Used to think this was a great app, then they added pay walls and premium to it and started to make things super slow for the free version. Takes way too long to open, it’s a joke.
I have ONE issue with this app
It’s a simple app to use and I like the chimes that are used for the waking up. It’s been both helpful and eye opening seeing my stats. My issue is that my phone has to be on my nightstand for it to track accurately and so if I want to use it for it’s useful features I have to bring my phone to bed with me every night. This is where the process has been taking a negative toll personally because I am more prone to act on thoughts and start doing stuff on my phone. This app would be excellent if it also had the option of getting an additional device with it so I wouldn’t have to bring my phone to bed with me to use it.

i’ve been using for a while now as my iphone alarm no longer makes any noise.. but i am happy ive found an app like this all together. it uses peaceful harmonies to wake you up rather than the loud disruptive alarms and creates a sense of peace waking up. It has so many different modes, sleep tracking and settings to use which have been great all together this is one of the greatest apps! i highly recommend :)
Flawed.
This is a good app, but it seems a major flaw surely is easily solvable. Forgetting to swipe on wake up wipes all the nights data.
I can’t believe it’s free
I have a hard time waking up in the morning and this alarm has replaced one that I have used for several years straight. I couldn’t believe how good it was when I tried it out the first few nights. I wake up feeling fresher, and the app is such an easy one to use. It’s a great help and I highly recommend it.

Helped me get out of my sleeping slump
It was great from the start, I had been falling asleep at 1am and waking up at noon. But from the very first night I used it, I woke up exactly at 6am.
Extrem hoher Akkuverbrauch
An sich funktioniert die App gut, sie weckt mich in einer Leichtschlafphase und die Option leichtes Aufwachen finde ich auch sehr hilfreich. Leider ist es jetzt schon mehrfach vorgekommen, dass trotz 100 % Aufladung nach 8-9 Stunden der Akku auf circa 1-5% geschrumpft ist, obwohl noch nicht einmal Tonaufnahmen eingeschaltet sind. Leider kann ich dadurch die App nicht verwenden, weil die Gefahr besteht, dass mein Handy in der Nacht leer wird und ich morgens keinen Wecker habe!

New Version Is Glitchy
They did an update on the app, added a few things, but since then my alarm has had a mind of its own; changing the alarm sound, volume, and bypassing the gentle wake. I’ve tried deleting and reloading but it didn’t work. Hopefully they fix it, as I used to love this app.
Great app with one minor drawback.
I love this app and it truly is one of the best sleep apps I have used so far. The only thing lacking in this app ( and the reason I rated this 4 out of 5 ) would be the option for vibration for the alarm. I am hard of hearing and completely deaf in one ear. I am a side sleeper and sometimes I am asleep on a side where I cannot hear the alarm. The vibration would be excellent to wake up someone like me or even someone that is a super heavy sleeper. I do hope the developers see this and I look forward to this being a new addition in an update soon. * Edit to add that I wish there was a way for it to not be so easy to toggle AM/PM on the alarm. I have accidentally toggled PM for an alarm and not been woken up at my target time which is incredible frustrating!! I would pay for these features. The app is so good and those small details would make it 10/10. Please read this app developers. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
The New Update (4.0.7) causing trouble
I’ve been using Sleepwave for a couple of years now, and all its functions. Up until recently I’ve been very happy with everything. The new Update, however, is causing a lot of trouble, like e.g.: - It requires full audio volume for the sleep mode and alarm (even though it’s set to “Quiet, non-audible”/“low”), meaning the alarm is really loud. - When the alarm is triggered, you CANNOT lower the volume, because the pop-up “Volume too low” forces to return to the full volume, before you can disable the alarm (Unfortunate, if somebody else is around that likes to sleep longer than me). - Lastly, since the new update the categories, that sounds during the night are categorized in, are all over the place and often enough do not fit at all. I’ll happily return to my previous 5-Star-Review, but this currently really sets me off. Why release an untested Update or, at the very least, change functionalities so much in an Update?
Just Not for Me
I really wanted to use this app, because I don’t like wearing a watch to sleep to track it, and this was a good option, along with the soft wake up alarms. Except that I can’t use a bluetooth speaker or earbuds or use another app to fall asleep to. Spending the money to find this out was a bit disappointing. Luckily, there was a sale for the sub and I just won’t renew.

This app cured my really bad sleep inertia with their smart wake up buffer time of an hour, I wake up feeling normal again & I feel so much gratitude to the creators of this app, I have my life back
Last version is a total failure
Have used App for nearly 4 years but last upgrade a week ago has onset 6h 35m and no registered sleep 0m. Please fix it asap!

High pitch bug?
Terrible high pitch frequency emits from my phone’s speaker (iPhone 14) when I turn on the alarm. I like this app and would buy the subscription again if I didn’t have to hear high pitch ringing throughout the night when the frequency hits my ear a certain way

I use this other my normal alarm, IPhone alarm it helps a lot. Only thing is, the app drains your battery quite quickly.
This app helps me be less tired
Sleepwave is the only app I found that allows me to wake up at the right time in my sleep cycle (and track my sleep) for free! I use it every day during the week and love it.

Worked for years, then stopped
I used this app for years and really liked all the features. But all of a sudden, the alarm stopped working. I did nothing different than what I had been doing for years. I tried everything to fix it. I even deleted the app and redownloaded it (which deleted all of my data from over the years 😭). I tried emailing them for help and eventually they stopped answering me. I don’t know what else to do. I truly did love the app but it just started to get unreliable and cost too much to not work. I had to move to a different app.
This is great!
When I set an alarm for a desired time, I manage to wake up at exactly that time! And there is no extra costs for this as well. All basic features are free! That’s the exact best part of this app! I have been searching for THE app to help me track and wake up properly for months after months, and this is the one!

