MTG Fun
My son wanted me to play MTG with him. At first I hated it, but after a year of LGS tournaments and deck building, I absolutely find it fascinating building each deck and seeing how all the different strategies come together.
Screws you on mana
Even at 35 % mana, you get hosed. That’s all.
worth playing
it’s a great way to learn to play- with a a generous amount to do for something that’s free. worst part about it is you can’t minimize the app or momentarily to to your home screen without game play resetting
did not git gud
thought i’d enjoy learning to play mtg but getting ground into dust -126 points and doing no damage was a tipping point . i can win one every now and then but it just doesn’t seem very fun to me if you can just buy all the best cards 😅
Not beginner friendly
I get learning from better players. Playing the Starter deck duels are no fun. Other games i play they try and pair you with a similar level player. On this it’s like the level 100 player against me at level 2 all the time. Not fun.

Fun but buggy
Often find myself unable to select cards. Crashes every so often.
Frequent updates great in theory but not so much in real life.
If 4-7 days have passed and you grab your phone for a quick match, since you have a moment, chances are you encounter a message notifying you there is an update needed in order to play. Sometimes they are small but other times you get hit with updates in the gigabytes. At least if you could update and do something else while that is loading but no, you need to stay stuck in the update screen otherwise it will pause and even cancel the update.
I love the game but…
Lose the new interface for deck building. It’s glitched and it’s inconvenient and generally worse than the old interface.
Not a game
They won’t do board states, so it’s a fortune teller app, not a game.
Standard Limited
Please add a standard limited game mode so that you can play and practice with the current sets cards. It’s so frustrating that you either have to pay gems or gold to play in a limited setting, or play at a huge disadvantage in the modern standard play.
Do not waste your time
I’m a veteran TCG player who’s played Hearthstone, Pokémon, Magic and more for 10+ years. I also tend to be a free-to-play player. And let me tell you… If you do not spend money on this game, this game is not your friend. Having spent $0 on MTG Arena, I find it odd that I’m repeatedly put in extremely unfortunate circumstances when games matter most. 3-1 in a draft? How about 8/12 cards in game 5 are lands. Need that *last* win to secure enough gems for a season pass? Here’s an opponent who’s miles ahead of you on ladder. Losing on ladder with a tempo deck and decide to switch to control? Boom. Now everyone’s playing aggro. I know it sounds crazy to say that a game would sabotage a random nobody player. Maybe it’s just REALLY bad luck. However, the examples above are all true. And they continue to happen time and time again.
Please get ride of shrine decks
For the love of God, please put all shrine cards on the banned list or just make a new format for just shrine decks. They are the most OP cards and ruins the fun of this game

Super fun and endless replay with new decks and combos! Would love to see a 1v1v1 feature so I could play with more friends at once will it ever happen idk if help if I could lol
They took away ability to get real cards
Just corporate nonsense trying to ruin the game. Don’t forget all we are to Hasbro are “parachute drops” All we are is a income to them, they ruin our game and disgrace us
Yugioh Convert
Of course MtG is a good card game. Arena itself has probably the best tutorial and starter mode of any game I’ve ever played, not just TCGs. The app is solid, it’s what I would expect from a company with as many resources as Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro with only a few small UI annoyances.

Card game shouldnt take this much space from my phone
New Update Broke Deck Builder
The new update has broken the deck builder. Can’t see cards properly on mobile, freezes and crashes on mobile. The app itself is standard mobile mlg p2w format - but having it be mtg does make it fun; can never replace paper format.

Not a pay to win. Can grind to get gold to buy the cards you want or use wildcards you earn to get the cards you want, or can just buy packs w/ gold, etc
Complete Garbage
I would give this zero stars if I could but Apple won’t let me. Completely bogus rating filled with made up reviews. This is absolute toxic Magic and damages both the brand and any sort of customer experience. DO NOT spend a single cent on this game. It is literally designed to steal your $$$. If are not plying actual people you are playing against decks that are specifically build to destroy whatever deck you might have built. Stay far far far away from this abomination.
Game Abandonera
There should be some mechanism to track players that quit the game when they’re losing and thus making the winning player have to wait for a timer. Perhaps some kind of question posed to the quieter to find out what caused the game to “disconnect”
Borderline Unplayable on Mobile
I love magic and arena makes playing 1v1 easy but you probably won’t actually GET to play on this app. Between crashes, glitches, players going afk, and insane queue times, this app and server is genuinely terrible and it seems like it’s always getting worse.
Downloads and updates are too much
I just dropped my rating from 4 stars to 3 because of the content updates and downloads I just downloaded 860mb yesterday and now today they want me to update and download 3.5gb like are you serious? This looks like the beginning of the end for me
Finally
After years of trying to get friends to teach me and trying to find the time now I have this. It gave me a solid concept of the game and I love it. Careful though it will consume you.
Enormous downloads literally every 5 days
Sets release every few months, what could it possibly need to download every week? I spend as much time on the download screen as playing the game.

