I can’t stop now
I love Qeepsake! Such an amazing service to capture all of the precious moments in life. I would never have documented the sweetest moments of childhood/parenthood If it weren’t for this app. The prompting text questions are great. Tonight the text question made me stop and document a beautiful moment putting our daughter to bed and the things that were said. It’s one of a million moments that will be forever changed as she grows up. I now have this documented in a way that will allow me to be reminded of it years later. I started with Qeepsake while pregnant and have printed a book of that year’s memories every year since (7!). The collection of books is growing and there is no way I can stop until my daughter is at least 18…who knows, maybe I’ll keep it going after. Digital pictures just stay in a cluttered photo file on your phone never to be seen again. I think most of us have become wise to posting our every minute of life and children on social media. Qeepsake gives me a way to post my own memories and child’s milestones as conveniently as social media but just for me.
Annoying, expensive and slow.
I’ve used this app for both my kids for their first year of their lives. It was recommended to me by a friend. Before I figured out how annoying the app was I was already too committed and had to continue since I didn’t do a normal baby book and had to keep it consistent with both my kids. The first most annoying part, are the marketing texts. I turned off the prompts all together because I was getting a spam marketing text once day while postpartum and couldn’t say no to marketing without stopping all notifications. Turning off the texts made me miss prompts and questions I would have liked to answer. Second, both parents can’t be admins, which leaves off certain features, views and capabilities and is extremely frustrating. Additionally, the app runs SO SLOW. Uploading, editing and creating the book takes SO long because it takes forever to load anything. My final feedback is it’s so expensive. The books and subscription are not worth the money. The photos turn out grainy, you can’t just go through it in a nice way on the app. I just really was disappointed in my entire baby book experience. In hindsight I should have done a handwritten book and manually printed pictures instead. I’m truly shocked how many good reviews this has. It’s so frustrating to use in so many ways!
Great app! Questionable book quality
So thankful something like this exists. It makes it so easy to answer questions by sending you the texts, and add photos and other entries just by just opening up the app. And I like how you can add a photo collage with four photos, because I usually have trouble picking just one! It is definitely worth upgrading to the paid version to be able to do this. I also like how I can add my own entries about whatever else is going on or whatever else I want to put in there. The first printed book was disappointing quality but I didn’t care that much because the memories are what I wanted and ease of getting it done (so easy!!). The second book I did less collage pics (because they’re too small) and more singular pics and kept them bright, so the quality seemed better this go round. Their customer service is great! Every time had a problem they’re quick to fix. I love this app. Books can be pricey but they have sales so I take advantage of those. Because of the low quality of the pics (especially the collage pics, pretty bad.. solo pics are better), I am considering trying Shutterfly books.. but til then, I’m going to stick with Qeepsake because me and my kids love having these memory books!
Canadian options
My review rating will change when this app is more Canadian accessible. My time zone isn’t listed. NST. The closest time zone is EST and there’s an 1.5 hour difference. Also the lack of Canadian holidays. Canada Day, Remembrance Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Victoria Day and Labour Day. Some of these being Big major holidays. Please fix these.
Please Improve:
I want to love this app, but a couple of years into using it and there are a handful of things that make it difficult for the customer. If uploading photos from my iPhone 15, even though the app asks me if I want the original date of the photo to be uploaded and I select "yes", it will upload with the current date. This caused me a nightmare of having to go in and hand adjust every single photo date referencing my phone data. Secondly, if I am a year or two behind on printing a book and want to go and edit the book before printing, I have to scroll past everything since that time period to edit. Also, I'm having trouble making four images per page and not just one. I hope the creators will improve these aspects to make it user friendly.
Love this for my kids and my memories
My two girls were born within 19 months of each other and the fact that I could answer texts about each of them in real time from the time they were babies was essential. When I give them their Qeepsake books every few years, they get so excited and read every word. Now that they are older, I sometimes ask them to answer and it’s a fun family activity of reflecting and remembering. In this case, the use of daily technology is moving humanity’s goodness forward in a holistic way!
Scammers
This app was great for the first part of using it. Then they got money hungry I guess and deactivated my account and kept all of my journal entries locked until I paid to buy a book of the journal entries or a membership when it originally had been free, when I finally caved and paid $30 for a book, they send me a notification that says my book is printing and will send me a notification when it ships. Even though I had been upset I was excited to get this until it was almost a month later and I never got a shipping notification, so I reached out. They said they sent me a pdf instead…. This wasn’t explicitly stated that I wouldn’t be also receiving the physical copy like they misleadingly made it sound. So for $30 I might get to see my children’s memories I logged again… and the pdf also says it is “non-printable”. This company took my journal entries hostage and scammed me into paying a ransom for something I never received. I do not recommend, go look for another app or buy a physical journal. These are dirty liars and scammers. 👎🏼 To the response- yeah, you didn’t answer for keeping the memories “hostage”. You locked the journal entries until you could force payment to get them back. DIRTY. It’s not like you locked the account just for further use or anything- you kept the journal entries hidden until paid. Not a family focused app, just money focused. No warning before either.
