Controls are bad
Unplayable. The camera is buggy and difficult to navigate the game when building.
Good but with significant bugs
It’s really fun but multiple scenarios so far (“The Great Game,” “Freedom”) have bugs where events that are necessary to progress the scenario don’t trigger. In The Great Game, I restarted like six times and only when I returned to it the next day did I get the pop ups elucidating the end game conditions and allowing me to choose one. Similar thing happened in “Freedom” twice (so far… I haven’t successfully gotten through it yet) where I didn’t get the building contracts that were supposed to pop up.
Bugged missions!!
This game is fun and all but for this price, it should run. Many missions just bug out and never trigger events. You end up playing a long time on a mission but cant ever complete it. I don’t recommend any game where the devs can’t be bothered to produce a working product. Find another game!!!
2026 review
Love this game, I’ve been playing for a long time and it’s easily one of my favorite city builders on mobile. One thing that could make it even better would be adding more advanced difficulty options, such as higher crime rates and increased standards of living, to really challenge experienced players. Another idea that could be fun is an optional “sandbox” with unlimited money, while still keeping key mechanics active (like rebel attacks, unrest, and consequences). That way players can experiment and build creatively without removing all challenge. Overall though, amazing game these additions could really take it to the next level for long term players.
GREAT PORT
I’ve played Tropico 4 & 6. I absolutely loved them and had a blast with both of them. My PC recently broke down and I haven’t had the money to repair it. But I was feining for Tropico tropico so desperately bought this one and what a game. From what I’ve seen it’s a port from Tropico 3 but it has plenty of content for a mobile Tropico and it’s amazing. I’ve had no bugs in campaign nor sandbox. It does load it a little slower once you reach the time limit and keep playing but besides that, 0 issues. Great game for experienced tropico players and new ones! The tutorial and first campaign missions are a great way to learn!! $13 is quite pricey for a mobile game but I’ve most definitely spent more than 30 hours on this game so it was well worth my money.

I’m still playing after the first week and still enjoying it so far
Add controller support
I keep coming back to this game after buying it in 2020 but I cannot enjoy it at all because it’s only touch controls which are super intuitive. A simple update to add controls for controllers would make this version way better than what it is currently.
Crash after year 2001
I love this game but it seems to be crashing after auto saving in year 2001. Deletes all my newly built buildings

This game runs great on the iPad. I really like all the add ons. I have been playing it off and on mainly because it’s very replayable and also you don’t need an internet connection to enjoy it. I was hoping for more content eventually to keep it fresh.
Length, unlimited Money
I just bought it! But I didn’t know it’s not like PC! Here you cant play with unlimited money, ok maybe it is not problem! But length time! Why? You play from 1950 maximum limit to 2000!! Then games end you have to play again from the beginning
Great Game w/ some bugs
Wonderful game and great port! Unfortunately some events don’t get triggered leading to some missions being impossible to complete.
Not enough options to make more difficult
My first experience with this series was tropico 4. I remember it being a lot more difficult with challenges like constant rebel attacks (not scripted like some missions), higher standards for happiness, and a lot more crime. I have never had any criminals in any game. I had a slum city of 10 tenements side by side and the crime around it never even got to yellow. I’m not sure if there’s been a change in this port. I know there were changes in feral’s empire port so I assume there is an ability to make changes to the gameplay. If you could amp up the difficulty, this would be a 5 star port. I enjoy the game, but as a $3 pocket city experience. This is a $12 dollar game yet I lose interest in 30 minutes.

Poor 3-D view and touchpad gameplay.
The zoom in and zoom out mechanics does work properly when using your fingers. It’s difficult to switch from a certain bird’s eye view to a more 3-D view of the game. Building roads are not smooth even with using straight form instead of free-form. The A.I. glitched when I hired foreign workers for a production building such as an oil refinery and they don’t arrive at the building and start working.
Feral never misses
Love this game it’s my intro to the tropico series but please add cloud saves to allow users to alternate between iPad and iPhone with the same presidente pot favor ! Only reason why this is not five stars. Great work dev team you guys killin it

Alway a challenging fun game
I have been playing Tropico since it came out on the PC and it is a great experience. Having it at my fingertips is such a plus. 5/5 recommended.
Broken
War or Peace mission does not work, including other missions. Sometimes roads will no longer work with no fix.
Great game - v tricky new scenario (?impossible)
Love this game… and great to have the new expansion (Tropican Dream). One gripe - the “Boycotts” scenario seems to be impossible, and crucially runs to end of 1989 (not 1990).

