Creating routes
Easy enough to use and interface with B&G but at times very difficult to find destinations. For example try routing to Messina in west Sicily. It routes automatically to Milazzo.
Almost worthless
Can’t access setup. All I ever get is the little spinning wheel. So app is worthless. Been like this for months.
Latest Update
The latest update this month , June 2026, keeps crashing on my iPad. It seems fine on the phone. iPad and iPhone are both running the latest iOS.

Bonne application mais
Application très pratique pour préparer et transférer les navigations vers le traceur. Seulement malgré l’avertissement de mise à jours de cartes disponibles, impossible d’effectuer celles-ci. Donc seul solution suppression des cartes à nouveau création, dommage.
Very buggy App
I wish I could’ve shared this information through support, but there is no support communication option for the companion app according to the knowledge base and any information posted in the app support link provided here. The app is extremely buggy the icon a circle that represents my position often just doesn’t show up every time you touch the screen. Often when touching the screen to zoom or move it thinks you’re putting a mark down. Most of the function in the UI is just not well planned and up to par with so many other Apple apps. I am hopeful that B&G will make a proper investment and get this app up to snuff.
Needs some improvement
In the iOS app I dislike the following:- 1) The way it automatically zooms in and out after touching the overlay and function buttons, I would prefer it not keep zooming in and out. 2) despite map rotation the system goes back to map rotation, I would much prefer the ability to lock rotation until I decide otherwise. 3) I have depth set to metres, as a result the distance defaults to metres and kilometers, I want distance in nautical miles and depth in metres (the Zeus chart plotter allows this, so why not the app?). 4) the system often freezes after touching map overlay or plan or home. I like the plan features, map overlays (though satellite imagery is not very clear in places).
Great app with minor room for improvement
The app has come a long way and is now sufficient for my needs. I moved from Navionics. That said, a couple of thoughts: 1. Can you please consider allowing Split screen on the iPad? I would like to combine viewing with windy or predict wind. 2. Please check the setting for changing the anchor alarm. Once in the menu I cannot go back to the menu on both iPhone 15 and iPad 12.9. only restart resolves, but no saving possible. 3. on iPad 12.9 when downloading a defined map area the result differs continuously from the area chosen. The area delivered trends to the south west. One final note: B&g and c-map differ only by hardware add-on opt in for B&G. I would consolidate the apps and offer all features of hardware add on holistically. Apart from that great work. Thank you.
Very disappointed
My immediate reaction after using the app is that its display of depth has weird fonts that make it impossible to read or be confident in planning routes. Also, basic navigation and route planning is extremely glitchy. I don’t think I’d trust this at all. I’ll play with a little more, but highly unlikely to depend on it, or pay for it.
Mobile App
Tidal Information. The mobile app only shows Tidal Heights. Tidal Current information is not available on the mobile app. This is a major omission for those sailing in tidal waters. Please add this to the mobile app to reflect the tidal current information available on the Chart Plotter. I also think the Tidal Heights information could be improved vis a vis Navionics.
Doesn’t work well on my iPhone
If I tap on the screen there’s in no option to Goto. I only get an option of creating a route which makes the point I have selected to goto the start point! Also when I turn the map to work out which direction my track is the mini compass turns the wrong way so it’s not showing North at all! I have no idea what’s it’s pointing to and it turns green or red or a shadow and means nothing at all! Very frustrating clunky and very hard to use. The app is not intuitive, and seems to do the opposite of what you would expect! (Goto, deleting old tracks and synching with my chartplotter) My map is cluttered with old tracks that I can’t seem to hide. They also cannot be deleted without going through the 3 dots instead of an option to directly delete which took 10 minutes to figure out. Why is it so difficult?? Even attempting to give feedback via the app doesn’t work as the send button gives me an unknown error and shades out the send button…! Gah!!
Track Handling fehleranfällig
Die App ist schön übersichtlich und gefällt sehr gut. Leider ist das Speichern/Synchronisieren/Umbenennen von Tracks sehr fehleranfällig. Ein Import fehlt völlig. Daher steige ich (noch) nicht um.

