Perfect motivation

I genuinely never leave a review for a game let alone a app, but this app is truly unique from most other apps. I downloaded this app expecting little, believing that it may boost my motivation to run for cross country season. However, I soon found out how addicting this game can be. With little to no way to gain too much progress in this game without steps, the app creates a perfect loop for me to continue to run. Furthermore, the rpg is simple yet enjoyable. Although, some may find it boring and lacking in storytelling, the app itself is great way to induce motivation. I thank the creators of this app. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Great Motivation

This game gives a lot of motivation for you to walk consistently. Sometimes, you forget you are playing the game. It is not necessary to have to spend in order to have fun with it either. I only wished it syncs to non-Apple products like Garmin. I have to keep my phone in hand or pocket for the steps to count. If you do play, my referral code is jd8v8. This app is an excellent motivator to push a little more every day. Rewards occur both for small wins and for larger ones, so the motivation is always there. Some things are a bit rough around the edges, but the core of the game is solid.

Not what I was expecting

For a game that has such high ratings on the IOS platform, I’m quite surprised. This review is after playing the game for 45 minutes. This is a paid game that requires $60 a year to play after the 7 day trial so it isn’t free. Yet I definitely feel like this is a free game with how much I am bombarded by notifications to purchase something in the game. I feel like I have a car salesman breathing down my neck the whole time and it’s quite annoying especially if I’m already paying for the game. The concept of the game is commendable though, I just wish it looked better being this a is a paid game. The dialogue is fine but nothing riveting. I definitely feel like I’m not getting my moneys worth. Even if only 10,000 people subscribe to this game that’s 600K a year. The developers can certainly do better in my opinion. This game has promise but it needs to be refined more and get rid of the constant bombardment of trying to sell things. This is expected from free games but not paid games.

Motivating with several flaws

First off, I truly want to give this app 5 stars. I find the app’s step counter motivating and the gameplay itself to be simple enough to push me to move more in my day. I also like how the ads are integrated, making them optional and not too disruptive. However, there’s several issues that sadly hold this back. The first major problems is connectivity issues with Fitbit. It could be an Apple problem, but I looked online to find a solution and cannot figure out how to have the two apps communicate. Because I have to rely on the iPhone’s flimsy step counter, I cannot get all my walking points. Echoing other people’s comments, there are also way too many currencies and it’s confusing to determine which currency does what. Lastly, there’s also too many disruptive notifications throughout the day to stop what I’m doing and turn on the app, which kind of defeats the purpose of using the app to encourage walking. Hopefully the Dev team can find solutions around these issues, especially the Fitbit Connectivity issue, because this truly is a fun game and makes me want to keep walking.

Needs more of a fitness focus. No reason to go over 10k steps

Note: if they could release a more fitness based app, it would be glorious. It won’t give you credit for running. I thought this was about exercising so I was running a bunch until I realized I didn’t get any credit for running. Bummer! This is like a time sink where you spend more time trying to actually be able to progress in the game rather than progress in real life. I deleted and then reinstalled after deleting and emailed the devs before writing my complaints: 1. You don’t get any benefit for doing more than 10,000 steps in a day except for pure aesthetics, which is NOT fitness based. When I first got the game, I was super motivated and doing closer to 20,000 to 25,000 steps a day until I realized that the result and reward were not actually helping me progress. They want your progress instead to be doing like 50 menial things in the app each day to gain just a bit of progress. Frustrating cause if they could make a LITE version where it’s more hardcore fitness based, it would be glorious. 2. If they want to do ads, do ads on stuff that makes sense like the treasure chest for doing your steps. That way you can get extra stuff for the exercise rather than doing all the medial Tedious things in the game. That way they get more ad revenue if you want to do that and you also get more benefit that fills meaningful. 3. They made too much of something into a bad thing. All the side things in the game just feels like you’re playing an idle game like IFK Arena rather than actually doing something fitness related. It’s frustrating because even though I reinstalled it, the game just takes too much time and energy and then you’re wondering why you’re not actually exercising or progressing

