Still going strong.
Amazing continuous support of an app for more than a decade. My Haibike without Bosch is still supported even after Bosch bought Cobi.bike. I’ll be looking at a Bosch powered bike whenever my bike decides to pack it in. My bike is 8 years old now.
Incredibly buggy
Haven’t been able to use the app properly because the “safety consent” screen refuses to accept my button press.
My Trek Allant + 8S
The Cobi app is good. One thing I wish it supported was radar. Would be helpful to not have to run two different bike computers at the same time.
Disappointing
Number one, you can’t even access your phone when it is in the hub, that doesn’t make any sense at all. After that, it’s not intuitive. And if you make a mistake of swiping on your phone then it ends your ride for no reason. It also does system checks often which shuts down the pedal assist. No fun on big hills. Dangerous actually.
Schriftart schlechter
Gern geschehen.
Great App
Love it
Really bad software…looking for an alternative…
The screen display truncates everything, especially music that is being played. No total mileage display on the bike. Too many button pushes to navigate through very user unfriendly menus. Using the iPhone is really stupid. The iPhone 17 pro max display is not anywhere near bright enough to be seen in direct sunlight.
Weather
Lost my weather reads, how to get back?
Still missing basic capabilities
I’ve reviewed this before but nothing has been done. This app does not work in portrait mode on an iPhone. This app is made for Trek bicycles but does not have Trek bike wheel sizes. All measurements are metric but Trek makes English Standard wheel sizes which do not translate to metric so speed and distance readings are always wrong. What is the point of the app if not to tell speed and distance? Please, don’t just thank me for the information if you’re not going to fix the problems.
Nutzung allgemein
Great App in many ways
This app is great. Love the functionality and features plus the ability to use and charge my phone while riding. There's maps, music and peddle assist controls available. What I want to change is how the app turns my bike on automatically and I want to be able to turn it off from the app. Would also like to adjust bike settings such as idle time out and lights on at power up. Ride on ❗
Compass is Kapuut
I have an IPhone and when I use the COBI app the compass is off by 90 degrees. Always. This should be a simple fix, but according to the reviews it’s existed since the app was introduced. From Bosch: Hi Keeterone, COBI compass is always following Apple Maps. When the shift in direction occurs in COBI App it is also happens in Apple Maps and after some seconds in the iPhone compass. We are dependent on Apple Maps here. Your Bosch eBike Team" Sorry Bosch e-bike Team but this is not true. Apple Maps works fine. Apple compass works fine, too. COBI app is kaput. The compass is 90 degrees off. Always. When I’m going North COBI says I’m going West. When I’m going West COBI says im going South, etc, etc. It’s always off by 90 degrees. Please let me know if I can help you troubleshoot this. I’d like to see this fixed.
Syncing problems causes 🤬
Like the app. Don’t like the occasional syncing hiccups with strava, along with the assertion that the file can be retrieved somehow nowhere else! I’ve been forced to try several times over the years and have been unsuccessful each time.
Frequent problems
Well, the app is a nice idea. There are many bugs that don’t seem to be fixed and no answers and no help available online. I’ve had to reinstall the app three times when it would not connect via Bluetooth even when the Bluetooth on my phone said it was connected. Also it is said that the battery is not installed even though the lights are on and the bike would work without the app. Developer needs to update this software and provide support for the app.
Navigation
Difficult to zero out last ride
It’s not easy to find the place to cancel the last ride.
Mileage
It would be nice if it held information for 3 runs. Knocks off and you lose your total mileage
Works great … when it works
My app has problems staying connecting to my iPhone (and Samsung beforehand) and stays stuck on the opening screen. Sometime it just closes the app. Frustrating.
Fonts got weird in this latest July 2026 update
The fonts got weird in this latest update. Any way to revert to the old non-serif font? It’s more difficult to read the display now. It was a simple Helvetica before, now some odd stretched serif font. Bad looking.
Can’t figure out how to turn off at ride end and zero miles
Very Poorly designed app
Horrible for first time users

Danke!
Solid app outside of navigation options.
**Update- I posted this review months back and Bosch responded with an email saying I should reach out to their support. I did. No response. I followed up, no response again. I followed up one more time and still no response. I’m removing another additional star for the lack of customer service. Long and short of it, this is a pretty half hearted app for a premium (expensive) system. Highly recommend anything other than the smartphone hub if investing in an e-bike with Bosch components. —— The app works great outside of 2 issues. First is the warning screen on connection- would love it if the app remembered my settings. Second issue is the navigation. The available options aren’t great (at least in NYC). Would love Google map routes and turn by turn integration. Hope to see these two updates in future releases.
Could be better
Why is the heart rate in Navigation instead of Fitness? During a ride the App just stopped working. Why is there not a “reset” tab instead of entering the program to delete ride data
On a Trek Rail
I really enjoy having all my info on my phone. I use it with the Apple Watch and I can really get the most out of my ride and my bike. :)
It’s worth using
It feels clunky compared to the apps that I’m used to using. It only rotates one direction when you turn your phone. I use it every time I ride, but it only logs one out of four rides and saves the data and I can’t figure out why it does this. You can’t use voice commands and while riding, it won’t let your phone announce text messages through your AirPods!!!
