m constantly having to “tap here to connect” in the middle of a ride. I’ve tried to turn off Bluetooth so it’s not trying to connect to other devices and turn it back on, tried turning off wifi so it’s not searching but it’s still it working. And today I noticed it added a section to my ride that I did not take. I know this as my partner has the same app and bike and we rode the same route. His didn’t have an added ghost route.

Ok bike app😀

With this app, I was able to change settings, update bikes software. You can check for updates, perform system check, etc. You can lock and unlock the bike, and setup Apple “Where’s my…” Haven’t found anything that doesn’t work, so have concluded that this app is pretty good.

★★☆☆☆ United Kingdom · v1.33.1 · 12 Jun 2026

OK if you never ride of mobile data range

This is an example of an app which has a completely needless requirement for you to create an account and login so you can access your local property that you have just paid a large amount of money for. If when you launch the app it cannot connect to the servers. It complains that connectivity tells you your login has expired and demands that you login. This is of course utterly impossible if you are mountain biking anywhere exciting where mobile phones have no connectivity. This completely fails to understand mounted biking and the needs of their customers.

Keeps getting worse

Every time I open this to check the total mileage on my bike, it’s a new hassle. Re-login, reconnect your bike, get a bunch of forced updates. This thing is such a huge waste of time and so far from being useful it is unbelievable that the bike is not also unusable. I will never purchase another product from giant and this app is why.

Not too bad for a freebie

Ok maybe not free when considering you’ve paid good money for the bike. I use this on every ride and find it functions well and gives good ride info. Only issue is it doesn’t have auto pause and occasionally after a coffee stop resets ride distance to 0.0 when reconnecting. Strange that the auto upload to Strava seems to reflect both full ride time and distance. Trance X e+ 2 / iPhone 16

This app worked ok 2024 then update 2025 made it worse, with connection issues especially when connecting when on WiFi app crashed when you left home WiFi. Recent update is terrible now it’s not recording distance travelled. When you pause for a stop route is lost. Hopeless

★★★☆☆ United States · v1.25.2 · 31 May 2024

Problems persist worse than ever

I’ve had a few problems with the app. My biggest is forgetting to log in while I have cell service and before I arrive at my trailhead because I usually don’t have cell service where I ride. Otherwise, it won’t open, I can’t see my battery status, speed, etc. It’s a big issue. I hate it but it’s all we’ve got. I’m trying to learn to live with it—by trying to remember to log in while I have cell service and not before I lose it, which can be tricky. However, since the big update, every time the app resets to metric. My profile still says Imperial but my bike control shows me kilometers to empty or kilometers per hour, which doesn’t help me to monitor my speed on public roads. It’s become an issue that when we pause our bike for too long and try to reconnect (like stopping to eat), it again resets my app to metric. My profile still shows Imperial but I can’t get to that while on a ride without closing the ride. In fact, in order to get it to reconnect, I have to close the app and pray it recognizes that I want to continue my ride when I reopen it, which has become the only way to reconnect. However, when I am able to reconnect, it reverts back to metric until I save my ride, go into settings, and then when I back out of settings, everything goes back to Imperial. Until I close and reopen my app again…. Prior to the big change a couple months ago, I loved everything about the app except that I need to log in while I have cell service or I can’t track my ride. The reconnect was a little funny because the “reconnect” would stay lit the rest of the ride even though we’d reconnected. That’s no longer an issue because the reconnect icon isn’t working for me anymore.

Seems to work OK

It worked for me right from the start on a Momentum Voya 3+. I am only interested in mileage and battery level, although the map feature is decent. Ok, but…

It would be great if there were other ways of visualising the ride data, like overlaying the map route with the power or speed data, so you get a better sense of where your efforts need improvement. There could also be some info about how it calculates cal consumption. It would be a nice feature if it saved the data from your connected bikes, so you can see the settings and status info after disconnection. There seems to be so much potential to make a really good app but at the moment it’s a bit mediocre, provides you some information and helps manage the bike, but does the bare minimum. I don’t think this app has seen much love from its developers.

I found a way to copy and paste from Notes but it was tedious. Also, format is YEAR/MONTH/DAY used I think in Asian countries.
