Cool but…
I really like this app, it has improved my drawing but my biggest concern is wanting to draw something else, but I have to pay for every single lesson. I get you guys worked hard on this app, but seriously, I just wanted to improve my artwork on here without paying for every single thing. If you don’t want to pay, I suggest you not download this.
Ridiculous
In this app you have to buy almost everything which in this case is just heartbreaking, I asked my dad to allow me to get the app and he let me, I was just trying to work on my artwork, and if you look at the pictures when you look at the app in the App Store it shows a Persian cat, it looks exactly like my cat and when I got the app it tried to make me subscribe and pay & all that dumb stuff. Plus when ur drawing a bird they, make the lines so small and the brush size so big so your bird looks like a blob at the end I hate this app, Two Stars ⭐️⭐️

It’s been ages for it to load. Perhaps 30 minutes since it said 10 minutes. Now it says 10 hours. Help, but the reviews say it’s good so I’m exited.

I really like this app, it really helps you and it’s super cool, although I would like to draw more of the anime poses of female and male or the cats and dogs, it gets pretty boring when you are only able to draw a couple things and that you have to wait for the daily drawings, also for the kids out there who’s mom or dad probably won’t get the subscription but other than that it’s still fun when you start!😃

It’s a good app overall the tutorials are easy to follow and I had fun doing it and there’s no ads either but I was disappointed that it is 50 dollars a year and you only get 1 free drawing a day but other then that I recommend it
Amazing app, but needs a custom photo import feature!
I absolutely love the blue-line tracing system in this app! It is the best drawing guide available. However, I really wish we could import our own photos to turn them into these interactive blue guides. I want to draw Christian and faith-based art, but the library doesn’t offer any. Letting us convert our own photos would bring so many new users to the app. Please add this features!
Buggy garbage
Don’t waste your money on this half finished app. Yes it has lots of content but there are better apps that don’t hate their customers. This app will quit out of a drawing while trying to pan without warning forcing you to start over. Sometimes you have to draw a line several times to get it to advance to the next stroke other times it jumps way ahead forcing you to rewind and pause the system. Never bothered to clean up the stroke recordings so a sizable chunk of strokes are pointless stray marks. It never tells you when to switch from stoke to shading or from sketching to inking. It’s like they just barely got it working and shipped it with 0 polish. If you want to enjoy their daily free drawing go for it. Personally I’m contacting support for my money back after not even getting through one drawing. What a joke.

I really wish it could be all free. I really want to do some of the other lessons but they cost money! But there is a free lesson everyday and it is so fun and good!

Should be called learn how to trace
This is not a drawing tutorial, it is a tracing tutorial. If you want something for therapy or just spending time putting pen to paper this is for you, but there is no instruction in this, it is literally just a tracing app
Absolutely the best drawing app in the store.
There are over 2,000 drawing lessons you can do on your iPad. (Perhaps on your phone, I don’t know about that.) I LOVE THIS APP! When I started, I couldn’t even draw a straight line. There’s a game called Pictionary (sp?) that my husband and I used to play with friends. My poor husband…all he could come up with when I tried to draw anything, was “An ant?” Now I am confident that I can draw a recognisable sketch of pretty much anything. I do a lesson or two every day. I’ve tried every app that has to do with learning how to draw, and in my opinion, there’s nothing that can top this app. Besides enjoying drawing so much—I think it’s a lot like my meditations—the customer service is awesome. I highly recommend it. A lot of people have written not-so-great reviews, because they have to buy a subscription to get more than the daily drawing. I think that’s idiotic. Would they go to work everyday if they didn’t get a paycheque? I think not.
Apple Pencil Pro Does Not Work
Enabled the setting to draw with Apple Pencil, but it seems that the Apple Pencil Pro is unsupported.

This app is amazing if you want to draw at a slow and easy pace, if you are a beginner. The only complaint I have about this app is that you have to buy a subscription for mostly all of the drawings. But overall this app is super fun and easy if you are a beginner that wants your drawings to look professional
Just tracing, no teaching
With any drawing program suc as Procreate I can trace anything. The ghost layout lines aren’t explained at all, which is where the learning should occur. All this is seems to be is a tracing program that doesn’t seem to give any lasting benefit. Am I missing something?

