I downloaded this app thinking it would be a fun way to discover new beauty products. What I actually discovered was a masterclass in disappointment. Within minutes I felt like I’d walked into a digital flea market where everything is hyped up, nothing works the way it should, and somehow you’re still expected to be grateful for it. First of all, the app itself feels like it’s held together with duct tape and wishful thinking. Pages load slowly, things randomly refresh, and navigating it feels like wandering through a maze designed by someone who has never actually used a phone before. Half the time you’re tapping things wondering if the app froze or if it’s just ignoring you on purpose. Then there’s the whole “personalization” thing. Supposedly it’s tailored to your preferences, but judging by what it recommends, I’m convinced it either didn’t read my profile or actively chose the opposite of everything I said. It’s like filling out a survey that asks what you like and then proudly delivering the exact opposite. And the constant upselling? Relentless. Every time you open the app it feels like a salesperson is jumping out from behind a corner yelling, “WAIT, BUY THIS TOO!” It stops feeling like a beauty subscription and starts feeling like you accidentally wandered into an endless infomercial. But the worst part is the vibe. The entire experience feels like it was designed to keep you scrolling, clicking, and spending while giving you just enough hope that maybe next time it’ll be better. Spoiler: it isn’t. After using it for a bit, I closed the app, sat there for a moment, and genuinely wondered how something with such a big reputation could feel so chaotic and frustrating. Deleting it felt less like removing an app and more like escaping a very loud, very glittery marketing trap. If you’re thinking about downloading this, do yourself a favor: pause, take a deep breath, and reconsider. Your storage space, your patience, and possibly your wallet will thank you.
Can’t cancel
I cancelled my subscription, still got charged and they refuse to refund even though I have email confirmation of the cancellation. They say “Oh the cut off is the 25th”. I cancelled and they didn’t charge me until the 31st?! So you mean to tell me that I cancelled a full 6 days before you charged me and I can’t get a refund? Disputed with my bank and blocked them from ever charging me again. They are ridiculous and greedy. Never in my life have I cancelled a subscription and been charged for it 6 days later for them to say “sorry, you cancelled too late in the month” What?!
Long Time User
Been a member for a very long time. Currently have the “Extra” membership, with the $15 monthly booster. I find that sometimes the add-on’s offered to purchase after building your box have BETTER options than the items I had to choose from for the box selections. Also, it would be great if they could update their shopping cart to have the option to save item(s) for later.
Super laggy app
The app constantly freezes and won’t let me add products to my cart. I eventually give up and go to Ulta instead. I pay more there, but the constant issues with Ipsy makes it frustrating and time consuming.
Good products but bad service
Ipsy is a good way if you want to try new products. I like it for that reason. But if you have a subscription it won’t let you decide if you want to continue with it or not. It makes you order without your permission. I think Ipsy needs to change that because it’s not right if you get fined for something you didn’t want. I know I should’ve checked it or something but it still is disappointing.
IPSY IS THE BEST
Even if we don’t get the deluxe like most expensive one you get insignificant things I’m mourning you. This is not a scam like this is good and it will get you good stuff. I got a Charlotte Pillsberry. I also got a bunch of recipes I got and I have a lowest spot so yeah.
Can’t cancel
Don’t worry if you ever want to stop you can’t ! It will tell you to enter your username and password and constantly tell you it’s wrong. You can delete it and un download it and clear it out and it still won’t work. also you never speak to a real person if you have any problem they also do not have a customer service number
App not working
UPDATE: App now works. Brought rating to 4 star instead of 3. Says not connected to internet but I am. Getting an error

SHIPPING TO CANADA TAKES FOREVER!!!!! OK so I’ve gotten 3 bags from IPSY , the first time I ordered I hated my first bag, waited for the second to come in with better hopes & the zipper was broken on the bag bent couldn’t be fixed, & items inside it still wasn’t worth it. So I cancelled my subscription. Just decided after 2 years to try again, & nope lol, I didn’t even receive all items & when I emailed them they just said oops were mailing that item now and it’s been 2 months nothing. Cancelled my subscription again and won’t try again with Ipsy ever again. You get good deals on the little store however shipping takes EXTRAAA LONG!!! Not worth it lol.
No landscape mode
IPSY is fun, but this app isn’t fun if you use a Magic Keyboard with your iPad, since there is no landscape mode.

Okay….i just wanted to say i LOVEEEEEEE IPSY soooo much like it is so worth the money! Cause products i got were cheap in prices but SOOOOO worth it! (This is not a sponder nor a paid review this is my honest opinion!) majority of my makeup is from Ipsy! And wdym I get to pick out THREE things for my box to come in? AND on top of that my products NEVER come broken,damaged,or defective they are always in good conditions and I had never had a sour experience with lPSY! And! And I can even see what I’m getting! I had the Ipsy bag in June-March then recently i upgraded to the box…..GAME CHANGER!!!! I LOVE THE BOX SOOOO MUCH!!!!
FIX YOUR APP
Seriously IPSY? Pay attention to your reviews…your devs must be on extended vacay because the bugs keeping us from being able to shop without the app 💯 freezing/becoming non responsive HAS to be dipping revenue enough for you guys to care/notice. This has been documented by customers for MONTHS now - act like you care.

