I’m not here to comment on the technical merits or utility of the app. This review is simply to convey to would-be users / purchasers of their services that if you enjoy tendering money to those who respond to customer messages with snark and dismissive responses, then yes… by all means … use this product and happily pay for it.
Easy to use and mostly accurate.
Saves multiple tracking records by checking each City separately. I like that it does show when rain is on the route. Minor bug that some cities don't show in advance. Only if you are actually in that City
Terrible predictions
I’ve used the app 5 times. 3 times it told me no rain and I got stuck in the rain. 2 times, I took the truck because it called for rain. Could have had a beautiful ride today. Just annoyed.
First Few Days Review
Haven’t had a lot of cloud coverage here the past few days; however I noticed yesterday some very high elevation thunderheads just southeast of us less than 20 miles away that didn’t show up on my App no matter what setting I had it on which was disappointing. I plan to send pics to the developer for further explanation and advise to better fine tune my settings
Wonderful to be able to prepare
It’s wonderful to know what you’re driving into. The app also shows you a map so you can see where you’re going and what the weather will be when you’re driving through. You can plan stops around weather. You can also pick when you’re leaving so it’s not just in real time. I love the app! 💕
Requires a credit card
Just to register for free version requires a credit card. Why?? No one needs your credit card for a free version of their App, I don’t care that they say it will not be charge if you are using the free version. There is No need for our credit card information.
Great for Motorcycles
I use this to help plan motorcycle trips. It’s pretty accurate a day or two out and gives me a good idea of what to expect as far as wind and temperature goes and it has helped me avoid some serious weather conditions.
Difficult to do routing with stops

From the first use before we went on our trip, the information sites have remained black It appears that it may not work on the iPad which is what I use for my travels ???
Very helpful tool
Used it during the freak ice storms in TX a few years back, driving cross country from NC to CA. Helped us to weave our way around the worst spots and find a way through. Have been using it ever since.
Buggy
Paid Pro version does not work properly on iPhone 8 with IOS v. 16.7.16 . Cannot access either the Presentation menu or the Drive Summary text, despite updating, reloading, rebooting, etc. Very frustrating and a waste of time and money.
Trip planning
Great way plan your trip without a meteorologist
Noble Effort, but...
The non-standard interface might be pretty, but it doesn't make much sense. Where is the weather prediction on the map? All I see is a pink line, with no indication of if that's good or not? It's snowing outside right now, but nothing on the map tells me that. Confusing app.
I rely on it!
Great tool to plan safe travel anywhere. Can you monitor wind temperature and precipitation. I highly recommend recommend it
Very unimpressed
I bought the upgrade of the app so I could get a forecast a week ahead for our road trip. They were wrong about everything. Driving through blue skies, the app says heavy snow. Supposedly there was freezing fog for a whole six hour trip for a solid two weeks every day. It would have been laughable if I hadn’t paid for it. Don’t know if this app is run by algorithms or actual people With actual knowledge about weather forecasting but it was truly awful. This is literally the first review I have ever left for An app.
Works good so far
I have used this on two separate trips already and it has worked ok. Better than other apps as far as finding out how the weather is going to be where I am driving to. The only gripe that I have is its cost. $25 a year is way way too much and I probably won’t keep it just for that fact. I have another trip starting tomorrow so I will see how it goes. I usually just use this app to see how the weather is going to be before I am on my trip but once I get going I usually switch to Google Maps or Apple Maps. I don’t know if that’s how you are supposed to use it but I am confident with the other apps versus this one.
Ads cover important tools
App was working great and was impressed with free version until the ad banner started completely covering up the “to” and “from” waypoints and they literally can’t be moved so the app is useless. It has to be fully closed and reopened and that it glitchy and takes time. Wish I could upload an image to show it.
Our go-to driving companion
We’ve come to rely on Drive Weather for travel conditions every time we hit the road. It has helped us avoid driving challenges and instead plan for safer timing or routes. We love this tool.
WTF
What a horribly difficult app to decipher
Good for RVers
We travel in a motorhome, and I use this almost daily to check our route for high winds, especially if I see bad weather forecasted. On at least 3 occasions we have stayed put for an extra day to avoid high (+30MPH plus gusts) winds.
Disappointing
I had high hopes for this app but it feels really clunky and outdated on my iPad. Cumbersome interface and only moderately useful to use. Saving routes is not possible manually and to make changes you have to select ‘show in search’ from the history tab lookup. There must be better apps out there…
Vital data for driving long distances
Absolutely love this app! Use it when driving our car, motorhome, and pulling trailers. The app allows me to change % of posted speed limits which is different for all the types of driving we do. Love that I can see estimated temperatures, wind speed and gusts, and precipitation!

Very useful and acurate for weather but interface could be improved. Editing routes could be made easier.
Disappointed
Downloaded to plan my drive at the time of Storm Eunice and was initially happy that I could see wind speeds on route according to time of departure. Then later the facility of setting different times of departure vanished and only left me with the option of the current hour. This really diminishes the usefulness of the App. A further frustration is the App doesn’t recognise Uk postcodes - and only allows town name destinations . Planning a trip to London - shows a route into the city which is not necessarily the one you want to be taking
Perfect
The title says it all. Drive weather is the perfect app, if you travel a lot. It’s very accurate, and has helped me avoid severe weather on several occasions. It also shows a route that is t in my google, or maps app.
Won’t work across border
I live in Ontario Canada and I tried planning a route from Ontario to Florida. Once I entered the start point as a town in Ontario I was unable to enter a destination in the USA.

Good for planning drives
I’ve enjoyed using this app to plan ahead for when I want to leave on a long drive. I like how simple it is, not trying to do anything else, just showing weather along the driving route really cleanly.
Solid App
It is quite annoying that I have to pay a subscription for basic features, it’s main feature (showing the weather according to your trip) definitely saves you a lot of time of manually finding the weather at different locations at different points. I drive 3.5 hours back and forth from university to my home every weekend, so it’s definitely saved me from driving through harsh weather

Works great! Tutorials were a great help. If you’re a frequent driver of long distances, you can’t afford to be without this app.