I was enjoying it…but

Update: Losing that small part of my game helped me realize that it was just sucking my life away, and I wasn’t even enjoying it anymore. It became a chore to do each day, with a fear that if I didn’t do it I would lose out and fall behind, or that all my previous time sunk into the game would be worthless if I didn’t continue sinking time into it. But thanks to yesterday‘s events, I gained the strength to delete the app entirely without backing it up. And I DO NOT regret it! I can’t recommend this game to anyone not looking to experience addictive behavior while also losing interest over time. I’ve been playing this game constantly for months now, well over half a year. And I was enjoying it. But today I came upon something I didn’t enjoy. I joined a guild right at the start of my game, and I faithfully checked in every day, including doing super check-ins. It was the #2 guild on my server, and I was one of the top contributors. Well, I didn’t check in for one singular day (that being yesterday), and I logged on today to find that I had been removed from the guild. After all that time! I honestly felt quite betrayed and angry, after being so loyal to this guild. I understand this is not the app’s fault directly. However, guild leaders cannot be removed from their positions until they have not logged in for 7 days or more. Why is there no protection in place for guild members, who also contribute greatly and feel loyal to their guilds, and take pride in helping level it up? I felt so betrayed that instead of joining a different guild, I started my own, precisely in order to get that 7 days of protection. But the guild system will not work if everyone does that. Also, it would be nice if you could disconnect yourself from your “master.” I understand why you may not want to do this, I just don’t want to see the user who kicked me out of their guild as my “master” anymore. :/ Thanks for listening to my rant. I hope you’ll consider some fix in order to avoid future frustrations among players.

Hidden gem

Well made, visually appealing, motivating. Looking for something to help motivate me to move more. I really enjoy the level of detail that the game has. There’s enough to do to keep you coming back, but you can’t succeed without getting in some steps. I appreciate as someone who struggles that the low bar is 50 steps. That may seem silly to some, but it’s perfect to get your first win of the day.

Too Expensive to play with little return

First I will say it is fun to play and a great Idea and it has been put together quite well. The developers also seem fairly responsive. However, sadly it seems more like a money grabbing app rather than focused on getting us to exercise as is the claim. It is true your steps are needed to increase the levels or mine for add-ons called glyphs. But everything else is focused on forcing you to spend crystals which are brought with real money with very little in return. Playing the game and not buying crystals is near impossible and you are required to use them, rather than your steps on everything. For example... when it adds your steps it offers a big increase if you spend crystals To “mine” decent glyphs it’s 200 crystals each time. To participate in more challenges than allocated, which you must do to get anywhere is up to 200 crystals a pop which only gives 6 extra challenges. You must use crystals if you wish to battle in the arena past 10 times which is needed to get better equipment. And again if you wish to skip an opponent whose too strong. You get pets which are cute and help but if you want to improve their abilities it’s more crystals each time To add extra pet team spots so they can join you in battle is expensive the last spot costs 15k (over $30 of real money for one spot) and if that’s not bad enough, they make you pay it three times over ($90+) if you want to use them in all of the 3 places you can battle. That adds up between $100-200 just for that!!. If you want change the extra attributes of your team it’s 200 crystals even if you decide keep with the original... To get daily extras some cost more crystal for little extra You pay all this money and you are still required to watch ads for just about everything. There is also a monthly subscription on top of the real money needed to play. While it gives daily steps, it only give 150 crystals where even the $3 offer gives you 3000and most things are more than 150 crystals Not only that you are still subject to all the ads you were before which feels like double dipping. there is still much more I could list where you have to buy their crystals. Basically to do anything you have to spend money, not use the steps you take. Even they convert to a much smaller number in the game, which in turn makes you more reliant on buying Crystals It’s a game that required you to spend what adds up to hundreds and thousands of real dollars if you wish to progress and only uses your steps as a small part. It seems backwards to me if the focus is to help people exercise. The game is fun to play but not $1000+ worth of fun. People seem to have brought up these concerns in the past but while the developers are responsive on other matters they seem to ignore this glaring money grab. Meanwhile what you earn in steps does very little compared. And it is so glaring that it overshines everything else that I can only give it one star. I want to recommend this game and I would give 5 star otherwise but until they do a complete overhaul of what they give back for all the real money spent, increase what our steps are for, decrease what we have to pay for so it is more balanced, fair & exercise focused and stop double dipping I cannot recommend this app in good faith. It is a money pit. I do ask the developers to fix this and make the game more fair and balanced like other games. You’ll still make plenty of money if you look after your customers. :-/

