A fairly good app to edit photos however it would be great if color editing features were stronger and more intense.
What Happened?
I bought MuseCam back in June 2022, the last update removed the ability to edit Hue, Saturation, Luminance by color. Now it’s asking me for a subscription to use those features.

Is this app going to get an update? I paid for the service months ago, used it for awhile, and now I can no longer load the app. Immediately crashes.
Favorite app
Great manual mode, UI and editing features. Unfortunately with 3d touch enable I can't use this app.The reason is everytime I touch the screen it takes a photo. Many of them.There no option to remove the touch capture. So I have to disable 3d touch everyone I use it. Hopefully they fix it in the future. It dererve a 5 stars.
Amazing garbage.
The manual features are great I have to say and the ability of shooting RAW is a game changer for people who like to manually edit their pictures in Lightroom or Capture One or wherever. Now that that’s out of the way I want to address the messy part. It’s 2021 and there have been iPhones with dual camera (wide angle and portrait (and in pro models an additional telephoto)) lenses/camera modules for a good two or so years now. So why on earth can we still only use the main camera in the app? Is it too much to ask for the option to swap between “lenses”? And secondly the file browser is a mess. Hardly navigatable and while feature packed, far from intuitive. There is no separation between “library and develop” interfaces. It’s crammed, everything is in one place but not neat or tidy. I would love to get a refund as I’ve used it for 15 minutes max but wont ever touch it again. Buy a cheeseburger from this money instead

Had overlooked this app but now remember why I downloaded it . Super easy to use , love being able to adjust tint so quickly and precisely . Will be using a lot more.
Worked great, then didn’t work at all
Loved the app. Didn’t use it frequently but loved it when I did use it. Tried to use it all day today, absolutely nothing. Constant crashing. Hopefully it’s fixed. It’s a 5 star app when it is functioning, a nonexistent star rating when it doesn’t work (obviously, it doesn’t work).
Great app
It is a very convenient way to process RAW files on the go. I would give it 5 stars... unfortunately when using on my iPad crashes every time... I hope developer fixes that issue 🙏🏻😊

My app won’t stop crashing I’ve had to delete and re-download it several times over the last few weeks. The only reason I put the effort in, is because other than that, it’s the best editing app I’ve found!

Not great on iPhone 12 Pro
The reviews for the app are not unfair. It takes fair photos and the editor is okay. What really isn’t is the UI for the camera on an iPhone 12 Pro. The viewfinder is top of screen aligned meaning you lose sight over anything in the notch. And then the viewfinder only takes up about top 2/3 of screen meaning you are left with an enormous grey blank space with the shutter release button. Same version on iPhone X looks a lot better and feels more usable. Not an ideal situation for an app supposedly updated to cater for the 12s
Good app but buggy
I like the app but rarely use the additional features that I paid for. I hope the bug that causes the app to close immediately upon opening is resolved soon. The last update killed my ability to use what I paid for. April 15, 2019 and the app is doing the same thing.

Nothing is working
When I take a photo, the photo doesn’t pop up and isn’t saved. I can’t open any photos, either. I tried to hit “help and support” but that wouldn’t work either. What gives? I’m really hoping this gets sorted out, because it looks like a cool editing app...

from 5 stars to 2 stars w/ iOS
Used to adore this app until I got an iPhone with Live Photo / portrait mode / iOS editing capabilities; MuseCam throws away all the edits you make. Would rather have apple’s portrait mode and other features than muse cam but I wish it wasn’t an either/or. @Developers please fix!

The app is brilliant in terms of functionality, unfortunately, just after enabling the open to camera preference, I’m unable to open the app due to crashes. Please eradicate this bug in an update as soon as possible.

Scummy money grab
Paid $4 for this thinking it would be better than all the alternative free apps that nickel and dime you with in app purchases. Should have known better. Can’t even use the basic pack of presets without a social media follow, so stupid. Do yourself a favor and use one of the free apps like Darkroom or Snapseed

Needs to stop reverting images
This is an OK app, nothing special over other apps. I don't use it because every time I open a photo it ignores any cropping or work I've done prior to opening that photo in MuseCam and automatically reverts to the original image. Sorry but I do not like that. It's like starting to work on the image all over again. I imagine that there should be some illogical logic behind it, but the app should not disregard prior changes to the image, it should be the choice of the user. I look around the app to see if there was a setting I could switch to prevent it from doing this, but no luck. For that reason I almost never use this app. To top it off I purchased some presets and bundles and they are not loading up. I deleted the app and reinstalled it and restored purchases, the wheel just keeps turning but nothing happens.

