The app has treating me disgustingly and will refuse to scan any bikes if you don’t have an actual debit card or credit card card waste of my time and waste of my battery. Trying to figure it out for almost 2 hours for nothing to work. horrible work for $1 billion company
Blue Bikes
The app is great in terms of locating docks and available bikes. The route planning and navigation whilst riding is not quite so flawless.It would be great if the directions would clearly show family friendly marked bike lanes or off-road cycle paths. It would also be reassuring to know that the root selected by the app was the most cycle friendly. I suspect this is the case but it’s not clear.
It’s mostly good
Please please add something to the app to let us know when the people won’t be at Longwood to remove the bikes from the racks as we drop off, it’s such a waste of time to bike in when they aren’t there and then start the quest to find an open rack for the 100+ of us who usually drop off at Longwood Update, dropping my review score, they added a little emblem to show that someone was at Longwood but then you get a bike and show up and nobody is there anyways half the time so it’s a lie anyways, what a waste the membership is half of the year in the winter!
Known app malfunctions
I have talked to a few people at BlueBikes, who have told me that BlueBikes knows that the app is not working properly, but that they don’t care enough to fix it. For weeks, the app has shown e-bikes present and available for riding, but there is no way to reserve them. This doesn’t seem to be a problem at all of the locations, just the one that is right outside of my work I.e. the one I would use if I could. But by the time I get out of work, all the e-bikes are gone. It seems like a glitch that could be fixed if they cared to, but I have gotten nowhere contacting their customer service which I’m pretty sure is ai generated. If the membership worked the way it is supposed to, I would say it’s worth the annual fee, but since it doesn’t, I feel more like I got ripped off.

There was no option to pay for a day pass. Our three dollar ride became a $16 ride after 60 minutes of riding.
Ebike problems
Nice to have ebike available but it seems like there is no suspension and any small bump in the road feels like the discs in my back are about to herniate. So rider beware! Also great you can reserve ebike but sometimes when I arrive there are only 1-2 miles left, not enough to get to my destination so I end up paying blue bike for nothing. They should advertise mileage left for those reserving OR ensure there are > 5(?) miles left on a bike. Confused why they do not monitor this…
Give me back my dynamic island
Love the service but for goodness’ sake let me skip rating every single ride and relinquish control of my dynamic island. I want to control my music, I don’t really care about rating my ride

Never worked
I tried multiple times to get a bike and it never worked for me. Deleted and downloaded the app multiple times, but it still didnt work
E Bikes now slower??
As of this week there are two tiers of e bike rental. Half pedal assist and full pedal assist (which used to be the only option). The new full pedal assist is for sure slower than it used to be. Huge bummer. Massive bummer. Bring back the old speeds. I ride the e bikes to and from work 3-4 days a week.
Great but frequent connectivity issues
Great service, I use it all the time, however very frequently the code I am given in the app will not unlock any of the bikes on the rack. Also the app says there are no bikes when I'm standing next to one or two on the rack.
The Best Bike Rideshare
Absolutely fantastic ride share! The bikes I had were all in working order and had no issue! I also really enjoyed that the bikes had built in lights for riding at night! Overall fantastic experience! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
bad customer service and actual service
The bike wouldn’t dock, customer service was a whole ordeal and tried to make me pay $1200 for “stealing” it when i was just trying to return it.
Hard to use
It is so hard to use! The code would not even work on the bike, and when we finally unlocked on the seat was to high. When we tried adjusting the position of the seat it was impossible to move. I would never use this app again.
Please add Apple Health integration
It would be awesome to see some metrics from the Bluebikes app synced with the Apple Health app under cycling distance.
Bad Docks
The docking stations are terrible and so is the customer service line.
Best way to get around Boston!
I’ve used this FREE (45 minutes at a time) bike share program while visiting Boston for the last few days. The map app is easy to use, showing you where there are bikes and open docks available. Only suggestion is to change street names to black (not white) and bigger font…to make it easier to read.
Not what is hyped up to be!!!
I’ve seen others have issues with payments or returning a bike and still being charged. I have money in the bank and the app keeps telling me “find another form of payment”. I uploaded three different credit cards that has funds on them. I keep getting the same message. Smfh!!!!! If someone was trying to kidnap me and my only way out was a blue bike, it would be a WRAP for me, instant prey. This is not my first time having difficulties with payments. I even had it on payday so I know the problems not me. Great idea but terrible service. PLEASE GET IT TOGETHER OR GIVE US BACK OUR PARKING SPOTS!!!!!!!!

Unreliable. Horrible experience
No bikes when you need one, no docks when you need one. So you walk a lot to find a bike and you walk a lot after docking it far from your destination. More often than not, walking directly to your destination is the faster option. No improvement in years.
Great way to experience Boston!
Super easy to set up and lots of opt to pick up and drop off. We highly recommend the adventure day.
