What they complain about

- Hard to find current news stories
Love the e-newspaper version
I read the e-newspaper version every day. It’s my favorite way to read the news
Can’t login & Apple subscription never works
The log-in window rarely loads so that I can login and access subscriber content. That, and I paid for an annual subscription via Apple in March and have yet been able to activate it in the app so I’ve paid for a year of nothing.
Projo
The worst!
What?
What good is an app? If you can’t manage your subscription through it? That has to be done through the website. Subscription management is also flawed in that. I renewed my payment method and it didn’t go through.
Fix Algorithm For Stories From Second Paper
Having access to a second paper is nice. I get the ProJo and Newport Daily News, but the Newport stories are just a repeat of the Providence ones. The algorithm should select only stories unique to the Newport paper, including town and restaurant news. And please stop with the animated gifs. I’m fine with seeing ads, and I’d even consider paying for ad free, but the moving ads make me switch away from the app.
Keep up the great work of information
Use this as my source for daily news. Great job. This Presidency Magazine is top notch. Info I never knew.
Totally disfunctional
The app recognizes my name, says hello Kevin but will not open and continually tries to get me to subscribe. Tried many avenues to resolve such as deleting app and reloading signing in signing out signing in nothing works. Just amazingly poor functionally inept app.
Great local paper
User friendly app, up to date, excellent writers. Appreciate local coverage of teams and restaurants.
Updated app
I was happy with the old app. This one is ok but slow to load
Providence journal regional RI newspaper
A good regional newspaper covering news statewide and local city news when appropriate. Also good coverage of State andLocal sports results and information. Good crosswords and cartoons. I strongly recommend the the journal to all residents.
Not at all
I preferred the old version with the newspaper layout. I never read the entire paper this way. Change it back,
Frustrated
Very disappointing.
Looks like a real newspaper
I like the. E because it has the feel of the original newspaper. However any chance of getting more up to date news and sports scores etc.
Enjoying
The Providence Journal is a very enjoyable read with the different sections of the paper. I enjoy the sports, local/world news
If only there was a way to show zero stars
I have been so frustrated with this app that I could scream (or curse)! It is clunky, not user friendly, my settings mean nothing, it is not seamless, nor is it intuitive. It is obvious the app designers haven’t a clue how users use the app or it wouldn’t be so clunky. A very expensive app to read my local newspaper.
Hometown paper
The enewspaper has everything I need at my fingertips. Typos aside it’s a good value and doesn’t waste paper!
Look forward to it
Love the sections. Especially the crosswords
ProJo online
Piece of garbage. Every morning I log on the same way @nd get different results. E newspaper is option on bottom of page and shows up blank. other options display
Very cool
Most of the time I love it
Switched to Paper Format
I used to hate the new Pro Jo app upgrade till I discovered the e-Newspaper option at the bottom right of the page where I could switch back to the regular paper format.
This new app is horrible!
The e-newspaper won’t load. Stories stay up for weeks at a time. It’s hard to find just what’s new.
Awful App
The app on my iPad is awful. When reading the journal it hops to another page or goes blank. Sometimes I cannot go back a page. Soooo annoying!!!
Shelby
Been reading it for 70 years
Horrible , go back to the old app!
Every few days I have to delete the app and reinstall it to even get the epaper to show up. When it does show up, it reacts so much more slowly than the old app. It is so frustrating. I like to read the Providence Journal, but I may just make due with the Boston Globe because this is getting so frustrating!
Solid eNewspaper
The PROJOE enewspaper has become a standby news provider of local, national and international news once again returning to its high standard of journalism. Welcome back to the seen of good morning news coverage.
No more eNewspaper
Since you changed the platform, I cannot open the eNewspaper that I enjoyed every morning. I have been a digital subscriber for years but in the last few days I cannot open it and the Refresh Purchase doesn’t work. So now I am paying for something I can’t access or am I expected to pay more for what I was already receiving. Plus the new platform is scattered and hard to follow. The “paper” showed headlines and stories in logical and prioritized format, but now, without a front page, I don’t know the most important news of the day.
ProJo
Well written newspaper covering national and local news fairly and unbiased.
The Providence Journal is very disappointing.
I’ve been reading the ProJo all of my adult life and enjoyed reading news covering local, national, and global, but this publication has consistently gone downhill. I honestly don’t need access to 200 publications! Really? I even have to thumb through the entire paper to find the obituaries. Why can’t they just list them in an index or table of contents! Please go back to the easy to read format that that most people enjoy!
Great information with facts and not nonsense.
Love the coverage of the state and national news including sports locally.
New format
The new format is awful! The same stories are repeated in multiple sections. Too many ads that look like stories. Difficult to find the current news articles. I will not read this format anymore. Why did you change it?