I love the concept the app has. The only thing is I wish you could choose to battle with more choice in attacks and defenses to make it more engaging. I Like It, But It's Too Big...

I like the concept and art a lot. It does its job and is really cute! However, I feel like the game is a bit Much. There are so many random rewards you get for minimal effort, and every time I open the app, it takes forever to go through story mode battles, arena battles, event battles... For a game-ified step counter, I feel like it sucks up way too much time and is a bit tedious to actually play. If the entire achievements menu was removed, or at least brought down to one tab instead of four, I'd be more willing to open the app.

Amazing

Very motivating, not confusing, absolute perfection. Bugs and issues: the taunt ability causes the snowy enemies to attack the warrior AND the back top, which goes against taunt. It also messes with taking damage and animation timing. Also, I built a balanced team that randomly gets wiped by a team of mages and warlocks, so make magic skills less OP. Please. Also make wrath more effective against last stand? And make the rogues survive ability more effective against magic skills. If you fix these issues (I will add more if I find them) it would be absolute gold. New issue: I got the CNY priest robe and loved it. 2 days later I ranked up my priest and the outfit I got from that deleted my CNY robe. I can’t get a new one because it still says I own it so I can’t get it back. PLEASE do something to fix this!!!

Surprisingly good…

Let’s start with the bad! WAY too many currencies, they’re are at least 9 and none of them really make sense except for silver and gems. They don’t even really explain how to spend them all but they do explain where they come from. It’s overwhelming sometimes. The interface is god awful. Notification badges on things that you don’t even have any need to open. Like 4 given store icons on your screen at any given time. Tiny text and not easily discernible icons forcing you learn the whole interface before you can even click around on the right stuff. Super important stores buried in multiple menus and things that don’t make sense that cannot be interacted with (what the heck are pet puzzle pieces? What is a pet chest? Why are there no explainers for this stuff). Otherwise, the game is actually pretty dang fun. It has an MTX element no doubt but the core mechanic of steps and fitness superceeds that which I highly respect. In fact, it’s actually more efficient to just do excersize than to pay for anything. The story is absurd and ridiculous but I kind of love how funny it can be. There actually seems to be a ton of content as I’ve been playing for over a week and I’m not that strong and my story line isn’t even 35% of the way in. Guilds are cool but there isn’t much interaction with guild mates. You can battle other players which is a little unpolished but does exist. Overall, it’s pretty fun! Definitely does make me want to go for a walk when I’m close to my next step chest and theirs enough stuff to keep me interested. If it had a little clean up, this could be an S tier game.

