Perfect for gooning
Update UI sucks.
At first this app was cool to use, I’ve enjoyed the updates, whimsical adventures, many from games & movies I admire, however, the adult content in this app makes me cringe to my core. Some stuff is just sickening & some of these “Writers” need to be investigated. The other UI was so much easier to navigate, they got rid of the rewind story cursor, put trash in bookmarks area. Who decided these were a good upgrade? Fire them. That’s all I have to say.
Reading
I absolutely love writing books and I like if we had an option next under the play adventure option to “read” it would be really helpful to creators who are trying to publish their work! Of course I don’t want to take away from the AI point of the game but I think it would be a really fun idea to see other people’s stories if allowed and I know I would love posting my work!
Really forgetful so
Was fun at the start but by day 2 it was forgetting I for, treating animals like humans, I think I reached level 20 for my character about 5 times and it kept reducing me back to level 10, it has no memory of the milestones you reach, within 10-20 actions it completely forgets everything and you have to keep rewinding to make sure you constantly mention skills you have or followers you have.

It’s a fun app, but the ai will start to make things up? Or misinterpret what you say like if I go “I sit down” then all of a sudden the ai sat down and I’m stood over them

barely usable on mobile due to bugs
The UI is bugged to hell. I can’t tap on any scenario to view more details, or get to the comments and story cards. I can’t tap on images to enlarge them. I can’t tap on my own account to get to bookmarked scenarios. All of this worked perfectly fine a few updates ago, and are all completely broken now. The only thing that still works is the play button, so unless I go on desktop, I have to choose if I wanna play a scenario based on a title, picture, and like ten words that fit on the description in the search tab. It’s a great app that’s really fun, but fix the damn bugged UI. It’s infuriating.
Wow!
I am so glad I found this app. I'm still learning so don't quite know how I feel yet. But I can say so far I am absolutely loving this app. The voice over for an iPhone is very good.
Going downhill
Since the recent updates the stories seem to be lacking in replies. Constantly getting empty replies and have to regenerate them at least three times before I get anything. Stories are also reaching their max tokens within a short amount of playing a storyline I feel the paid tiers have also changed.
Why
This game is very good but for someone reason when I go to my profile and stuff my screen just keeps on scrolling up to nowheree against my will

Been playing for years and I can’t get enough of it
No control
Even the narrative and dialogue of your character is written by the artificial intelligence, causing your character to say and do things that you didn’t want them to say or do you have no control of the situation.
Really good, but crashes
I’ve been playing for a while and after the new update it’s started crashing a lot during adventures. It still words but is quite annoying since I have to constantly close out the app and go back in.
Good but
The app and Devs. Have done a good job but you have reload the app majority of the time. if you start a new scenario while the app has been running with a previous scenario. it request you “sign in” it’s such a pain after filling in the details. You try to login again it does nothing so you have to reload the app. Then you gotta remember what scenario you clicked on. I’m a bit disappointed in that. Also the AI memory is not great.
It broke
The game broke and with the new update I can no longer publish scenarios due to the fact the rating system is broken for me I also can’t play other peoples scenarios for some reason