Bugged missions
There seems to be a prevailing bug that makes it so that the various mission events often do not pop up as they should, which makes some of the story missions unplayable. Sometimes restarting the app might help, but it’s relatively common that the events stop popping up after a while- especially when the almanac reaches 20 archives messages. Would be great to get this fixed.
All hail “TROPICO”
The game TROPICO is so good, realistic, and sometimes funny! I know what you might be thinking “$12.99 !?!?!?!!?!? Holy ——-” That’s exactly what I was like. I looked at the videos and I did not trust them because of how other games are, but I was going to take the risk, so far I love it and is definitely the best risk I took! I love it’s realism and I wish they would continue developing it and though I would like some sky scrapers and more tech companies and stuff like that.

Great adaptation, phone overheated
Well made & fun but had to stop playing as my iPhone 12 was overheating, which hasn’t been an issue with other games. Still great while it lasted will probably install again if I get an iPad or newer phone.

Purchased on 1st day i bought my reasonably priced ipad 64gb 2021 edition os 17 running Played few times but noticed issues In campaign Viva Tropico, When i delete certain items like the seats ect next to a building it crashes the whole Game On restart it reloads an old game i quitted sometime ago Have contacted devs by crash report ect, Think it needs a ios update
Amazing . Addicting
The game is very immersive. There is sooo much detail. And lots of in game information. You can see and track each in game person; see all kinds of information about them . You can see how happy they are , how much they have, how happy they are with you!….you can be a democracy . Or a dictatorship. You can bribe people , cause them to have an “accident “ .. it’s so detailed and immersive. There’s so much to do… the controls are easy to use. It’s so fun. Truly an amazing game . And we’ll done for iPhone

Okay on the whole.
I’ve been playing Trópico for a couple of months now and it’s okay. The concept of being a local dictator is fun, the graphics are amazing and the game is easy as well as generally enjoyable. Where it becomes a tad irritating is waiting forever for your construction crews to build farms and such. In addition to this, the messages, for example, ‘you need to build a church/cathedral/school’, appear to be out of sync with the game as more often than not you’ve often built the item in question.
Not easy to use on iPad
I personally found it too tedious trying to move around using your fingers on the iPad. Not for me at all

Second game they don’t take into account the black bar where the ear goes that allowed you to quick switch apps. Ruins game flow every time
Recommendations
Could you add some more taller buildings and other essential such as; • Business office; e.g. increases export profit • Mall; e.g. Improves Tourism/functions as market • Charity Centre etc. Also I think the rocks around the hills are actually unnecessary and is the only thing that looks kind of old school silly in the game. I’m not saying to take it all off but at least have some maps or preference options that could remove that. Please use whatever idea you see fit, thank you,

Frustrating!!!
Having played and completed both Tropico 5 and 6 and all the DLC that came with them on PS it’s safe to say I’m a fan and having spent hours upon hours on the series I’m a bit of a master at it. So waiting around for Tropico 7 to be released on console I seen this in IOS and was open to giving it a shot knowing to lower my expectations being a mobile version. But my god it’s annoying. Runs fine on my IPad Air 3 and the graphics are great too! But the fact it differs so much from the console version in presentation the info bar at the bottom taking up a 1/3 of the screen buildings looking and operating differently to console versions. I felt like a complete noob playing it and had to learn from scratch on just recognising buildings for a start! The camera is shocking and using with your fingers just frustrates beyond belief. No trade screen I can find anyway buildings taking for ever to build and even get up and running? It’s just bad. So bad. Wish there was a demo to try first. Can’t understand the glowing reviews?
Currently stuck on a level due to bug!
LOVE the game, and how it’s been adapted for iPad. However, there is a bug where the options under government, industry and tourism do not show any options when trying to build thus making it impossible to beat the freedom map in the campaign. 5/5 if it wasn’t for that damn bug.

Crashes in tutorial
Uninstalled and refund requested, love the tropico games, played it when it first came out on pc and enjoyed it a lot, it’s been a while and the tutorial here is fundamental to learning how to use on iPad but crashes same place every time on the use 2 fingers to pitch cam up and down, I have up to date iOS and tried restarting iPad to no avail, beyond these things it really isn’t my job to make the game stable, paying 9.99 for the game is a price enough that I should be able to play this on mini 6 fully optimised with no issues, if the devs want to push the game thru for free to me to test it is fixed I will then gladly pay for the game til then I will have to pass.
Great port
I was reluctant to purchase due to price but glad I did. Previously played casually on Xbox and it looks and feels the same on iPad Pro. Plenty of hours of play here. controls are a little frustrating at times, particularly road placement. But don’t let that put you off. Overall it plays great. Biggest problem, battery gets rinsed quickly. Altering battery settings helps a little.

Very very frustrating to use on the iPhone. I feel I have wasted my money. Just moving around the map and zooming in and out is a disaster.
