Great for groggy sleepers.
Great app. Really helps me wake up in the morning. I really wish it had the ability to record sound, but even so, I’d definitely recommend it for people who struggle to wake up and feel groggy in the mornings.
Breaks my Eardrums
I've been looking for an app that can wake me up a little less aggressively than my normal alarm, and I thought this might work with the 30 minute wakeup, but no. I often listen to white noise or an audiobook through headphones to fall asleep, but when this first alarm starts, it increases whatever other audio is playing to 100%, blasts my eardrums, and shocks me awake more aggressively than my regular alarm. I've tried turning on "air play" in the app and turning the volume for the alarm itself to 0, nothing works. App doesn't have support available beyond generic faqs so here we are.
Generally a great free app
I use the app nightly to monitor my general sleep patterns. Love that it has a built in alarm that gradually builds/gets louder. Only reason I haven’t given it 5⭐️ is every now and again for some reason the alarm doesn’t go off, will say it only sounded once (as opposed to snoozed) but it actually didn’t. You know this as it will be half an hour after it was set that I wake and it would have needed snoozing several times during that period. Annoying when it means I’m late but happens so infrequently I can’t be bothered looking for an alternative
Screen too bright since latest upgrade
I’ve used Sleep Time for well over a decade and have genuinely loved it. That’s why this latest update is disappointing. The new interface has too many bright white buttons and screen elements, making it much too bright for nighttime use. For a sleep app, dark, low-light usability should be a priority. Please consider adding a true dark mode or reducing the brightness of the buttons. I’d love to keep using the app I’ve trusted for years.
Good, but something wrong with it
It was an amazing app before, but recently the app just hasnt been playing the alarm sound and ive been late to places on multiple occasions. Please look into this issue further
Great app for sleep tracking
This app functionality is fantastic, and it uploads automatically to my Apple Health and Personify apps.
The notes don’t work!
After the recent update the adding of the notes/ tags after you set the alarm don’t work. The icons are too big to “submit” or whatever it was and if you swipe down it goes away. Fix this.
I have been using this app since April 2014
When I first started using this app, it was amazing. It actually recorded when I would sleep and listen to the deep/light sleep periods. Something happened one day when it updated and it never worked the same. If I remember correctly, it was related to the iOS restrictions to curb apps monitoring you all the time. So I believe they were forced to change the algorithm to checking in periodically rather than constantly. This led to a less desirable tracking. While although that was great at the time, what I love is the alarm. You set your window, mine is 30 minutes. And if I set my alarm at 7, it could wake me up anywhere between 630 and 730. It tries to listen more during that time and if I stir, it’ll play the gradual melody to wake me up. What gets people is the snooze. Shake the thing and it’ll snooze. There’s another parameter you can set to lower the snooze time and the amount of times you can snooze. If you say 10 mins, but say you can snooze 3 times, that’s 30 mins. My alarm would then max wake me up at 8 by my example. So on average if I want to wake up around 7, I would set my alarm at around 6:10. If you want a “hard wake up” like a normal alarm clock. This app is not for you.
Fix your UI
The X button to continue into the free app shouldn’t be shoved into the upper right corner where it’s nearly IMPOSSIBLE to hit and close out of the ad. Shame on you
Alarm sound stopped working
I’ve been using this for yearsss and love it. But for the past 3 days the sound for the alarm hasn’t worked
Perfect and free
I needed an app to track my sleep for our insurance plan to pay us. I tried app after app for a week and all wanted a subscription. Finally I found this one and it worked perfectly!
Why log in?
Been using this alarm app for nearly 15 years. Why do you need an account to use it now? Why is there no guest option? I just want to set my alarm. This is heartbreaking. I knew something was in the works when the ads change about a month ago. Sad
Soundscape buggy?
I’ve used this for years- love the simple dial interface- always works for me- love the ability to flip my phone for snooze- fantastic product. Recently I’m unable to get iTunes to launch to pick my soundscape- maybe a bug? iOS 15.6.1
Why doesn’t alarm play through headphones?!
I used this app years ago in college and really loved it so decided to re-download it now to get insight on my sleep patterns. The issue is that I now live in a horribly noisy area or people rev their car engines and screech their tires constantly and so I sleep with headphones in. We all know that the standard alarm on iPhone is trash and doesn’t play through headphones. But neither does this app. So now it’s not going to be usable for me. Someone needs to fix this problem and they would be the most popular alarm app ever
Full volume autoplay ads- that’s what you want at bedtime!
You used to be able to bypass the ads by disconnecting from the internet— not anymore. The free form of this app is unusable. It’s not a free app with purchase unless the grub hub commercial jingle really gets you sleepy— it’s just a paid app.
Best free sleep app
This is the only free sleep app I’ve found that actually works! I have considered upgrading, but I can’t find anything that explains the premium features. I wish it would give some examples of sleep reports or sleep programs, but that’s literally my only complaint, so, highly recommend.
Stops working all the time
This app works for me 1/10 times. Every other time when I wake up and go to shut it off, I find it automatically stopped at some point and didn’t count any of my sleep rendering it useless
Black screen
Only real complaint is when I set the alarm the screen goes black over and over while I try to close all the ads that pop up (also one of the ads was porn which is weird because this is apple).
Frustrated
I tried it free and decided to buy it. But it won’t allow me to add my name to the account, therefore the app won’t generate reports!! I’ve contacted the company and no response. Thinking about canceling soon if no response or help.
Updates are slowly making this a one star app
Can we PLEASE get back the ability to type in a wake up time?!? The dial is beyond frustrating to set when your sleepy and half awake, and tends to jump around as you’re trying to release it. I end up settling for a “close enough” alarm clock half of the time. Do better. This is an easy fix.

