Great trips to cinema and cinema in the home
Go MUBI!
Only Available at Expensive Cinema now
Mubi Go no longer works at my cinema of choice - Hyde Park Picturehouse in Leeds. Now the only close option for me is the Everyman - if I want to go to the cinema with someone, their ticket would cost more the cost of 2 tickets at Hyde Park Picturehouse. This had made Mubi Go completely useless for me - I’d only ever use it if I was going to the cinema by myself. Cancelling my subscription now.
Great selection but one major issue
This app is fantastic value! With only paying an extra £7 a month and you receive the streaming subscription alongside a free movie ticket every week. There’s one major issue! I live a hour away from my main cinema, in Bristol. I’ve had a few instances where I’ve travelled all the way to get there, only to scan the ticket and be told it’s sold out. I think a major benefit would be to add an optional online booking system! As I can’t tell if my film is going to be sold out or not by the time I’m there and that means a major waste of my time. However other than that, it’s a great service but there really needs to be more clarity on availability of ticket seats.
Great idea but can’t seem to catch the films I want to see
Would love to be able to switch my ticket up for a baby screening. Not very mum friendly, ( but then again baby screenings aren’t really MUBI friendly) and I understand that’s such a small margin of customers require that service. But the option would be great. I keep missing the films I actually want to see. Would also be great to have the option to see a past film of the week..
In Freiburg

No value for money outside london
If you don’t live in London this is a complete waste of money. It’s been the same film for four weeks now my area. Before that, it was the same film for three weeks. Whereas they are not technically lying when a say ‘a hand-picked cinema ticket every single week’ it’s also not exactly being entirely honest either by failing to make clear it might be the same film for several weeks. There’s a big difference tickets for two films, vs tickets for two. I’m stuck with the annual membership and it’s so not worth it.
GabF
Easy to use app, would be good to keep track of what films I’ve seen though. Like a watch history tab.
Not sure yet, will update
I’m on the trial and the first week it just said the movie (The Mastermind) was no longer available. This week it popped up the day before with Frankenstein only at one grimy theater north of the city (Seattle). I’m reserving judgment and I’m glad that I did get to see Frankenstein with it but I’m hoping more cinema options in more central areas and I’d love even one more day of notice for what the film will be.
So easy
I love the curated suggestions, and that it tells me my nearest theatre and showtimes 🙌
Awful and confusing
Why offering a free trial if you have to pay 18£?? Useless
Please bring back the length of the movie
Why is that info gone?? I check it all the time
Nicht alle Kinos werden angezeigt. Dringend beheben!
Too Simple
You get 5 stars if i can see next week before the current week ends
Best subscription service in the UK
Honestly, my favourite subscription. It’s such a steal for the value it gives. I’ve seen so many incredible movies on cinemas that I would’ve otherwise not even heard of. Plus you get streaming via MUBI. Just get this.
Same horror film two weeks in a row, only good for horror fans
At the moment I would not recommend MubiGo, I was really looking forward to a weekly cinema trip but have been disappointed by the fact my film has been the same horror film two weeks in a row… I am not a fan of horror and this week the film is only showing once a day, so even if I was a fan it would be hard to watch. It is not the Film of the Week and it does not all the cinemas it claims to have links to… it feels like MubiGo is bad value and misleading
To be improved
App a bit buggy. Movie of the week showed wrongly that it wasn’t available near me. Other than that the app seems to do the job. Streaming is okay but could include more options in local language.
Not worth it in Chicago
I love movies and I got this because I thought it would encourage me to go to the movie theater more. Streaming service notwithstanding, this is really really frustrating in Chicago - there are three eligible theaters (information that was kind of difficult to find on the app), two on the near north side and one downtown. My first week, the movie was supposed to be Wildcat, but instead, I was offered “the feeling that the time for doing something has passed” for two weeks, the second of which only had two showings, total, all week. I’ve had it for five weeks now and I’ve only been able to see one film. It’s annoying to not know what’s coming next and it’s doubly annoying when the rest of the country gets a movie I want to see, like Gasoline Rainbow, and I don’t. This week the film is A Woman Under the Influence, which I adore! But I can’t see it, at all. Like, zero showings in Chicago, no alternative programming. Even though last week the programming was Hit Man (for everyone in NYC and LA) which is absolutely still showing in Chicago. I don’t know if this is more developed for NYC and LA, I know they have more theaters and more of a scene, but if you live in Chicago, it’s much cheaper to just see the two movies a month that appeal to you at the Music Box or Siskel Film Center. 2 stars.
What’s the next movie??
I love Mubi and Mubi Go, but every few weeks I get frustrated with not knowing what the next movie is going to be! Why is Mubi against letting us actually plan for a fabulous night out at the cinema? Come on, give us a list even if it’s just fortnightly. Thanks from literally everyone in the UK!
Old films
I want to cancel - thought I would get mainstream movies. How do I cancel please
Love this app!
I love using this app in NYC but sometimes wish they put the next showing film a bit earlier.