Regularly ignores inputs
great starter app and was surprised tracing paid off when i took it to just being creative. only real complaint is it regularly (dozens times on a big sketch) ignores inputs but other apps are drawing what the apple pencil is doing. seems the issue is with the line you're supposed to be following itself, other parts of the screen are responsive but the animation negates inputs then the negate space volume is still sctive when i should be drawing
Good app for learning and experienced artists
I have loved this app for learning to draw and improve my artistic skills. One feature that I would love ti see back that was removed in a recent update, is the progress circle at the top of the screen during lessons,showing your progress during the lesson. Please bring back this feature or make it optional through the setting in the app. Keep up the good work!
This is not for learning to draw :(
It really sucks bc it feels like you should be using this to learn to sketch but the order of operations is weird. Automatically switches between “pencils” doesn’t tell you which ones they are so if you want to touch up your sketch, you really can’t. You also can’t easily erase your first lines. It’d be better to watch a YouTube video and use any other app. (The order of operations makes me question if ai has a part in this but I didn’t see anything stating as such when quickly glancing over)

Why did it wipe all my progress!? First of all, how come when I left my first drawing it saved but for the daily one, it doesn’t!? Btw the app is good anyway

I can’t find anything that is free. Simply Draw is great you can draw on paper or your tablet for some money. Pic trace is a AR sketching app that you can use for free

This was the first drawing app I got. It makes you feel like a pro and gets you used to drawing and shading. Unfortunately most drawings are under a subscription but overall a really good app.

Unfair!
I got this app today for fun and I really just wanna delete it but I also wanna learn. So you see if you wanna draw something for example a cake you can but you have to pay for a trial and it’s unfair cause when you use the free drawings you get a new free drawing every day,you get a bunch of cats that are unavailable!? And there’s not even that much free art to learn! I don’t like this app so I’m thinking to delete it! Devs please respond!

I love this app it’s perfect for anyone that is looking for an app for you apple pence or to even start drawing, I wish it had many more features for people that don’t want to pay, I know it’s hard to find an app that is actually free and fun to use, I’m an teen and it’s the best thing ever, either way it just has couple of drawings, if you are actually able to pay for it trust me I would, it gives you many lessons that are fun, it’s a pretty fun app!
Messy
Tracing is already a questionable way to learn, but the app had me redo the same strokes like 3-4 times at different stages. This led to me frequently getting stuck because I couldn’t even see the guides beneath the strokes I’d already made. The guides themselves are also sloppy and asymmetrical, and it doesn’t give any real instruction on why you’re doing things a certain way.

This app was okay. I was looking for an Apple that would teach me how to draw and I think I kinda found it. But, I got rid of the app because I didn’t want an app on here if I didn’t love it
Bad and good
First, I thought this was going to be like kind of fun to do with. And then I thought it was like going to show me a video, so I could draw on paper because I like to draw on papers so I could keep as a memory you know, and then when I download it, it did nothing of that. It did the opposite. It told me to write on device and I want to look right on paper, so like no, so that just lets it to me grabbing paper and putting it on top of my device, so I could copy and now likeI don’t know. It’s like me. It’s me.
Needed features (update 5/27/25)
Hi, we need the ability to rotate the canvas, along with the zoom feature. Also, we need the ability to move the reference image. It is always on the right side of the lesson and is blocked from view by a right handed persons hand as they try to draw the lesson. Thanks. This app needs the ability to rotate the canvas, then it will be worth purchasing. When you draw with iPad on your lap, it is to hard to rotate the whole iPad. Much easier to just rotate the canvas with your fingers like most other sketching apps. Update: Will purchase and recommend when the ability to rotate canvas is added as a feature.
Amazing for beginners and pros
As a person that is not that good at drawing ,this app helped me a lot,although I kept messing up it came out amazing I thought that it did it for me . So I really recommend this app for people who love to draw

Epic app for beginners
Im a pre teen, and this app got me drawing foxes, wolves, dogs, and cats in an advanced graphic novel style in DAYS. I’ve never really had a natural art talent, but know my art looks like a 30 year old drew them within days. DAYS! This app is great for tracing and muscle memory. It’s literally the best drawing app I’ve found on the App Store, I tried simply draw, but this MUCH better. I would totally suggest to anyone.
