What about people who work from home? It basically only says for like majority of the time im at home
What happened?
I lived this app but about two days ago it stopped working correctly. It tracked me and still shows in at the same place. Says that “the position is preliminary”. But keeps saying that in doing the same activity. I was traveling for work in another state, visiting customers Then I took them to dinner then back to my hotel and it never changed. Now I’m home and it says I’m still visiting my customer. Please help.
Works well
Been using the app for many years. Gives a good overview of how you spend your time. Great for people who love statistics, give a lot of data, or a quick overview. I would love to be able to see my stats for a selectable time frame.
Not as good anymore
Have used this app for good few years and really liked it but in the last few months accuracy is poor, checking in at places a good few minutes away from where I actually am and also linking the wrong activity to certain places e.g. knowing I’m at home but saying that I’m shopping.
Used to love it
I used to love this app until it quit logging my location. I tried all the usual remedies like turning the phone on and off, reloading the app, and nothing worked. The app simply stopped working. Customer service was unhelpful. It keeps reading different locations as “home”. I only have one home.
Best App I’ve Ever Downloaded, Best Company I’ve Ever Supported
I’ve been using Life Cycle for almost 10 years now (probably around 8-9) and I’ve never been more loyal to an app. Life Cycle has been tracking my location and giving me statistical insights for SO long that it feels like a part of me. The functionality of this app is absolutely amazing, only very rarely bugging out or breaking, and by rarely I mean maybe three times in the past decade. There are no pop up ads every few seconds, no paywalls that lock away half the app, no sponsorships or partnerships pushing products or microtransactions, it’s beautiful. The data it collects is NOT SOLD!! Northcube is transparent in their values on personal data and doesn’t store it or sell it. They even give you an option to export your data to CSV format if you’re interested in doing a more thorough, personal data analysis. The $30 a year for premium is genuinely a steal and I’d recommend anyone who likes this app to pull the trigger on it, it is MORE than worth it. I pray this app never changes to be predatory, because the way it is now has given me the utmost respect and trust to the app and the company. I believe more companies/apps should strive to be like Northcube/Life Cycle, they are truly a blessing in today’s world.
Update again 3/27/26 How does one report an abandoned app??
I don’t know when I wrote the first one review, but it is sucking even more lately. Abandoned??? I’ve used the free app for a few years and have considered upgrading, but every time I almost do it, I realize that it is totally unsupported. No criticisms or questions are ever answered by the developer. Updates are years apart and weak. I will stick with the free one until it finally pisses me off completely! Done!
Needs more icon
Overall a great app and I’ve used it for years. However, they do need more icons. Each category is somewhat limited. Things like military base, zoo, breakfast, backpacking, and the myriad of exercise icons. Right now almost everything is represented by a barbell. The Apple watch alone has an icon for every exercise.
Love it, could use improvements
I’ve been a premium user of both this app and sleep cycle for a few years, and the two apps are not sync’d and although having a back up of data is a premium feature, the feature does not work on my premium account. Its disappointing that they dont have any option to submit a support ticket to bring this to their attention.
Great app but…
Can we get more colors & activity emoji/icons to choose from? I’ve been using this app for a good 3-4 years now and that’s really the only complaint I have.
Love the app!
Love the app after using it for close to 3 years. —— I do want to note that the developer website is broken, and any attempts to contact them through provided links end in a “critical error”. I just have a feature request: add more colors for activity tracking and let users delete default categories they don’t use (for example, I never cycle but can’t delete that category). Thanks!
Search Function
Please add a search function for activities so it can be much faster to search for the right activity like gym etc. loyal user for years but your website for your contact is unavailable.
Odd prompts each day at the bottom of the doughnut.
Why do I need to know at some locations that I sleep worse when I go there. It’s creepy to know that I sleep worse when I visit the cemetery. It has also told me my sleep suffers when I get a haircut. Come on, those algorithms are worthless. What’s going on?
Needs Updates
Have used this app for six years now. Love being able to see the data. It needs some investment from its developers. There have been no new features in five years, and now things are breaking — eg week on week graphs. Please come back to this app guys, it could be so special.
These apps used to be great.
I recently switched to a new phone and was unable to bring over any of my backed up data. That’s years of data gone. Honestly it makes me want to delete the apps because starting over seems too annoying.

