Great value
High quality video and features for a reasonable price, no subscription and even software for multiple camera views males choosing Lorex a no brainer, I have been using them fir years and even their customer support is live agents who know what they are doing and not half assed “AI” agents that only provide minimal information like it is now the norm.
Dated App.
The App needs lot of work, ancient setup really, let alone any camera updates.
Does not show full screen on iPad
The latest update took away the ability to use the entire screen on iPad. Now it is in a smaller window when in “full screen” mode.
Doorbell call issues
This app seems to have major flaws with communicating with the doorbell camera. Anytime I get an alert that somebody is at my door the video feed never loads. If somebody rings the doorbell it will call to my phone but I get an error if I try to view the video or answer the call. I’ve emailed customer service about this and never heard back. Also, the hardware that rings the doorbell works maybe 30% of the time and when it does it’s a single half ding and not like it was when it was a simple basic doorbell. This all makes the camera absolutely worthless if I can’t use the core advertised features.
Playback is poor
The app works great for everything except the playback, don’t expect to play back anything but the real time is good. Also only one login for each email, if you have multiple devices get ready to sign in all the time. The app is gradually loosing features that used to work great

Not bad but could be better
The best place to use this app would be the iPad, but it’s optimized for iPhone. So it won’t go full screen on my iPad. Disappointing.
Rearranging devices does not work
Rearranging devices does not work or reverts back shorty after. Shared users cannot control alerts on individual camera basis. Would also like to set alerts for all cameras in location at the same time. Please load timeline by current time backwards, not midnight forward. It takes more than 5 Minutes to load timeline when on continuous.
HD Should Be the Default
The Lorex app was good until the recent change that makes the cameras default to SD instead of HD. I have a 4K camera system, so I want to see my cameras in HD when I open the app. Having to manually switch every camera from SD to HD every time I open the app is very frustrating.Please bring back the option to remember HD as the default setting. This worked properly before. Please fix this issue.

Easy to use fast notification simple but effective
Notifications still broken 5 years
Update 9/6/26. What a POS app. This app has been updated so many times and it’s still broken l. It randomly turns off notifications on certain cameras when it likes. It logs you out randomly for no reason. Pause alerts never works. If my company put out a product like this we’d be out of business. Pure Garbage. If the developers are too dumb to use AI to fix a simple issue, get out of the camera business. I’m dumping this trash. ————— I’ve had this app going on 3 years now. Periodically it turns off Notifications for alert thumbnails. It’s random and chosen different cameras each time. Sometimes it turns it off on all cameras. Very frustrating when you’re in an area with poor internet. At least with the thumbnail you can get a glimpse of what may be the trigger. PLEASE FIX THIS!!

For how much I paid for these cameras I would expect the app to work a lot better. I constantly get “unable to load”.
Works most of the time.
I got this system in January 2025. It worked great. Within the last six months or so, I have had problems viewing my cameras remotely. Randomly, one or more is offline. I get the error message “tap to retry.” This happens when I get a notification that someone or something is on my property. I go to see what it is, but the app fails. I updated the firmware and “rebooted the system” multiple times to no avail. It is disappointing. I really wanted to like it. I do not recommend.

Terrible App - Stupid Motion Zones
Lorex in general is not a bad system. The cameras are okay and they are pretty reliable. The app is a whole other story. It is straight GARBAGE. The motion zones are absolutely meaningless. Motion alerts come in back to back - animal then person or person then animal. It’s so extremely frustrating. Now light settings are also not working. And customer support is so frustrating. I’m so tired of trying to explain things. Why can’t they just fix it?l I am not the only one with these complaints.

In this day and age it’s difficult to understand why an app only allows one device at a time to be logged in. I have been using this for 4 years and keep hoping that will be fixed in the next update. Other than that it works. Developer responded and told me how to add another user as a ‘shared account’. which allows my wife to see the cameras without getting the 2FA code from me. Added 1 star.
It’s OK – something to be desired
It’s OK. I’ve had eight cameras since 2022. I had them professionally installed. They are the kind that wire in. That said I can get an alert and then when I tap on the alert, I can’t see the video. It doesn’t ever load. I wait and I wait and I wait and I wait and I wait. So if there’s something that urgently needs my attention, it doesn’t get it. Maybe later when the stars align will Lorax allow me to see the video. Talking with customer support is a bit of a chore. They wanna look at everything that’s irrelevant before. They finally listen to what my concerns are and the research I’ve done to pinpoint a particular problem. They don’t know their cameras. Their personnel don’t seem to use them themselves. If I’m searching for something on the cameras, it is a chore to go so slowly to find what happened and when. They don’t have an auto advance button that would advance 10 seconds or 30 seconds. And it’s hard to be super precise using just your finger and scrolling. I do like having cameras around the house. i’m planning on moving and when I get my next house, I will explore a different provider for cameras.
Uh oh! Something went wrong
No matter the update, reset app, wifi, router or nvr doesn’t fix the issue. Very annoying when you need to check cameras immediately. Great product when it works.

