Crash
Redoing my review. Returned to this game after awhile. Was having a blast for hours, rated 5 stars and then 2 games later the game will not even get through half of a match without crashing. I should have known better.
Great game
This game is really fun! Only has one issue that keeps reoccurring and that’s some crashing. I’ll start a battle play for about two minutes and it exits out the app. Besides that I really enjoy this game!
Has the bones of a good game
This game could actually be really good the devs have amazing bones for it. The gameplay is fun for awhile but after a day or two it loses its appeal.
Good for 1 hour
The game is fun at first. The mechanics and details and strategy is very cool and it offers a lot of diversity in game play and risk. However all that eventually get overlapped by the fact that this game is a very long term game and you will be playing for hours just for the difficulty to stay the same and see basically 2% progress. For me after 2 hours it’s like alright I get it you click the whistle people move, you have your arty with you upgrade and drag and drop, you move troops if you really want…. And rinse and repeat 40 times in 2 hours. I understand there’s some point to be made that slow progress is real progress or wtv. But I feel like this is tooo slow for something that has too much risk in it, it shouldn’t be a spend 100s of hours to max out a single unit just for it to be permanently killed after 1 bad game cause then all that progress you had was useless. With other rage games at least it’s like you learned and you yourself got better but this it’s basically a tycoon that you could lose at any game.
its cool
i like it, its cool.
boring game
boring.
Crashes
Amazing game but it crashes many times, like I mean an absurd amount of times.
Lost progress
I have had this game for a while now, I loved this game, To the point where I would play it every day, and I got pretty far along in the game. But I just lost all my data, I had maxed troops, almost fully maxed reseach trees, and stacked armies. I spent money on this game for unlimited access… I hope the developers can help me fix this… It would be sad to let go of this game….
Needs multiplayer option
Good game. It’s a little to easy I wish there was a multiplayer feature your app would scale if you added this to the game.
Tis good
Nice
PROBLEM/CRASHING
The game is great, why I bought the ultimate edition. I would give it 4 stars, but before I got the ultimate, the game worked perfectly, never crashed. But once I bought it, the game crashes before I even can complete one level. Please fix or I would like my money back! Thanks
Great Game but
I love the game and how it’s not just one of the slop games but this has heart in it and it does make you feel something when you lose a platoon. I just dislike that a lot of the features are behind the unlimited version. It’s kind of like a paywall.
It’s In A Dilemma
To The Trenches, is a really in-depth & high quality game just off a glance. Before I go on to say why I gave a 2 star, I do just want to say how beautiful the game is, the artstyle is beautiful & is absolutely stunning, far surpassing any other game I’ve seen on the app store. The fact you have your own officer system with medals is something I find super neat, & the inclusion of wind for the extra skill usage of high-arc support is another neat detail. The developers are really communicative & are very happy to accept suggestions, which is the biggest green flag. They are indie too, so they deserve the support! Wonderful SFX & VFX too! However, the gameplay is undeniably horrible & you would at most get about 10 hours from the game. Even if it’s paid so you may progress farther into the tech tree. The game lacks any proper form of strategy or thinking in-game, & all you do is spam your varying abilities of artillery, planes, mortars or gas without any thought, too so your other perks that give buffs mindlessly. The gameplay is closer to that of cookie clicker than it is to any old school RTS. For instance, the other Trenches 2D top-down game made by another indie group has horrible graphics, & is really poorly made, focusing instead on useless additions rather than adding on to the core gameplay, however it is arguably better gameplay wise due to the single fact you can move units back & forth to capture trenches. Upgrading your platoon stats is really boring & from a player perspective is particularly negligible to any difference, the pricing getting linearly higher is just a sorry excuse to increase the grind. There is simply no goal for you to accomplish in each battle, there is no grand offensive, you merely sit there until the AI is done sending all its units at you, or you can just spam charge & win, even on higher difficulties it is so incredibly boring due to the lack of a goal & the lack of critical thinking required. I feel as though the developers of this game keep trying to remedy this boring gameplay loop by trying to add new things, or adding more purchasables for your coins. I personally disagree, as with each new ability, you would probably only spend 10 minutes looking at it then uninstalling the app. Other nitpicks being: You can hardly see how nice infantry looks on a phone-screen, but that cant really be helped though. They are very hard to spot. The machinegunner feels like its shooting wet paper at enemies & I do believe to this day it is a waste of a purchase. The manual controls when you hold down your finger to manually send your infantry at a direction is practically meaningless & offers no advantage whatsoever in real gameplay. Grenades are very niche & most battles can be won by just tank spamming & ability spamming. My personal suggestion is to add some form of campaign. Large, long maps which you need to make your way through. Anything to add a bit more strategy. Maybe add L.O.S. Make infantry slow, vulnerable, let me guide them behind berms to avoid enemy fire or letting them take cover in craters. Enhance the real dangers of no mans land: machineguneers, fatigue, artillery, mud, darkness, weather, snipers & terrain. I’d like to see a DLC of sorts, where you are underneath as one of the German pioneers, or Entente sappers under the Western Front engaged in tunnel warfare. As it stands, until gameplay can be suitably changed to something requiring strategy and planning, I wouldn’t suggest spending money, but you should check it out!
Great game
Continuously crashes mid game
Peak
Love this more than my dog
Help
I brought the unlimited version and I was exting the game with the tool button and when I went back in it said that I didn’t have the unlimited version please help or give me my money back
Great game
Love this game so far
Crashes
You have done nothing to fix the constant game crashes that make this unplayable. Also the most recent update sucks.
Fun at first
The game was fun, but recently I’ve found it near impossible to win a match in late game. Battles have been crashing the game too.
