What people like
- Easy to buy tickets when it works
- Cinemas have lovely staff and great screenings
- Good option for family day outs
What they complain about
- Apple Wallet ticket feature is broken
- Hard to find what’s playing on specific dates
- App feels slow and clunky to use
- Search results are confusing and often wrong
Does exactly the job
Does exactly the job I need it to. Easy to check what’s playing, get tickets, add tickets to wallet. (And love going to the Picturehouse too. Great screenings, always lovely staff.)
Dodgy app
Doesn't work well at all
Just one problem
Picturehouse Brighton
So much worse
This version of the app is so much worse than the last. Give us better access to our membership card, favourite cinema, films locally. There’s too much general advertising of films and not enough about us seeing what’s on locally and accessing our card. Poor design by someone who didn’t think about what the app is for- people going to their local Picturehouse.
App
App can be unreliable - quite often not working very efficiently. Could also have a better UI.
Sweet
Nice and easy to use🤩
Rubbish
Always have to use a search engine for films. According to app there are no films at my local picturehouse and it won’t let me use my free tickets. I have to go into the cinema and change it
Picturehouse
Overall a good app. The only bug is that the ticket to Apple Wallet doesn’t work. Not the end of the world of course, but that’s all I could think of!
Needs improvement
I didn’t like the old app, but now I would have it back like a shot. The new app is infuriating. It is so difficult to see the choice of screenings without going back and forth, and that same palaver covers practically everyday activity you do. Since the new app arrived my attendance at the Picturehouse has dropped off a cliff. If you know exactly what you want it works, but if you want to browse and did something, forget it.
Difficult to use
I find the app frustrating when I’m looking for films at my 2 local PH cinema’s. I see interesting films from the home page or the pictures at the bottom of the screen but then I find out they aren’t showing in Brighton. I only want the option to see stuff I can see locally
Lush cinema experience
We have been coming to both of the Brighton cinemas since my daughter was a baby, she’s now 14. Firm family favourite day out. ❤️
Awful
Unreliable and also hard to use.
Useful app but a bit annoying
I love this app, i always used when i go to my local Picturehouse!, I love Picturehouse but I can’t add my bookings to my Apple Wallet with an error.
Still lacking basic functionality
Basic functions I still require: 1) membership card I can save to my iPhone wallet 2) tickets that save to my phone wallet - there’s a bug which means this has stopped working 3) search functions per film including dog-friendly; these special showings should indicate which cinemas they are at
Needs improvement
Not consumer-friendly at all. Would be easier if you could filter the films by date when booking. And the films that are advertised as currently showing (on the carousel) are not always up-to-date. I usually use the IMDB app to check out what’s showing on which day then book it on the Picturehouse app.
Disappointing, Please fix it
Not a very helpful app when it comes to buying tickets or even logging in to see my tickets. It used to be very good and easy to navigate but now just an odd layout. To top it off it lost my membership history so I had to create a new one and of course lose the benefits I accumulated
Mostly good
It’s mostly great, just confusing That you can’t search for a film directly
The app
Very poor to navigate , I’ve said this before , been a member for years, the app is not user friendly, bring the old one back
Mixed
Ongoing issue with processing credit cards Site not easy to navigate if you just want to view by day
Super laggy
Unfortunately the app is super laggy and slow it’s like using a browser with dodgy WiFi
Decent app
Pretty straightforward to navigate and book seats on the phone. Does the job. Grateful to Picturehouse for their commitment to the cinema experience. So much better than watching streaming platforms on the telly. Deserves our support!
So clunky
Feels like it was developed in 2005 - when searching for a film the list of movies seems limited by number and therefore only spans from about A-L and doesn’t load any further so you have to use the frankly fairly useless filters to find anything below that. Slow, ugly, only semi functional.
Pressure
App is clunky and won’t currently, or last week, load the tickets to my Apple wallet
Hit & Miss
Some times it works, sometimes it doesn’t, can’t rely on it.
Clunky
The app keeps dropping my password and it's clunky - it lises my 'favourite' cinemas when I search for films. Amso no option to add my membership card to my phone wallet.
Ok
App mostly ok except not easy to display ‘I want to see a film on x date, show me everything showing in cinemas a b and c ‘
Can’t add tickets to Apple Wallet
There’s an error message in the app when trying to add to Apple Wallet. The app itself is unintuitive and difficult to find cinema film schedule.
Cannot buy tickets for other members
Very poor App. PH claim yo be improving for over a year. Its very frustrating
Better filtering
For members and I guess non-members also, it is hard to understand which films are running on a particular day. The app should have a feature to see the full schedule for a theatre for a particular day. It is such a basic feature that I’m surprised it is not implemented
Terrible!!!
How do companies frequently manage to ‘update’ an app and yet make it a poorer retrograde experience for the user/their customers? Did Picturehouse actually do any research? Did they test it? Who designs such a poor app needs to be fired. Where on earth is the functionality? If I want to see what films are showing on a certain date can I now click on the date and see which films and when they are showing? No, of course I cannot!! This is basic!! Come on Picturehouse you are better than this. Get it fixed!!!!
Confusing
Confusing app… not great. But no other option, so…
Film titles
The film titles cut off long before the end of the alphabet. The user can only scroll to certain letters. Please fix this.
Does work well for me
I really struggle to use the app and often resort to using the web. I have to constantly refresh my preferred cinema if I use the back button. Also, finding out what’s on when isn’t easy. Finally (and this is a problem with web booking), my tickets will no longer add to my Apple wallet.
When it works it’s adequate
First time I could register members free tickets. Box was grey. After making the booking the link would not work. But I’ve been a Picturehouse member for a very long time. I’m talking projectors and film. And the Picturehouse website has always only just worked. On a good day.
Add pass to Apple wallet
Add pass to Apple wallet has been broken for weeks and I have reported it and it's still not fixed! Do better.
Poor functionality / navigation
Seems to be impossible on the app to search for available movies for a specific day. List of ‘Now Showing’ includes a huge number that aren’t actually screening which seems crazy. You should be able to select a date on the app for your visit and then see quickly and clearly what is on - seems obvious to me 🤷♂️ Plus Apple Wallet never seems to work these days either which is annoying!
Bad
The app is clunky, hard to navigate and difficult to find your account, your QR code, it shuts you out every few weeks and insists you have to post all your membership details which you may not have with you. It’s very difficult to see what’s on and what date. Overall this app has been for sometime now really poorly designed and all the staff at Picturehouse and any friends who have the app also say the same thing.
Difficult app
I find the app very difficult to navigate. It’s much easier to find films on or coming up at my cinema by using the website. For example, the order of titles in the listing seems rather idiosyncratic. I’m sure the app used to be easier
