Amazing person
Went above an beyond for me… such a kind person! Many thanks again xx
No
Only ever have bread on there, maybe the doughnuts not good if you need proper food or actually starving
Less waste
As prices go up this site is a life saver
Some good points, but untrustworthy review system
I have had mixed success on here. People’s ratings are misleading. I bought a very low quality bed frame, but I was not able to leave a review for the seller because they removed their listing, even though I had already bought the item in question and had it delivered (expensively). Some people use this platform to get rid of their unusable junk, and there should be a mechanism for separating these users from reliable people
To Ashleigh
This was my first experience with this sight, and I didn’t know there was an opportunity to give feed back. Really enjoyed my chat with Ashleigh , and the items were just what I needed to organize myself. Good experience. Made easier by Ashleigh being so friendly. Sorry for late reply Thank you To Ashleigh x
Best app
My friend introduce me to this app and I like it because not only we help not to waste food or any things that we don’t want. Someone outhere need it for themselves and feed the hunger for alteast one meal or two. Helping other for me is one best thing I can share in this world. Wot the help of olio I managed to achieve it in my small way.
Constant stream of ads
The major frustrating issue with this is after watching the allotted ads, which should be fine better I think instead of having to watch to request, it does not allow you to request and instead closes and then you have to keep watching on the hopes it eventually gets you to the next page. It’s exceedingly unnerving and exasperating. I thought it was a bug but it’s all a little odd.
Great initiative
Really like the purpose of this app, helps with reducing waste. UX wise I find the navigation a little atypical. Would strongly prefer my profile and listings to be easily accessible from the bottom right in the tab bar instead of from the hamburger menu.
Pret soderberg collection
Ridiculously unfair how we can’t all volunteer to distribute from them except locked in handful
Undo the messaging changes in 2.170.15
Great app, but messages load so slow and are more cluttered in this new update
Thankful
I’ve been using the Olio app for a while now and am thankful for the money it saves me. Thankful for the volunteers and thankful that good food isn’t being binned.
No accountability
The app UA is fine but Olio takes no accountability for users who do the wrong thing, and they know they can get away with it as there’s no recourse. There are safer platforms to use.
Messages
Would be great if it was easier to pick up messages. Otherwise it’s fantastic!
No listings
Not a single listing in the whole state or WA or OR?? Not sure if its an app issue or it just has no active users, but kinda needs listings for the concept to work…
THIS IS ONLY FOR THE UK
There is no one in my American city who has this. I checked how Manchester and London UK looked from curiosity, and there was a LOT of users. Please advertise it better, this seems like a great app.
Amazing
Amazing help
Frustrating
On iPad whenever I click on an item and then click back the app scrolls to the top of the page. It’s incredibly frustrating.
Great buyer!
Very prompt payment and pickup
“Old phone” 4G not supported?
Olio’s mission is presumed to reduce waste. My iphone13 running the latest IOS cannot access the app via 4G. When I wrote to inquire, i was told the reason is olio does not support old devices. My iphone13 is only 2 generations old and is working perfectly. I intend to continue using it as a contribution to sustainability. I am surprised by the reason olio gave. Do they expect us to upgrade our phone whenever a new model comes along? How does this fit in with its mission?
Good app to save wastage & safe the earth
Good app to save wastage & safe the earth. Easy to use
Fantastic app and initiative!
Fantastic initiative that reduces food waste and could help so many! Easy to use app and helpers are always from my experience, lovely people!
Great idea but…
Needs ambassadors, it’s useless right now in my area.
good idea in progress
I believe a lot more could be improved, but for a general very positive feed back of a great system. I am particularly fed up with adds before asking items because for me they are inconsistent and to see five times a same uninteresting add is just waste of time and internet pollution. i would not pay either as i am mostly keeping the service on for not throwing food away but I give to neighbous most food as i don't eat many of that and fon't need that much i repeat that shops shpuld retire food from shelves
Great app but with limitations
Great app n wonderful to see people sharing what they don’t need or can’t use. But it’s hard to contact the giver and some refuses to tell you the address till the day of collection. Sometimes items were taken by people who didn’t request for them and you end up making a wasted trip.
No offers in my city?
I just downloaded the app to try it out and there’s ONE person who has a “wanted” post up but otherwise not a single post in my (quite large) city. Rather disappointing..