Lacking QA
The Cobi.Bike concept is fantastic. Your phone is almost always going to be more capable than any bike computer available on the market. It’s just a shame that this is what Bosch has let the product become. The app is plagued with UX issues, from the compass not being properly aligned on iOS, location data being misinterpreted and inaccurately labeling your location, to the instability issues where the app might just crash in the middle of a ride. It’s sad to see the system become this, especially when stock equipped on bikes that cost over $7,000 USD. If Bosch were to open source parts of the ecosystem, the community could fix this themselves, but this is what we’re left with. Just another case of a conglomerate buying a promising startup, only to butcher their product and leave it to die.
Needs improvement
Mapping our rides is horrible. No easy way to pause ride so you can use your phone, and when you do, it still stops the ride half the time. Our last 30 mile ride was like 6 session’s instead of one.
Only let down is the maps
Unfortunately the map databases in the UK available to use do not have all the cycle paths so the device sometimes takes you on to the road
Not ready for prime time
Frustrating is the first word that comes to mind with this app and integration to the bike. The app is mediocre at best. The contrast should be higher and for as much real estate as it has (your entire phone), it doesn’t use it very well. All of the metrics on left side are too small and the contrast is too weak to be readily useable by a rider. The fonts are narrow given the space it has to display and functions on the right are cool, but again hard to see, especially in sun wearing sunglasses. The worst is the integration to the bike. The holder is not universal and has a far too small channel to hold a newer phone. My phone was jarred out after I dropped off a curb. It fell out on two other occasions and now I use a rubber band to hold it in place. It is also rather cheaply made and the first one broke, fortunately Trek replaced it under warranty. Finally, it does not track or save your ride. Virtually all bike apps save rides, but not Cobi. If I had known the above, I would have bought a Specialized.
Low battery limit too high
I’ve been using my cobi equipped e-bike for about 4 years, now and was able to do my 24 mile commute with no problems. The latest September 2022 update apparently set the low battery cut off at 15 percent and it left me with no assist on the last big hill before I get back to my house. It’s a little annoying to say the least. Bosch could have left well enough alone and it would have been fine.
Navigation
Iv only had my bike for a month or so. But I do love the app. It dose need some work. I would like it to work with other apps for bike rides like strava or ride with gps. So I can us the route from those other apps on my Navi for the app
Superb
I am struggling to understand why this app has such poor reviews. I find it fantastic. Works like a dream and no issues at all. Notice some of the reviews are very old and maybe things have improved. If I was buying my bike again I would spec it with this and the smartphone hub. I use with iPhone so maybe that is why it works so well?
Only one ride history
The total miles on the bike are not shown and only the last ride is shown.
Teilweise Französisch?!
Die App ist komplett auf Deutsch eingestellt. Alles gut soweit.
Bosch should be humiliated
To think that Bosch could make, and Trek could integrate and mass market, such a horrible app is mind boggling. I have an app for a $200 crowdfunded weather station that works flawlessly in all kinds of connectivity situations with complex data. The bike is $7k, and I would bet that at least a grand of that goes to Bosch. If the connectivity with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and internet are not perfect the f—ing will not sync. Hey, teenage developers: the network world isn’t always perfect, it isn’t always like in the lab. You need to sync data across a broad spectrum of edge cases. Absolutely shameful software dev for 2020+. Any developer who worked for me and did this piece of garbage would get fired.
Fair to it has potential
This came with my New E bike from Trek and I was excited to see it in action. Work but there is very little writing or video instructions on the device and the UI. Lots of rings and measurements but unsure how the UI displayed the data. Navigation could be better with planning routes and saving routes. Music play stops playing occasionally for some unknown reason. Would like to customize my UI but can’t do that as it was advertised at one time. Too bad it has a lot of potential to be a good stand alone device!
Love it
Takes a couple of minutes for setup but I love this app. Able to lose 20 pounds riding this bike everywhere. Thanks!!!
Horrible interface
Just have a pause and end button easily accessible. Make the maps consistent with other mapping software but featuring bikes. This is not a good app for bikers.
Gesamtkilometerzähler fehlt
Tolle App, funktioniert bestens, tolle Features aber: warum in aller Herren Namen gibt es keinen Gesamtkilometerzähler?
Useless functionality
Only thing more disappointing than this app is the cobi bike mount which I’ve dubbed the smartphone slingshot. Use it at your peril.
Good App but one complaint
I wish I could control Apple Music through the app when biking.
Amazing to just use the iPhone
This is so much better than the Bosch system. I only need one device and it provided everything I need. Hopefully they will install these as standard.
They could do so much more
But why, when they can make new stuff and charge more for it
Great but have to run through the set up
I like the many nice features of this app and find them really useful. What is very annoying about this up is that I have to run through the set up after 2 or 3 rides again. It seems to be random how often I have to run the set up. Please fix this. Very annoying if you just want to hop on and go.
Improve Stability for Intiva
App keeps disconnecting from hub @ <8 on turbo. Fitness module no longer works. Integration with new Nylon app would be preferred. Is Intiva still supported?l
Nick Thoughts
Still needs a lot of work. The biggest problem is waking the hub up! I have just completed a trip from Lands End to John O’Groats and the number of hub reboots was unacceptable. Every time I walked away from the bike with my iPhone it would often just not reconnect. The Navigation is poor as it often takes you down totally unsuitable paths. The battery life indicator shows distance left in miles but talks to you in kilometres which needs sorting.