Great app
I love the simplicity and tracking of the app but it gets finicky at times. Recently it stopped working completely for a few weeks. Other than that it’s a great way to see where and what you spend time on.
Needs so many updates
I have used this app for years and it is very cool to track your whereabouts, see trends and learn some things about yourself. That being said for goodness sake update the app already! First of all I have a few duplicate locations in my inventory. And i am sure i am not the only one. Make it so we can consolidate them into one. Second give us a search option when we are putting in details. When we have to scroll through a long list a lot of us will end up making a duplicate entry by accident because we missed the info. Third we need so many more colors and icon options. This should be a no brainer. Not every location or activity fits into the limited icon list. Fourth stop allowing the app to sign us out. I can’t tell you how many times I get the warning to do an online backup and when I press it learn that my account isn’t logged in. If I haven’t pressed sign out…it shouldn’t be signed out! I know you have developers because Sleep Cycle gets updated with way too many pointless updates all the time. How about you spare a couple of them to this app so it can get a much MUCH needed refresh.

I already toggled always allow location access, but it keeps telling me to do it and no matter how many times I turned it off and on again, it doesn’t wanna do it. I just got my first thing and it said 'I’m sorry it didn’t seem like we could track your location' or whatever the hell it was. 'Did you forget to bring your phone?' like no I’ve had my phone on me the entire time and I have 'always allow location' on. I just got this app literally like a couple days ago. So I’m not sure what the issue is.

They removed sleep
Sleep was always the biggest part of my chart. Obviously, you sleep more than anything looking back. They turned it off in 2025. I’ve been using this abs since 2020 and now I randomly don’t get sleep data anymore unless I pay. I am so sick of everything being a subscription, ridiculous. Uninstalled goodbye.
Unable to sync old activity to new device
Website is still down, customer service is inaccessible. Need to sync activity from old device to new since data didn’t carryforward. The app relies on a backup system that overwrites existing activity and must be a premium user for this setting. I can’t upload an export from the old device to sync and without support will have to let go of all logs from the old device.
Tracking is worse
I’ve used this app for years, but I’m tired of how many corrections I need to enter. If I go anywhere within a quarter mile, it automatically lumps all my activity into one place, and often not the correct one. Also, Foursquare is no longer being updated so I can’t find businesses that opened within the last couple of years. The amount of work necessary to maintain an accurate donut isn’t worth what I used to get out of it. Oh well, nothing lasts forever.
Add more app connections
I have been using this app since 2019. I really wish there was a way to connect FitBit devices to LifeCycle. I'm able to convert my FitBit data to Apple Health data, but LifeCycle doesn't read it. Really frustrating missing tens of thousands of steps!

Very useful but recently quit working
I second what reyka_3 said. Their website still appears to be down and though I have loved this app as it helps me keep track of how long I’m at a clients house working, I need to contact someone because, as of 3 days ago, Life Cycle has stopped tracking my location entirely no matter how many times I redownload the app or toggle on and off location permissions in settings. Any support would be greatly appreciated.
Tracking Incorrectly
I have had this app for many years and paid for the premium version. Over the last year I noticed that it started assigning different places to my home residence. I would be at home for a whole day but the app said I was at the doctor office and the option to change location was locked. I am not sure how many other places I have been and the information has been wrong. I used this as a personal diary of daily activities. I have canceled my subscription and will not continue using this app since it is seems to be unstable at this point.
Stopped tracking locations
Could be due to updating iOS but as of Friday the app has stopped indicating any information. No location data and therefore no activity.

