What people like
- Great local community coverage
- Restaurant inspections are super useful
- Reporting feels fair and neutral
What they complain about
- App crashes and loads poorly
- Support ignores your problems
- Ads block the actual news
Like the Traditional Format
While many newspapers are gravitating toward a scroll-type format, the e-newspaper still has the classic "no white space" look of the dead-tree version, which I like.
AWFUL CUSTOMER SEEVICE
Trying to cancel. I followed instructions for the cancellation and nowhere to be found in purchases thru the APP or Apple. I paid for a new subscription too! Would allow me to open “For Subscribers Only” articles. There’s another $149 dollars gone! Terrible on every level. Don’t use this APP!
Useful information
Restaurant inspection news is extremely useful as we eat out often. Thank you to the Naples Daily News for informing the public.
Won’t Let me Opt Out of Targeting
I don’t look at ads, targeted otherwise. I’d like to limit what I get but the app won’t let me change the setting.
Hard to work with
App is difficult to manage and make sense or changes.

Articles behind a paywall
I got a discount to subscribe for my first year, but I haven’t resubscribed as the current rates are way too expensive for a biased small town paper. I did not appreciate the biased slant in the articles the past year on political or national events. I am only interested in local happenings, as I get my main news elsewhere. I’m frustrated that this app has almost all the articles behind a paywall. There are plenty of papers that rely on ad revenue from non-subscribers. And just so you know, if I see your headline pop up on my phone, I can find that news through the local TV network websites instead. It’s not like you guys are the only journalists in town. Your app is certainly convenient, but not worth the price to subscribe.
Poor performance
This app is not well integrated with the print edition. It drops out ,errors a d is a pain. I use the same app to read the St. Paul, MN paper and it’s flawless. I’d guess the IT people are somewhat challenged.
Frustrating
Dealing with you is one of the most experience I have had. I ordered a new digital subscription today. Your employee was very helpful and took my order and credit card. However I could not get the digital paper. I called back to get help and got a message to call during regular business hours. You were happy enough to take my money but not willing to help me get the service I paid for.
Really bad app
Most Apps you want to just work. This one may for while, then not, then decide to change how it works. I never saw an App with a mind of its own before.
E newspaper’s
Where is my paper?
On-line version no longer works.
It no longer lets me see a complete version of the actual paper, which it did up to four days ago. If this can’t be fixed, I will unsubscribe.
Well presented
Very current, I am tuned in almost all day for the headlines. Thank you for making this available, and on a professional level without skew of much of the press.
App needs refreshing
Naples Daily News is the only newspaper I have subscribed to which repeatedly asks for a new sign in. This is so annoying. With only two people in our household, and much traveling, this is so inconvenient. Once signed in, let it be.
E-edition
Say what you want about deterioration of local newspapers under Garnett’s dictatorship, the destruction of the e-edition for iPad was almost the last straw. Until just a couple of weeks ago, reading the paper on a tablet was a one click affair and full screen viewing in letter or landscape was easy. Not so now and I find with diminished eyesight reading the paper has become laborious. Thank goodness for Newsmemory. If that goes away so does my subscription! It’s bad enough that it’s no longer a daily newspaper - it should be called the Day Late and Dollar Short News.

Very Informative
Lost e paper replica
No matter how I try I cannot get the replica edition to work.
New app easy yo use
The new app for the electronic version of the Naples Daily News is much easier to use than the old one. I would prefer to see more local coverage and a little less national coverage only because I get the national coverage in other newspaper apps and by the time I read it in the Naples Daily News it’s a day or two old.
Very difficult to navigate and read.
App is NOT user-friendly, and the problem is compounded when the techs make coding changes and hide access to some features (ie: Where is the archive hidden today?)
App doesn’t load properly
What a mistake! I should never have used my Apple ID to purchase the Naples daily news. The app doesn’t load properly and The Naples Daily News won’t help. I tried Apples customer service, but no luck either!
Local News
Really enjoy getting the local news through this paper. They do an excellent job.
Newspaper
Site locks up and will not reopen.
Good Reporting , very current, I am A retired public servant.
I enjoy clear impartial reporting, giving good background, I would like to see more reporting on our Latin American neighbors. Thanks for what you are doing,
Naples and environs
are lucky to have a daily printed paper! Many places don't. We should be glad that we are able to get a variety of points of view.
Trying to Suspend Service
This app is not functional when trying to find out how to put my paper on Vacation Hold. No customer service number ???? A bit of a joke service in fact the paper with its 48 Hour delay is a joke too.
Clear, concise reporting

Won’t Load
Not sure why you can’t figure this out but I have to jump through hoops to get the NAPLES DAILY NEWS e-edition to load. Ready to cancel my subscription.
Excellent newspaper, one of the good ones left.
Keep it up
Bad and good
App stinks; content of paper is great!!
Helps keep me informed of local happenings!
Lots of good local information
E edition is worse
The revised PDF edition is much worse than the old one. Full of additional advertising that block the paper view. The page forward/back buttons cover the print and often crashes and reloads when you try to zoom in or swipe. Bring back the old e view edition please.
Up to date
Great way to keep up on our local news.
Worst
Happy to see it not just me…I used to love this app…now I can’t read without the print being too small, too big, or too sensitive to the touch, reverting back to another unreadable font…I like reading the paper from my iPad, horizontal, in full one page at a time fashion…I used to do that, now I can’t…also, do you not have the USA add on anymore…ugh, I really don’t know, I can’t get that far until I get frustrated and move on to another paper…