The diversity and creativity are welcome surprises. And it’s interesting to see what others come up with.
Horrible memory retention
I got roughly 200 lines in and just deleted that game. There were too issues with memory retention. My ally transformed into a snake for stealth and was being described as walking around as a human in the next two lines. And I went back to the stater town and none of the names I was given for people or locations were the same. I had to be the one to try to correct the AI memory in game but it was too far gone. I was interested in my story but just deleted it instead.
I have no complaints… Or do i?
Not really a complaint, just venting. I understand that when we pay for a subscription we get credits to use towards increasing the context length, and you generally get boost anyways but i feel like there should be more benefits! I pay for mythic and get a lot of credits but no matter what… the ai models always eat up story memory like no other and when you want to build a stronger world, you can’t because the context length will inevitably fill up faster because of the amount of story cards fighting each other for the output. I just wish i had more benefits other than credit usage. Yeah, i do buy more credits when i run out, but i feel like for the amount im paying for, i am getting what i payed for… right?
Fun but UI is unusable
The app has many scenarios and much choice for customising ai settings, etc. it’s fun, I’ve played since 2019. But the UI makes the app genuinely unusable at this point. Touchscreen stops working completely when you go to edit text, text scrolls itself up off screen so you can’t see it when editing, can’t scroll through sections, etc. I have to close and reopen the app what feels like ten times every ten minutes. They need to just start from scratch with the UI and overhaul it in my opinion.
It’s decent
It’s decent there are issues especially if you want to do an RPG based off an already existing thing, game, show or anime. Where it struggles to really retain any knowledge of the character’s or uses versions of the character’s which aren’t at that part of the story yet, it’s got a lot of decent ideas, but in my personal opinion, your better off going with ISEKAI Zero, it has persona’s etc, but I can see an argument for this over that in some scenarios
Love it
The only real problem I have is the ai messes up but I know it will never be perfect. Another thing you should add is a specific tab like the plot, but instead it’s like a reminder because sometimes the ai just forgets, and yes you could buy the other versions but I think it would be a nice addition for Free to play players.
Absolute junk!
The program kept freezing and locking up every two minutes I had to reset it reset the Messages, and it just killed all the fun of the game. Great concept but this thing is garbage.
So much better
This app started out fantastic. As soon as they introduced their upgraded AI systems, the original app took a dive, horribly. I canceled my subscription and stopped playing for a long time. However, after hoping back on recently, I’ve noticed it’s gotten much better. The AI goes along with every ridiculous story you tell it. I love it again and if it stays as good as I’ve seen it, I may have to upgrade to a subscription again. Thanks for the improvements, this is once again my favorite AI story telling app.
Improve on literally everything.
The memory is horrendous even if given flashcards, it makes the characters unlike their personality or gets their appearance completely wrong and doesn't give deuteragonists/main character's friends or random characters the chance to do anything?? Like I don't need 5000 people relying on the protagonist to do everything just for the scenario to begin.
Ripped off
The app is good but if you use a prepaid card to buy a month subscription it will cut your subscription short when the prepaid is used up.
Continuously getting better
I’ve been playing this since like 2021 and it’s continuously gotten updates and improved. It internalizes player feedback, is totally playable without subscriptions (even a basic subscription makes a major difference though) and is something that I’ve began using more frequently as it’s gotten better. AI Dungeon was literally one of the first generative models with emergent creativity, pre-dating ChatGPT and just about everything else by over a year and a half. If you want the original experience, this is as close as you’re getting to the first AI, it’s only gotten better.

This is really helpful in bringing your imagination to life and you can make a variety of stories it’s not like game master where it narrates your actions and you can’t have as much fun and freedom. Plus there’s also a huge variety of different scenarios to explore and look through. It just depends on what you’re looking for and what you feel like playing!

Game breaks eventually
Usually the game will break after reaching the first main goal. For me it was go to the archives. After I got there and stole everything the plan was still go to the archives. Ive become king? Go to the archives. Ask my follower what they want to do? Go to the archives.
It’s amazing and so adaptable and incredible
It really is amazing and pretty good. I definitely love this version of storytelling.
Looks cool
The game looks really fun but have been trying to play story’s with no success. I even tried to pay for a subscription with a free trial and still the story’s don’t load.
Greatly Improved Over The Years
The app has improved so greatly over the years that it’s became the premiere example of the power of AI in story telling and entertainment. The recent push towards more consistent updates and QOL features like directing the AI towards a story direction is phenomenal. My only complaint is that there’s very little reward to making creations, and there is a clear bias towards NSFW creators and content. I’d love to see NSFW toned down, and top creators be rewarded to some degree with either credits or membership being comped due to providing content.
AI needs improvement
I’ve used this app for a good 4/5 years now and it’s always been a favourite of mine, now that ai has improved in recent years I would’ve expected by now that the ai would be much better, especially when it comes to memory. I’ve been struggling with the story telling as the ai is constantly forgetting what previously was said/done or it’ll repeat itself and get itself stuck in a loop, I’m constantly having to edit and change stuff which is quite off putting now. Overall I can’t get through a story without the ai making a new one up because it forgot what was previously said. Again great app but the ai is pretty outdated now and just isn’t as fun as what it used to be
What happend
It was really good and I loved how much diversity it has garnered. But the responses are not repetition that only changes if you keep going back and forth between Ai models.