Amazing but…
Could you make it so you can control one of the troops and tanks. I think It cool, kinda like retro bowl. Love your game btw.
CHANGE THE LOGO BACK TO THE OLD ONE
I DO NOT need to see the mark of an autocratic regime on my home screen. Neither do my coworkers, friends or family. If people want this one, allow them to change their app logo but this should NOT be the default.
Very good game
This is a very fun game and it is a very well made WW1 game. It would be five stars but all the main things that you would think you could do off looking at the images in the App Store you must my a pass for $10. Overall though if you buy that it is a very fun game. 👍
Game broke :(
Loved the game up until it stoped letting me open it just freezes on the loading screen and sometimes gives me a small error with no way of playing.
Stupid crutch
Wtf why does artillery always miss when shooting at 3+ of the enemy
Wonderful for 10min
Wonderful for 10 minutes then delete
Update asap
Man this game is awesome but as soon as the gameplay starts to get fun the game crashes smh
Really fun, most content locked behind a paywall
The game is really fun, though I wish to see at least the specialists and tanks come out of the ultimate version and into the free one
Great idea…
There seems to be something lacking. I like the idea, but after multiple games and apparent “levelling up”, I don’t see any difference in the way my men behave, they get slapped about just as much as they did before the “upgrades”?! I bought the premium version and got free war bonds, spent all those and I’m still getting whooped by the hun… I’m not getting the dopamine I need to carry on playing.
Good game but keeps crashing
The game is good but crashes almost every time I use the cavalry
Phenomenal time killing game
This has genuinely been one of the only mobile games Ive enjoyed
Overpriced
So far only played the game all of 20 minutes, but realizing the full game is almost 10 bucks is crazy. It’s a phone game, price is way over average compared to other games.
Crashing
Love this game but keeps crashing middle of the game
Wayyyy to hard
The enemy ai, is op the my send in waves like it’s nothing, their aim is top tier combined to my soldiers(upgraded) sent 2 waves just for them to not even touch their wave, then by the time the first wave is at my tench another 2 come and destroy me behind limits and the 1 war bond a game is not cutting it
The game won’t load
I’m a mobile user and I downloaded the game because it looked fun but when I tried loading in it was just a permanent black screen no matter how long I waited. I hope this gets fixed soon thanks!
Super fun
Really well made little game lots of cool stuff it all functions great, you can tell it was made with love not just for clicks
It’s just a money maker
The only way to get like half of the game is to spend £4.99 idk for $ but it’s just a waist of your time, don’t download. [Edit:] just wait until the free update happens if that’s real.
Overall good
It gets repetitive after a while
Only rng
I mean the game looks cool with retro pixel and the concept is cool but it is just a rng game i cant control anything there is no tactic at all and the artillery is inacurate even with the upgrades that would be very vool if we could select troops and decide where they should go not only press a button tha says advance and drops bombs thats dont do anything
Good but…
Enjoying the game but everything has tobe paid
Great game to play
This game is great! No ads and very addictive game to play.
Great but Broken
Was a great little game but unfortunately nothing but a black screen when trying to start a battle now.
Gameplay is great but…
My only draw back to this game thus far is how much cool and what feels like should have been normal content, is behind a small roughly $5-6 dollars.
Cool Art Style - Poor Execution
Has all the traits of being a good mini game, nice pixel-art style, easy to navigate menus, but has basically no content aside from clicking the same button to send your troops out. I played for less than 30mins and I already feel like I’ve gotten everything I can out of the game (with exception to the locked tech tree that you need to pay to unlock, like huh? - I don’t even need it to win every time, so what’s even the point) My suggestion, give the player more to do, either via more control or more things to tap mid game, atm it’s just - Charge! Fire artillery! …wait 15seconds… Charge! Fire Artillery! … wait 15 seconds … Charg- I think you get it
free to play vs paid
The game’s gameplay is amazing and fun, but after an hour or two of playing, you practically finished the game, even on hard difficulty. The tech tree for f2p is disappointing. It’s like all the cool stuff is locked behind but you don’t even need that to win, and earning bonds? Its giving the player to try enough of the game to the point of having a halt at a certain point almost making them buy it which i wouldn’t mind but winning the rest of the game without buying it doesn’t really benefit it, unless you like the whole plane and tank stuff. I know the devs have to earn money but adding a donation page and giving the gameplay fully free seems reasonable in my view as even other games which are f2p are most popular or others which still stay after 30+ years from donations like openTTD these are good examples. My conclusion is the whole unlock subscription is just saying “you get the cool stuff” The game has potential and it’s too early to say anything on it fully since, but these are the issues or things that i see can be fixed, for now atleast. - BEANS
G.O.A.T.
N.U.T.
Bruh
Have to pay to get full officer tree only get first thing
Really fun
Great game and I love the animation style, but you progress rather slowly and I have recently experienced a bug which makes me leave the game when I start a battle.
Buggy
A good concept and when works is great however I’m finding after only 5 games that soldiers will get stuck on objects in that map. Not to mention some will randomly walk somewhere and walk around in circles. This game is very repetitive but at the same time good. If all the bugs get fixed then I heavily recommend this
Needs more gameplay
I like the game but it’s getting boring. I’m on day 370 there’s nothing rly to do. It’s just the same gameplay all the time. Charge, artillery, press all the power ups and repeat. There needs to be an actual goal aswell or some sort of progression. Like I’ve played 370 days nothings happened. It would be nice if there was actual meaning to each day. Or just some variety and progression. Cause everything is so stale. Maybe you could add different game modes or stages, like one that is all defence or a bigger map where u can actually contest a trench or trenches with the enemy.
