Hands down most accurate weather app
I work outside banquets frequently and this is app is a lifesaver. Out of the 5 weather apps I use I only trust this one, the best $6 I’ve ever spent. So many settings you can customize for notifications. The only downside is it does use quite a bit of phone battery life if you allow the app to always use your location, which makes complete sense. But again, you can easily change that. I love how fast the lightning strikes are updated (within seconds of happening), and the strike distances are extremely accurate from your location. Love that you are notified by choosing a radius of strike distances from you.

Location arrow in upper right hand corner does not work except when it occasionally does work it takes you a hundred miles or more from where you really are…
Question
What lightning detection network or data provider supplies the lightning-strike data displayed in My Lightning Tracker Pro in the United States? Specifically, does the app use NLDN/Vaisala, Earth Networks, Blitzortung, another detection network, or a proprietary/aggregated source? We are evaluating the app for organizational occupational-safety use and need to understand the data source, typical latency, detection type, and location accuracy.
Not working like it used to to
The radar is iffy and I swear it use to be several hundred urs worth. I pay for the app and I dont think ill do it again. I did twice. Ill try something else
Very useful app
I like this app - it actually tells me where the rain/lightning/heavy downpours are - no weather app accurately does this. Unfortunately, there are times when the maps don’t “fill” or just parts of it fill which is very frustrating.

I absolutely love this app. I think I was one of the very first ones that downloaded it. Apps that are close to this caliber are being sold for 5.99 and up in the App Store. Fantastic app and an incredible developer!👍🏼
Political bias
I was disturbed to see the Gulf of Mexico referred to as the Gulf of America. I’m done with this marginal app!
Great App but can use improving
I like the basic app but wish you could set the area range without using your fingers. On an iPhone it’s cumbersome.
I used to love this app
I used to love this app and relied upon it for several years. Somehow, my radar stopped working. The lightning tracker was excellent and worked in many places in the world.. most recently the regular lightning tracker radar stopped working, so I upgraded to lightning tracker pro. My radar is still not working and I contacted customer service but no resolution. Hoping that they’ll solve the fix.
Needs a performance update
Would like to see an option to remove future radar prediction or make that seperate from the radar when you press play on the map Slow loading lately. Especially if you want to load the radar. Not very efficient on low data plans like hotel wifi at 3-7 mbps. Could use some improvement there.

From the reviews, I thought this app was going to be amazing. If you like lightningmaps dot org, this app is nothing like it. The map is not live and you have no clue where the current strikes are occurring if the map is full of red dots. There’s no yellow dot circled in red, the colors don’t change as time goes by and no sound circle. I get lightning alerts through my local tv station app. Money wasted!
Temporary Mute please!!
Great app, not overly fussy but enough options to work well for my purposes of clearing sports fields during weather events. I do really wish you could mute the alerts temporarily like other apps (ex 1hr, till tomorrow, etc) without turning a off this app’s notifications or changing the radius to 0 as the app suggests. I then have to set a reminder to restore my original settings, doable but annoying. I need this for work so I need it reliably, but I also want to just mute it when I’m at home…inside…not thinking about work.

This WAS a great app. The latest update was deplorable!!! Radius for notifications completely changed without input. Went from 10 miles away to 49 miles, and every 5 minutes! Why? Now to reset, my only option is a slider on a map? How about a numeric input OR the slider with map view? How about honoring the config settings of the paid users at update time? Absolutely cannot stand devs that rewrite primary preferences when making updates. Keep my settings and ask if I’d like to update them. And at least make it functional. The slider and map is cute, but numeric entry is simple, effective and should not have been eliminated to add this method of entry. Not impressed. Great tool, but devs need to be mindful of the user’s preferences. Poor programming choice, and even poorer execution by nominally releasing such a drastic change to user function causing a day filled with spam-like notifications…. Not cool.
Outstanding in All Respects. None better!
This is the one to have and keep. I signed up for the “full time” membership and should have a lot earlier. The accuracy , timing and notifications are beyond anything I’ve ever used. Simple operation , always accurate with exceptionally good results. Don’t leave home without it! And I could mail a cup of coffee, but would be concerned with delivery. Perhaps a wet box?

This app is awesome , simple to use , radar clarity is the best there is . Don’t mess with the app the way other radar based weather apps have gone . Do not try and re-invent this people love it . I think my point is clear.

Free version vs paid version
For some reason the paid version is not showing me lightning strikes while the free version is. So why did I pay for this?
Ok app, but lacking in speed and display
Every 5 minutes updates is too slow, and the 15/30 minute color change is too coarse a resolution to make it possible to track the movement of a storm. Make it a gradual scale with a longer tracking time of maybe an hour or two. A replay option of the past hours movement would be nice too. There is no option to dim the map, making the strikes hard to see against the background.

Outdoors surveillance
This app is a great companion for those who enjoy outdoor activities (biking, swimming, running, paddle board, boating, hiking, or landscaping / yard work). It has warned me on multiple times, specially right before those unplanned spare-of-the moment biking or running outings. The app has alerted me even before the National Emergency broadcast service alerts. If you live in an area where lightening strikes are a concern then this app should be part of your everyday routine. I went with the Pro version just after one day of use , once I realized its great value. I have mine set at 20 miles radius and notification every 15 min when strikes happen within that range, but you can customize it to your preference. You can set the notifications to a sleep mode during those hours of the day that you are likely be indoors anyways.
Glitchy
Rain radar no longer loads properly and is unreliable and notification’s no longer get pushed to my Apple Watch.

Accurate, easy to use without being cluttered. Rain overlay with lightning strike tracking is essential for photographic planning. Would have given it 5 stars if it was fast to show the rain overlay but it is too slow. Can take more than 60sec for the rain overlay to load
As accurate as Mississippi’s
Count Mississippi’s after seeing lightning for the same high level of accuracy. Handy for big picture planning of scheduling an outdoor work day, but this is as accurate as Minesweeper. I’m assuming the data comes from your Government weather service provider, so if they’ve not got the funding for proper equipment, they can’t provide more accurate data. Write to your representative and demand adequate funding for the Agency in charge of Weather. The right data can prevent tragedies with enough data for accurate modelling

I find it extremely helpful. It allows me to see what’s coming, where’s it coming from and allows me to plan for my photos. Well worth the cost of a coffee.

I have had near strikes and they do not show up on the app. Missing lots of lightning strikes Around the NSW 2325 area. Please improve on your accuracy of strikes.

It used to work well, but I have had 6 to 8 lightening strikes within the last five mins and none are showing up on the hotspot. The nearest is 55 km away.

As an ole Man I have been using this app for some time now. It’s hard to believe that I never got around to giving a review of it. Finally to me this was a Lightning ⚡️ app that gave you myself and of course our Family the safety that was needed in Storms we all have faced where Lightning has become a threat and Dangerous situation. This APP is a must have. If you are looking for an app to let you know lighting is near or at a given distance away this is the app for you. I use it and so far I have not found any flaws in the app.