I like trying a different story every day. It’s refreshing and fun.
Infuriating
Completely infuriating to use, the ai writes for you like you’re a stupid 4 year old who can’t do anything for themself.

PLEASE allow us to choose from our photo album what profile we want! Please! It’s not fair that we have to choose ai generated photos. I want different pictures. Please create that feature.
AI gets confused
After a while the AI starts to forget what’s happened and starts mixing characters up. Completely ruining the story.
Needs to work better
Ai can be stupid App closes or shuts down at times on it’s own or just goes to a black screen.

Memory?
I’d love to give it anything higher, but it gets incredibly frustrating that it tends to forget stuff less than 2 lines later, and it is repetitive. It can easily forget who you play and don’t bother with plot cards, somehow they have no consequence.
Missing something
-story pace is broken by the slowness of adding next story paragraph (both Continue or Take a turn). -No language translation for an AI?? Come on -missing an avatar tab to show your class, inventory, health.
Bugged to hell
The game used to be a good time, but after the ui change he game has been nothing but problems. As a creator it annoys me whenever I try to write anything in a prompt but the text box wont select, or the letters are invisible, or the ui got squished to be one pixel tall. This forced overhaul required much more development and should not be considered ready for public access.
Too much tinkering required
It’s kind of fun at first you soon realize it’s full of ridiculous limitations and you need to make a side hobby of understanding how the app works and the AI works too.

Greatest AI Story Maker Ever!
Unuseable
When I click play and click on create a scenario, the menu doesn't go back down and I can't swipe it away or anything, making it impossible for me to create a scenario.
Good App, but…
Recently, today actually, there’s this glitch where I can’t access my stuff anymore; the app seems to think I’m a different person who’s looking at my profile page. Nothing I do fixes it, so if you guys can fix this glitch, that’d be great.👍
Phoenix Update Clearly Wasn’t Tested on Mobile
I have been using AI dungeon for a few years now, and I think it is great. The recent phoenix update though is horrible. AI dungeon isn’t tailored for mobile users and I get that. There probably aren’t many. The mobile experience was always buggy but always playable. The phoenix update however, makes the app unplayable on mobile. Search kicks you out to the main menu when you click on a result, the “say, do, etc” menu when you take a turn is so buggy and small on a screen that the keyboard that pops up hides it, you have to scroll to undo now, and for some reason it under ALL past edits. Speaking of editing an output, good luck. On mobile the confirm button, if it even still exists, is completely covered by the keyboard. The UI overall got such a down grade to the point where I haven’t been able to get anywhere. I’m sure on PC the update is amazing. I have faith in the team behind this app and know that they do care. With this update, it seems that mobile was completely forgotten to the point where the developers have never seen a phone in their lives. I know the developers can do better, and want them to succeed but when an update completely neglects a platform to the point where the product doesn’t work anymore it becomes hard to have that faith.
Super fun if you are craving D&D but the oarty keeps rescheduling.
It was tricky to learn how to use it at first it can also be a little bit buggy however, even with the free trial, it has already provided me with over two hours of great storytelling. I havent reached my limit for the day yet and have not tried the payed version. We’ll see though. Okay, so i played a little longer and it crashes everytime i try to open the setting icon; the screen just turns black. I think im missing out on content until its fixed.
