Can app remember settings
Is it possible to make the app recall settings that were used last time, including the colour profile? Now, when I close the app, it always starts with the basic profile. Otherwise, it's a good app.
How about an update??
Almost a year has passed since the last update. I hoping for better image quality (especially with the 5x camera) and ProRAW files by themselves instead of being paired with HEIF or JPEG.
No Zoom?
The developers seemed to have missed adding zoom to the interface. Not a bad app but there are better photography apps available.

Why cannot I use Filmic Pro Legacy?
Can’t believe that after updating Firstlight it won’t open the Legacy version - take me straight to the App Store to download v7 WHY? I paid a premium for Firstlight and then you remove the feature down the road? What else do you plan taking away- been a loyal user, paid for all the upgrades along the way, every app in the Filmic line up-

Terribly frustrating
Works ok but could use more features especially if it’s a subscription. However, I won’t be paying for it simply because the app is worthless if you have limited cell or WiFi service. Weak signals resulted in the app taking several minutes in some cases to open/switch to and resulted in too many missed shots. Maybe this was the app trying to verify my subscription status
Good Controls, Doesn’t All Work
I definitely like the manual controls in this app and keep discovering new things each day (I’ve been using it for about two weeks now). However, I want just the raw .dng files and selecting PROraw only files gives me .HEIC files that my phone says are JPG+raw. I hope this gets fixed.

Please update for Anamorphic 1.55X Moment Lens!!!
I love this app for shooting B&W photography with the 1.33x Moment lens for awhile now but there’s no option in the settings to change for the 1.55x Anamorphic lens that are now available. Please give us a quick external lens swap button on the main camera page and or in the settings menu. 🙏🙏🙏
Just Not Very Good
I didn’t get far enough into this app to start complaining about its subscription model. Instead, I stopped using it because it doesn’t come close to the native camera app in the quality of its output (on 14 Pro). I’m generally very disappointed with the camera on my iPhone having made the switch from other brands. Most of that disappointment comes from my inability to manually control the capture settings on the phone. This app is no better than the native app in that regard. It pretends you have manual control by letting you set one of either ISO or exposure time, with the setting you don’t choose being determined automatically. In a word, it’s awful. Full automatic is better. Admittedly, the native app sometimes produces wonderful photographs. I’ve never managed to get a comparable quality out of this app when doing side-by-side. It’s always a step or several behind in the fidelity it produces - you’ll get better post-processing options from the native app. It’s slower than the native app and eats battery. I shot a few dozen pics in the native app and the battery didn’t move one percent. I switched to this app and the battery plummeted 10% in minutes. More than anything, I can’t believe the native app is so poor on iPhone that these alternative apps are almost a necessity. I thought they were supposed to be premium devices? My old Lumia phones take better pictures. The hardware may be very outdated on those phones by now, but they had full manual control that let the user shoot the picture they wanted. What a rubbish camera platform iPhone has in comparison.
Good but...
I really like the app but being a photographer and wanting to work with the original raw files, there is a few set backs compared to FiLMiC Pro. There is no way to export files out as a original "raw" DNG file. Instead it exports as a JPG+RAW as one file which cannot be edited by a program like capture one. Secondly, I would love to see full manual control to Shutter Speed and ISO not one or the other. Lastly, no white balance control... If all 3 of these issues were addressed in a quick/easy and fast way to access and change without feeling clunky. I would absolutely love the FiLMiC suite of apps!
Exposure
App is amazing. I just wish I could change the exposure wasn’t Locked to the shutter speed or ISO.
Garbage app
Greedy developer, crap app. Way to go and screw all your customers and supporters in your quest to further exploit your users via a subscription model. App deleted, will NEVER support your crap company again.
Annoying albums
Why oh why does this app need to create a new album every time I take a photo. I don’t want a “Firstlight” album. I never asked for a “Firstlight” album. Just wanted a simple camera app. Not yet another app to crowd up my albums to the point of uselessness. Otherwise great in capture function. Just stop ruining the Albums function please. Make it optional.
Little improvement over native app
Semi-pro user here. Cons: App lags in focus, lens switching. Lacks easy access to other tools that native app has. Portraits can achieved but takes more effort. Aperture priority missing. Pros: focus peaking, ISO and shutter priorities. But overall, just another camera app—not a replacement.

