As a magic key holder, the app is one of the essential tools we use in our family to see wait times, scan into the parks and mobile order food.

Forcing our little one to take a picture at the entrance and the rude staff was not appreciated. I don’t see the point of having pictures taken of each ticket holder - it’s not that serious.

Tedious with lighting pass
We were expecting a smoother process and the staff at the first ride wasn’t very helpful
Helpful at the park
The app is quite helpful at the park and the line times are fairly accurate. The reservation process in the app is cumbersome and switches which park you start at with like it has a mind of its own. I’ll bet it’s a trade-off being made with the way their marketing department makes everything overly complex. I can’t keep track of which lightning, fast, genie thing I am supposed to remember or how far in advance I can make different reservations for different things.

Disney forced an update and now the app doesn’t show my reservation for tomorrow. Test before you deploy! Why does it always forget my password? Why do I need to log in to check Downtown Disney restaurant availability?

Not user friendly
The app is a great idea but navigating through the whole thing is just not smooth or clear cut. The app can be so much better with the map, directions on how to get to a ride or area. I would assume that your tickets would be on a home page. No, it’s elsewhere. Create filters when you’re searching. If you find a ride, add more details such as if it is virtual or an actual ride. Lots of changes can be made. You’re definitely not paying attention to what’s happing around you (not experiencing Disney) because your nose is in the app trying to figure out what is actually going on. Love the idea of the app. It needs a major overhaul. Test it on an employee that’s never been to Disney.

All it does is “spin” whenever I try to access any of my account.
Decent companion
Disneyland is an excellent companion app for any Disney fan visiting the parks. The interactive map and wait time estimates are incredibly useful, making it easy to plan your day. However, some features feel a bit incomplete or glitchy. Overall, with a few minor tweaks, this could be a truly indispensable tool for park-goers.
Ticketing for rides
App system is poor for international people that don’t have wifi. The old system from 2016 was better

We had real problems with the app not working properly and trying to find a Guest Relations person to assist. We were told about 4 different locations for a guest relations person in a plaid vest but they weren’t there. Finally, caught the train to the front entrance and Camala was very helpful getting the app to work. She also helped with a reservation for lunch at the River Belle Terrace and Fanatasia Show package that we wouldn’t have known about. Melanie at the River Belle Terrace was also fantastic. Disabled access
Very user friendly , makes it easy to navigate as a person with ADHD it is difficult to figure out apps but find this one easy. I am not intimidated by it. Clear and everything makes sense where it is supposed to go.

The App is great, but just the Ticket system was Brocken it seems. Had to go in line and purchase a ticket the „old fashioned“ way ;)

Too many rides are out for repairs, we are here from Australia and have been here all day only to find ride after ride being unavailable!
lightning passes on busy days
Is a lightning pass really useful on a busy day at Disney ,in my view not really the whole system is blocked up and when you enquire why the staff tell you its a busy day .

Doesn’t login
The app does not allow anything immediately after download, besides go through the first 3-4steps where you click through “Continue” to allow location access, Bluetooth access, etc. Then the app goes straight to settings. I close the app/settings, retry opening the app, only for it to cycle through the same 3-4 permissions steps.
Same ride - multiple closures in one day
Twice, in the same day, we lined up for a significant amount of time and moved partly into the Rise of the Resistance before it closed down and we had to leave via the back entrance. We were given lightening passes each time but after the second cancellation, we didn’t risk returning that day. Understand that these things happen but better compensation for lost time should be offered, especially after the second time.
Difficult to use & buggy
Not at all intuitive, UX design is poor and cluttered, even the park staff had trouble navigating through it. It also has some bugs where it wouldn’t allow us to navigate out of a food vendor despite providing the option (had to reset app and start again for each vendor).
Love the place
Hi really enjoyed the atmosphere and presentation of the park . Only complain is the difficulty accessing my genie pass. We haven’t been to Disney before so assumed that we would easily be able to access our lighting passes during the day. Only to realise that they need to be booked well in advance. We booked the haunted mansion at 12pm and become available at 10.30pm . Most rides we had to wait 3-4 hours to access our lighting passes . By which stage my daughter who suffers from severe epilepsy was exhausted. We can’t risk her having a seizure whilst waiting hours for rides , she can only manage 4-5 hours at a time and as we lined up for so many rides she got extremely tired . I know we probably should of done our homework, but instructions didnt seem very clear in my opinion , and we paid a lot of money only to use two lighting passes for our whole day . Felt like a big waste of money .