I updated to IOS 26.2 and now this app no longer works. I have had many problems with this app over the years. It is not the most intuitive of the sailing apps. I recommend Garmin Navionics. Much more intuitive, faster, and stable with more features. B&G just doesn’t seem to put much effort into their app. I am guessing it will die off.
Works but not great
Regularly disconnects. However my main gripe. This is a nautical navigation app: why on earth can you not select nautical miles as a measure of distance? Surely this should be standard, it’s not even a choice.
B&G App makes planning really
The ease and availability of the B&G App on my smartphone facilitates comprehensive route planning that can quickly and easily be shared. This makes it much more likely to sail together with friends and family!
Impossible to update Vulcan chart-plotter
Lousy app , confusing and often crashing . B& G instruments are not updating from this App . When you connect to the instrument thru WiFi the updates are either not there or buried deep in a hellish menu when it should be obvious or happen automatically. Try “ savy-navy “ as a chart plotter ; much better interface . This App reminds you why Apple is what it is and others such as B&G nowhere because of their lousy interface It looks like the “ Triston” is only upgradable with files downloaded on a USB stick and you have to remove the instrument to access the connection What a nightmare when it should be done over Bluetooth. Never again will I buy this junk . I guess uodates will not happen
Invaluable
Great tool for sure, it’s highly unfortunate it requires me to authenticate to use it from time to time, and when I’m offshore that makes it completely useless. Great when you are shoreside at the dock, but can’t trust it’ll not prompt me for a login while offshore.
Zeus 3s tracks won't sync
The Zeus 3s seems to work well. I thought it would be a pretty straight forward and common task to want to sync your tracks from the unit to the B&g app. I have everything setup, I'll initiate the sync in the app, it will say that it syncs, but the tracks never show in the app. I tried creating new tracks, clearing everything and starting over, making sure both Bluetooth and WiFi are connected between phone and unit, it never works. I've not found anything else useful with the app. Creating waypoints feels unintuitive. I'm only writing this in hopes they fix the track syncing issue

Improved
This app has improved over the last few years, enough so that I use it instead of Navionics. I have all B&G equipment and three years ago found this app to be deficient but now it does every need it to do as a coastal sailor. Keep the improvements coming.
Frustrating
Refused to connect with my plotter and kept repeating error screen until rebooting iPad.
Almost perfect
I like to use it now as my standard app. Changed from Navionics. I lke the automatic route programming. What is missing: A track protocol which show track position.
Keeps crashing
Haven’t used this much but it’s crashed like 5 times already. Will update later if I get it working.
Ausbaufähig
Soweit läuft die App, die identisch mit der C-Map und Simrad-App ist, stabil. Es ist schade das als Sprache kein „Deutsch“ ausgewählt werden kann. Also sind zumindest Fremdsprachliche Kenntnisse erforderlich. Deshalb nicht alle Sterne.

Convenient App. Good charts and easy to make routes and upload to Zeus and get going
No way to get app support
Latest app is better, but the charts default to meters and not feet and can’t be changed. Also, there’s no way to get help on the app. Help and feedback simply send you to the BNG master website, which has all kinds of other stuff.

AIS and traffic scam
I have been paying for this premium subscription for more than a year and cannot get the AIS to work properly, either it doesn’t show any active boats even in marina or occasionally shows boats way out of date. I have all the settings turned on. I have cellular connectivity with 5G and my wife pays for a separate subscription and has the same issue Customer (AI) service is not helpful - This is a scam !
GPX ?
GPX import and export would be helpful but it is only offered for exporting recorded tracks. And here, it doesn’t work! Program hangs with a rotating donut. :-(
Love the sync
I love being able to plan my route, waypoints and check the weather on my iPad in the cabin or home and sync to my Zeus3s at the helm. Great app

This app crashes constantly, I’m on a brand new 13” iPad Pro. I’ll download it use it a bit, the next day it crashes constantly. The only fix is delete the whole app and reinstall. How is this supposed to be acceptable for sailing and cruising this is pure BS. This app has been like this over a year how can I trust this company if they can’t even do the little things. Completely unacceptable.