Cash grab
After using the app for 5+ years with all features unlock for a small fee, the app has reverted my status back to free version with adds. Not trying to pay additional monthly fees for an application feature I previously had. -app deleted-

Features lost
I’ve used the app for a long time but yesterday it wouldn’t open so I reinstalled. Unfortunately now using soundscapes from your own library is a premium feature. Also heart rate reports are gone. Ive minimal use for this app now.
Great app but
Great app but I’ve only had it 1 day and now it won’t let me open it as whenever I try it just crashes. I tried deleting it and reinstalling it which let me open it but the second I clicked log in it crashed again.

NO DATA PRIVACY
Seriously, READ the privacy terms and conditions. They openly admit to saving your “social media log in credentials” if you input them into the same device you use their app on. They save all the data about you they can get their hands on from your phone. Do not download this app onto a personal device.

This app is a little difficult to understand, but I’m sure with time I’ll figure out how everything works.
Dissapointed
I had this years ago - was great- in simpler times I guess. Now I can’t fathom it. Couldn’t get the soundscape to play. Too many ads. Why do all these company’s want 8 - 10 £ per month?? Or more? It’s too much. I really need to give up on aps. It’s always the same. Want you sign up. You forget and go on giving them money. All BS.
Nice but design is overly complicated
I think it could be made much better if it were easier to get to the features that most likely will be changed each night, e.g. the sleep settings is kinda tucked away, and it's annoying to have to scroll so far down to get to Wake Up Phase options. Having a shortcut on the home screen would be ideal, perhaps in the top right corner above the clock face.

Sound issues
Every night when I go to switch the alarm on, the podcast (or other audio) playing on my phone is suddenly set to full volume. It’s a massive issue, especially when trying to fall asleep. Other than this issue, it’s a great app.

Ads that can’t be clicked away
This app has now started to have ads that can not be clicked away, and they don’t time out. Makes the app completely useless.
Great
I currently have Argus premium and everything works great. Something that I would suggest to change is instead of using the media volume for the alarm, use the actual alarm. I don't like to start playing music and getting a heart attack because the volume is maxed out.
Used to have no issues with it, but now...
I’ve had this app for around 5 years now and it’s been amazing practically sending me straight to sleep, however over the past week, the alarm has been “cancelled” or something overnight as it has stopped waking me up and there is no record of me setting the alarm in the first place. Almost made me late for work a couple of times (hence the such low rating). Absolutely loved it until I started having issues, please fix ASAP!
Alright
A good app for sending you to sleep (the noises are very good) but it only keeps the past 5 night sleeps and often crashes. It also freezes a lot when trying to change the alarm.
Interface not intuitive
The red x on the ads does not remove the ads, it launches the ads! Please remove the red x if the ad is not allowed to be removed. That is just mean! The screens are also very unintuitive, I would never buy premium with such a bad design.
loud ads, ads in foreign languages, bad reviews
I've had the app for years and the devs have experimented with ugly ways for them to make a buck off of you - playing loud pop up ads as you're setting your alarm - I even have gotten ads in foreign languages where the close button is (I assume) the word "close" in that language... not to mention how they hound you to set up an account (more data collection). I've also had my share of mid-night crashes that cause me to miss waking up on time. very unsavory and antagonistic view of their user base - avoid this app.

Do not recommend. I downloaded this app to track my sleep. But you have to pay to see that. the only free option is an alarm but my iPhone can set (reliable) alarms without having to download an app. 10/10 would not recommend
A little tricky
This app is great when it works but the instructions aren't very clear. The information recorded is good but I am not convinced by its accuracy
Stoped working
Doesn’t work all of the sudden says not enough data, nothing I have changed, I don’t know how I don’t have any contact person.
Alarm no longer makes noise
Have waken up late for work twice now due to the alarm not making any noise. Will be switching apps immediately
Love it
I very much like this app. The only down side is it tracking only 5 days... Otherwise I'm using it almost every night!
To many adds
The app makers don’t want free users, an add pops up with every click. It makes it impossible to use (it’s pretty rubbish anyway) because every part of each setting brings up a new add window. Three separate adds to set the time. I don’t think much of it anyway, clunky and unimaginative, I definitely wouldn’t pay for it. Deleted from my phone after a few try’s.
Brilliant when it works...
I have had this app for awhile now and when it records my sleep it is brilliant I love the insights. However, recently it has not been recording my sleep, even though I set the time, locked my phone and didn't quit the app. I receive the notifications to wake up but when I unlock my phone, the app restarts and has not recorded my sleep. It could be when I oversleep. Although, there is no real pattern in to the lost recordings, which is frustrating. If I hadn't experienced such problems the app would receive 5 stars but now I have gaps in my sleep records. 😔
