Good-ish
Called quite a few times until answered but when employee did answer very helpful and very kind help through my problems. App was a little iffy but eventually did work pretty good service pretty good app. I would suggest buying unless you don’t like having to be patient on phone calls then it might be a waste of your money. Otherwise I am a huge fan love it. It’s very Useful and pretty good app compared to some other others I’ve used.
Screwing over customers
App now requires a login and phone number verification when previously you could connect to a camera without it. Completely did a 180. Would never ever spend money with this company again
Areas for improvement
I have been a customer for over 7 years now. I purchased doorbell cameras, water sensors, motion sensors, window sensors, sirens, and privacy cameras. Two weeks ago the cameras went offline and I was able to remove and reconnect them yet they no longer show in the app. I cannot view camera footage in the app.
Fine when it works
I bought this camera recently and boy, it doesn’t load half the time. I have it set to my living room to see my kids when I leave them with my parents to babysit. I have to close the app and reload to get a thumbnail of my camera with an updated image of what’s going on.
Playback Lags
Camera works and records good quality but the playback is awful, it’ll take a few minutes to buffer and to view live footage.

Forcing me to give a credit card
All I want to do is sign up and it will not complete the process until I give it all of my credit card information. I do not want to buy anything so there is no reason I should give them my credit card information but it will not finish my registration without providing credit card information. I thought the system could be good, but this makes me want to return it.
Good app and camera
First night having it I was able to see and hear notifications. It’s very sensitive so I’m happy it catches whose attention my door or passing by. Love being able to know when my packages actually were delivered seeing them. If I got more features I’m sure I could call n answer the door like my old doorbell did, but I’m ok with this for now.
Can’t figure it out
American based company named after Australian animal. Paperwork doesn’t match app information. Can’t get it to work and I’m pretty savvy. Help ?
Scout Alarm Bought Kangaroo - All support broken
The alarms are fair, can run to SD cards, and are inexpensive. However, service went massively downhill from 2025 into 2026. After a ton of searching around, I found that the Australian company Scout Alarm (has competing products) purchased Kangaroo Alarm. I did get some help via Scout's page. ALL support articles for Kangaroo in-app and possibly their support team are unavailable, but they still sell products and subscriptions. I've been a big user and advocate and this is a stinky oversight on the part of Scout/Kangaroo to leave all the Kangaroo customers hanging when we need help. This is verbatim what their (Scout's CS team) said to me: "I completely understand your concern regarding the recent merger. I'm happy to let you know that your Kangaroo device will continue to function as usual. If you experience any issues with your device, please don't worry—we're here to help. Just let us know and we'll guide you through troubleshooting step-by-step."

Kangaroo Security
We have used this security system for over four years. It has worked well. The technology hasn’t changed and is a bit dated, but it works. For the price, it is worth the investment. We save more on our insurance each year than the system, monitoring, and maintenance combined cost… it is cheaper to be protected.

Looked promising, but I can’t get past putting in my address because it won’t let me save even though I’ve put all the required stuff in

Awesome system for the money.
With the latest update we now have safe driving on the app. Please just stick to securing my home. My driving is irrelevant. Also an Apple Watch app would be nice for arming/disarming. Thanks.
Dont Buy
I followed instructions per directed and I couldn't even get the thing registered. I couldn't make it past the first page without it saying sorry there's been an error if it continues to get a hold of customer service so I tried that and didn't get nowhere with that so very displeased with the merchandise will not recommend it to anybody
Bad software
Very demanding for information for their own use. The software missing turn off automatically everyday. Software fills with so many pitch in for sale. Very troubling.
To fast
Is there any way to slow down the motion movement because everything’s moving so fast I don’t see a button to slow it down and some of the video you only see bits and pieces of like vehicles moving with people moving it’s not showing it move from one sides to the other
FINALLY FIXED!
The damage done from several updates ago has finally been corrected. The previous update made the app useless, but they corrected it and everything works great again!! Thank you!!!

Cannot get past address to set up camera. Complete waste of time. Thanks for a camera I cannot even use
Stopped working
After 2 years of having the doorbell. The camera will not turn on after changing to new batteries.
Live video never works
I love kangaroo, but the live video never works when I try to view it. My biggest pet peeve about kangaroo. Other than that, it’s perfect. Everything is up to date, app, and the doorbell firmware.

No response from tech or sevices, better just return items while you can. App does not work on iPhone 14. Tech services are very poor and also not very capable.
Loads adds before images
The app is ok, minus the fact that about 80% of the time it loads adds first, then my security footage. That doesn’t make sense for the user, given’s that this isn’t a free service like Facebook. I paid for this things and still have to wait as it loads adds before what I paid for. I’ll make the switch to ring when I’m ready, and this thing is going in the trash bin.

The app is amazing but the product and customer service isn't.
The app itself is amazing and well designed. There's absolutely no human for customer service, just a bot that gives you articles. The products break in 6 weeks.
Google ads is annoying.
Google ads is covering up the page which is annoying. On top of that, I already spent money on the devices, I don’t like the company is making advertising money out of the app.
Camera doesn’t appear in app
Camera is not viewable in the app, there is no way to view the feed. There is no customer service, there are never agents during live hours, they never call back and do not respond to emails. I paid to upgrade my account in hopes that it would solve the issue and it did not, and to cancel for a refund you need to contact customer service. I previously used Kangaroo for 6 years and it seems no one works for them anymore.
iPhone issues
App worked perfectly on my android…Once I upgraded to iPhone I’ve had issues..What’s the point of having a extra set of eyes to help me safe if it takes forever to connect to the live stream or the video that made your notifications go off smh
Shop alarm
Works good for me. I don’t lock my shop, but since they built a Amazon facility down the road a ways, I some times see people walking down my road where I never seen people walking before. Definitely not neighbors so this gives me peace of mind.
Honestly
Honestly I wouldn’t recommend this because since I’ve had it it goes offline a lot n it doesn’t keep track of who’s coming n going it records wat eva it wants n some times I I get half of videos like someone hacked it n can control wat eva it wants

Absolutely love how easy it is to use! Also the quality is amazing the functionality is awesome!!!10 outa 10!!
Fraud
I cancelled this service years ago and the have charged me AGAIN. You can’t cancel in the app and have to call or email them. I’ve done both in the past and I still got charged $99. I called again to cancel (within their operating hours) and was told that no representatives are available. Save yourself time and money and deal with a reputable home security brand.