Made my mom crazy
I’ve rated this 5 stars to get to the top, but as soon as my mom’s got this app, she’s completely stopped buying groceries. It’s gotten to a point where we don’t have any fresh bread or milk for weeks because she’s getting all of the off free ones. This app has ruined me and my father’s life together.
So buggy I couldn’t sign up
I downloaded the app and tried ti make an account, but it wouldn’t let me sign up via email or activation link. Right below sign up there’s an option to contact them if there are any issues. The contact/help link did not work either. There was no way to use the app
Great concept, notifications need work
I have some notifications that never clear on Olio, which means I often miss actually new messages.
Worse than Facebook marketplace (right now)
Download it and signed up for this app just to find out there are zero listings in my area. I tried to create a listing but it won’t let you create one without a photo. Then, it won’t let you upload a photo without giving full access to your camera and complete photo library (just doing selected photos won’t work) so for the lack of listings and bad privacy standards this was an immediate delete for me sorry fam
What Happened to Users in the SF Bay Area?
What app are you all using now? I used to actively give food on here and now there’s so many less users. Was great when there were more participants.
Huge help
Thank you
Hopelessly outdated
What started out as a stable , simple to use and intuitively designed app with Straightforward UI & UX >> has now become unstable, crashes, and with their revised latest version - is COMPLETELY HOPELESS TO USE LET ALONE NAVIGATE
Great comms
Prompt and clear communication. And collected the table as arranged which was great. Thank you
Consistently freezes in map mode
Freezes in map mode every single time. Have to close and restart. Severely limits the accessibility of the app.
Fantastic App
App is fantastic and great idea to share to reduce wastage! I am not sure why, I couldn't change my user name at all and as it is linked to facebook. Please allow us to change our user name to protect users privacy. Additionally, as alot of sharing of items are from our personal homes (we share our home addresses) is it possible to have an additional security safety measure of not allowing people to screenshot chats? Please do take into consideration data and user privacy.
Awesome

Pay
You have to pay to give away stuff? Would not allow me to sign up for basic
Very helpful
Very nice person .. things are all in good condition.
Good intentions, subpar app experience
To piggyback another review, well intentioned but the app experience really holds it back. I first learned / started using Olio about 5 years ago and the app seems to have gotten worse over the years. A lot of this would probably be solved with a tighter, native app replacing the existing one. Notification badges don’t clear, navigation is very clunky, heavy handed game mechanics, and so on.
No longer so great
I used to love this app, but months ago they made it so you have to watch an ad before requesting an item. I get that they need to make money and wouldn’t mind an occasional ad. But I’m needing to watch an ad every single time, and many of them are 30 seconds long. Just not really worth it, especially as you only get a handful of the items you request.
Helpful
It’s really helpful when I need food and non food items I have had so much help I have given back but could never give back as much as I was helped in 1 life time this app has been a life saver 4 me
Giving 1 Star
With the new update you are pushing and forcing everyone to watch an advertisement and wait 40 seconds in order to send a message. This is ridiculously annoying
Love it for its cause
Love how easy it is to connect and give out stuffs that we don’t need to others. The recent update got rid of most issues I’ve faced but UX could be further improved.
Good intentions
I appreciate what the founders were going for, but the app experience falls short. It's really hard to schedule pick-ups, and managing listings is a pain. I want to choose default values for all new listings I create rather than having to set them every single time (e.g., number of days to stay listed, availability). Even if I need to work around this problem by manually setting it on each of my listings, the values I choose don't always persist (e.g., number of days listed keeps saving as 5 days rather than the value I selected).
Good app- needs improvements on interface
I love the concept, but the coordinating pickups is a bit of a pain. There needs to be a calendar interface with location pin drop. Going back and forth over chat to coordinate…is so inefficient..and puts me off using the app. I don’t have an hour or 2 to lose each time I post several items.
Evrim
Very nice items and timing
THIS APP IS A SCAM
Once I downloaded this app, I gave my email & nothing happened. Not worth it, nice idea but would have been nice if this app actually worked
Love the concept
I love the concept of olio but could you please update the app for iPhone 12 pro max layout? Please communicate to the developer that the tab bar icons are popping out of the safe area on iPhone 12 pro max. Thanks
Good idea, bad execution
I like the idea of the app, but theres hardly any listings in new zealand. Even so, they still choose to spam you with constant notifications multiple times a day
Not working
Good idea but once given fb login permission, nothing happens Can’t use it