This app is getting good as a companion to using B&G electronics on board. The sync function to the Zeus display and map is now working well and allows the ability to prepare at home. The app is still behind Navionic’s app on some features but has become better on average for B&G user with on board instruments. I am mostly racing, some of the features are still low to prepare race as compare to what can be done on the Zeus display - including proper mark rounding definition or on the water last minute , multiple race course from club or regatta instruction, selection by a number. Or management of Course on screen course that are display that are not a shared parameter in the sync. The measurement is also sub standard (distance and no angles). Not dynamic and able to we magnetized to a boat or AIS boat, not able to compute more than on vector at a time. Not able to be kept as a sub mode while doing something else. On my personal wish list. Routing changed to properly understanding sailing not just depth. (Currently a auto set course might be unusable if it is an up wind course as the routing would make strange adjustments that might destroy the weather advantage by sending the boat downwind that will request unnecessary tacking later in the course). Shift from Sync to co working with the on board display B&G electronics in real time enabling proper synergies. Leverage stuff like start line, Start information, race recording with Trace enhanced by Zeus electronics with TWA,TWS,SOG,Speed,.. to be recorded and saved on one account post races or cruising . Shift from weather info to routing from weather and current that could be done in « prepare my trip » with editor managed agreement through managed subscription for Grib’s pre trip and on the water. Proper interaction with Zeus when using the SailMaster screens enabling to have the rich maps with course and racing info on the Ipad while having the Zeus display graphically the sailing info.
A bit unstable
This app freezes and is slow. With the last update I am no longer able to create routes at all.
When will the app work again
Since the app got hacked we have not been able to access it and can’t find an eta for when it will start working again?

This app is awesome!!
Does not connect.
As a delivery skipper of sailing yachts I’ve come across this constant issue of the app not connecting. Also freezing and closing on its own. I thought it was possibly my devices but my crew tries and it’s also hit & miss. Perhaps in some cases it’s the boat hardware but regardless this is the same company, right? They definitely have problems with the software both in app and the vessel electronics.
Works seamlessly with my Vulcan, but…
The detail on the c-map chart is not as good as the detail on the chart in my plotter. In particular many of the rocks around my sailing location do not have drying heights on them. Other than that it’s great, when I hop on the boat the courses that I have set on my iPad at home are all on the Vulcan ready to go.
Can not connect to zeus2
The app appears to be what I’m looking for. However, I can’t confirm because all of my efforts to connect it to my Zeus2 plotter have been unsuccessful. The app recognizes it, bu never adds it. My calls to get help go into a waiting list that never seems to move. There is no easy way to get help. No troubleshooting suggestions.
Hoping Will Replace All other Apps - Not Yet
Firstly I’ve not used extensively and am hoping to revise my review down the line. I would love to replace all my apps with this and have consistency with the electronics on the boat. However the first glaring issue is navigation on an iPhone 12 Pro just does not work. The navigations for “Back”, “Save”, etc that display at the top of the screen overlap the time and make these buttons frustratingly hard to press. This frustration is enough to stop using until resolved. So next year when my Navionics card and App subscriptions expire I’ll revisit. For now it looks good, and I think it’s going to be great if it gets further development.

Garbage at best
I am an old B&G user, and this app and the new MFDs are about the worst B&G has ever released. The app is a power drain, it crashes, chart updates take days if you are lucky, it corrupts waypoints and routes on the MFDs. Frankly the Navionics app is magnitudes better. But then it is not all that difficult to beat this one
One of the best apps out there
Super good app they have made a massive improvements . What is still missing connected to External AIS and GPS . But the app is easy to use
Can’t load on iPad IOS v12.5.7
Trying to use on an old iPad mini. I can install, but app dies after initial B&G display screen. App info suggests it should run on iOS 12 and later. My iPad has 12.5.7
Trouble adding devices
Nice app with good features. Updated my MFD to latest software but when trying to add my devices to the app it crashed every time I scanned the QR code. I’m running it on an iPad Pro using current iOS. But for this problem the rating would have been higher.