Predatory micro transactions
It’s a good game but it’s the standard playbook to extract the maximum money out of players while obscuring the true cost of things you’re buying, and forcing you to buy multiple packages. Don’t fall for the one time beginner offers.
Update Sizes are RIDICULOUS!
Great app! Absolutely love it! BUT im fixing to have to uninstall the app because every single update is 2GB+ every single time. I have no more storage for this app alone currently is 1# at 6.5GB of storage used fixing to increase by 3GB for 1 update
Better than Masterduel
Grew up playing Yugioh and tried getting back into it with Masterduel. Absolute trash. Arena is great at onboarding new players. Most importantly, it’s fun.
WORST RNG EVER, RIGGED
This has to be a joke right? The shuffler “smoothing” is complete BS. You either get land flooded or mana never comes. You can tell when you get your hand if you’ve played long enough whether you win or lose. You play a normal 60 card deck? Get housed by a guy running 260 with amazing draws! I mean this game is a literal joke and all the developers should be fired. Statically there’s more of a chance aliens land and take over than the insane rigged draws you get. I mean four of the same cards in the opening hand constantly?!?! No matter what you run the game makes it to where even the losers win with terrible decks so there’s no point to waste money. This game is RNG hell and it should be investigated. Title of worst ever RNG gameplay goes to this piece of TRASH game. I wish the store would allow 0 stars, 1 star is above and beyond what this game is. RIP OFF AND RIGGED AVOID!
Pretty good!
I wouldn’t say pay to win. They do give you the ability to select any card you want to unlock with the wild cards. So OP cards aren’t limited to luck but it is annoying to get cards especially with the daily CAP (which is never a feature I appreciate) on XP and coins.

Love the game, but it requires an insane amount of large downloads quite frequently that take a really long time even on reliable Wi-Fi.
MTG nerd
Love playing the game IRL but here I dont have to pay crazy prices to play test a deck. The intuitivo controla are amazing and help teach you game mechanics.
Game Match is Rigged to push pay to win
It’s unfortunate, I’d love to buy packs and build out decks in this game simply for the love of the game, but their matching mechanics intentionally match you to bad matchups depending on your deck selection, it’s actually not possible to adjust your decks to try and use something based on the types of decks you have been seeing, because as soon as you adjust your deck type you now see different matches, basically 90% of the time it just matches you to whatever your weakness is to create the illusion you need better cards, the problem is the cards don’t matter, they will just match you elsewhere. The busted matching mechanics have kept me from spending a lot in this game, I love MTG and there’s not much local activity for it, this could be a great fit to get that fix, but it’s clear the mechanics would keep it from ever being fun even when you understand the game.

Ignoring the fact that the formats are designed to make playing very difficult for newcomers as the draft modes require payment of in-game currency, the app crashes very often. Which is especially annoying when you have paid in-game currency to enter an event.
Played for years
Have played this game for years. They need a way to create value in actual paper format by having wins and gold acquired be transferred into actual card purchase. We also really need a way to go directly at a player as a friend while playing.

Rigged
Shuffler is 100% rigged without any shred of a doubt. Game will clearly tilt land draw and cards to favor you or your opponent no matter what is in your deck based on mana curve. People regularly abuse this by putting the maximum 250 cards in their deck and yet still regularly draw lands and the curve. This needs to be addressed, otherwise DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE MONEY.
Very fun but..
Magic in Standard format is very fun but your chances of winning/losing increase/decrease significantly if you are the first to play or not... The standard format that we have right now is very diverse, but also very aggressive. If you don't play first, u better have a veryyyyyyy good first hand as you will get wrecked in 3 turns if not! I really hope they will add 4players commander Soon... this would be so much fun ! But i understand they want the focus to be on physical card for that format. Maybe one dayyyy

Every time i try to play with this app it has to be updated or download gigabytes of data. it’s very tiring. Quite fun when you get to play.
Magic, the magicing, gatheringly
Great fun, those complaining about it being pay to win and all that have never played the actual card game, this is so much more accessible. Honestly, the in-game currencies are like a progression system. You can totally play for free, I am and I’m having a blast. The gold is quite generous if you play like, a few quick matches a day, and that can go towards packs, which also give you wildcards which let you choose singles for free, and even access to drafts and other events where you can earn packs, gems and all other sorts of goodies.

Mostly not pay to win
I haven’t spent a cent on the game and have managed to still have a lot of fun with deck building. Paying certainly fast tracks progress but that’s the same with the irl tcg.
Great app when it wants to load
I honestly really like playing on this app, it’s a lot of fun and there’s always fun quests to get coins to purchase items. However more often than not as of the last updated the game isn’t loading on my phone. It constantly tells me to check connects, that I don’t have the latest update. Even when I switch between wifi and data, put both on and the App Store saids theirs no update and to open the game. It’s honestly very frustrating for the amount of space it takes up. I’m honestly debating just getting rid of the app entirely after this.
