I wish the volume was fixed for this game. Using a regular timer takes the excitement/humor out of the game.
Great but missing one part.
Amazing app for the game. The different narrations are fun and add a cool little aspect to the game. If there is one thing I would change I’d want there to be different narrations for each stage of the game for each voice. It would be super cool if the narrator knew which boss you were on and gave a specific read based on that. Other than that the app fulfills its purpose well enough.
No Audio?
I desperately wish that the audio actually worked for this app. We love to play the game and the app works just fine without the audio, but it was so disappointing to see that there SHOULD be different narrators and not actually be able to use it.
Audio stopped working
App worked and the ln the audio stopped. I removed the app and redownloaded it and it still doesn’t work.
Works if phone/tablet are not in silent mode
Make sure the mechanical switch on the side of your device is in the “on” position and then crank up the volume!
No sound
Downloaded this to play along with my son. Audio and music turned on is settings, but no sound or music play. My husband and I both downloaded to see if it was our phone settings/user error. Nope. Doesn't work for either of us.
Sound doesn’t work??
Everything else looks great but there’s no sound?? I have tested all the sound settings on my phone so I’m pretty sure it’s not just my phone. Would appreciate some help if anyone has any advice.

Adds tons of atmosphere to the game, and great selection of voices to choose from. But you must turn off the mute switch on your phone or you’ll get no sound in the app!

For those complaining about no audio, the game is following the mute switch. With mute on there is no voice or music, mute off and it’s got all the audio

Great App! Just remember to flick the silent switch on your iPhone and your good to go, turning up the volume won’t override the mute switch.

Turn silent off for sound
I have my phone permanently on silent as I use my Apple Watch for notifications. Can you PLEASE update this to allow sounds in silent mode. Every other app allows this

The high paced action of the board game is fun. The app doesn’t do much to change it though a normal timer would work just as good. The voice acting is decent.
Cool timer but no sound
All has multiple narrator voices and I was excited to use it but no matter what I do there is no sound. Timer part works great but it would be much better if there was sound.
Sound stopped
Sound stopped working after first game. Tried reinstalling and changing orientation and voice style. Nadda. My son started using default phone timer since it will play sound. Hope this gets fixed, it was a good touch to the game. Looks like it’s a common app problem.

Not working after update:
I have an iPhone, and I’ve used this app for the last few years without any issue until this week. We pulled out the game again to play, and there was no music or narration too along with the timer. The timer itself was also acting sporadic, and could not be trusted. I tried to report a problem instead of leaving a review, but the app developer seems to not allow for reporting. Please fix these bugs! Thanks!
Needs a little more
It functions fine but needs a little more. Like being able to save times for the separate bosses so you can keep a record of your personal best and try to beat them. And maybe a tracker for win loss ratio against a certain boss. As you might want to improve on your win loss ratio to a boss. I think these things would improve the games replay ability.

Love the game but the timer is glitchy with sound..have uninstalled and reinstalled but keeps happening.
App is a fantastic and fun addition to the game
Don’t worry about the low reviews- look at them, every one is from doofuses that don’t know how to operate their iPhones and use the ringer switch to toggle sound- no problems with the app- that’s all user error😂😂😂 The app amps up the experience, excitement, and tension as you race to clear the dungeons in under 5 minutes, get it, lotta fun:)

Great support app for a great game!
This is a wonderful, simple, but fun timer app for use with the board game 5 minute dungeon. It fulfills its function wonderfully, and adds a nice extra layer to the game overall! Much better than a normal, boring timer. My biggest feedback (and the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars), is that i wish the music was more adaptive. What I mean is that it would be really cool if the music started as is, but got more intense as the time got lower, so as to really ratchet up the tension and danger. It would also be nice if there was some kind of sound or holding music while the timer was paused (or while on the title screen/between runs), perhaps something more simple and tranquil to contrast with the intensity of the dungeon music. think the “back to town” music in classic video games, or even more minimalist (just not absolute silence). It would also be nice if the music was different for each narrator... All that said however, the app fulfills it’s purpose very nicely already!
Sounds stops working
I have redownloaded this multiple times bc the sound will stop working if I don’t use the app for a while.
It’s quirky….
So the app worked normally when initially installed. The voice were a wonderful touch to bring a new element to the game. However after the fist day, 6 games the sound stopped working. It doesn’t have any sound now but still works at a timer. I find myself using my default timer on my phone so I can get audio when time ends. Hope this gets fixed it’s a nice addition.
everything is awesome
love this board game, we have played like 20 times over the past few weeks. simple to learn, quick, love it. I hope they come out with more additions. we have both versions. Also, please add more voice actors.
No sound
Downloaded both the 5 Minute Mystery and 5 Minute Dungeon apps but neither have no sound 😑
No Sound
The game itself is fun, but the timer app has no sound on my iPhone 6. I downloaded the version from the Windows Store on a laptop instead as the sounds are really good when they can be heard. UPDATE: The response from the developer was correct: it switches off the sound when the mute switch is toggled. This is not documented and unexpected, so I would not have thought of it. Regardless, this makes it a lot more fun!
No sound after iOS18 update
Love the app, but there is no audio after updating to iOS 18. Please fix!!
Nur gut per Bluetooth
Funktioniert auf meinem iPhone 8, allerdings ohne Ton. Damit ist sie relativ unnütz. Wenn das Phone per Bluetooth mit einem Lautsprecher verbunden ist, kommt auch Ton und die App tut was sie soll: Zählt die 5 Minuten runter und unterhält zusätzlich mit verschiedenen Stimmen und passender Hintergrundmusik.
App adds fun, excitement to game
The game with a kitchen timer is fun... but this app brings the game to another level with its exciting music and encouraging words. Definitely a fun addition to an already fun game!
Didn’t work
Bored game is Awsome. App is glitchy and doesn’t work 50% of the time. Even on different devices.
Good but glitches and repetitive
Good but glitches. No sound on my iPhone 6 Plus but works with sound on my iPad. (iOS up to date on both). You can choose from a selection of different narrators, but they repeat the same thing/message each time. They need to improve by having multiple random comments/sayings for each narrator. For example, a narrator needs to have multiple messages for you when you win each time instead of only one witty messsge you hear over and over and over again. Update Jul 2018. Thanks for the response. The issue was phone related not app. Works now. There are more than one witty comment, however because they are random they can repeat several times in a row. Despite the improbability. So I added a star. Hopefully in future updates they can add more witty sayings per voice.
Great concept…. If it worked
As a timer it works fine but there is no sound with the app anymore. Tried to uninstall/reinstall but nothing. We end up using the built in timer so we can at least here what’s going on. If the sound worked this would be a easy 5
It’s mid-December, and still no sound.
Let’s see, music and voice volume at maximum. check. iPad volume at maximum. So that’s check. Let’s try YouTube, no there’s sound there. Uninstall and reinstall, no still no music or sound. It is a useable five-minute timer, but I can use the iPhone timer for that. The strength of this timer was the voices.
Works great.
Don’t listen to the dummies that don’t know how to use their phones. Yes - you have to turn your sound on and your volume up in order to hear the sound on the app. (Odd) Works exactly as it should and there are several voices depending on your mood. Good luck escaping the dungeon!

Amusing game companion
Does what it says it will do: makes it easy to keep track of the time while playing. The voices are amusing and we found they enhance the game experience. The interface is easy to use and there is no time spent messing with the app instead of playing the game. However I found that leaving the app running on my phone uses a significant amount of battery. Other than that, the app is great.
