Plays terrible
Bought it to try, should have had a contoller for it before purchase. Those digital joysticks are terrible. Played literally a minute of it. Not eligible for refund. I regret this purchase
Lock the buttons PLEASE!
Please make it possible to lock the buttons in one place, otherwise it creates extreme discomfort when playing. I try to run and shoot, but the buttons start moving frantically in all directions. I can't simply lock them in place and move and shoot. It's also disappointing that the game is now only played horizontally; on the mobile version, I was happy with the vertical screen; it looked great in its own way and added charm. Also, I should add the price of the DLC: why are they so expensive? You can buy all of this for much less on Steam, or maybe they should offer some temporary discounts. Overall, I'm very grateful to everyone who worked on the game; it's iconic and legendary.
Floating Joysticks a Massive Pain
please just add more control personalisation options! the joysticks float about on the screen and it’s terrible, there needs to be an option to fix them in place. Very hard to enjoy this game with isaac just zooming uncontrollably about..

The floating movement control that follows my finger makes it really difficult to move and shoot—especially when picking up items, as the game sometimes mistakes movement inputs for taps on the items themselves, preventing me from moving. It would be much better to have fixed positions for the fire and movement controls.

I wrote this review a few months ago and as I was looking at other reviews I noticed that there’s no developer replies to any reviews. Unfortunately it seems like the dev team aren’t going to update this game ever. This is my angry rant about the controls. This would be a 5 star rating easy, BUT I KEEP DYING BECAUSE OF THE CONTROLLER MOVING AROUND MY SCREEN!!! Please please PLEASE add a 3rd option for the controller where it stays in one position of the screen like EVERY OTHER GAME ON MOBILE! Great game HORRIFIC CONTROLS.

I personally would like the treasure room connected to the first room mod so that I don’t have to spend so much time looking for the treasure room. also, please make it so that you can drop trinkets without having to equip a new one. also, any double tapping ability is really hard to use.
Controls ruin the game.
It makes no sense why there wouldn't be an option to make the joystick static. Honestly I don't understand why that wouldn't be the default. Makes the game basically impossible to play. Seriously disappointed.

Controls suck
The game was just ripped from console and pc and slapped on mobile with no attention to making the game work with ios and they decided to charge full price. When I load the game it doesn't even fit the whole screen and I am stuck with a black bar on both sides of the screen. I can't even use those areas as controls so I have to move my fingers to the middle of the screen to play, covering the little screen space I can actually see. I have to make sure to not accidentally touch the black bars because they register no input which has gotten me killed multiple times. Game would be great if they actually had literally 1 developer to make it compatible with newer bigger phones but this has been an issue for years with no fix other than to use controller which completely defeats the purpose of it being a mobile game. For reference I am on iPhone 14 plus and the current phone out right now is the iPhone 17 so in terms of apple I am behind and this game still doesn't run optimally. If you want this game just buy it on pc or console otherwise you will be wasting your money with this version
Issac on iOS Can be GOOD! But HOLY PLEASE FIX THE GAME
I’ve been playing the binding of Issac since it released on iOS when there weren’t any DLC and only Rebirth was on it, and after they released the DLCS, I bought them immediately! The last Update was to fix Forgotten Needing A trinket to change to the ghost, and fixing pocket actives and adding more controls to Tainted Characters. This was Almost 3 YEARS AGO, and ever since then, there has been countless bugs, unusable items + Trinkets, Awful control changes for no reason, save file corruption and many MANY more. Issue One / The controls: The Controls are really awful, and are a major downgrade from the previous ones before the DLCS were buyable, Dropping Trinkets are on the bottom left of the screen, now this sounds fine… but the button is INVISIBLE, not to mention, if you even GRAZE the near the trinket button, you simply stop moving and stop in-place, this is ABSOLUTELY AWFUL to deal with, and requires an unnecessary odd finger placement just to avoid the trinket button, and that’s just one of the issues, due to the screen now being much smaller, the Moving controls on iPad are AWFUL, they block the screen, are annoying, can make it difficult to use them if you drag them too far away from the area, and are simply a nuisance, this was not an issue as they were completely stopped in place in the previous update, now they move all over the place for no reason whatsoever. Issue Two / Items + Trinkets + Items being unusable: Items like D-Infinity and Blood Bombs / Trinkets like RC Remote and blood clots / golden bombs at 0 Bombs, and many more are simply useless without a controller, blood bombs and golden bombs can’t be used at 0 bombs due to the fact that the bombs button disappears at 0 bombs, items like D-Infinity can’t be switched due to the fact there’s no button or action to switch them, and RC car and Blood clots can’t allow you to move them separately due to the fact the button doesn’t appear, these items and trinkets and pickups can’t not be used without the use of a controller, and without a controller these things become UTTERLY USELESS making them pointless deadweight, in the previous update, you could switch D-Infinity with the trinket button due to it acting like a Key, but now that it’s been fixed, you simply can NOT use D-infinity or other items like it. Issue Three / Dailies being (Semi)unplayable: The button to play dailies is completely grayed out, so how are you meant to unlock some of the Unlocks that requires you to play Dailies? Simple! Just turn off airplane mode / the Wifi, turn it back on, and then QUICKLY press the button as the WiFi comes back on before it grays out again, this will take MANY attempts to even be able to do so, this is MISERABLE to deal with, and without the knowledge of what you need to do to ungray the button, it practically makes the unlocks Unobtainable. The Third and biggest issue / complete Save file reversals / deletion: Thankfully I’ve never experienced this issue, but the fact that this can happen is really bad, it isn’t possible to copy a save file so when one of these do happen, it is simply impossible to do anything, this is not only really awful, but can also be extremely demotivating and can Ruin the game and any enjoyment of it. Yes the binding of Isaac is a very well made and fairly polished game, and While I enjoy the binding of Issac, I simply do not recommend YOU get it on iOS, it simply has too many issues for it to be worth it, all I can hope is one day these issues can be fixed, but until then, NEVER PLAY THIS GAME IN IOS.
Hard to play
I’d never played a Binding of Isaac game before and when I saw it was on mobile I thought I’d try it out. However the controls are awful on mobile and as a new player I have no access to info on items, rooms or what to look out for on maps. Pretty unfortunate given the hype.

