I was thinking clean simple app designs were getting to be a lost art through hurry up and develop, Vs slow down and plan it out. Lively delivers a clean simple well done app. Bravo to the planning team, and the developers, actually this is so good perhaps they are the same people
Nope
No longer works.
Great except for 1 issue
Had no problems with this app for years. However I got a new phone with iOS 16. Installed the app. Now inside the app the GIF preview only plays once. Doesn’t matter if Reverse or Back-And-Forth is checked off — it plays the preview once, then plays again and stops 1/4 the way through it. Trimming the GIF is still no issue, and it’ll play it fine while scrubbing, but still won’t play a whole preview again.
Random issue
Changes colour so it’s discoloured when saved as a gif or still frame but the colour is retained for the movie? Needs sorting but other than that normally 5/5 for saving Live Photos with retained quality
Love the idea and simplicity but NEEDS updates bad
Love this idea I even purchased to remove the watermark but then of course I started having major issues. Long lags when loading photos. Choosing photos and then saying “oops! error. please try again” but as many times as i try it doesn’t work. Selecting photos is also super buggy. Saw the last update was a year ago and wish I had seen that before buying to remove the watermark.

Abandonware
Hasn’t been updated in two years. App crashes if you load a Live Photo into the GIF maker—even from the long press shortcut from the Home Screen.
Sound Please
I would like it to have the option to keep the original sound as in the moment is fully realized with sound. Like the app but just wanted to make this request.
No longer needed. Use Shortcuts instead.
This is a great app, but there’s no a shortcut that does this. Go to Shortcuts and search for “Make GIF.” Add the shortcut and turn on “Show in Share Sheet.” Then you can use the share button to run the shortcut from Photos. Enjoy!
Great until it stopped working
I loved this, I even paid for it. Then suddenly it stopped working properly. The app won’t access my main camera roll anymore. Only favourites & recents and then only the Live Photo’s dated prior to 3 of 4 weeks or so ago. Very strange. I’ve tried updating to the latest version & rebooting my phone. No luck. Really disappointing as it was a great little gif maker prior to this but I can only make gifs out of old photos now....🙁🙁🙁
Watermark.
Got a the new iPhone went to make a gif and now there is a giant watermark.... never had one before. Annoying.

The app will not access all of one’s photos. You are limited to what the program decides.
Export is not as advertised
Why do you state that one is able to export the gif or movie to FB, Instagram, etc., when, in fact, it does not go thru as a gif or movie to these sites or any type of sharing site? Love the pics it makes, but they are useless if you can’t share them.

Very useful!
Works great! I use it turn Live Photos into gifs for Discord and android friends. Very quick and handy. The dev team seems very responsive as well. Minor bug: When exporting a movie the preview plays in reverse in the app, but it exports the clip fine. Doesn’t do this when exporting gifs. No other issues.
No longer updated and doesn’t work with current IOS
App just shows a blank screen until in crashes. Looks like no updates in over a year.
Stopped loading pics
I really love using this app. But recently it stopped loading pics. It will not connect to my photos anymore. Is there a limit to how many pictures you can convert before you are forced to buy the app?
Doesn’t export anywhere
Works well, but gifs and movie output wont export to google drive, email, or Facebook, unless I’m missing something. No way to ask the developers.

Bad app
It doesn’t give me all my pictures that I selected access to all photos. It’s a waste of time. It’s not good. Don’t get this app you will be disappointed in the lack of work that this creator made.
Great App but...
Recently in the App when u open Live Photo’s as a Movie, the movie plays backwards and there is no way to change this. If you open as a GIF it plays normally. Can u help please.

I really enjoyed this app, but it no longer works on the latest IOS. Super bummed. I’ll keep it in my phone for a few more months to see if they fix the issues.

