Great system
I’ve been needing to update my vinyl catalog for a while. I had been using an excel spreadsheet, but I knew there had to be better. And this is it! I tried Discogs, but found it a little difficult. This app makes cataloging incredibly easy either by scanning a barcode or quickly searching online. It pulls in all the info on the album. You can then easily search by artist, genre, song. Well worth the one time $10!!!
Not very useful
I had hoped to catalog my library of 1500 CDs and loaded a few, foolishly paid for it then found it can’t scan certain barcodes making the catalog infinitely harder to do. Then I found that it doesn’t sync between an iPad and an iPhone like Kindle syncs books. You have to do it through iCloud but that didn’t work for me. I regret purchasing this app.
Great app for catalogs
This app has it all, year, location, songs on the album.. you name it! The process to catalog is very easy and fast. And a great price!
Cannot have more then 50 cds in it
Why can’t you have more then 50 vinyls or cd in,i have so much cd and you won’t let me have more then 50,I probably have 75 and you won’t let me have all of them on the app,it is not fair

Simple and perfect
Was looking for something simply to keep a catalogue of music for easy reference when I’m out shopping so I can avoid purchasing duplicates. I did not need an app to try and value my collection, I just want an easily accessible list. This is shareable via the cloud and you can export to CSV, PDF, and more. Well worth the $10 price tag.

i paid 10$ for a worthless app i try import dicogs collecton. otsnot working. after 20 hours uploading a simple csv file. nothing happens. want my money backk
Sehr gute App
Endlich Übersicht in meinen Schallplatten. Wünschenswert wäre noch eine Erkennung der Seriennummer der Schallplatte und nicht nur des Barcodes, da dieser bei den meisten alten Schallplatten nicht existiert. Außerdem wäre es auch schön, wenn man die Schallplatten nicht nur nach dem Vornamen, sondern auch nach dem Nachnamen des Künstlers sortieren könnte.

Need more improvement
Too heavy of a dependency on Discogs. There data is not accurate and missing a lot of albums. They need to add more sources for lookups. They also need to add the ability to get album covers locally from places other than photo library. Syncing is terrible between devices. You have to wipe data from one device to get it to sync and then that device requires a restart.
Best way to document your music
I have a ton of LPs, 45s and CDs and I’m able to keep these in order with my own album art with their easy scanner. I paid the $10 unlimited plan because the first 50 was so easy. Other apps wanted $10 for a year and weren’t even this good. The search is great and if your stuff has any barcodes it comes up instantly. I can even send a PDF list to my friends. It also comes in handy when I’m at antique stores so I don’t get something I already have. It’s saved me 3 times already. Keep up the good work!
I have to pay?
Great for anyone who has a record collection of under 50 LP’s… after that; they want money… horrible. Just use Discogs; it’s a free app and it does the same thing!
Super aber nicht perfekt
Ich finde, es ist eine günstige Variante seiner Schallplatten zu archivieren. Leider fehlen mir ein paar Punkte, Mir fehlt leider die Bewertung der Qualität vom Cover und der Qualität der Scheibe als vorangestelltes Bewertungssystem. Leider geht das Programm auch nicht mit dem iPad zu synchronisieren aber sonst ist es funktionell und für mich, erst recht für den Preis brauchbar und nutzbar

App will not scan multiple albums and save on iphone. Have to use iPad and scan individually.
Best app ever
Best app I never knew I needed. Easy to use. Pro is only a one time fee of 9.99 and worth it. Now I won’t buy duplicates because I have my catalog with me always.

Needs to have only one app. They have this one, where you can upgrade to the pro features and the other one, Music Buddy Pro. So if you don’t realize you already bought the paid app and upgrade to the pro features on this one, Apple won’t refund you for accidentally buying the upgrade. I want my money back. Or they should connect both apps so if you go to purchase the upgrade it tells you that you already have music buddy pro.
Good, but could use disks
I’ve been using this app for a while and have enjoyed it, but can we please please have disks in the tracks section? And properly numbered tracks? It would make it a lot better

This is exactly what you need to organize your physical media. Super flexible and really easy to use. So impressed with what it can do.

Limited use. After spending an hour to enter cd’s you get a message that you have reached the limit. You must pay. Should have made that clear first. I don’t recommend