Very Disappointed
They make it difficult to cancel subscription. I searched everywhere and thought I had finally canceled this subscription to find out that I was once again charged a subscription fee. This is the 2nd time I have tried to cancel. I feel like they tricked me into another payment . A good wouldn’t have such dirty tactics!
Ipsy person
I can’t log in anymore because every time I click log in it just freezes and doesn’t let me log back in. I have already been an Ipsy customer but it’s making me log in again but I can’t log in. I’m getting packages of stuff from Ipsy but I don’t get to pick what I want. I like the products they’re good but it would be better if I got to pick some.
Amazing
I got the mystery bag the original membership after you take the survey and it was so good. I got glow recipe trial sets, full-size elf primer, full-size lip liner, half size strawberry kiss sugar scrub and a squeeze tube lip balm
I was scammed
I have been fighting with this greedy company for months over accidentally re subscribing. I asked for a refund and they said they don’t do refunds but I never received a package either. they stole my money and just never contacted me about it. I have tried to reach out so many times only to be talking to an ai bot. Greedy horrible company

Constantly limited shades
The idea behind it is great however they never have any of the lighter shades left in foundation or concealer or powder. Also sold out completely starting to get frustrating

I loved ipsy but this is ridiculous. I’ve tried multiple times to cancel my subscription, it doesn’t work. Finally, for some reason my account now says i don’t have a subscription or any history of a subscription, but i’m still getting charged and still receiving the ipsy packages? Been almost a year now and i’m getting pretty tired of it. I’ve tried almost everything. I’m going to have to go to my bank and get it blocked or something because oh my god is this very annoying. I also am not sure why they have you choose what you want in the ipsy packages and choose your skin color and then they send you stuff you don’t want and the complete wrong color. What am i paying for?

I have had my Ipsy account for a good while and I’ve loved everything I’ve gotten but recently my package was lost in the mail and after trying to get in contact with Ipsy or look at my account it just automatically kicks me out of the app and I’ve gotten zero support to help me get it fixed.
Too many bags
I love the products but you get a makeup bag every month. They have no way of opting out of the bag and just get the products.

Glitchy, difficult to navigate app
I was subscribed way back when the app first came out - it was so simple and easy to use. I re subscribed recently and completely avoid the app. The bags are good, love the products but can’t use the app.
Great Products, But Shipping Issues Ruined the Experience
I’ve been subscribed to IPSY for a while and usually enjoy discovering new products. Many of the items themselves are great. However, my recent January experience was frustrating. My original bag was delivered to the wrong address (which was not my fault), and I appreciate that IPSY sent a replacement. That said, the replacement shipped on January 19 and didn’t arrive until the end of February. The tracking showed no movement for weeks, which was concerning and confusing. I had already received my February bag before my January replacement even arrived. The replacement also came without the informational insert card explaining the products, which made the experience feel incomplete. I’m thankful that a replacement was sent, but the delay and tracking issues definitely left a disappointing aftertaste. I hope shipping reliability and communication improve in the future.

You’re shipping sucks my package has had a label created since the second it’s now the 13 so I won’t get my boxy charm or my clam bag until the end of the month when I ordered this, I didn’t expect it to come at the end of the month it to come in the middle of the month where I’m actually able to enjoy the products I’m not able to enjoy because they come so close to the end of the month

At first I thought that it would be sample sizes because that’s what everyone is saying but the sizes aren’t that bad, they’re like mini sizes but for the price of $15 per month and you getting a lot of things is actually not bad and I think that it’s really worth it!

I love IPSY as a company, enjoy getting my packages every month, their support is amazing as well. But the app is full of bugs. Sometimes it won’t work for a day.
Love the products app is hard to use and over charged me
I wanted to get the glam bag and it came to 19$ Canadian. For some reason my card got charged for 30$ and I’m really confused. My mom and sister love this app so I think it’s overall good and cheap for the products your receiving but the app is also so hard to navigate as well. I hope I can get this problem fixed
Search
There is no back button when looking at items, as well, you cannot search any products up. You can search by brand, but not by product and that’s very annoying.
👎🏻No help for delivering my order on wrong address
As I kept asking for my packages as they get delivered to wrong address in different city . I haven’t get any compensation or any other assistance. Have to cancel my membership and experience is very bad. Wasted my money 👎🏻
Can’t cancel order
The subscription part of this is great however the actual shop part is not that great, once you’ve placed an order with their shop theres no way to cancel it. Not even 30 mins after placing it. No button , just nowhere to cancel it. You will have to go through a lot of steps and emailing for soemthing that would have been so simple on another platform. There’s simply no button for cancelation or for mistakenly making this order. Ipsy please fix this

Products are good but watch shipping times for Ipsy shop orders, shipping times from US to Canada varies greatly in my experience and can take over a month at times.
Canadian shipping
The small sample bag monthly subscription is nice but everything else doesn’t ship to Canada. Disappointing!
IPSY has upped their game!
Subscribed years ago then quit. Resubscribed because the brand selection, products and curation have greatly improved. Love it. Got the big quarterly boxes too. Impressed! Such a nice treat to get delivered.
Who created this app?
This one of the worst apps I have eve come across. It’s glitchy, the layout is not user friendly. This company’s nd its concept is awesome, but the app seems like it’s being managed by 1 full time person and one part time person in another country. Can this company please invest in their IT department?? It’s so frustrating because the concept of this company is great, but the app is absolute garbage.