Making memories
Such a great way to make memories. The questions are great at making you think about things you hadn’t and remembering all of the amazing things that happened during the week.
Apps great, books not
I love this app but was so disappointed when I received the book in the mail and the pictures were either pixelated or completely blurred.
Very easy but need more variety of questions
It does help keeping track but repetitive questions and some don’t apply.
Love!
I have been using for 5 years, for 3 kids and love it! I recommend to all my new mommas too!
Shady Business Practices - Avoid This App
I’ve been using this app for many years now on their free tier. I’ve recently received notice that my account is being deactivated unless I sign up for a paid membership. I get that business needs change, but you started the free option, not me and now my memories are being held hostage unless I purchase a membership OR pay for a PDF of everything I’ve put up there. Talk about bait and switch. How dare you blackmail your users and offer no free option to retrieve their memories?! I am appalled and would recommend users avoid this company at all costs.
Simple to Navigate
I really appreciate when a company has an easy to navigate app, and qeeksake’s app does just that!! As a mom I don’t have time to troubleshoot much, and I love that I was able to order what I needed to on here quickly!
Liked the app, book was disappointing
I liked that the App kept me on track with taking photos and journaling moments and milestones. I found however that the photo quality was less - many of my images looked grainy. And I didn’t like that the book printed on both sides of the page. I found that was a disconnect from the hours and hours and hours I spent editing and perfecting my book (formatting is a challenge with this App!) only to have conflicting pages with large and small and medium font next to each other. Made my book look cheap. And I didn’t feel it was reflective of the time and money I invested in creating a baby book. It would be more appealing given the automatic font issues with the app if printing were just one one page - make this an option at checkout please!
Simple Interface, could use work on the auto questions
I love how easy it is to capture pictures and notes and actually appreciate the simple interface and limited personalization of formatting so I don’t get dragged into over editing. But the auto-sent questions are not programmed well as it keeps sending ones completely irrelevant to my child’s age. And the character limit is too strict. So I end up doing everything as manual entries. But I still appreciate it overall as it keeps me going with entries.
Highly Recommend
I couldn’t be happier with this app and service. It’s easy to use, kept us up on journaling, and the products are beautiful. We captured my son’s first year so far and didn’t hesitate to renew for the second year! I recommend it to everyone. And my family absolutely loves their weekly emails/“digests.” Many of them say it’s the highlight of their week.
Used to be worth it…
They just changed to a paid only app. I have almost 6 years of memories on my account and I have to either pay for an annual membership or pay to have my memories sent on a one time pdf. There’s no other option but to delete the account. I can’t even view what was saved. This is shameful. Unless you can pay $10/$15, some literally can’t, doesn’t matter how long you’ve used their app, you’re going to lose your memories. It is wrong to force someone to suddenly pay or delete their account and lose everything. There has always been a free version with way less bells and whistles, I’m sure there were plenty of people paid. This feels like simple greed. Really disappointed in this decision. Guess I’m saying goodbye to memories unless I pay. I’m struggling to put food on the table for the child whose memories I’d had on this app.
One request but otherwise amazing!
What a fantastic idea! I first seen this idea on Shark Tank long before I had my daughter. One thing that I would love is to be able to edit the layout of the book. Sometimes I have really short post and would like two on the same page. Could this become a feature!?
Pictures look better in the app than on paper
I just received the book and I am utterly disappointed. I have put so much work into it! It would have been easier to print out some pictures in Walmart. They would end up better quality. Rearranging the pictures in the book is impossible. You might get a huge picture of a dirty baby sitting alone, and a tiny picture of your entire family with eight people in a frame. You cannot change size or number of pictures per page. At least I did not see how and it was not obvious. Title page is not centered. Not worth it! Stay away! Unsubscribe!
Cute app but subscription not worth it.
I love the idea behind this app, I’m looking forward to putting together our book at the end of the first year. However, I paid for a subscription to get more questions and I full regret it. I just get sent the same 20 questions over and over and over again. I’m not sure how many times I can answer “where is your favourite place to give baby kisses”…it’s to the point I now skip 90% of the questions I’m sent. Just keep the free version. The subscription is truly a waste of money.
