Loss of functions
App now tells you to update to latest version of the app for functionality but there is no new version available. Used to use this every day now I almost never use and will probably delete soon.

Goggle Assistant Review
So, after testing Google AI with a couple of other AI models, i did notice some things. Google Assistant is pretty good with sort queries or short commands. However, sometimes when you ask more complex questions, it often times struggles and spits out the response sorry i don’t understand. Now Copilot and some other ai providers seem to handle complex queries pretty well. When i tried to ask google how to turn on my google nest hub gen 2 nightlight, it was like i don’t understand. When i asked my trusty ai friend copilot, it had no trouble at all guiding me through my google Nest Hub set up. Google assistant ai seems like its for small tasks. Just my honest opinion.

Nuisance
Opens a non-dismissible pop up asking for permissions for the mic. The problem is it forces you to choose yes or no and blocks everything else until you choose. I chose no and promptly uninstalled it.
Please fix ‘Play the news’ command – it used to work perfectly.
I used to love the Google Assistant. Every morning and night, I would simply say “Hey Google, play the news” and it would reliably play the latest audio headlines from my favorite sources like BBC, Sky News, Deutsche Welle, Bloomberg, and others. Lately, however, when I say “Google, play the news” (the very first command I give my phone each day), it just replies: “Sorry, I don’t understand.” This was one of my most-used and favorite features, and it’s now completely broken. It makes starting and ending my day much less convenient. Please bring back the working “Play the news” functionality — it’s a simple but incredibly useful feature for many users. Fix this soon! Make it 5 stars✌️🌟

Generally helpful-ish
There are many times where Assistant is unable to do things I want it to do (set reminders for further out than 24 hours, set multiple timers or alarms) and then it feels like most AI apps are created to do things no one needs or wants. Also, I don't know what happened to the Assistant voice I used to have but I dislike immensely all of the options now available.
Better than siri
Siri has never been able to find a specific thing I want and google assistant can just find it instantly
Very limited in scope
I tried to do a very simple thing. Upload an image of a schedule and have Assistant create the calendar events. This doesn't work since there's no camera or upload button. First it claimed to be able to do what I wanted, but couldn't answer when asked about how to upload a photo. It kept asking about when the event was. If I wanted to manually type in the event, I would have done so myself. Complete waste of time.

Used to work…Google wants to force us into AI use
I used this all the time up until the last year or so. I specifically want to continue using it to avoid the pitfalls and negative environmental and intellectual consequences of AI. Apparently Google isn’t giving apple users that option, so goodbye Google Assistant. I do not use and won’t be downloading Gemini.
Can't use it-Yet
Idk what it is supposed to be but it does not understand any question I ask- however it auto opens settings links when you ask HOW to do something (kind of like an Assistant!) so I'll learn to use it. Seems ok so far, *if that is what it is indeed for, it will be really useful! *🍀🤞

Doesn’t work with Sonos speaker. Answers something weird every time. Says it is playing music while it isn’t. When pointed, says I don’t understand or I am AI or I get things wrong. Totally unhelpful in the age of true AI.

There is a bug where tapping on get started just doesn’t do anything
gonna get me in trouble in my building as it’s messing with my TV volume, but I never asked it!
I tell her to put the lights 100% and then it puts the TV to 100%!!!!! if I tell google hub to put the TV volume at 10, my Google hub speaker puts it to 100! if I go deaf, I’m gonna sue you! This has happened many times. You never used to happen 6 years ago!

Siri is better Very glitchy, but it works for the weather only for me so I don’t usually check the weather a lot
Suddenly doesn’t wanna play any playlists
This app used to be pretty good. I could play any playlist from my Apple Music account. It no longer plays anything or it plays something completely random that’s not on my playlist. It’s become completely useless.

I always thought google apps are mess, they need tidying up and animations that’s were apple shines. This app Is ok although Siri is getting a lot better but would be better if you add google lens
Recent update issue
The recent update broke voice commands for assistant on my iPhone. I had a shortcut set up to trigger ask google, and after the update, it just asks me what app I want to use every time, getting rid of the point of voice commands, or if I delete all other google apps it doesn’t listen more than one time. I know I can use Siri for most stuff but need ok google integration for my smart bulbs, which I can get up to turn on/off regularly due to disability.
Works most of the time, needs a serious update to the future
It works 70% of the time but I feel think the Google assistant technology could use some updating. It was really advanced 7 or 8 years ago but it hasn’t really changed since then. With the improvements to Siri and now all the AI technology coming out, I’m disappointed Google Assistant hasn’t changed much. For example: -it doesn’t integrate with Apple texts, phone calls, Facebook messenger, or WhatsApp. -It can’t integrate with Apple reminders/lists or outlook tasks. -There’s no Apple Watch app to add Google Assistant. -It won’t tell you about your day unless you use Gmail for your calendar. -When I tell it to play the news sometimes the speaker keeps listening then hears itself/ the news anchor and then tries to respond again 🤦♀️. -I can’t bring up TV shows with a verbal prompt once you have multiple profiles set up in a streaming service. Like why can’t I match my Netflix profile to my voice and my husband match his profile to his voice? Or why can’t we say who’s profile we want google to use? -Recently the alarms will ring once and then the display will continue to show the alarm but there’s no more ring tone/music playing. -Sometimes I get a prompt on my phone from the assistant app asking if the right device responded. When I click the notification it never takes me anywhere to actually answer that question. -Almost weekly my partner and I tell the Google to set an alarm just to find out later the alarm was never set.
No fighting in business
Alexa and Google assistant is great and is just as good as Siri so please don’t make them fight. Instead make them work together for longer business together all three so far

Google assistant definitely has more intelligence than Siri but it doesn’t integrate with my phone like Siri. Also, I would like voice activation (Maybe this is something that only Siri can do on iPhones?).

Smart but clunky
Connects to almost all smart devices - and allows quite flexible management of them all. So for me, better than competitors(outside if full bespoke smart home installs). However - it seems to think everything can or should be done with voice commands, and that managing your devices is a back-office admin thing that doesn't have to be well designed. The problem is that any auto configure capability isn't smart enough to make that work. So the device and scene admin is really important - and quite non-intuitive to navigate / use.

I Love the app so freaking much. It has entertainment features Gemini does not have. If you could at least take these feature to Gemini (eg fart, burp, etc) that would be nice

Si tu poses une question tel que: que veut dire insulaire, il n’est pas capable de chercher dans son “petit” dictionnaire. Tu poses de dix fois différentes la question, il répond “isoler veut dire”. Incroyablement limité. Pour un produit google, euh, ça laisse à désirer. C’est quelque chose de très répétitif, il ne peut pas sortir de son rond-point. Dommage!
