AJ
Love the app it is very helpful, it needs a pin on messages so children calling the other parent can’t read adult messages. Or a child friendly call function. This will put the app at the top of the game for parenting apps
A disgraceful app which loses the recoding and then ignores you when you try to complain
This app is a waste of time, I paid for recordings which they lost, I complained and they said nothing they can do I asked to escalate this and no response I asked again and no response… that is the whole purpose of the app yet no technical team or customer service: I then logged a data breach and… nothing,no contact from anyone, this app is not fit for purpose do not waste your money as there is no back office , AppClose you should be ashamed.
More could be done
It is good but I still like more could be done to reduce conflict. Would be good if you could have an option set times on when the person can message or be able to turn off chat if needed without having to disconnect to reduce further arguing
Needs updating
Too often, this app does not let you know messages are waiting. The app needs to be useable for the chat feature on smart watches. It would be so much handier and better. Also the chat feature can load slow and make images hard to view.
Latest update
This latest update has messed things up on calendar entries, clipping text out, no creation dates, over lapping entries
Mr Joel Mercer
Very easy to set up and use
2 years and still the facetime don't work unless your on WiFi. Unless app
Useless for facetime
Eddy
Been happy with this app until it’s now not going to be free so unfortunately will not be using it anymore such a shame as found useful
Inconsistent notifications
I don’t get consistent notifications for messages - often I only see a message has been sent if I open the app and go into messages, and only then does it pull the new message through. This is obviously concerning given it is my only method of communication with my children’s father when he has them. I’ve contacted support repeatedly and am told to update my phone or the app but nothing changes.
Good but still needs some updates
It’s a decent app for UK users even though it was developed in the US. There are a few updates they should make to improve the app and fall in line with some of the basic features that any app should have nowadays. * Like the fact you can’t preview a message without going into the app and when you go into the app to view the message it never opens on the messaging tab so you always have to click onto the messaging tab and then into the message every. single. time! * If you get a notification on your phone such as a message alert it stays on your phone’s notification screen even if you click on the notification to take you into the app. The only way I’ve found to clear the notifications is to clear them each time I get them or at the end of every. single. day! - very annoying. * The calendar scheduling for shared care is based on US holidays and the shared care split doesn’t have as many options as there should be so there was no way for me to use the extended weekend along with a mid week overnight every other week as that option doesn’t exist. All in all, it felt like a decent app when it was free but now I’m expected to pay for this, I want it to make my life easier and the above points are quite annoying as I am using the app nearly every. single. day! To the developers, please kindly take my above comments onboard, I think these are simple fixes, most apps have this basic functionality and know your audience by considering country options for holidays and a wider choice of shared care splits. Thank you.
Jackpot
I finally found the one! This app had exactly what me and my ex needed. Easy to use, the calendars and schedules are really helpful, you can completely customise your visitation schedule and add in events such as school etc and choose what to share with your co parent. You can easily request date changes too! Thanks APPCLOSE!
No longer works
Support email won’t consistently answer so I’m in this loop of emailing and explaining, asked every question under the sun then nothing and back round again.
No screen rotation
No rotation on iPad? Weird and really annoying
Need to be able to overlap holidays with regular schedule
I have a regular schedule which is changed only during holidays in Australia. I can never overlap the holiday schedule into the existing and it’s annoying
The app use to be free of charge but became a paid subscription
Since it’s became a paid app I can’t say anything as there were many other apps and this one was chosen by me as it was free! I no longer need it but the colors should change as I have a traumatic memories and the color and design seem triggering a bad memories. I guess loads of people could have the same problem. Please change the theme design, why keep same orangey colors for years? But generally app helped a lot, so thanks.
Mr Benjamin Claridge
Thank you for using this App for connecting parents for the benefit of the children! It’s not for the Adults who cannot communicate, it’s to allow the children the benefit to spend time with their parent who they just love equally!! There just honest , intelligent and innocent little parties stuck in the middle of what really should not be so hard !! So thank you app for connecting us !
They missed the point !
So you download and use this for years to avoid conflict and have a safe space. Then they start to charge but do not make it clear both have to pay. The reason why many chose this app was to keep it simple. Main person subscribes the other is added. There are many other apps who provide a similar service and accept one subscription payer without having the other partner having to sign up and pay. I waited 14 days for a reply though their support even though I pay. Ridiculous. Avoid and get yourself headache free co parenting apps elsewhere. Clearly these guys have banked in on the millions of subscribers who are stuck
Was great but stopped working.
I’ve been using it for over a year and it’s been great at what it does, however a couple of days ago the “type a reply” box has vanished from the chat. Meaning I can receive and read messages but have no option to reply. I’ve checked for updates and all the usual stuff, I can’t find a solution. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Feel false
Messaging is easy. I found using the calendar very confusing. You only have 30 days free and then both parties have to have subscription
Needs CarPlay compatibility
Handy little app but CarPlay compatibility is very much needed
Love
Love this app. Only thing I don’t like is not being able to see the messages on my Lock Screen. Would love to see that in the future.