The floating joysticks in this game make it impossible to play competently and there is no option to disable them. The game would get 5 stars from me if not for this one, simple issue that's makes the game unplayable without a controller. EDIT: After playing the game a bit more, I can definitely say that these controls are horrible. I can't fathom what they were thinking when they made them but it's so bad that I just can't fathom a competent developer making something so horrible. The devs must not have even tried these controls because they are genuinely so bad. I might even go as far as to say that the controls are an affront to god.
Amazing port but terrible execution
Identical in nearly all areas but the controls are pretty finicky. You can't change the size of joysticks or disable the movement on them and they can get annoying. Joysticks also have issues when dragging into some ui icons where you can't drag/interact with it at all. Not only that, but some characters and mechanics are completely disregarded for mobile, there is no dropping, blood bombs can't be used as intended, and tainted cain isn't even playable because you can't craft with him. The only way to make this playable is to use a controller or keyboard or else you can only dream of getting dead god. Good game though.
Almost unplayable with touch controls
I have put hundreds of hours into this game on console but I don’t understand how they have managed to make the touch controls so bad , walking and aiming is so hard due to the joysticks not staying in one place so once you start walking in one direction the sticks keep moving and you keep having to constantly reset your movement sticks it makes what already can be a hard game nearly impossible to play I don’t understand how anyone thought this was okay, there’s is no option to fix this so unless you have a controller or something to play this with I really couldn’t recommend it
Give us an update !
I really enjoy this game however some of the mechanics aren’t here. Like D infinity doesn’t work. I just defeated mother and I didn’t unlock Jacob and Esau. I was grinding and dying so many time to beat her and to continue the game but I didn’t get them :(. It sucks because I enjoy this game but I wish it was up to date :/.

I’d love this game so much. I play almost every day if you just don’t play with a controller, the movement kind of sucks but if you have a USB-C in the USB-C to that’s it, you can disconnect your controller Xbox. I don’t know about PlayStation, but it’s a great game overall has a decent amount of things. Luckily, you can get the DLC. You don’t have to buy a PC and steam and get all the DLC’s in skip straight to rebirth.

Losing progress
I keep losing chunks of my unlocks in this game
Horrible issue
Ive had this issue that any time i make any significant progress in the game and make significant achievements, my progress resets. Im pretty sure ive beat mother more than 5 times on a brand new safe file trying to regain my progress fo the better half of a year now. Its quite irritating to be playing, go eat and see that my progress was erased.
Game not saving
Whenever I exit out the game sometimes my progress gets reset and I have to do a lot of things over again and its really frustrating because I’m not even good at this game and to unlock hella stuff after u almost died trying to get it really takes the fun out of playing, fix it, now.

Game breaking bug
Love this game to death. Have played since flash. Found an issue recently, though. When playing as Lilith (obviously on mobile) if I pause and swipe out of the app to answer a message or any given reason, all my extra buddies from cambion conception disappear. This will kill your run a lot of the time especially on greed mode with Lilith. I’ll stack about 10-12 buddies, swipe out to answer someone or do something, and when I re enter the game they all disappear.

Played it for awhile and then just stopped working. Wasn’t sure for an update but never saw one. So I’m wondering why it’s not loading when I open the app. Great game love that’s it’s mobile now but please keep fixing these bugs for us.

disappointing
Genuinely horrible, dysfunctional, harder to implement, aneurysm inducing, ragebait controls. Why would you ever want the controls to not be locked, on mobile???? it's like having the keys on the keyboard change which key you have to press for movement every time you use them, no one would ever think to do that.. this is sad honestly that there was no effort put into the controls, when the game is so good. 15 dollars per purchase and you can't put the effort to simply lock a control so it's not flying around the screen, or at least give an option to lock them. Please change this
Excellent port outside of resolution and performance hiccups
Grabbed this along with AB/AB+/Rep so I can play it natively on Mac (Rep isn’t native for Mac on Steam). Game runs fine with gamepad but resolution is weird as it can’t be fullscreen and sometimes the game will pause for a few seconds during gameplay (because it’s an iOS game running on Mac? Running on external storage? Not sure the cause).
Great game, horrible touch controllers
I’ll change the review once this simple issue is fixed, the controls are confined to what’s inside of the aspect ratio meaning you easily lose control of Isaac losing hearts and progression. 20$ + DLC not worth it unless you’re playing with a controller