Click export GIF, then save, then delete app
Click export GIF, then save, then delete app After realizing the app serves no purpose and does nothing. If the file is saved certainly not saved to any place that can be accessed. No folder in files. Essentially the save button does nothing except tell you the app is useless and needs to be deleted. By the way, To save your file to a folder you need to click share. The new definition of the word Intuitive is “&$@# you!”.
Works pretty great
It does the job in a pinch and is quick and easy to work with. I wish it had image stabilization and higher export quality.
Will not gif still photos
They should have unequivocally stated that it applies only to ‘live photos”. Wouldn’t have bought had I realized otherwise. Better still, the developers can ‘version’ that improvement. Creating gif i or mp4 can be done natively within the iOs, e.g. photo > edit
Needs work to justify its existence
Nice app, with the best thing about it being that it puts options for video and GIF export directly within the native ‘Photos’ app. Also has some more advanced GIF options than similar apps. however, it limits GIF export resolution to a max of 500px on the long side, where as free apps like LP allow much higher res and produce notably better quality. As those apps also have video export and iOS now has the native ability to extract specific moments as stills, it makes me wonder if Lively has enough to make a premium purchase worthwhile. If the GIF quality was better then having integration with the Photos app would definitely swing it (especially if we could access settings from there too. Not sure if this is possible), but I’ll take a few extra seconds and open a second app for the improved quality. As it is, it’s only the integration with Photos for converting Live Photos to video that means I’m keeping it.
Simple
So flat out easy to use and produces great results, what more could you ask for.
Wish my photos didn’t immediately blur out
Great app easy to use EXCEPT my photos are all grainy once I move them to gif. Forwards or backs it’s very frustrating
Landscape gifs
This app is amazing and everything I’m looking for except that if I take photos with my phone on it’s side, it won’t import them as landscapes when they’re gifs. They end up being in portrait and this makes the image itself rotated on its side, and I can’t edit this anywhere I’ve found.
Disappointed!!
I bought this app to post a cute gif on Instagram. I made the gif, posted from Lively, got a static image. So sorry I spent the money.
Many photos missing...
Live Photos are very frustrating with no in-built feature to edit them and pick the best frame. This app solves this problem except for two fundamental flaws. 1) poor quality of exported still, but, most importantly, 2) it doesn't give you access to lots of love photos. I have over 1000 on my phone but can only access 261, including many recent ones so it's pot luck if you can edit the live photo you wanted to. Shame, as otherwise a great app.

Turns Live Photos into a short animation, and offers s couple of neat editing tools, but your export options are very limited. Tumblr works, Twitter doesn't and Facebook won't even try.

I downloaded this app twice and when I open it, there is a blank white screen - nothing.

Nice app & I really like the fact I can now save my Live Photo’s as mini videos with sound, or save as GIF’s. Only reason I gave 4 stars is because I would love to see an update that saves as full resolution files...
how do I delete a project from the app
I stopped using the Lively app, because I cannot find a way to delete projects from the app. What if I change my mind about a picture I have uploaded, and I want to remove it? As well, I cannot afford the storage space on my phone, for projects that cannot be deleted. It seems strange, I have never used an app in which the app creator keeps my private photos stored inside their app “forever” with no option for me to delete. So more likely, maybe it is just that I am not seeing the “delete project” option. Thanks if there is an answer.

I don't actually have the option to purchase the ability to remove the watermark. Real shame as the app seems to be lovely.

Thank you for making a great app that is simple to use and makes good GIFs! I use this on my iPhone and can easily transfer the GIFs to my Macbook. Prior to this, I had tried other GIF apps that sucked, produced liw-quality GIFs, and added proprietary watermarks or cah-cah. I have grown to love this app and its simplicity. Thank you.
Don’t bother
I wanted to post a boomerang Live Photo on Instagram, spent the $5 to get rid of the watermark, and I still wasn’t able to post it on Instagram as the boomerang photo. Waste of $5!
Does the job!
Great app, I’m amazed that it not only converts into GIFs, but videos with sound as well! Only downside is the comparatively low resolution
Poor quality
The set up of the app was designed well, but I was a little disappointed with the image quality. The video came out very pixelated and I probably won’t post any of the ones I converted.
