Parent App
The Parent App is an excellent tool for use in child care centres, offering a wide range of features that support communication, administration, and daily operations. It provides countless functions and customization options, making it a comprehensive platform for both educators and families. From a parent’s perspective, the app is very user-friendly and easy to navigate. Parents can quickly access updates, messages, attendance records, photos, and payment information, making it a convenient way to stay connected with the centre. From a management perspective, however, there is a learning curve. Due to the large number of features and settings available, it may take some time to become familiar with the platform, and certain functions can initially feel a bit complex or tricky to use. With regular use, though, it becomes much easier to manage. Overall, we enjoy using this app and find it to be a valuable addition to our child care operations. In particular, the integrated payment system simplifies fee collection and financial management, making the administrative process more efficient for both staff and families.

Being able to download and save photos of our own kids is one of the most basic features parents expect, and its removal has significantly reduced the app’s value

They fixed the issue quickly where the download function for photos was removed
They removed the download button when viewing photos, but fixed the issue and got back to me quickly.
Problematic app
I’m always having issues with logging in and out today I can’t access the app. I hate it and all the staff hate too there’s always an issue
Helpful and Committed to Improving
One of our Parents in our cooperative preschool did some research and thought Parent App would best fit our program. One priority was to be able to receive payments in Canada on the app. Some of the other Day Care Apps could only accept payment in USA. Since we started using the app a few years ago I have always had amazing support through the team there to help and answer any questions. Since I feel we are just scratching the surface with the app I believe there is a ton more to learn. I’ve had two people who have helped me personally with any challenges and they will meet face to face with me (virtually) as soon as we are both available. Bob and Maram both deserve 5 stars! They have an enormous amount of patience and seem to love a challenge. They try their absolute best to solve any issues and if they cant solve it they will send a request to their “behind the scenes” tech people. One last positive point is that if there is something you don’t like about the app or if you would like the app to do something, you can make the suggestion and the programmers will usually be able to make it happen. The title of my review is “Helpful and Committed to Improving” for all the above reasons.
Terrible
The app has no way to turn off group message notifications. Imagine clueless parents asking the same question over and over again - 60 times a day and you cannot silence it. My kid walks to the facility but the app says “he just got on a bus” or “he just got off a bus”. Imagine that the first day with no warning from staff. Also the app ask within the app to update constantly but I use Apple and updates must come from the App Store. The limitations and glitches clearly make this app the worst app I’ve used for this purpose in probably the last 10 years. Terrible.
Outdoor activity alert…non existent.
Would love to see an added feature where the centre inputs when the children are going outdoors. In Canada there is legislation that the children need to be outside one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon. I would like status updates of when child is going outside and returning inside to ensure this is not being neglected nor abused by having them out longer than they should/not going out at all.

The app is fine overall but I can’t do one of the most important things an app like this is for - message teachers. When you go to add participants, instead of a contacts list it says “no_participsnts_available.
Garbage
Horrible app. I don’t even have the patience to explain. Deletes observations when you try to post, updates and moves everything around but doesn’t fix any actual issues or bugs, even parents tell me they hate this app and wish we would switch.
Latest update sucks
When you go to set a time to pickup it sets the clock time to 9:00am and not the current time, you need to scroll through hours and minutes and am/pm. This UI/UX change is worse than what it was previously. Push notifications from messages often just don’t get delivered (this happens on other platforms as well, so that’s a backend problem). At the end of the day this app does its job, but it could/should do it a lot better.
Diverse technische Probleme
App stürzt oft ab. Auch im neusten Release. Ferieneinträge (zB 2-3 Wochen) können nicht mehr 1:1 gelöscht werden, sondern müssen über Kalenderfunktion Tag für Tag gelöscht werden. Nutzerlerlebnis = mässig

So buggy
This app is constantly crashing. I’ve had to delete and reinstall it several times today because it won’t open. Go back to the way it worked before you updated the logo to look like PC Optimum.
Enable “gallery” to view pictures
It’s a really nice app for communicating between parents and teachers, and getting updates. But when viewing the pictures, please put a “gallery” option instead of swiping through. I don’t want to have to go through the pictures of other children just to find the ones of my own.
Very very Slow
App becomes really really slow after the update. Its so frustrating to wait for 3-4 minutes before checking messages and any updates
Photos not loading
Unable to view tagged photos unless it’s contained in a post on my newsfeed. When I click on the “your child has been tagged in a photo” under notifications, the photo won’t load. App is on the latest version.

We’ve been using the parent app since 2024. They have been so accommodating. They have been able to accommodate several of our operational needs. The service level is amazing

I don’t use it only for check in and outs and look at pics of my son. Wish there was a post simply when we open the app you can check him in/out There is alot that I don’t use or care for so simply and less is best for this parent.

Dejlig nem og overskuelig platform. Dog mangler jeg en “rolle” til bedsteforældre, hvor man kun kan give adgang til billederne og ikke andet! Det skal være os som forældre, som styrer navigationerne og ikke bedsteforældrene selv på deres side. Det ved kommer ikke dem, hvornår de sover, eller hvem der henter og hvornår ens barn er blevet hentet! Men ellers en fin app

Terrible User Experience
App asks me for a pin after first login. I havent even set it up yet. Theres no way to bypass this either. Get a better developer please. Opening the app again just shows a bunch of Json text. come on.
Live stream capability
App is good; missing a key feature which is live streaming for children in day care! Needs to be available sooner than later.
Poor app
This is a poor app and it’s appalling as it is for nursery kids. Some drawbacks are: very slow to open and read, see pictures etc. lack of clarity between normal notification and important notification, no calendar, financial integration (invoice etc.) is very poor. On good side one can see pictures posted of kids and like and comment on them. Other apps like class dojo are much better.

I have been really enjoying navigating Parent-App! It is very user friendly, the customer service is outstanding; always willing to help out and very quick to respond to questions! This software is going to make things much easier in all areas of its use!
Worst app ever
This has been the worst experience. Brutal service, banking continues not to save, can only have access to pay via one parent, day care operators seem confused. I would rate it negative if I could.

Started a bit rough however the dev team has been working with parents on bug fixes and feature enhancements. They have been very attentive to customers needs and getting things working as expected. Updating my review as a result.

Great experience and Solid choice for Day care app
This company cares to make product better and useful for the end user. Both the on-boarding and user experience has improved significantly. This is a must have app for us to track activities for our child. I am highly impressed by the feature and functionality and the overall robustness of the app.
Update broke invoices
Can’t see invoices after an update. When I click on invoice details it now brings up a Share subscreen but any app I share the PDF with reports a corrupt file.