imperfect
inevitably where there's an update, one of my systems will return “sync disabled”, requiring me to re-enable it and then wait for my library to sync again. quite frustrating. at the very least, it could remember which service i had selected previously instead of forcing me to choose one again. also, a proper Mac version would also be welcome, rather than the iPad app running in Mac OS. definitely works and is better than nothing, but having a proper Mac UI would be a delight. it's also frustrating when it comes to adding albums. about 5% of the time, an album won't be in whatever database Music Buddy uses, even fairly common stuff. it happens often enough to be a pain. it'd be great if we could then submit albums we enter manually to that database to help others avoid the same issue. and entering albums manually could be expedited if there was a native Mac version. just a thought. but it's relatively straightforward to use, if a bit clunky here and there, and has helped me avoid buying dupes more than once.
Great so far
It's basically exactly what I was looking for - it’s really easy and simple to use. Though I’d love an option to heart your favorite songs from albums, or connect a email account to it.
Nice and Easy, BUT……..
The application is nice, the appearance is good, you get to scanning and then……you hit the limit, saw nothing in the documentation about a limit and then you have to upgrade $$$$s. As such, back to an excel spread sheet.
Company very responsive
I’ve been evaluating collection apps for various items for about two months. I was ready to buy the iCollect package and I sent them a question about the licensing. They never responded. I was looking at a movie collection app from BluRay dot com and sent them a question. They never answered. I sent kimiko a question about how their products work and they answered me within 24 hours. I sent them a feature suggestion and they responded within 24 hours. I started actually using MusicBuddy and had an issue with sorting. They got back to me the next day and when I responded that I wasn’t able to do what they suggested they replied within a couple of hours with more detailed instructions that got me what I needed. I’ve knocked off a star because I don’t find their apps quite as agile or full-featured as some others I’ve used but they are solid apps and have some great features - even some that other apps don’t have.
clunky, annoying sync issue
on the iPhone and iPad, the UI works. on the Mac… less so. but my biggest issue is with the sync function. if i update the app on my iStuff but the app is open on my MacBook (as happened this morning), after updating on my MacBook, it disables the sync and completely forgets my sync settings. then i have to go through the process of re-syncing, which can take a fair bit of time as it re-checks my library. it sure would be nice if having a mis-match in the app version didn't cause an error like this. at least it doesn't corrupt the library?
Indispensable for Vinyl and Cd Collectors
This app is essential for anyone who digs crates as well as making sure you keep proper track of your collection. I have over 4000 pieces and when you are out finding new pieces for you collection this allows you to check if this is in your collection. The tagging allows for adding special tags such as autographed or damaged sleeve etc. I can not imagine being able to search around the world without this app. It pulls data from Discogs and allows you to search information that is not essential for every day needs.

Movie buddy works great so I thought I’d try this but every search return no results for some reason?
Managing your Vinyl/CD collections
The MusicBuddy App makes it soooo easy to catalogue your music, for me there is only one thing that would make easier to use and that is to be able to take a pic of the cover and the App would find it!🍻

Pas assez efficace
Ne trouve pas facilement certains titres très populaires. Également difficile de savoir quel cd sont en double lors du scan. Ne classe pas avec le nom de famille de l’artiste.
Super Tool für Sammler
Die App ist außerordentlich hilfreich, um seine CD-/ Vinyl-Sammlung übersichtlich zu sortieren. Da hat jemand wirklich nachgedacht ! Auch die integrierte Suchfunktion ist phantastisch ! Man kann nicht nur nach Interpreten, Titeln o.ä. suchen, sondern sogar nach Schlagwörtern einzelner Stücke. 👍👍👍 Warum ein Stern Abzug ? Es gibt eine ganze Reihe von ( älteren ) CD‘s oder Schallplatten, die keinen Barcode haben. Bei diesen Tonträgern muß man dann manuell suchen. Das ist nicht weiter tragisch. Was extrem aufhält, ist die manuelle Eingabe SÄMTLICHER Bereiche, u.a. die einzelnen Tracks. Trotz allem: Die Preis für die Pro-Version ist gut investiert !

Il prodotto è ottimo e velocissimo, ha una sola pecca non riesce a mettere in ordine i dischi per artista ed anno di uscita contemppraneamente a mio parere è un aggiornamento che andrebbe fatto per creare una migliore gestione nel posizionamento fisico dei dischi

Does all that’s required
I’ve tried several other recorded media apps and this one is the best for me. Intuitive, accurate and, most importantly, allows for the database to be backed up!
SO GOOD
This app is the best of its kind I have found. I love how easy it is to add different albums and it gives you so many options of how you want it to displayed. As someone who is very strong about aesthetic and neatness, I love that you can change the photo used for an album without making a whole new entry. I also love that it is only a ONE TIME purchase of. $5 to get all the pro features. If you need an app to organize your albums this is the one.
Ganz nett
Wer klassische Musik liebt, wird nicht froh werden, denn Alben mit Werken verschiedener Komponisten lassen sich nicht danach sortieren oder suchen. Dass hilft dann weder im Geschäft noch im Regal, wenn man nach einem Werk eines Komponisten sucht. Schade eigentlich.
Alphabet scroll bar
I wish it had an alphabetical letter scroll bar. Paging through 400 plus albums to get to the end of the alphabet gets tiring. Like on phone contact list you can click on a letter, then it takes you to names beginning with that letter. Would be a nice upgrade.
Not impressed
Does not find any of my music when I scan the barcode or do an online search by title, artist or barcode.

Bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Programm! Ich habe viele CD‘s und LP‘s ca 1500, die ich aus von CLZ MUSIC importiert habe. Leider wurde vieles nicht übernommen. Es wäre sehr schön wenn die Online Aktualisierung immer zur Verfügung stehen würde, so wie beim Cover. Also auch bei importieren Alben was zur Zeit nicht ist. Macht weiter so! Gruß Hans-Jörg