I’ve had every iPhone since day one, and have tried hundreds of “Camera” apps. This (in my opinion) is the best by far. Not sure what went on with the subscription debacle, but I got it with the one of payment (as being offered now) and use nothing else. Excellent.
Anamorphic Disaster
This software is supposed to wok with an anamorphic lens and it does…sometimes. But it has a glitch that changes the settings and you have to check every picture to make sure it isn’t squeezed. So many pictures have to be manually desqueezed. The app is unreliable, unfortunately.
Mostly good
The manual focus on objects out of range of automatic focusing is excellent. I can’t say it’s dramatically better than the standard camera app, but more control. However if listening to music and using the volume button to snap it changes the volume. Very tiresome and I’ve never encountered this before.
LOVE IT, but I CAN NOT use it.
The way this app has implemented the cross swipe behaviour of adjusting exposure balance and focus in one sweep of a thumb is something that I truly love. However, that works fine for this content to let the camera do all work automatically…but the stock photos app also does the same. Therefore I believe the target audience of this app are those who want more control. I am that audience. So now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, I have to say that I feel cheated. Firstly, most people in my category shoot RAW first, NOT JPEG. The stock app already shoots JPEG so there’s no need to pay extra for that. So why, I repeat why, does the app open with JPEG set as the default shooting format…EVEN after we’ve changed it to RAW? This function alone makes it unusable since I can’t tell you how many shots I’ve taken, believing that I was shooting in RAW only to realise that the app rudely threw out my settings and restarted in JPEG. Secondly, when shooting in low light conditions with ISO priority (setting the value to the lowest possible ISO for each lens), the shutter speed seems to top out at 1/3 of a second instead of a full second like other apps. Images would obviously be darker than other apps because the shutter is open for 1/3 less the time of other apps. Thirdly, when shooting under similar conditions with Shutter priority, I can select 1 full second as the shutter speed, but the varying ISO jumps all over the place over exposing and under exposing my image…all while the ambient lighting remains fixed so there is no cause for any of that. Fourthly, unless I’m missing something, I can’t seem to find anywhere to manage white balance. I want to love this app but my main style of shooting involves raw images shot with the absolute lowest possible ISO and this app does not conveniently provide that functionality. I’m going to ask for a refund, but the second these issues are resolved, I’ll be back because I want to love this app.
Great, but missing bulb mode.
The app seems great so far, offers a lot of features for manual shooting. But shutter onky goes to 1/1. It needs more options for long exposure photography.
Nice app, great features.
A smooth and sleekly designed app with some very innovative features to help you take great photos. While the filters are great, I would like to see a few more “regular” everyday film styles included like those in the Chrome filter set in the app. While the instant, infared and print filter sets are done very well, they are rather too abstract to use for everyday photos and social media posts. The chrome filter set however is done very well with some great tones that look very unique compared to the standard VSCO style look. Overall a great app and looking forward to future updates.

Almost Perfect
I appreciate the additional control this tool gives over the built in iPhone camera app and its simplicity. However, there are a few important features I feel are missing for which the implementation of would earn my final star: - The lack of a digital zoom. I’m aware pinch can be difficult as per the implementation of the exposure/focus, but even a rotary style dial would be appreciated. - The inability to set the shutter speed longer than 1 second. Even the built in camera app can go for longer with night mode. - No horizontal shooting. It’s annoying that I have to go into my default gallery app to rotate any photos I wished to take horizontally.