For use of co parenting
Rubbish and can’t cancel my subscription
Turned my phone off, and now my circle is gone.
I turned my phone off last night to avoid being harassed by my sons father, once I turned my phone on again I could no longer msg the co-parent. He can still send msgs to me but I have had to resend an invitation. Still no resolve. Even with deleting the app and redownloading it.
Not great
Would freeze a lot and show that a message was there to be read but the notification would never clear. No longer using it
Text size
If your goal is to create an easy experience for parents, why do you not adhere to the system text size? Furthermore, if implementing that API was too difficult, why not have your own?
I like this app
But ever since the update a couple of days ago the notifications aren’t coming through
No point.
Had been using this for quite some months after court. But now has a subscription on 8.99 a month which sadly some people can’t afford.
Some feedback
Altering the custody agreement is not always simple. Sometimes the override feature eliminates the whole calendar. Also, it does not match time zones correctly which is super frustrating! If I add in a time, in my local time zone PST, I expect it to translate to the other users time zone of EST! It always displays in the time zone it was uploaded as. Big miss.
Was free now paid
Not great as it was a free app, now it’s paid
Not great for non-Americans
I had high hopes for this app and initial it looks very good. At first this seems pretty simple to set up but after a while you realise it’s far from that. There isn’t even a tutorial and the holiday options are only set up for Americans. For example there is no bonfire night for UK residence for example, mothers/fathers days are the American dates these are just a few and there isn’t even birthday option! Now although you can create “custom” ones you cannot even rename these so it just shows as a normal contact. All I want is a calendar I can put the contact schedule in (alternating weeks) for both parents and then be able to set overriding dates which can be set to the relevant parent and this be displayed on the main calendar. I.e normal contact shows normally but if a special event occurred that would override certain dates on a repeating basis it should shows this and which parent the child will be with. More annoyingly I deleted schedules I created to “move” them to a new calendar hoping this would resolve the issue and instead the calendars wouldn’t even display the scheduled contact. Overall summary - Negatives - buggy as hell, - difficult to set up the very basics - not accommodating to non- Americans Positives - some amazing features - for Americans this is perfect
Goodness
Easy to keep track of family events when you’re separated.
Dreadful support
Before this app changed to a subscription service I found very user friendly and perfect for communication. I have now subscribed to the monthly subscription service as they no longer offer a free service - despite AppClose deducting a monthly fee when I attempt to use the app I’m told that I need to subscribe. 7 emails to support later - no response or resolution. Dreadful!
Not free anymore
UPDATE Developers explanation doesn’t change the fact, that I am dealing with a person who is refusing to pay for any app so it doesn’t matter if AppClose is cheaper than other apps or not. I used to have this app as the safest way possible to contact an abusive ex-partner and now this was taken away from me. Just because other apps are all paid for, it doesn’t mean you have to follow. You obviously don’t care about the kids or the parents. I would happily only use the massaging option for free. No need for the other features like call recording etc. And you know this cause probably people were happy with the free version and didn’t pay for the extra features. So you just charge now cause you want more money. Simple. This used to be a great app. Now you made it all subscription based, you are forcing me to go back to something that doesn’t serve the purpose but my ex clearly stated that he is not paying, and I cannot force him. You gave him a great excuse to come off a parenting app so he can continue his hurtful behaviour somewhere where he can delete it after.
Quite good, but…
Quite good, but there appears to be no way to clear alerts when other users in your group add an event. I have 15 alerts that I have looked at but can’t dismiss, which functionally is a fail.
Poor
Not bad for a free app. Terrible for a paid app. Especially bad as both parents have to pay.
Used to be great
Used to be great until you decided to stick a large price tag on a subscription and both parties have to pay or in my case 3 people have to pay which is an absolute joke, if it was only one person paying for the app it wouldn’t be so bad but social workers and courts will not pay to use the app to be the third party.
Decent app but needs improving
Overall the calendar sharing and per child information sharing works good. However the chat is wonky. There is a HUGE lag in responses being shared to all parties. One person replied and it took 3h before the reply showed up. This needs improvement especially when we are waiting for a response
Fraudulent payments taken
AppClose have duplicated payments without authorisation and refused to return contact when a refund has been requested. Avoid this parenting app and use a reputable one who don’t fraudulently take payments then refuse to provide basic customer support for their own bad business practices.
Great but sadly now will be subscription only.
This app has been great to use with a combative coparent but now is required to have a subscription to use. I will stop using it and have to use another method instead as 100 a year is steep.
ipayou not available in Canada
Your app is almost perfect but I cannot use the expenses part as it’s not available in Canada. So I had to cancel my account...😔
Don’t bother
It is the most downloaded app because it was free. Now it is not free, it will not be the most downloaded. You have reeled people in asa free app and then you have now charged a ridiculous amount of money per month to access it. 60 day trial means nothing bla bla. Boring, it was free now you charge grossly. Your response changes nothing.
Messages
Should be able to monitor messages when conversations deviate into abusive tones.
Go back to the previous version
The new version is horrible! Change it back!!!
