Great app to help a person budget
My family uses this app to help me budget.
No way to cancel
I’ve spent over 5 minutes trying to cancel my trial and there’s no obvious way to do it. Feels like a scam! I try to go to support, no one answers.. I go to delete my account and it says cancel subscription first—and takes me to the same run-around subscription upgrade section with no clear way to cancel. Terrible experience. Apple, please investigate them!
Budget management
This app is helping me take control of my finances. I am starting to see where my money is going and where I need to make adjustments.
Don’t plan on free
For an app trying to help with finances it’s frustrating how much it wants you to give it subscriptions. Only allowed to connect two accounts for free, but doesn’t even support Cashapp, which is personally how I get paid from one of my jobs, so between these issues more than half of my spending isn’t even being seen by the app.
Widgets
I use daily Emma and I like it a lot but I am hoping that emma can create widgets. Do you have any ongoing plan for creating widgets?

Revolut?
Cancelled my subscription because you don’t allow Revolut accounts to be added.
Great App - needs a few changes.
Love the app. They’re almost where they need to be but there are a few annoyances that need to be addressed. When creating a budget, make sure you’re creating it in a “space” so it can be shared with a spouse. As a new user, I put a lot of time into creating the budget only to find out I can share it because I hadn’t created a “space” yet. There is no feature to copy the budget to the space so I have to rebuild it. Not a deal breaker but a thorn in my side as a new user. Overall, super happy with the app and functionality. I’m optimistic!
Headline App
Looks great. Works great. Doing the 7 day trial now and everything is behind an upgrade to a more expensive plan. After 7 days you have to pay a little per month. Ok. Fine. It is nice. But then you try to do anything like create a more useful category and suddenly an upgrade is required. Nothing but a greedy cash grab now. Cool powerful app. Not worth the extra money though for such common features.
Too many useless notifications
Budgeting part works fine but my god do they send all kinds of useless notifications that you can’t turn off unless you turn them all off.
very good at tracking
very good at tracking
Missing Transactions
I really wanted to love this app. I invested in this when I was already paying for another app as I thought the design was great. However, transactions are repeatedly missing. The number one job of a budgeting app is to be reliable and track transactions, which is clearly not the case here. Unfortunately I paid for the yearly plan through Apple and I am having trouble getting a refund so be warned
Partner sharing
As someone who shares budgets with my partner, it would be nice to integrate someone else (preferably cross platform, they use Google pixels and I use iPhones) using the same payment. We have the same bank accounts.
Hate the update that removed features from the free version
I want to start by saying the functionality of this app is amazing and it works really well. I used the free version of this app for the past two or three years and recently they changed access to the most important feature that I got the app for - budgeting and tracking recurring expenses. I love how this app works, but if I have to pay for a budgeting app, I’ll go back to using spreadsheets.
No french banks
I couldnt use the app because they don’t have french banks
Amazing
Awesome
I never write reviews
But I had to because this app absolutely blows. And when you don't want to use it, it takes forever to actually get rid of because they're clearly desperate to keep people. Be sure to cancel your subscription before you get rid of it also because if you don't and you delete your account, they'll still charge you.
Still No Widgets?
Could you please let me know when the widgets are coming out? It’s seriously a make or break it kind of thing. What gets measured gets managed but you have to see what is getting measured… otherwise it doesn’t actually get taken into account. I saw a reply from the developers that they were working on these 9 months ago? Was this true, are they still planning to be released. I really need to manage my business and personal finances separately and that’s what you guys do that co-pilot doesn’t but they have widgets that are much much better. So if they beat you to developing the spaces component and catch up to you before you get widgets, you may be in a bit of trouble from a competition standpoint for business owners.
App Doesn’t Sync Well At All
This app doesn’t sync well at all. It’s constantly telling me an incorrect balance in my checking account and is behind on transactions as well as behind on regular biweekly to monthly subscriptions. It takes up to 24 hours to update, sometimes longer, so while the app does say I may have let’s say $80 in my account, it’s not accurate, because usually I have way less than that or way more than that. It just took up to 26 hours to be able to tell that I got paid when I got paid early last night. It shouldn’t take this long. App should refresh and sync every few hours.
Sync issues
I liked the app a lot at first but I had so many problems synching my accounts. Not worth the money.
A surprise
I was lucky to choose Emma after a long list and demo with others
“Must be resident of USA”
Ok I understand this but I literally have an American bank account. Just because you see my IP address as Thailand doesn’t mean I’m not American and have American account. Thailand won’t even let me open a bank account because I’m a foreigner and now I’m trying to track my wealth and you won’t even let me connect my AMERICAN BANK ACCOUNT BECAUSE I HAPPEN TO NOT BE IN AMERICA RIGHT NOW??! Please update this issue and learn how to be inclusive…
Redesign is confusing
Used to love the Emma app to track my budgets and finances but with the new redesign a lot of my fav features are hidden away in confusing locations and the layout no longer serves me. I’ll be trying out a few different apps
Great until today??
App opens but is completely frozen. Have rebooted my phone twice. Shame!
great tool
helped me a lot
Terrible
I spent an hour with them on customer service trying to figure out why transactions wouldn’t show up when they previously had. They kept asking me what I might be doing wrong. Like was i filtering transactions incorrectly . Ultimately, they figured out. It was an update that they had made to the app which excluded business transactions from showing up in my history without telling me and the solution wants to pay them more money to get a more premium service. Not a great look, but what’s worse, is not communicating it, and continuing to gaslight me after I kept insisting that something had changed on their end
Billing
I’ve noticed that my subscription was canceled by the developer, so will I only charged for the get month that I used and will be able to get a refund back for the rest?
It’s good
If you need help budgeting this is the app for you
THEY SELL YOUR INFO
They clearly sell our info!!! I did NOT put my phone number anywhere for the past weeks. And oh how surprising that now I get 10+ phone calls from scam EVERY SINGLE DAY ! They also ask you 8 TIMES if you really want to delete your account and offer you a bunch of unnecessary things. You should not even exist!!
Pay more for what you had
They strip away business account access without any communication, forcing you to upgrade and pay more for what it was working. I’m a paying customer for several years and I’m calling it done, deleting my account.
Weak
My initial experience started fine and was quickly damaged by the app requiring a subscription just to set up my budget. Support claims it’s not required, but I could not proceed without it. I will acknowledge that they provide a 7-day free trial, but I was not interested. I’m exhausted being preyed on by companies and these money games. A budgeting trying to screw with my budget with a pricey subscription is not what I expected. This was downloaded to handle financial business but the app is setting roadblocks to that goal.
Budgeting
This app has helped me and my husband get on the same page with budgeting.
Dishonest app
I was once an avid promoter of Emma, but I’ve become disappointed with their misleading offers. I am on the Emma Plus plan, which claims to update from my bank inputs 4 times a day. In actuality, it updates once in the middle of the day. If this isn’t changed I will be switching to Quicken 🙂
Pleasantly surprised
Was a bit taken aback seeing an app with my deadname - Downloaded it just to see if it was a good choice. now it’s literally the only budgeting app I trust
Joke of an app
I pay yearly for the plus plan, they took away features I was using and raised them to higher plans. It wasn’t communicated to me, and they refuse to give me a refund. The twitter shows the feature “net worth” should be a part of my plus plan; the ceo assures me it is not, because for some reason the ceo is doing customer service. What a joke; who would pay a premium to be treated this way?