Great way to fall asleep!
Until I started using Sleepwave I didn't realize how amazing it is to fall asleep with some white or pink noise. The selection of sounds is great, it fades out after a set time, and I feel like it makes me sleep more deeply. The wakeup sounds are gentle and pleasant! I love that you can use it to nap too, by setting the timer function. This is a really welcome app!
Fade in doesn’t work anymore
The whole reason I got this app is because I hate how traditional alarms just jolt you awake. For some reason Sleepwave does the same thing now whether you have fade in on or off. Used to be the best alarm. Now it’s just like any other.

I’m fascinated learning about myself while I sleep. The app is easy to use and user friendly.
Drained my battery entirely - even when charging!!!
I don’t know why this app is so highly rated. If your device isn’t on charge, it will lose power overnight, so the alarm doesn’t go off. Put my device on charge overnight, which was at 100% battery when I went to bed. Woke up to find it had been drained to 25% WHILST charging. Do NOT recommend.
Good but a bug problem
With the recent update, I can no longer open the app. It closes every time I try to open the app.
Used to be perfect
I was one of the first people to ever download this, so early that they gave me a year premium for free. It was amazing! However, for the last year it takes about 5 mins to even load up and these days working full time I’m too tired to even wait so just use apple. Hate to say this but not worth it.
Sometimes functional
App takes longer and longer to open every single night. It’s as though it has to load every single session I’ve ever done. Every once in a while, something strange will happen and it will simply fail to record anything and report a night of 0h.
offers way more than what i came for
i downloaded this app just for the gentle alarm, but the nightly meditations and breathing practices are thoughtful and well-made. fantastic app!! i’ve recommended it to more than a few friends <3
Tracking doesn’t work
Last night it says I was awake for 8 minutes, but in the exact same time period there are three recordings of me merrily snoring. And later that night I got OUT OF BED for 3 minutes and it recorded me talking - yet it thinks I’m asleep! I’m three nights into my free trial and have concluded that the sleep tracking is useless and therefore how can the smart alarm function as advertised.
Well rounded app
As always, a lot of payable locked features with regular pushes to purchase them, but overall the best free sleeping engine I found, coupled by Apple Health integration.
Irritating
Oftentimes gets stuck syncing data from watch to phone and when this happens the alarm can't be set. It's a shame since this would otherwise be a great smart alarm app for the Apple watch if not for this issue.
It is good but need some improvement
I feel like when we don’t buy like a membership like we have to have like nothing for us and cause I’m like 13 I have like no money it’s just it’s kind of sucks cause I can’t have something like in the background like to sleep. I have to have a membership in it. Kind of sucks. I don’t want a free trial cause I have to pay for that
Beneficial
A very helpful app. I wake up more rested and alert. It’s cool to hear the sounds you make throughout the night lol. After using it for a couple weeks, now I find myself waking up within the window and waiting for the alarm to go off. The game is confusing and the meditation isn’t helpful to me but I like that they make it a holistic app. Would highly recommend.
Always adjusts volume
The app will not save my adjusted volume setting. It will always reset to way too loud no matter what I do.
Reliable, only one thing…
Everything I said a couple years ago (below) is still true. The only glitch is that the sound portion of the night sometimes doesn’t work. It’s not that there’s no sound- w my snoring and the dog always moving, there are always sounds for sure. The app does have microphone access. I like that feature for various reasons. I had been using another Zen-type alarm for years which was wonderful- except after I quit my awful, anxiety-inducing corporate job, every time it went off all I could feel was flight-or-fight. The alarm had conditioned me to be panic mode. Now that I’m working for myself, at home, I needed a fresh start. This goes above what my previous alarm did! A pre-wake up sound (great idea!) and then I paid for the extra features of selecting just the perfect “alarm” sound. I’m so so happy bc I wake up very slowly and need time to orient myself to another day of living. And I cannot deal w. jolting or loud alarms. This is my perfect Zen wake-up call. Thank you, creators of this!
I really wanted to love it, but…
On the surface this app is everything I’ve been looking for in a sleep app. However, the Apple Watch app is unreliable. Most of the time I can’t even get it to sync without uninstalling and reinstalling the watch app, and once my alarm did not even go off at all. It’s not worth the risk of oversleeping. I guess I’m back to the default Apple sleep app.
I’ve used it for 375 consistently
Yeah it’s good. A bug they still need to fix like when you start the app it takes 4/5minutes until you can actually use it. (It’s just frozen) You used to be able to record your nighttime noises but that’s an extra cost now (shock) and just before that changed it didn’t work properly anyway. The noises are cool and works well for slow waking up. And the noises for sleeping are cool, same for the alarm noises, however there’s a limited amount. The app is decent but probably isn’t worth how much it is tbh, I just use it because I can’t find anything else yet that is slow waking up. Thanks!

Inconsistent, alarm will sometimes switch itself off in the middle of the night for some bizarre reason. Use a different app, unless you like waking up later than anticipated!

Honestly the best way to wake up. Slowly wakes you up out of your sleep instead of blaringly like traditional alarms. Helpful to see your sleeping and snoring patterns. I really love the inspiration, trivia and fun facts you gets as well. My suggestion is to make them more pronounced because I missed them the first few times using the app. Otherwise, try it! It’s great. Good job team

When I first downloaded the app it was great! You could view your different sleep cycles for free and now it shows you the time you slept for, and if you want to see the different sleep cycles throughout the night, you have to pay for it
