Stig for PM please 🤗
Just the best radio programmes and journalists, and I’ve listened to BBC for 40 years. Common sense prevails here 👏 and no fear of asking poignant questions of politicians.
Times = Farage?
Sounds like a Reform party political Conference
One improvement please
I love Times radio. Please add live restart pause as if I missed the beginning of the program. I want to listen to it from the start. You can do this on BBC Sounds.
Frustrating
Very unreliable ~ often have to turn my iPad off and on again for the App to play. Such a pity as it’s a great station with terrific guests.
Lightweight
The morning programme is often too chatty. I understand the need to keep it conversational, but I really have no interest in whether Stig wears flip flops or shorts to the office. A bit more gravitas would be appropriate.
Times radio
Love it all, presenters & content.
No back button
No back button on live broadcasts
Query?
Is it possible like for eg with bbc i player to play live - then replay - go back as if have hearing deficit cannot always catch all communication first time around?
Biased
Unfortunately the team putting together the output for the shows 6-10am slot are very biased! I stopped listening to the today programmes on Radio 4 because of the left wing bias portrayed only to find that more recently Times Radio is doing the same. Surely you should be honest and say that you are giving a left wing slant to the news or pay more attention to your output if you wish to be a fair unbiased news station. Very sad as I had such high hopes …..
Wish you could pause & rewind
I feel frustrated that you can’t pause or rewind live radio. I will often listen while doing other things and then mishear or want to go back to see what’s being discussed. Would you please enable this feature in the same way other radio apps do please. Thank you
Best
The best radio station in the UK by a mile. Never listen to anything else.
Dreadful update
Not customer focused. I just want to listen to the radio. Update doesn’t wrk. Apps that update a without the option of ignoring the update occurs when the technology overrules marketing. Do better
Curates Egg
Stig and Kate, Rifkind, Vasey, great. Fi and Jane, Hazarika, late night chap ghastly.
Radio radio
I like Hugo Rifkind & I don’t care much for many of the talking heads that are bought on to give their views in other shows as I find they skew too much to the right of politics such as the ubiquitous Peter Cardwell & Tim Montgomery & their ilk
Annoying
Good reports even though most are lifted straight from the paper however the ads are getting more frequent which is annoying. Also Stig rattles away much too fast.
A refreshing change.
Times gives a varied view with quality presenters injected with a little humour. A refreshing change from the established speech radio presenters..
What’s the point of Stig Abell?
I would have thought that you could find someone a lot more capable of hosting the morning show than Stig Abell. He’s not entertaining to listen to. His reactions to Kate McKann aren’t especially sparky or clever. He doesn’t have the ability to open up a subject conversationally. He’s no genius when it comes to interviewing your guests. I just don’t get why you value him so much. There are so many better qualified presenters.
Perfect, but…..
I’ve listened from day 1, when I’m sure someone, might have been Giles Coren, said there wouldn’t be adverts but programmes would be ‘sponsored’, which was fine. I still listen every day, love the programmes but hate the adverts - especially recent Gambling ones - and too-frequent ones like Curry’s. I tried to go back to Radio 4, lasted half an hour!!! So, one star lost, will be regained if fewer adverts, I guess none would be impossible now.
Unreliable
A good radio station but a very poor app. Eg keeps dropping off, no rewind facility. Just very clunky.
App is good
The app is good shame that it is basically 95% Tory Party radio with an amuse-bouche of left wing balance. Presented by a mixture of disgruntled BBC renegades and a few failed Tory politicians voted out and so without a job. It’s warm and cosy but becomes deeply irritating, as if there just list enough right leaning media in the uk. Play spot the shameless Times newspaper plugs for amusement.
GeorgiePeebs
Times radio is a fun , fascinating and intellectual haven . I love it ! Keep up the great work people. Xx
Typical so called improvement
App has always had snags but the last update has ruined it. On iPhone or iPad getting station to start is erratic & once connected stops broadcasting repeatedly for first minute or two. Frustratingly back to Sounds.