I should not post a support issue here. People do that all the time and it bothers me that they do. We do reviews here, not support requests. In principle, that is. MuseCam, however, still lacks a functioning web presence. It has a hidden contact page with a claim that they want to hear from you but they provide no way to do so. The whole site seems to be an afterthought, with broken links/functions and undeleted boilerplate pages from whatever template they used. I include this by way of saying that users should not expect much help if something does not work in the app. So the support alert/request goes as follows. I had downloaded the basic app some time back, but I did not do much with it until this morning. I clicked the intrusive box to try before buying the four-dollar supplemental-function package and took a picture with intentional shortcomings to do some edits to a dark, shadowy photo. The camera interface is none too clear, relying - as many do - on sometimes-mysterious icons/glyphs (ciphers) to make adjustments. False fingering too easily prompts this manual camera to do what it wants with settings; I found myself undoing automated settings if I missed a slider or icon even by a little bit. Users should need to specify a desire to use autofocus, autoexposure, and the others rather than getting served a bunch of reset edits because of a stray touch. Yes, one glyph has an undo function, which is good. It should not be needed quite so much. All these sorts of things are minor. There are needless problems in the UI (I should say the editor is better in this regard than the camera), but I would not normally complain in public about these things. There is no contact information on the site, however, for feedback. Worse, when I got my photo looking better, I thought I would go ahead to do the “buy” the “try” box in the app introduced. The app is mostly good, and four dollars seemed to me not too awful a price. Thinking the box at the top of the screen would set me up with just the features I had used in my edits (I had included two that are offered as standalone add-ons), I clicked on the store icon from the bottom toolbar. This brought up the usual App Store box, which took my money. That done, MuseCam crashed. Okay, fine - I try the recent-apps window to restart. It crashes. I force it closed, closed the store, then reopened MuseCam. Crash. One more, which, predictably, ended the same way. I restart the pad. I open MuseCam. As before, I see the home screen and the app crashes. I am no longer amused. Paying for the upgrade has rendered the app useless. As I say, I liked it well enough to buy the separated functions, much as I object to this way of selling apps, I am resigned to it. This is the first time an IAP has tanked one of my apps. Sorry about the length and the support stuff, but maybe this gives some help somehow to someone.

Customer service is terrible
I use my phone with a clicker so I can get in the picture. The app doesn’t allow for that. Sent a message to the app developer and have not gotten a response in over a week. Might be a good app, but completely useless to me.
Good but broken
Might just be me but was working superb but now none of the filters are applying and editing has no effect either. Please fix!!
Quite simple
And that’s a good thing but it’s misleading when they advertise manual control. It’s not fully manual. It’s more like semi-manual. There’s no options to select shutter speeds of several seconds or more. Not even half a second. ISO speeds are manual and is useful only for creative shots. Once I find an iOS camera app that emulates manual aperture settings and long shutter speeds, I’ll rate it higher than two or three stars....or I’ll just use A n d roid.
No portrait mode?
The app seems to be completely missing any ability to work with portrait mode photos (depth-of-field). Opening a portrait mode photo flattens the image. The filters are beautiful and the app is slick, but with no ability to take or even edit portrait mode photos - I can’t really make a good use of it. Tried googling it, looking at support and the website - couldn’t see anything about it. Disappointed. Beautiful, slick and smart app. Missing a major feature for me.

Everytime I try to use MuseCam it minimizes after lass than a second. I bring it back to the front and it minimizes again. It's 100% unusable, at least in my case.

This app sounded pretty cool at first but when I got onto the app all I could do was increase/decrease saturation and lighting, and put a few black and white filters on pictures here and there. And other thing you'd have to pay for. I mean I feel like this is the exact same thing you can do on your camera roll on your iPhone...kinda disappointed.

Used to be great but now crashes on launch
When I first started using Musecam it was impressively great. It really pushed the iPhone’s camera to its known limits and I regularly found myself using it to take photos. Over the past few months however, it became increasingly unstable on my iPhone 6 running iOS 11.4.1 and at this point it just continuously keeps crashing on launch. I just went ahead and removed it from my phone because it became completely useless. From other reviewers I’ve seen who are experiencing the same exact problem, I see no point even trying to contact the dev’s as they’ve made it nearly impossible to reach them and at this point I know they are aware of this problem but haven’t even tried to fix it. If they ever get around to patching it and making it usable again I’ll redownload it and rewrite my review.

My favorite editing app
My all time favorite photo editing app! I used vsco for over 2 years and then about 6 months ago I said goodbye to vsco and tried MuseCam out and the was the best choice I ever made !! The filters are by far better and you can even get more for a couple bucks so worth it ! !
Don’t bother....
Downloaded it, tried to use it, and most of the features in the tool bar required me to purchase it to use. I could make it black and white with no problem though🙄. But I can do THAT with EVERY OTHER PHOTO APP ON THE PLANET. Unless you’re wanting to spend money, go get another app.