Great app, have used for 5 years
I buy a journal book every year and treasure having these memories of my kiddo.
AI generated questions
I’ve been using Qeepsake for a while so I saw the change when they started using AI to generate questions that are seasonally inappropriate and just don’t make sense at all. “What imaginative stories does child create about pumpkins?” “What autumn sensory experience seems to fascinate child the most?” Ok first of all, it’s spring… also what kind of questions are those? I emailed support and immediately received an AI generated response that did not address my concerns. Very disappointed and am considering canceling which is a bummer because I have enjoyed it for so long.
Questions are repetitive, and at times irrelevant
I like the fact that this app makes it easy to keep track of your memories with your kid(s). However, at times the questions are redundant (ex, what’s something funny that your baby did this week...nothing, they are 1 month old), or they often times repeat themselves. I suggest you add more age appropriate questions, and work on the frequency of repeat questions.
Comment
Hi I would like to add captions with texts into my photos, thanks, other than that it’s great
Buy Me!
This is one of the very best purchases I have made since having my little one almost four years ago. So many wonderful memories have been captured, most with photos! I also love the feature of being able to pick how many questions you’d like to be asked and the frequency of them. This is truly such a wonderful thing to have for busy families who don’t have the time to scrapbook or record memories!
Good until it’s not
I started this with my first born in 2022 and was pleased with the ease of adding daily pictures and memories. But with the addition of new kids and the pricy upgrades I tried to do minimal charges. Now I am confronted with a notification that my account will be deleted and I will lose all my progress if I do not buy or upgrade. I can’t even adjust the book entries if I decided to purchase one. I haven’t been inactive either, adding a new memory a few weeks ago. I do not appreciate being held hostage for my kids memories with buying upgrades or expensive books I can’t even customize now. If I can warn everyone that this will happen, I was caught off guard and am extremely displeased.
My favorite way to save memories of my kids!!
I found this app when my oldest was 2 (he’s 8 now), and I absolutely love it!!! I print a yearly book for each of my 3 kids and it’s a great way to capture big and small memories. I love that the app is so easy to use, that I can text in memories, and that you can prompt yourself with questions each day. It’s a fantastic app and one I’ve recommended to so many friends and family!
Another Broken App
Am I shocked that a working and free app is changing to a paid model for just the basics of not only the one entry per week service, but also the *privilege* of accessing the app at all? No. I’m not. Opened it today to find that I can’t even look at any of my entries, there is now a pop up wall that gives three options - shell out for the Qeepsake Lite, go to the store where I can preview a generated journal that I can pay for, or delete my account all together, even though the official change isn’t happening for two more weeks. Oh well. Guess I’ll go back to traditional journaling where at least the (once a week) questions won’t include common knowledge items, like who the president was when my baby was born.
A way to preserve memories and have a full time job!
Sometimes it feel impossible to do it all, but a small hack like using Qeepsake has made the world of difference for me. For years now, I’ve been taking a picture with a quick caption (in real time to the best of my ability) and upload it to Qeepsake, and at the end of the year I have a beautiful heirloom book to print for my children. Without spending 100 hours at the end of the year doing the organizing. Thank you for saving my sanity Qeepsake!
Upgrades impossible
I signed up for the essential annual plan and five months later decided I wanted the premium plan because I ran out of uploads. Apple will not allow me to upgrade my sub subscription until the initial annual subscription expires. Qeepsake cannot help until Apple cancels my plan, which I cannot do without customer service.
Easily a parenting favorite!!
I have been using Qeepsake for 8 years, and while I do not typically review apps, this one is easy to recommend! It is so quick for me to save memories through the app and it has at least two HUGE benefits! First, the act of answering the creative questions helps to grow my own gratitude for the gift that mothering my littles is, even on the hard days! Second, as they look back with smiles on their annual books, it is *clear* that they feel so loved!
Endless Issues, Customer Service MIA
I loved Qeepsake when I used the free version a few years ago. Now I upgraded to premium and am having several issues. Journal entries aren’t accurate one day to the next. I’m not getting text or app notifications with daily questions even after changing the settings and re-installing the app. I’ve messaged customer service, but they don’t respond. Did they respond when I asked about upgrading to premium? You bet! Do they respond to me now that I need help? NOPE.
The best baby book!
We made a Qeepsake book for each kid. The app is great - easy to use and with intuitive features. The customer service is also fantastic! Highly recommend!
Not compatible with new iOS
The app does not work with iOS 26.1. Are there any updates on when a new version will be released? I’ve been told by customer service to use the website instead, but it’s difficult to navigate from a phone and not what I planned on using when paying for the premium membership.
