What people like

What they complain about
- App won't let you log in again
- You must create a new account every trip
- Customer service never responds to your emails
- They charge you for other renters' tolls
Worked well
I had no problem installing and using the app. Saved a lot of money on tolls. Would definitely use again.
worst customer service
I was charged for a toll by my rental company that “did not register” on my visitor toll pass, yet other tolls from that date did. When I inquired on how to dispute, they were very difficult. 1. A representative called me early in the morning when I was asleep 2. They told me to provide the toll statement and my rental agreement. I emailed hertz for the toll that I was charged. They emailed me a statement and Visitor Toll pass said it wasn’t acceptable? Like what ?? It’s what they provided and it clearly depicted the toll I was intending to dispute. I’ve been going back and forth for weeks with 0 resolution.
Update
They billed correctly. Note they will use the $10 charge for your pass and not refund it but instead use it as a credit for your tolls which is super confusing. They should stop doing that and just not charge a $10 non-return fee because they'll get their call centers flooded with confusions".
Toll pass works, app is garbage
Toll pass works well, I am always charged accurately. I fly into MCO almost monthly and once they “close” your account from a prior trip, they close your WHOLE account and when I try and log back in with the same email, it tells me the account is closed. Infuriating and an absolute waste of time. My husband works in software architecture and could fix whatever bug causes that glitch in 20 seconds.
Decent but could be better for those who rent a vehicle for a cruise.
Rented a car from the airport to the hotel the day before cruising out of Port Canaveral. Cheap tolls using this toll pass, but you cannot return these toll tags to offsite rental car agencies. You must “end” the trip segment for the current toll pass so others who rent the same vehicle will not generate toll charges to your credit card (license plates are read at tolls). Returned the vehicle to an offsite rental car agency but keep the tag until returning from the cruise. You cannot reuse the pass once you “end” your trip in the app. The FAQs state the toll pass must be returned in three days or you will get charged $10. Tried to call the company before leaving for the cruise, but went to voicemail. Their voicemail states they are closed even though I called during the hours their website states they’re open. I attempted several times but no answer. I also sent an email which has not been responded to in seven days. Customer service lacking.
Worked flawlessly
This app and the pass I collected from Orlando airport worked to fall asleep for the entire trip. Thank you for this service, please continue to improve it.
App not working
I can’t log in or register in the app. What’s the point of having an app if you can’t even login or register?? At least give an alternative to the app like a website to log in and register on.
App is pretty bare bones, but it works
Don't love that I have to log in every time I open the app,but it worked very well on my trip to bypass Hertz's fees for tolls.
Concept is good. App and kiosks have terrible performance
Is the server for this a laptop under someone’s desk?
Funciona no tranco…
Great Experience - Smooth Transaction
I genuinely don't understand why there are low reviews, maybe Visitor Toll Pass fixed all issues? For me, the process was flawless, a literal pleasure to get the toll passes I needed. App worked perfect and fast, Kiosk at the airport dispensed the toll passes no problem. I appreciate it.
garbage app
this app just sucks. can’t even log in.
Great resource, but international users may have problem
This is an extraordinary resource for tourists visiting Florida. I’ve used that for three times. All of times I had problem as being an international user. Starting from signing up, phone number doesn’t fit. Payment also doesn’t not recognize international credit card. Eg. I had to put 0 in my zip code and seems that it was not fixed yet.
Really bad and good at once
The actual experience once you have the tag is 10/10. If you repeatedly travel to Central Florida, good luck. They don’t close out a trip for 3 weeks afterwards, so you can’t use the same account to log in. Even after 3 weeks, I’m not sure if I’ve gotten an account to log in twice. There are problems with accounts on this app that I’ve never seen in 30+ years on the internet. Also, be as accurate as possible with your return time and keep your rental receipt showing when you returned. They might try to charge you for the next renter if the RC company turns your car quickly. All in all, the developers are idiots; and this is obviously a government product. The way accounts are handled is absolutely stupid.
Pretty good
It works great on a per trip basis. But once you’ve completed a trip it’s hard to log back into the app to schedule another trip. The app doesn’t recognize your login and won’t send links to resurrect your account in a timely manner. Yes I cleared the cache. Beware of scams claiming you own $$ after your trip is completed. I just got a txt with a link to avoid a $50 late fee. Not clicking on that! I received notification weeks ago that my trip was complete.
Slick
This was absolutely the slickest way to go. I’m not familiar with Orlando and was wondering if this would actually work. Well, I am sold! Be sure to enter your license plate number, I never had anything come back in error. What a savings! The clerk at Budget wanted me to get their program, I told him I was trying out the Toll Pass… his reply, “Yea, if it works.” What a horrible thing to say. I had enough to think about, didn’t need that unwelcoming comment. Toll Pass worked perfectly, I logged in without difficulty.
Garbage
The app constantly crashes and does not allow you to log in. What’s the point of having something for visitors when they would have to wait at the airport for hours for the app to work.
Easy to use, but had to pay for someone else
This is a very easy way to pay for your tolls. It went fine! I dropped the tag off when returning the car. Had not used the toll road often so should get money back. I received the bill after a couple of days and was charged for the tolls of someone who hired the rental car after me. It was solved quickly, but had to pay first and wait 21 days for refund. It is not much money, but still feels strange. However, the system is cheaper than via the rental company.
Beware
App seems to work ok, but customer service is unwilling/incompetent in resolving fraudulent toll charges on your account. (In my case, there were toll charges after I turned in the rental car and deposited the hang tag into the kiosk.) So be prepared to possibly have to cover extra toll charges. Also, you can’t create a new trip using the same account, so you have to open up a new account with a different email, and/or username, etc. each time you travel.