Needs improvement
In theory, I love this service. It gets me out to watch films and takes away the effort of discovering a film on my own. Bundled with the excellent streaming service, this feels like a great deal. I end up watching lots of great movies out in the theaters that I might not otherwise! However, in practice I don’t get to use my tickets often. 1. If there are no showtimes for the film of the week, a previous film is repeated. This will be the same film for sometimes over a month (even if other previous films of the week are also still showing) It would be great to have the option to see any of the previous films of the week that are still in theaters. But instead, you are given no choice and the selection does not seem to follow a consistent logic. 2. There are multiple participating theaters in my area, with overlap in the films they offer. I never get a choice of theater. Sometimes this leaves me with only one or two showtime options in a week, meaning I likely have to miss a film. I’d love to see showtimes at other theaters, even ones that are a little more out of the way. 3. The movie of the week is usually, but not always, selected on opening week for the movie. Sometimes I will have assumed Mubi would not select a film, because it’s been out for two weeks, and buy my own ticket- only for it to be the movie of the week later on. All and all, this has been a frustrating service to use that hasn’t gotten me into as many movies as I would have hoped. I recommend looking into a membership with your local theater first, especially if you wont be using the streaming service often. However, the service has promise; the curation is excellent and the idea is great. But without improvements, I can’t really recommend Mubi Go unless you already know your local theaters have a robust connection with the service. (I’m using the service in San Francisco/Oakland)
Tolles Angebot, nervige App
Faultless
Both in respect of the content of Mubi’s digital library and the functionality of the Mubi Go app. A free movie a week for this price is an absolute no-brainer for movie lovers!
Great idea let down by a glitchy app
I want to like MUBI GO but the app is glitchy to the point of being unusable. I’ll often have my qr up on my screen as I leave for the cinema, only to have that showing disappear by the time I’ve arrived (always in good time etc) - this means I then have to either return home or pay full price for a ticket. To add insult to injury, after paying for a ticket the cinema is only a quarter full eg. The showing wasn’t delisted for any reason. In short, this is unusable, and I’ve only manage to use my ticket on one out of five cinema visits. I’d strongly urge caveat emptor on this one.
Phantastisches Konzept
Nur eine Bitte: Markiert, ob eine Vorführung OV, DF oder OmU ist. Das sollte nicht schwer sein. Dann gebe ich auch fünf Sterne!
Very few cinema options
And not enough night times
Fab!
Love this app
Not what it says on the tin
Lies, didn’t get a cinema ticket and couldn’t watch Priscilla at home even after paying
Love MUBI and MUBI GO
But since MUBI GO costs more than just plain MUBI, you can’t describe the ticket as free.
Good idea, bad execution
It should NOT be location based. This feature sucks… let us choose the ticket we want (for theater and time that are offered)!!!
Napoleon
Disappointing
Nothing beats the cinema
I wanted a reason to get to the cinema more often and knowing I have a free ticket at my local independent is working. TV is fine but sometimes those series just go on and on. There’s something really magical about a story told in around two hours. An event that can have a real effect on your life, a world visited, characters who feel like real people who’ll always be with you - in one sitting. It’s a truly beautiful art form and a trip to the cinema on your own is a special kind of indulgence. Feels like good therapy for me. And I occasionally invite a friend too. Mubi’s selection of films to watch at home has brought me films I never would have seen otherwise and the rolling selection is a great antidote to the procrastination of so much “choice” on Netflix and the like.
Disappointed
I recently was slightly delayed getting to the cinema and arrived just as the film was starting - the QR code was no longer available. I paid to see the film and will now cancel my subscription.
Yury
More slots for watching please
Same film every week.
Seems like a great idea and probably is if you live in the right place. Perhaps best to only get this if you live in Manchester/ London or know someone who is happy with the service in your local area. I live in Leicester and was super excited to start the service but the first weeks film was not available in my city. Okay never mind because the next weeks film was. Great! Well… it was great. But it has been the same ever since… not exactly what I was sold.
Warum Standortdaten teilen?
Cooles Konzept!
Suggestion for improvement
Can you tell us in advance what the next few weeks films will be.
I was really enjoying Mubi GO until June
Since June began at my local cinema the only film I can watch is Across the Spider-verse. I happily watched this on the first day, but expected a new film to appear next week. I was disappointed to see that ever since Spider-verse came into cinemas it has been the only option every week on the Mubi GO app for my four closest cinemas with the actual film of the week (which seem far more what I expected from Mubi) being almost 50 miles away. Unsure if this is Mubi or simply that my local cinemas, (which apparently don’t get many Mubi GO users come in) do not want to show the film of the week.
Works great, but should be able to select more than one eligible film per theater
The Gene Siskel Film Center was showing two MUBI GO films on the same day, ‘EO’ and ‘A Couple’. I went wanting to see ‘A Couple’ but ‘EO’ was the only selection available on the app, assumingely because it was this week’s film. It would be nice to have a choice of which films to select for that week that are eligible instead of just one.
Good in theory
Only about one in four of the films picked are on at my local cinema so I’m basically paying £15 a month to watch one film at the cinema. I’ve persisted with it for quite a few months but just isn’t worthwhile. It would be good if an alternative was offered if the selected film isn’t screening. Maybe worth having if you live in London but otherwise it’s better just to buy a ticket.
Dresden hinzufügen
Bitte mal Kinostadt Dresden hinzufügen. Hier ist eine enorme Programmkinodichte, sollte also gut ankommen
Sal Lifely (Director, Foxy Motion Films)
Best thing I’ve ever joined! If you love watching acclaimed films from any genre, country or era, and I do, and want to support this magical industry both in the cinema (the best way of course) and also by streaming great films in the comfort of home, then MUBI GO is an absolute no brainier, and far superior to something else ending in ‘flix’, love it & superbl value too!
MUBI
No good if the code disappears 5 minutes after the start time.
Film lover heaven
A film a week in some lovely cinemas around London. Loads to stream.. very easy to use, very happy 🍿
Disappointed
It is disappointing that a lot of the films are not available to view in Glasgow.
Amazing App & Service
Thank you MUBI!