Die vor einen Jahr lief die App super. Jetzt lässt sich keine ISO Zahl und keine Belichtungszeit mehr einstellen. Ich habe das IPhone komplett neu installiert aber alles half nichts. Kann ISO anklicken aber keine Werte mehr einstellen.

Price charged was a surprise $14.99? I purchased the Filmic Pro also . Charges made to iTunes do not show what was paid for just amounts?? I have no idea what I purchased based on the receipt. Please be sure to include the app purchase in the iTunes receipt.
Developer that listens!
Thanks for the change away from a subscription model! After using FiLMiC for quite some time I was drawn to this photography app in an already crowded market. Knowing what the team could innovate in video, it was exciting to see what they could achieve in photography. Boy, have they delivered! I’m finding the AE/AF interface functional, intuitive and useful. The live loupe is also a particularly useful way to nail focus. All this before the film simulations which balance film like feel without being overcooked. A big congratulations for all your hard work and thank you for making social distancing more tolerable.

Add a Filter-Save function!!
Great app, workflow, etc. Two downsides/feature requests though: 1) ability to set a default filter that is enabled when the app launches would be a huge time saver. 2) many filters feel a bit extreme, kinda longing for the less obtrusive but film-genuine filters from RNI here. But I love the grain effects, UI, and Leopold filter on this and it’s become my go-to shooting app.
After Filmic Pro this was a disappointment
I don’t understand how an app provides less functionality and fewer intuitive features than the default Apple camera app on my iPhone 12 Pro. Filmic Pro offers a much better and user friendly video experience so I thought for sure this app would up my photography game on my new phone. I paid $8 for something I literally never use. Huge disappointment.

Gladly paid the price after developers got rid of nonsense subscription. Really enjoying using this app and it really has all the features i need. Maybe bracketed capture for HDR would make it absolutely perfect. I’m happy that at least some developers actually listen to the users. Thumbs up, guys!

Issues
I am unable to save RAW files on my iPhone 11 PRO and Customer Support has been unresponsive for the past two weeks. Very disappointed.
Doesn’t support “selected photos” privacy feature
Apple introduced a feature where you could allow an app to just have access to a selected set of photos and not the entire photo library. Firstlight is one of the many apps that still requires access to the entire photo library. I value my privacy and don’t want to give access to the entire photo library, which means Firstlight doesn’t work at all.

Lost my trust
With Filmic’s pricing changes, I don’t trust this company any more and uninstalled all of their apps. Lots of great photo apps out there.
Zoom in option
I will give 5 stars but the app could be better as the filmic pro video app. One thing that I think is important is the ability to do zoom in and out on the camera. Where is that option?
Basic app
This app isn’t anything to shout about, it’s free but there is a good reason for that. There’s very little you can do on the free version but I’m sure if you fancy forking our £14+ for the pro version it’s probably quite good. There are a lot better apps out there for free or for very less than the pro version of this app.
Zoom
I can’t figure out how to zoom on this app. The tutorial says to press the lens tray but I only get a selfie option. Where are the other lens options??
Focus stacking request
Love the app so far! I mostly take macro shots and would love to have a focus stacking feature in addition to all the amazing features so far. Am I asking for too much?

So many bugs on a 14 Pro Max, and the app looks all but abandoned. What happened to you Filmic? You used to make great apps.
Great app! Found bug
This is a great app for what I need it for. Im using an external anamorphic lens and it had the option to de-squeeze the image which is perfect! However... Ive noticed a thin diagonal line after taking the shots. Through the viewfinder I don't see this line but after it saves to my album I can see the same line in every photo. I tried other apps and even the stock camera app and this only happens with this app. I hope the developers see this and come up with a quick fix! All in all the app gives you more control over your camera and the ability to take the perfect shot every time! Perfect for cinematographers looking to take still images! (Developer please read bug)^^
Subscription based = avoid
If you want to use RAW or TIF expect to be hit by a subscription fee. Crippled software until you pay an ongoing fee. No thanks, I’ve uninstalled it.