Todo funcionaba muy bien
Pero con la nueva actualización (que esta muy bonita) se desconecta fácilmente la visualización de mis cámaras, ahora tarda más en entrar a ver casa cámara y a los pocos segundos se desconecta y vuelve a intentarlo y se repite, se conecta y desconecta. Ojalá puedan solucionarlo ya que antes de esta actualización funcionaba excelente
Sporadic online
The Lorex Classic app works sporadically at best. When there is a situation happening I need it to work. I have been using the app, then all of sudden it stops working.
Voice playback on recordings
It would be nice to be able to hear my side of the conversation as well during a recording when speaking to someone during live view/two way conversation I like to know and remember what the conversation was about or what was being said when watching video playback Especially if there was important information Hope there’s a fix for this…..Thank you

I’m pleased with the app, sometimes I find it a bit difficult to find the recordings but that could be me.

Overall, I find the app needs more work. I can only set one zone per camera and this conflicts with the alerts a want. Online help videos do not match the interface of the app or the NVR.

Not for those who want instant review of surveillance video
This app runs so slowly! It’s good at alerting you if it detected motion, but when you click the notification to review the footage, more than half of the time I get an error that it couldn’t load the video, causing me to either close the app and open it again, or to text my husband to look at the video because it never loads. When I want to view surveillance footage at a specific time rather than during a specific alert, nearly 100% of the time it gives me an error that it can’t show the video, or it shows me a very truncated video of what I want to look at. Overall, it’s good to have as general surveillance, but it is very horrible for those who want to instantly see or review any footage.
Good APP with some Faults
Nice that you can se Home and recive alerts in real time, points Not too good: App freezes phone somtimes and APP Cashes, CANT HEAR SOUND or talk through speakers in camera through the App. Solid 4 stars.

App could be designed better
When I open app I should be able to see cameras live. Now I need to click on each device to get into live mode . Live cams appear in one third of the screen and rest of the screen space is wasted for three buttons. Bad design. I switched to lorex cloud app.

For some reason I can’t download Lorex ,I’ve had it for years and since the update on phone it just won’t work ,any advice would be appreciated thanks PLEASE HELP
Get used to this screen
“Uh oh, something went wrong tap to retry” Some days that is all I see works fine on the tv but not on the iPad. I would be hard pressed to recommend Lorex to anyone at this point. I have over $ 1,000 invested in their products and am highly disappointed. Update 8/20/2026 I seriously cannot recommend anyone buy a lorex system. The software still does not work all I ever get to see is “uh oh something went wrong …” if all you want is a visual deterrent and never want to see what is going on I’m sure you can pick up some cameras at a yard sale from a frustrated user. Directly to Lorex FIX THE MFING SOFTWARE.

Camera settings
I have lost the ability to change the camera from standard definition to high definition. I can change the settings and as soon as I close the app and reopen it the settings reverts back to standard definition. This is unacceptable and will be looking for a replacement system
Time for another update.
The app is alright. It is easy to navigate through everything but since the last update every time I go into the app settings a home and away screen pops up and takes me out of the app. Please fix this. Thank-you

Decent
Could use a major update. Always having trouble connecting to my devices. Had to replace my doorbell camera twice due to a hardware glitch. Always have trouble connecting to the doorbell camera even though it’s got good Wi-Fi connection. The cameras that are hardwired seems to have another glitch where it it doesn’t play a couple seconds if someone moves near the camera. I’ll probably get rid of this product soon.
Interrupted Playback
Having used the old App with an older Lorex model and appreciated the seamless playback and horizontal timeline scrolling, my wife and I get frustrated at the interruption in playback caused by registered ‘events’. We want to see what has triggered the event whilst zoomed in, not have the screen go blank and pan out to normal view! Also, please move the timeline scrolling back to the bottom and horizontal. It provided a greater aspect by not chopping off a 1/4 of the screen. Thanks.

Great app. Works well with the cameras and allows you to view, control all the cameras and NVR from your iPad or phone.. Great all round service and kit.. Glad that I swapped to them
Terrible
Lorex is a terrible product. Video constantly cuts out, quality is horrible. The playback doesn’t even have a fast forward option. So many negatives. I would never buy again.

App gets closed while switching between cameras ( most common once switch between cam 6 and 7). Every time have to re-login again
Privacy Nightmare -- Somerimed Useful
In the app privacy statemen, this app harvests everything to which it has access. Necessary for new camera setup. After setup, I lock the camera out of the internet and delete this app. I use another means to view cameras behind my firewall.