Frustrating

The game is fun at first but the more you move on, the more frustrating it gets. You finally get enough pet pieces to upgrade a pet (can take 6+ months to even be able to hit the upgrade button ONCE) and you only have a CHANCE of that pet upgrading. If it doesnt, the pet stays at the same amount of stars it was but it goes back to level one and you lose all of those pet pieces you have been collection for god knows how long. I have had a 92% chance of my pet upgrading and it failed. Also, with 6* equipment from the honor market: it takes days to save up enough for a 6* chest. Oh and you can only get a 6* chest every other day. So if you have finally have enough to buy one, you may have to wait until tomorrow. What happens when you do buy one though? It gives you a random assortment of of four 6* equipments that you most likely want none of but other days, all 4 are something you want! You can only pick one though. If you try to get a hold of a developer, they either take forever to respond, don’t respond or are very vague and confusing in their response, to the point where there is really no point to messaging them in the first place. Oh and trying to finish the Inferno levels and getting three stars in them takes and eternity and a lot of fristration because no matter how strong your heros are, you will have to do the levels over and over and over till you get the exact attacks at the exact round you want them at because you are unable to choose if and when you want to use them. You just have to hope that the 27th time is the charm and it will finally give you the perfect combo (I’m not kidding btw, I have had to play many levels well over 20x). I have spent A LOT of real money and put an ungodly amount of hours into this game and I really liked it before but its not worth the frustration and disappointment. There are also a lot of bugs that the developers just don’t do anything about or even respond to. The instructions are VERY unclear and sometime just straight up incorrect also. So basically, I would not recommend starting to play this game because you will probably get addicted to it and just end up really disappointed. I have been playing for hours a day for almost a year and I’m sad at even the thought of deleting it but its driving me insane at this point

Confusing & Not Motivating

Giving three stars because the app seems to function without many bugs, despite lots of features. The problems are multiple. There are SO many places to check to help your game that you spend more time doing that than walking. There are like ten different kinds of currencies, some of which you can only earn by walking but others you can earn by watching ads or paying. So it kinda motivates you to do that instead of walking. My main issue is that everything is just kind of thrown at you without much explanation. I did the tutorial but there are SO many mechanics that it’s just overwhelming and the tutorial doesn’t cover it all. What are the benefits of the different hero types? The pets? How can you tell what kind of enemy you are facing to know how to rearrange your party? It’s just all too much.

Boring game with battles run by RNG

It sounded like a good idea: walk, get steps, convert them into energy & level up your team to battle an enemy & other players . Firstly, anything over first 10K steps won’t get much energy (actually only a quarter of them). Secondly PvP is ran by RNG & it’s annoying to see your team standing doing nothing a losing to a much weaker team. ( I usually win 2-3 battles out of 10 because of RNG). If you don’t buy a monthly pass your characters are moving in a kind of slow motion & it take ages to finish a battle. Also, only if you pay for a monthly pass, you can collect resources with one click, otherwise you need eventually visit 10 areas in 3 levels, so 30 clicks. If you’d like to get additional 40%, you need to watch 30 adverts. You can collect resources every 8 hours, so 30 clicks 3 times a day = 90 clicks. Basically if you love RNG led battles & ready to pay monthly to play, it’s okayish game, but I’m really disappointed. Two other games by this developer are much more interesting to play.

Honestly, I need to take my phone to play this game ? No, just no. Most people have a fitness tracker and I personally have an Apple Watch, and I had over 10000 steps but on my phone it only said 300. No, just no.

New bugs in update

Love this game, but its newest update has it crashing every time I try to collect a reward in the Hero tab. I’ve tried restarting my phone and quitting the app, but nothing so far has worked.

It's an alright little game

I think the conversion of steps from the pedometer into in-game energy is a great idea. The battles are reasonably boring. There's no real sense of a gameplay loop here. Characters tend to fight without any real strategy, they just attack any enemy still alive at random, and don't prioritize enemies who are on the verge of death above those who are untouched. Also, the moves performed are underwhelming. I wish there was some control over the battle handed to the player. You just sit and watch the fight with only a "Give Up" button to select if you feel like you're going to lose. The localization in English is also off, but that's less of a concern. You can grok what's being said. Which is overall corny anyways.

Enjoyable but complicated

Enjoyable but complicated. Also overly wordy. There is way too much going on in the UI. It’s not very user friendly or intuitive. Awesome potential and still very fun, but much of it should be consolidated and/or simplified.