Needs activity update
I have used this app for several years. It is good at categorizing places that you go to automatically. You should be able to add more than one activity to a location. You should be able to sort activities much easier. When you click activities, you get a whole alphabetical list and have to scroll. You should be able to hide the activities that you are not using. There should be a search function where you could type a few letters and find an activity quickly. It needs to be easier to search by location also. You should be able to disable the activities that you don’t see all of them at any given screen. You should be able to change the activity for a a series of dates by selecting all in any given screen.
I like, but wish there was a way to correct it
I enjoy this app, BUT, there is no way to correct where it thinks I am and what I am doing there- which is insanely frustrating. I work in retail and it thinks I shop 40 hours a weeks. Their customer service page doesn’t work either so there is no way to get any support. Which is very frustrating. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Padlock next to Location
For years I have used this app and love it! Except this past weekend for the first time my location is incorrect (ok so this happens sometimes) but this time there is a padlock and I am unable to change the location! Anyone have any ideas?
A great tracker
Simply put Life Cycle tracks everything you do and everywhere you do it. It’s pretty accurate, but it allows you to go in and override any entry which I love and then it learns oh this place is where you usually have a business meeting … probably machine learning, but that’s what it’s supposed to do. I can also see kind of months I’ve had in an even compare years. Well worth downloading and using.
No Support Available
As mentioned in multiple reviews, the developer website for support requests is non-functional. The app hasn't been updated in 9 months. I tried to report the problem to Apple but they will only accept reports from PAID users. I came here to purchase a subscription but am not going to do that if there's no app support. Is there anyone on here who has a paid subscription and is willing to report the problem to Apple? There is a link on this page to report a problem to them.
Hello?
I have loved this app - but there hasn’t been a significant update in many years. I’d consider cancelling my membership next year if nothing changes. Give us widgets, integration with screen time. Functionality to track individual work tasks etc.
No support
This used to be quite good but now it misses actions. Eg yesterday there is 30 minutes missing which was 20 minutes transport plus walk. You have to edit every day. Plus apple watch confuses it No update for 2 years but still asks for money
Missing a few key features
The basic functionality of this app behaves as expected, and the privacy and export features are great. Two features that would make this a 5-star app: 1. The ability to edit location activities in bulk. It is unavoidable that this app often records my location as the museum next to my office (associated activity: visit museum), but it's infuriating that I can't change the activity associated with a location in bulk. For a given location, I should be able to set all instances of one activity to a different activity. (Work used to be school, so it would be nice if I only had to change the "visit museum" activity at the associated location to "work", rather then all activities at the associated location). 2. Sometimes you end up having two different activities at the same location. The app seems to arbitrarily decide which of those activities to attribute to that location going forward. It really needs the ability to set a default automatic activity. These two features would basically change the recordkeeping value of this app from "not accurate at all", to "usually pretty accurate"

This app is just brilliant! But then… oh no.. notification about subscription renewal. I looked and saw £13.99. And that’s a sweet spot. I think if others (apps) were less greedy, they would earn more in the end of the day. Three years with this app, and I’ll stay. Cheers!
Please Fix This App
I really want to like this app. I’ve been using it for close to 10 years and I’m totally addicted to it. But this app has gotten so much worse over time, I don’t know what they do with the money people pay for the premium version. I’m also not sure why it had such a high rating still as so many reviewers seem to be on the same page as me. There are so many glitches. If the first Starbucks you entered into the app was in NYC, it will assume that is the same Starbucks you go to every time even if you are obviously in LA and just went to Erewhon five minutes before. It regularly doesn’t recognize your location even though every other app on your phone does. Locations take forever to update. My sleep data is all messed up. And it changes old data. Please get it together, this app has so much potential.
Almost exactly what I want
I love everything that’s already there in this app, it’s just missing a huge opportunity. I spend most of my time at home, and a lot of that on my phone or computer. It would be really helpful to be able to sync up iOS screen time data with my donuts. Currently I find it interesting to see where I spend my time physically, but it just doesn’t give me the full view of my habits since so much of it is online. If it had this function I’d probably shell out for premium.
It was the best
Sadly this app is no longer updated. After years of using it, I had to change for another one due to lack of updates/ bug fixes. Please do not pay the subscription as it is money lost. So sad to see you go. It was the best.
Unable to view locations
Right now it says I’ve been to a million places in the last year but since I haven’t labeled every single one there’s no way to visualize them. I would love to see them on a map with time stamps on each. Who cares about the label?
Useful and attractive tool!
Sleep Cycle introduced me to Life Cycle. I’ve only been for a month and some, so I’m not comfortable to give a full evaluation. But I find the breakdown presentation of how my daily, weekly, monthly (and yearly) activities very useful. It is another perspective which helps me to time manage and plan more insightfully. Could the developers please tell me if/how I can edit activity colours once I’ve created them? Many thanks.

I got this app and they offered 30 day trial i accepted and was charged straight away £29-99 this should be looked into .
Not A Well Maintained App
I’ve used this app for years and was a premium subscriber until I checked my subscriptions just now and noticed that the annual price has increased by 40%. Given that the app doesn’t get updated often and that there are a few usability improvements that could be made, I no longer feel it’s value for money. I’ll continue to use the free version instead. Also the FAQ’s page is still stating that the premium is $9:99 which is inaccurate. I had no prior notification of the increase in price either.
App great. Support poor.
App is fantastic. Truly not a battery drain and amazing to keep a running log 24/7 without having to do anything. Online backup has not worked in over a year. Support has been unresponsive. I’m getting a replacement iPhone and will lose a ton of data if I can’t find a valid work-around backup. I recommend the app. I do NOT recommend subscribing to online backup, at least not until support improves.
