Great game!
This is a super fun game! Yes there aren’t that many different category's but there are 26 different letters. It’s a GREAT game!
Scattergories was better
I loved this game so I decided to give the updated version a try and it sucks. Bad. I thought I would like it and at first I did and then it started crashing, it wouldn’t save my name, I couldn’t challenge new people and so many other issues. I wish they would just go back to scattergories it was so much better.
Good game! Repetitive Categories
I like the shorter time and fewer prompts (basically they’re half games) but they get very repetitive if you play for more than 15 mins.
Scattergoires replacement?
I was confused to see this changed app on my phone. The name and look completely. I wonder if the app got int copy right issue with the board game. Can someone answer this? I’m sure I’m not the only one to realize this.
Too many correct answers marked wrong
I’m playing right now and the question is “movies set in nyc” and when I put “sex and the city” and “New York minute” and neither is accepted. There weren’t any typos or anything and that’s not the first time either. This has happened so many times, at least 1 out of 5 questions. It seems like any questions that has answers before 2000 are always wrong, like whoever responsible for fact checking the answers just gave up when they got to the year 2000 and didn’t look further back.

Scattegories??
What the heck happened with the scattegories app? I updated the app and now it is a completely different app, name, interface, everything.
Great game, a little buggy sometimes
Super addicting and fun game. The AI behind the scoring can be a little glitchy at times, which sometimes affects the scores and sometimes doesn’t. For example, I gave the answer “island parrot” once, trying to be creative. It changed my answer to “the correct spelling for this answer is I-S-L-A-N-D P-A-R-R-O-T” but it still gave me points. And sometimes answers that should cancel each other out don’t do so because someone put an s at the end or something similar. But otherwise, it is a great game!
Cheats
This game cheats all the time. Like I just did one and it was flowers. Letter j. I wrote jonquil. Correct word, correct spelling. It flagged it as dispute. It flags words all the time that I spelled correctly but it changes the spelling. I still win all the time but it's not fun when the computer cheats!!
It’s good, but…
This “new” trivia game is good, but I don’t understand why they didn’t just make a new app instead of using the old scategories app. Especially when the reviews of that old game weren’t all too positive. I also personally much preferred the old game in spite of all its flaws.

Terrible
This was fun for MAYBE all of 2 min. Until the 1st 2 rounds ended and I tried to play another round only to get “system error” over and over and over and over… deleting immediately

I would leave a message to support in the app if it would open. I have deleted and reinstalled many times.
Great game
It’s a great game and super fun! I love all the different game models and play it almost every day. The problem is it has bad glitches occasionally. I’ve had it glitch where half of the words just don’t appear and I had to end up deleting the app to get it to work. Other than that it’s great! The ads are minimal!

Different app with 2.0.0 update (no longer Scattegories)
The developers of this app, formerly Scattegories, apparently decided to change it to something completely different for the 2.0.0 version. So updating the existing app completely changes the app. They should have released a different app, rather than pulling the rug out on existing app users who can no longer play the Scattegories app they previously got from them.

Great game but lots of answers aren’t accepted because they are English as opposed to American wording.

They want $8 a month to go add free. Maybe a one time payment of $10 but $2 a week is ridiculously expensive for an educational leisure game. I can buy and play the real game for less money with a better scoring system. Plus there is no dice roll simulation they just give you a number. I wanna see that dice tumble if I’m paying for it.
Fun, but unfortunately very buggy :(
I love the game and I have to admit it can be very addicting at times, but I can’t get around the fact that I can maybe get 5-6 games in before either the game entirely crashes, the screen freezes, the audio cuts out, gets stuck in a reconnecting loop, or it still puts me through a barrage of ads even though I paid the $3.99 for no ads! I’m honestly very disappointed with the game because it has so much potential, but so very many bugs the developers need to work out.