Savings and idea great, app glitchy
Love this for when I visit my parents. Avis would charge me hand over fist for tolls if I used their eToll or just added tolls to the rental. Using this have saved me money! However, the app is a little rough. Been unable to log in numerous times and the app doesn’t seem to function very well. Worth saving $40-$50 in tolls, yes!
Worth it 1000% highly recommend!
Was looking for a viable option back in February 2024 to drive around Florida. Was ready to pay for the car rental toll pass, glad I didn’t! My car rental never went through, while stuck at Orlando Airport I saw the signage to sign up for this pass. I downloaded app from App Store and went and got my pass. A gentleman was there to help and that he did! It cost me an initial $10 to start the pass. I attached the licensee plate in the app just in case. Put the placard on mirror and off I went. Well, drove to Jacksonville and back to Orlando airport. Returned my rental car, dropped off placed in specialized box, took my flight back home. About 3 weeks later, maybe 4, my credit card reflected a credit in the amount of $7. Was ready to pay minimum $10 plus per day for the rental agency toll charge. That would have cost me and extra $30 which the car rental would have pocketed. To my surprise it cost me $3 for a whole three days! Highly recommend using this option if you can!
Total waste of time
Got app. Followed directions and registered for a device. Plane was delayed. When I arrived late at night the system couldn’t find my reservation. The phone number for assistance was useless. Never got my pass. Total waste of my time.
Garbage
The app looks like a teenager built it. It constantly has errors and needs redeveloping. It needs log in every time because it error out. It’s basic and slow.
First Use
Just used this service. Worked mint. Have suggested to all my friends travelling to Orlando area. Remember to add your licence plate to account once you have your rental car
Overcharged and Poor Customer Service
I got charged for someone else’s toll charges. I sent proof that I returned the rental car to their email, but they never respond, even after multiple follow ups.
Difficult 1st Time Experience
While the concept of this is great and much appreciated, in truth how it works is somewhat confusing the first time. I had to call their customer service reps four times and got four different answers. Very frustrating. They don’t all seem to be trained with the same answers. They later added rules that weren’t mentioned at first (I ended up charged $10 for the pass since I didn’t return it in 3 days, though the rep told me I could do it in 5 days with no charge). And the box where you print out your initial hanging pass is not easy to find in the Orlando airport. I figured I ended up saving a total of only $5, and wasted a lot of extra time, but if you are renting a car at MCO and need to use toll roads daily it could save you up to $100 a week.
Worked great
Worked great. Had to walk over from MCO terminal B to terminal A to get the tag so it would’ve been nice if the kiosk was in both terminals. Other than that we had no issues. Make sure you drop off the tag on your way back inside the terminal.
Waste of time. App seems broken
After signing in one time, it's impossible to sign in again. I'm certain the password was in correctly.
Extras tolls charged
It was easy to pick up but from the get go I felt something off about the return - just didn’t seem secure and sure enough our bill included tolls charges for later that day - they are less than a $3 and it has been an night already to argue them - seems like they have it set up that way
Superb experience with the app and service. Easy to use and save money for visiting Florida!!!
Remember to use it at the airport!!!
Be aware!! They charge the plate to your account even after you return the tag
I returned the tag before noon and I don’t see a button for confirm tag return. Then I guess the car was rented out again and all the toll charge was on my account until the end of day. I guess you have to remove plate number manually after you return the tag. Terrible customer service, I sent email and no response for a month.
Pointless App
The idea is wonderful but the app is horrible if you want to use it more than once. I had no problems on my first trip. When I booked my second trip, I had to recreate my account. I’m trying to book my third trip and I still have a credit but there is no way to do so. Why doesn’t the app allow multiple trips?
Saves a ton of money
Wish I knew about this sooner! I’ve visit Florida often and always pay for the rental cal toll passes which are over $10/day even if you don’t pass through a toll. This app was easy to signup and use. I’m not sure why there are such bad reviews. I will be using this every time I visit Florida again.
I can only visit Florida once?
No way to add another pass to my account. Which means if I visit FL for the second time, I have to create a new account. How many email do I have to create accounts?
Very glitchy
I signed up with ease and was able to use my QR code easily at the airport. After that, I kept checking my account activity and it wouldn’t update the whole week. Towards the end of my rental, I started receiving multiple emails that my trip was now active and that my license plate had been paired successfully. And when I say multiple, I mean 20-30 of the same two emails I mentioned above over and over. I wanted to book a new trip trip but the app is frozen on the Return Your Pass page and I cannot move away from it. I even tried deleting the app and reinstalling it, and I still cannot log back in or clear the notification that I need to return the pass. I see previous reviews from 2 years ago having the same issue. I can no longer use my email address in the app to make a new reservation because it says that user name is not available. The system itself was wonderful and easy, but the app is not very good.
Very happy!
We were very happy with this experience! The pick up process was easy and usage worked perfectly. It does take a bit of time for your license plate and app to sync up so don’t be concerned if you don’t see the first tool charge for several hours. Make sure and update your trip with the plate number before you leave the parking garage. The rental car likely will have a big e-toll box right in front of the rear view mirror so we stuck the pass (bar code facing out) up right next to it. Kind of used the side of the box to hold it. Worked perfectly!
Horrible experience
Why must I create a new user ID and password every time I visit? Why can’t I just create a new reservation
Tags are not available in all terminals.
I would like to have used this but I was unaware that the tag machine is ONLY located in terminal A. We arrived at terminal C after a little mess with flights and were having a hard time with kids. We weren’t able to just go to the other terminal to grab a tag so we ended up stuck paying the $12.99 per day that Budget charges. I wish I could figure out what the difference would have been if we had used this one instead.