Supper
Bonjour Madame monsieur j’ai plaisir à vous écouter ça me permet d’apprendre l’anglais bonne journée
Phone overheating
I love Times radio and listen everyday. Giving 3 stars because the recent app update causes my phone to overheat and the battery drains very fast. Otherwise would be 5 stars.

App update means I can no longer listen.
The recent app update now means that I can no longer listen to Times Radio unless I’m tethered to my PC. The app requires an OS later than my oldish, but functional, tablet will allow. This is so frustrating. Companies are defo losing users/customers because of this. I’m not buying new tech every time an app leaves me behind. Beyond disappointed.

Addressing ‘racism’ In a realistic manner!
Crashes constantly
App constantly shuts down and in particular can’t cope with any other big app being opened when it’s playing. Glad the awful, cackling, attention seeking Mir has gone and at first I thought McCann was great. But as time has gone on it’s become obvious she has absolutely zero general knowledge outside her knowledge of politics and it grates. “Didn’t know that”, “never heard of that”, “I didn’t get that”, “don’t know where that is”, “did you know that Kate? ‘nope’” every single day. We are talking widely known facts here - she’s clearly an intellectual lightweight with deep knowledge of one subject in life that she’s managed to leverage. Listening to her next to Stig whose general knowledge is superb is embarrassing.
The Best UK Radio News Station Bar None
I habe listened to Times Radio since day one four years ago. I had previously listen to Radio 4 Today etc. Times Radio utilising the global network of journalists plus the largely excellent choice of presenters make this station compelling listening. Stig and Kate from 6:00 am exemplify what good presenting is all about. Serious when required, they very rarely Interrupt when interviewing. They realise it is not all about them! They also have a chemistry and sense of humour which appeals whilst avoiding that rabbit hole called Radio 5. I also enjoy John Pienaar, Ed Vaizey, Andrew Neil, Hugo. Rifkind, Adam Boulton,Ayesha Hazarilka and many others. If you haven’t sampled Times Radio, I would suggest you give it a go!
More bias please
How about a bit more bias in your ‘reporting’? When some claims they have been stabbed, is it ‘understandable’ that the police handcuff the claimant, as your invited speaker implied…
Inexplicably good.
I’m not British or in the UK; nor am I in Europe, yet I listen to the Times Radio when I’m not listening to anything else. It’s simply excellent.
Speed settings
Decent enough app, but I like to listen at 1.5. Can that be offered when listening back?
Times radio
Times Radio is Like a trust worthy friend with great humour. Great incisive persistent questioning gives us a better insight into the shenanigans of the government and geo politics. Can’t live without it.
Useless on older iPhone
I have an older version of this app on my iPhone SE …. And the Times insists on trying to update the app which can’t be done on this phone which doesn’t have ios16 so I can’t use the app … well done Times 🙄
5 stars for content, 3 for app
Times Radio has largely replaced Radio 4 for for me. Quality of journalism, debate, programme content and presenters just so much better. Unfortunately app is problematic. Just stops working every so often so have to delete and reload
Too many commercials
As a Times subscriber, would like to listen commercial/sponsor free.
Jane & Fi
Must listen enjoy
iOS 15 version not available
The latest update locks out older iPhones that can only use iOS 15. The latest Times Radio app update can only use iOS 16 or newer. The download from the App Store says the older Times Radio app is available but it just loops you back to the new Times Radio app. You need to insure the older Times Radio app is still available for listeners with older iPhones.
Fantastic radio poor app
I absolutely love Times Radio, it’s top in my radio stations. I can’t do without the morning weekdays shows but unfortunately the app bugs all the time. It stops on its own, closes and just functions poorly generally. Please improve that!
No iPad app?
Somewhat strangely there's no iPad version of the app
Great concise detail
Really love the ease of using app and having great journalists on my Smart speaker, anywhere I am in the world. The short news on the hour is informative and concise.
Listener from US
This is a biased and dis-informative radio station. In talk radio, they are extremely racist. Once they were discussing that British culture is the best and making fun of the American, African, and Asian cultures.
CarPlay please
What would improve this app no end is CarPlay.
content great, app buggy
Great content, for free. The app itself is buggy though, cuts out quite a bit