Shady App & Name Change
This was scattergories but sometime in the last few days totally changed to a new app.
Good
I do love a game of Scattergories. Every Christmas with my family I play the game (the normal one), and we have so much fun. This is why when I saw it on my phone, I immediately downloaded it. It's really, really, really, really good. However there is one annoying, unexplainable thing. If I was playing a game and we both got 40, it would say the other person won, when it is obviously a draw. I would really like an explanation for this. Is it if I'm a higher level I win? I would really appreciate it if you could please get back to me on that. Thanks For Reading 😉 xx
fun but..
it’s fun and a great game but the waiting to get more coins is so stupid
fun but frustratingly buggy
i love scattergories, this app version is so-so. while the gameplay is fun enough and seeing other players advance adds an element of pressure that would typically be supplied by the timer in the physical version of the game, the bugs take all that away. it seems that with every challenge i start, it’s a 50/50 shot that the round will take my coins but then load indefinitely before getting to the results screen. i can take it if i lose, but the indefinite loading means i never get to see how i stack up, and i lose the coins nonetheless. if you can’t build a game that lets you get to see the results and be rewarded, at least make it so you can get your coins back for an incomplete game. like all apps of this type, it relies on giving us that dopamine boost when we win to get us addicted. so this bug not only ruins the fun of the competition, but also breaks the very way this game gets you to play.

Made up answers are acceptable ☹️
A lot of people have already mentioned most of my concerns. But one thing that made me delete thisapp for the2nd time is that you can just make up answers and they will be accepted. For example, I cannot name any recording labels, so I just make them up and they are always accepted and sometimes deemed rare. Of course they are, because I made them up! Thumbs up for giving me undeserved credit, but the downside is my opponent is doing the same thing.

Addictive but a little glitchy
I love this game. Unfortunately the ads sometimes freeze the app. I wish you earned more coins when you’re not playing - I go through them too quickly! More variety in the categories would be nice too. All-in-all, a fun game.
Great in concept, but…
I enjoy playing this game. Unfortunately, Scattergories is a bit like an old White guy who only interacts socially once a year. Many correct answers are excluded, with culturally White American-centric answers being preferred. The dispute function is disabled so there is no way to notify the company that we’d like them to join us in the global 21st century. (This reviewer is a White American.)
Used to be good
This app used to be good, but recently it doesn’t work properly. It doesn’t show words and in general looks like a dying app.
A wierd glitch
Last night I was on 14 points and the next morning I then have 200 points!
Literally awful
You can’t see your partners answers, there’s no real voting system, you can answer with absolutely anything and it will count it as long as the letter is correct. There’s no rhyme or reason to it. Also the layout of the game is just bad, an off-putting design that does not make me want to stick around and play. They aren’t categories that can be answered either. “Island hotspots”? I don’t know what to answer for that even without letter restrictions.
Fun times
Great fun. Quite a few repeats with categories and letters resulting in the same answers, and a few answers not allowed I assume because they weren't American references. Correct this and I'll happily give it 5 stars.

Just OK
This has the potential to be a really good game but the ads at the end of literally EVERY round is ridiculous!! Also, why give the option to dispute an answer but not actually be able to dispute it?? That makes no sense at all.
Great Game!
This app is really fun, I just wish it ran more smoothly. The keyboard is slow, and the spacing of the letters on the keyboard also are not spaced the same as the iPhone keyboard - so in an effort to type quickly (as is the point of the game), I’m constantly misspelling words. It’s rather frustrating when being timed. I agree with other reviewers that having a larger variety of categories would be great! Hopefully this feedback helps :)
This app is so bad
The game of Scattergories is fun, but not having a real friend feature is one of the most blatant sins this app version has. There are tons of ads unless you’re willing to pay, and there’s no game history, and the navigation is incredibly obtuse.

In the last few days I have noticed that if I choose the Duel option I am more frequently being paired with other players whose profile names are clearly an aggressive, negative and vulgar acronym that reflects their political agenda. Why is this allowed? This should be a neutral atmosphere.
A.I. is not ready for the act of judging.
If this is any indication of the scope of artificial intelligence, then it is very stupid! FYI, Colorado I’d not a city, Nick is not a constellation, etc., etc., on and on. I am really good at the board game version, but this…not so much. On second thought, I want the job of being a Scattergories judge. Apparently you don’t have to know anything!
