What people like
- Developer is very responsive and helpful
- No forced subscription model here
- Works well on older iPads too
What they complain about
- Free version resets after thirty minutes
- App crashes when loading new patterns
- No Chinese language support available
- Cannot insert other apps for testing
Great in every way
This app for what it is, is amazing.
nothing works app is trash
tried to use this with an ipad and a behringer audio interface. after guessing my way through the dozens of idiotic hieroglyphs blindly i found the setting that had already recognized the interface for both audio input and outputs but would not record, monitor, or playback any sounds after hitting record and or play... pretty terrible programming. maybe if you want to spend 2 weeks watching youtube tutorials this app could work but i'm not wasting any more of my sanity with it. also similar problem with using a bluetooth midi device and going through the midi learn steps in the app... the app refuses to respond even though the device is paired and works with other brands daws same as the audio interface. i didn't even need the full bs 29 minutes of a free trial to find out this app is complete trash. get loopy pro or garbage band instead where everything actually works without the headaches and the UI designed by people that can't read or write in english.
建议增加中文语言模式
在我的工作流中，无论是混音，录音，还是编曲，都会使用cubase，但是对于我这样一个英语不好的人来说，用移动端的cubase会增加很多麻烦建议增加中文模式，谢谢
Stupid crippled midi editor
Just to note. I have purchased full feature set plus waves stuff as well so I’m not whining about free stuff here. Just add handles for handling notes/midi containers etc Simple like one for up/down one for Left/Right and at least one for note length it should work also on clip event sizing. Look how NanoStudio 2 had its midi/event sequencing done. Much much faster and frustration free. I’m soo bloody disappointed that simple note resizing takes several attempts. Unusable for me as I don’t like ton of unnecessary moves/work etc to achieve something so simple.

什么时候更新中文版啊😭
Thanks Steinberg
A legendary company that continues to deliver, even for older iPads.
It would be so great if I was smart
This game has so much potential for everybody who plays it. I’m not that good at it so I didn’t really know how to create music and I’m just kind of sad. It’d be much nicer if you could add a simpler version oh also if you the owner replies on my message, please say yes or no to making a simple simpler version. Thank you. Peace out.
啥时候能加入中文
好用的很，唯一的缺点就是没有中文。
Already payed for the software but Apple won’t acknowledge Android
I had already purchased the software for quite a bit of money for me and I’m surprised that I can’t also use it on an app on an Apple. It’s the same software. I don’t understand why I refuse to pay for twice so thanks a lot Steinberg an apple you guys killed me on your software.

Sound fonts
Can I use my sound fonts samples with the full app cubase ?
Worst app ever
Turns out I have to buy a stupid fee of 50$ just so I can get more instruments, and they only give you like 3 instruments unless you buy the subscription which gives you like 500 instruments but it costs 50$ so Iam deleting the app and never using it again
Chinese!
希望能出中文版的对英语不好的人真的更难看懂😅🥲
lol
buy pro version for make music or listen demo project XD

Please Switch My App Order To Cubasis 3
This is a very excellent app but somehow I ordered this one instead of the one I intended which was Cubasis 3…Is there a way I can switch because it hasn’t been a month since I ordered and they both the same price, sorry I got confused

I am re-evaluating my review
The LE version doesn't really let you try out some basic features such as connecting other apps through Audiobus or loading plugins. I understand those are premium features, but there should at least be a way to try them out. RE-RE-EVALUATING MY REVIEW: I have the full version of Cubasis, and it's pretty powerful for a mobile DAW. Steinberg, and particularly Lars, is ultra-responsive and helpful here, in the Steinberg forums, and elsewhere. For that alone I am changing my review to 5 stars.
Lame
Why did I pay 50 dollars for this and it’s still LE
Expensive
Exelent, powerful, & streamlined, but its very expensive if you want an real features.
Not a Light Edition at all - just a useless demo for full version
This isn't a 'Light Edition' in the slightest. Unfortunate, cause that would have been fantastic - a multitrack host with a decent piano roll, with reasonable limitations and less features, allowing one to try things out in a realistic way and upgrade once it becomes a real part of one's workflow for more complex tracks. This 'Light Edition' not only completely resets after a ridiculously short time of 30 minutes, but also still lacks several crucial features such as AU hosting (why couldn't those simply be active, when the app is already so restricted as to be useless?). It's nothing but a storefront demo for the $25 full version, and not even sufficient for that purpose. I'll be happy to try this out again if it ever becomes a real light version and lets me stretch the workflow and the AU integration even a little bit, without being rushed and unable to do anything meaningful. I'm not committing $25 to something I don't have any real sense for.
Confused newbie ??
I have downloaded the demo version and what I see , however according to your literature ( as I understand it ) as well as the purchase of the software I will also need a supported hardware device which I don’t have , I just can’t purchase the software and then connect my midi keyboard or have I got the wrong end of the stick ???
THANKS FOR SELLING APPS AND NOT SUBSCRIPTIONS
Thanks to this company for not forcing subscriptions on to users. Cubasis is excellent!
Too easy to crash
While looping the the example project, turn off the loop, let the play head move past the end of the loop, turn looping back on, boom
Ok daw but not free.
I’ve heard awesome things about this program and have used it before, however this version, although it might seem like it, isn’t exactly free. There is a 30 minute trial version, but in order to make music it isn’t ideal to have this type of restraint. I would also like to add that the ui is certainly not optimized for smaller screens and definitely feels more clunky than some other daws. Overall 8/10
App keeps crashing
Every time I try to upload a beat from my files the app crashes on me. I paid 30$ just to be able to import tracks and I can’t even do that.
Crashes but enjoyable when works
I’m a big Steinberg fan , heavy Cubase user so wanted to expand but feel this app isn’t optimized for iPad. Some great features like freezing , automation, chord pads, and IAP make it an solid tool. But when I use IAP it often freezes or takes forever to load. Which isn’t an iPad experience, you want something quick and light I don’t expect a full fledged daw but a stable one at least. Also surprised there isn’t scale assistant as thats a huge Cubase feature. So having to use other apps to do that function also adds to the load. As a premium offering in the iPad ecosystem I expected better performance it’s one of the slowest music apps I’ve used. I do enjoy it at times but it proven to be unreliable and frustrating to. Hoping for more stable efficient updates.
Yamaha FGDP-50 finger drum works in Cubasis!!!
I learned the hard way that the FGDP has to be connected with camera adapter AND power supply 1.5amp plugged into camera adapter for it to send midi and audio to Cubasis 3. Whew! I thought I had a defective unit.
Real cool guys
I can’t tell what the point of this even is. You can load something that looks like a daw and play what sort of sounds like music but you can’t create create a new project. Maybe I’m stupid but I’m putting my money on this not being a good idea to download.
Great app
Great app although wished it had more customizable effect with out having to purchase them. Should get a bit more for the money. Although it’s a pretty good rocksolid app no real issues does the job well on my iPad
I’d like to utilize iPad and iPhone capabilities..
Why do you need to make sure I have money in my account just to download an app that I already paid for and use?

