Great cryptic puzzling.
Plenty of cryptic crossword action for the price. Not too difficult but enough to tax your brain. And if you’re in the UK the clues and answers are aimed at UK English language speakers.
Where have they gone?
Purchase all the packs a while ago, now they have disappeared and I have to pay again, not great!
Good cryptics, large enough grid and keyboard
These are okay cryptics, and I prefer using this app to doing other cryptics in Puzzazz, in which the grid and keyboard are too small on my phone, this because Puzzazz shows multiple clues while BestCrosswordCryptics shows just one (in portrait view).

Cryptic crosswords I can solve
I was really great to find a bunch of cryptic crosswords - my Dad and I used to the the ones in the Age back when we got hard copy papers. But only on certain days because every creator is different and some’s minds just did not work the way either of ours did. The only reason I’ve given this 4 starts, is because while I can solve the puzzles, some answers I figure out without actually understanding how it fit with the clue. I checked online and for those, they couldn’t figure it out either. Also a minor thing is the way it jumps around assuming where you are going next, which if you’ve made a mistake, trying to go back, you end up changing letters where you do ‘t mean too.
Terrible clues on some
Yes, I know these are cryptic clues. However, many of them have barely the most tenuous connection to the answers. Usually when an answer is revealed to a tricky clue there is an “aaah, clever” moment, at least with the best written ones. With many here I’ve been left wondering if clues were written with AI, or someone who just doesn’t understand that cryptic clues NEED TO BE SOLVEABLE, and not just have some peripheral connection with their answers in their wording. If you have both clue and answer in front of you, in MOST cases the thinking behind the clue should become apparent. But that is not the case with far too many of the clues here to put it down to my own shortcomings. The clues in Teazel’s cryptic app are generally far better.

Changed phone, lost purchase!
Was enjoying the app but I had to change my phone and even though my progress was restored on the new phone, my purchase doesn’t seem to be! All the puzzles are locked again and it’s asking me to re-buy what I’ve already paid for?
In app purchases
I downloaded this app because there was no mention of in app purchase in the App Store description. I enjoyed the first two puzzles but was very shocked when at this stage before I’d got hooked I was asked for money! Sorry folks, good app but not good enough to open my purse strings.
Great Value
Witty puzzles at just the right difficultly level. There's a slight geographical lean to the UK audience (football teams, British counties etc.) but not too much. Overall a really good, value for money app for those who enjoy a challenging but entirely doable set of puzzles.
Needs explanations, so many clues are unfathomable!
This app is not as good as the other cryptic crosswords app that we tried, many clues are just impossible

It can be hard to find cryptic crosswords. These are challenging enough to be interesting but not so hard as to be frustrating. I have purchased all the packs and they are worth every penny. Five stars!
They just lost some stars with me
I just got a pop up notification advertising another of their apps - "Codewords". The pop up was titled "Teazel Update". As a paid customer, I expect not to be spammed for other products in an app.
“Explain clue” reveal?
Is there an “explain clue” reveal option on this app? I don’t see it on the free puzzles and don’t want to purchase the puzzle packs if there isn’t
Glitch
Puzzles appear locked I purchased this app and paid to access all the puzzles. I can see the packs however most of the puzzles are locked and only 2 puzzles are available per pack. Please can you explain how to access them. Thanks
Lazy and obscure
The earlier version of this was great. There were help clues and explanations. This one has no clues or explanations and the answers are conjured from thin air. Save your money.

Finally cracking it!
As the only member of my family who didn’t ‘do’ cryptic crosswords I found them very frustrating. You just need to know ‘oh, that’s a signal for this’ or ‘this abbreviation means that’. I tried to learn from a book, but the ‘Learn Cryptic Crosswords app’ also from Teazel is much better and more engaging, and this app gives you reasonably easy practice.
Cryptic REVIEW
Love it. Can do it over and over because by the time I’ve done the lot I can start again and it seems fresh again.
Only a handful of free puzzles...
I was disappointed that I could only do two free puzzles per group; the only way to “unlock” more is to pay! Puzzles themselves were okay, but clearly British/UK as many of the answers aren’t what we call those things in America.

I’ve enjoyed the daily challenge of these puzzles. But now I’ve completed all 300 I’m left wanting more - please?
Enjoyable but repeated clues
I do like the app, however I’ve noticed the same or very similar clues are repeated. I also think anagrams are used too much.
Clear cryptic
Not the most difficult such as the best of The Times, The Guardian and The Daily Telegraph. But clever and interesting and joyful to do. Would be very good for cryptic crossword beginners.
Good puzzles - some answers obscure
Good puzzles and nice to use, but some answers hard to link to clues.

Great as always from these guys. Only improvement would be to add the explanation of answers as an option, the same as previous apps I’ve bought from you.

Really like these crosswords and is something my partner and I do together. Better than scrolling through twitter.
User friendly
I've used crossword apps that don't work intuitively and logically, but this does. Very easy to navigate between clues and make alterations, and a satisfying fireworks display on completion! The only very small change I might make for my own personal use would be to make the clues slightly more cryptic and requiring more thought, but I enjoy solving them anyway and it's great to be able to dip in and out, killing time while relaxing, traveling or waiting, without having to carryi a puzzle book around.