Question for Dev
Question guys i have a titan 50 Ekit and wanted to use cubasis to record midi forbmy band. Will this app work with that kit using bluetooth and or iphone to midi cable? Thanks in advance guys
Useless for me
I bought a $400 interface from Steinberg and they can’t even give the full version of Cubasis? The LE version can’t even import a midi file. Seriously? Useless!
More fun than computer
I like to use this app for simplicity and fun compare to with computer. Perhaps i am not the best at using DAWs but i can get my work done on this app but why making the drum pads smaller than previous Cubasis LE 2?
Whatever
Not that helpful, you’re probably better off watching a bunch of YouTube videos then buying, or not, the full version.
Please add support for the irig stream
I downloaded the app ready to check it out. I was ready to unlock all the features but I couldn’t because it didn’t support ik multimedia irig stream. So can y’all please add support for the irig stream?
Cool app
Nice work
This was awful!
If I could give this a 0 star I would☹️! This game was awful I didn’t even know how to add beats! It had resources to help AND the YouTube video made me cry because how un helpful it was! I wish I had never got this! It took up wayyyyyy to much storage and was trash! DO NOT spend your time or money on this!
output options
I only wish I was able to export/share mp3 format. I’m a voice actor and auditions can only be mp3. Why? Dunno. There are plenty of formats that are suitable, but it’s in their court and mp3 is what they require. Please add mp3 as an option.
Issues!
Bought a Steinberg UR44C which came with Cubasis LE. I upgrade because you can’t do anything serious with the very gimped LE. Cubasis 3 crashes with just Ravenscroft 275 loaded on one track! I switched back to Cubasis 2 and I have NO ISSUES! What??? This is a Steinberg interface! Please fix this!
Your app is expensive I have hacked your system you should offer less
Your app said free trial!
Not a review but a question
Currently I’m on iPhone. I plan to upgrade to ipad soon so Question 1: If I purchase this now I’m my iPhone will I be able to transfer it to my ipad when I upgrade? Question 2: currently on GB.. some of my plugins have bad latency because (if I gather right) because the sample rate is low. Is this software likely going to overcome that? Question 3: “Supported Hardware” I don’t see my keyboard on this list. It is a Casio S360 dig piano but with full weighted, and usb with an interface (focus rite). Do I need a dedicated midi controller for this or is the Casio just not on the example list? Thanks in advance :)
More!
This made me so mad I had to write more. So, I go to use Bias FX 2. Nope! “This version doesn’t support doing that.” Really?! A trial version can’t insert an amp modeling app to see how it functions in your software???? ZERO stars.
Please add Output Device Selection to iOS version
I’d love for the developer to add Audio Output Device selection to the iOS version of this app. I currently have a usb c dock with usb for my audio and I’d love to have the HDMI output for video output only. Currently with both plugged in, the audio automatically routes to the HDMI. I’d like to have more control. Is this possible? Love the app btw. Correction/Update Using Apple’s USB-C A/V dongle, you can have HDMI video and USB audio enabled simultaneously. Other hubs don’t automatically detect this. It would still be nice to have the option to select this in iOS. Perhaps this is an iOS feature that needs to be enabled. I’m inching towards a 5 star review. Just need to add Markers in the DAW and I’ll upgrade my review lol.
Very poor.
As a long time user of Cubase on pc i thought I’d give this a try. Ignoring its a cut down version, this is so bad. Biggest issue is i have to force quite the app each time i load a new midi drum pattern in, otherwise i dont hear anything. The pattern gets loaded, I can play the pads, but playing the track gives no drum sounds. Once i re start the app it comes to life again. This happens 100% of the time. For £29 this is ridiculous. Will be getting a refund and going back to GB.
Cubasis LE2 upgrade to cubasis 2 not transferable in v3
I was happy to see my in app purchases transferred from Cubasis 2 (previously upgraded from LE2 with the in-app upgrade option) however the upgrade from LE to full didn’t transfer which makes this pointless as I can’t use the import feature or any of the other full features. I don’t see enough improvements to want to pay again for cubasis by upgrading the LE version so I won’t be using this unless Strindberg can fix this upgrade problem.
