Super Easy
Fantastic!!
Bad news station!
The worst temp, and humidity readings I have ever had with any weather station I’v had!
Happy customer…
The set up is amazingly easy. At a time when I am expecting “complicated” and “buggy,” it is nice to have easy to follow instructions and an app that works on the first try. Way to go La Crosse IT!
Archaic
Antiquated interface, loses connection to Internet and sensors even though it’s next to the router and sensors, just poorly designed.
No connection to weather server
Made few attempts to connect to the internet and could not do it.
Set up problems
Having difficulty adding wind, and rain sensors. Old age human error could be part of the problem. 🤔
Never works
Can never connect
Alerts
After about two years the alerts now are sending alerts that are totally wrong like your home is at 185 F …can not seem to get it fixed or help to fix it. Update After the review I have had a reply from La Cross. Since then there has not been any further false alerts. Therefore my review has been updated back to what I would have reviewed before. Hopefully all is fine.
Aggravating!
We have a lacrosse model V30v4, and every time it loses Wi-Fi connection, it is a struggle to get it reconnected. Once we finally get it connected (which may take literal hours of repeated login attempts using all the suggested methods until one of them finally works), it is nice to be able to remotely access conditions at home. I’m truly not sure it’s worth a headache, though.
Great App; Moderately Accessible the VoiceOver
The app is great, though only moderately accessible for blind users using an iPhone with VoiceOver. I am a retired accessibility consultantwho is blind, and I would be happy to give free advice or testing.
Check In While Away
As the title says, nice to be able to check in when out of town. Assuming you have WiFi connected sprinklers & HVAC, one can make needed adjustments remotely. Plus it is entertaining.
Absolutely awful product.
Absolutely awful product- difficult to set up, tech support is poor.
Reliable App
Please add widget. Please
Rain sensor
I can’t get the rain sensor to connect after replacing the batteries
Problem
Something happened and only the day, time and date show correct.
Good company to do business with
They make good on warranty. Purchased Pool thermometer several months ago and it stopped working altogether and they sent a new one out pronto no charge for anything. Also I have had three base stations replaced for various reasons out of warranty because of discontinued product or no parts available anymore. They discounted the replacement stations substantially for the upgrade current model. It’s been very easy to stay with LaCrosse over the years because of their support and desire to keep you as a customer.
Not the best!
The outdoor temperature seems never to work, so it causes problems for me and my husband, since he wants it to work. Something great to fight over a stupid clock that doesn’t work right!
setup
hard to set up using a ipad
Rain
You seriously need to change the rain accumulation from just 24 hours to a week or month. Continuous light rain over 24 hours is lost.
What are you actually fixing ???
Every so often when I open the app, I see “new version, please update”. I go and look and all it ever says is, “bug fixes & performance improvements”. What are the bugs and what improvements have you made? My app works fine so there’s no need for me to update it!! You NEED to put in the description what “bugs” you fixed and what the “performance improvements” are!! I have about 200+ apps that say they need updates but I refuse to update them because most of the time the “updates” break the apps or add things I don’t want!! Some of my apps I’ve had for many years and they work fine even though they say they need updates. Start telling what bugs you fixed and what performance improvements you’ve made.
Customer Support
We needed help with our weather station and the service person was excellent! He was efficient, extremely knowledgeable, and very kind.
Can’t connect internet
After 7-8 log on attempts won’t connect. Bad setup / software
Mostly good
I would give it a 5 star but it fails to update on demand far too often.
Temperature Humidity doesn’t display in app
Temperature Humidity now works with the new unit in the app.
great BUT
Great I got this sus anometer or whatever u call the thing. It pretty good but u should fix the controls on the screen. if u fix that I will rate it 5 star
Weather!
My system works!! Perfect! From anywhere in world I can get authentic weather for home. Perfect!!! Easy as logging into my phone!!
Won’t connect to WiFi
All I did was change our WiFi password. I followed directions to reconnect same as originally connected. Error message is it can’t connect to their server. Tried 4 times. Going to Amazon to buy something easy to setup and that works.
Délai
La communication entre mon iPhone et la station intérieur est parfois très long pour mettre à jour les données (de 2 à 4 heures). Merci
Sensor issues
Have the V40A-PROv2 display for just over 3 years. No longer receives outside sensor. Replaced with a new replacement sensor, worked for under a month and stopped. Now the sensors are discontinued as is the V40 display. Appears to be the display that is the problem as an older “non lacrosse app compatible display” still receives outside sensor data. Replacing entire system doesn’t seem to be a desirable solution.
Unit Chirps
Terrible off-shore support. It’s almost like they don’t know the product. Can’t explain why the base unit occasionally chirps. All batteries were.
Proven with time
I have owned my weather station for around 10 years and have replaced the rain sensor (probably because I left it out during summer) and the anemometer cup. It has worked through every storm to dry spell we’ve had without problems. A key feature I really enjoy is being able to check what’s happening at home from wherever I am in the world. I consider this review worthwhile since the station has performed for what I consider a long time and is still running.
Rain gauge
Rain Gauge will not work.
App
Not Tooo difficult
Wi-Fi Issues
La Crosse can’t seem to get their wi-fi fixed in years. Off all the remote devices I have on my network, LaCrosse weather stations are the most unstable of any device I own.
The most irritating setup ever
Trying to set this device up is irritation city. Too difficult and it never works. It was great the one time I had it working but that was a long time ago.
Old faithful
If you want something that is “Always there “ then choose LA Cross!!!!
Constant issues
To many issues and limited support.
Double down
Good solid machine however I’m annoyed - to buy the machine then be asked for more money for the information the machine has hidden such as more than a weekly view of the rainfall
Lacrosse Review
The app is great, but would be better if no subscription was needed, just a one time fee.
Time and date issue
For temp it works ok. Time and date are never in sync with reality. Even when manually setting these it will very soon become inaccurate.
Disappointed
The rain gauge will not stay connected which requires doing the setup over and over. I have to say it SUX BIGLY.
Can’t link with Wi-Fi
Worked fine up until I had to get a new router. Exact same model router every thing else has synced just fine and now I can’t get it to sync. Tried all remedies still no joy. Don’t know what to do with it next
Good sensor, weak interface
I enjoy the weather station but there’s a lot of customization that I just can’t do with it like change the order of sensors, or change the default time view, or show more than one stat for sensors in the sensor focus. It’s clunky. I’d give it 3.5 if I could.
Disappointing.
Sensor rarely connects to app.
Amazing
I got it for my house it’s amazing!!! My in love with it! it tells me better facts than the weather channels!! It’s Indescribable I don’t need to know what to say anymore because it’s all good!! I would buy it again and again thank you for this product
Impossible setup!
Snooze alarm driving me nuts. Cannot find way to turn it off. I am unable to connect to my 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network even after several attempts at factory reset
Temperature is no longer accurate
I have used the weather station for over two years.it’s been very good and comprehensive but the temperature indicators on the roof are no longer reliable. Today it reads minus 6 but it’s probably about plus8 !!!
Does not last more than 2years, 3 years max!
Becomes obsoleted quickly due to programmed abscolescence: this is the third one we have. None of them lasted more than 3 years!
Setup Network Information Missing
When choosing the network for the device, the instructions should warn you in advance that it will attempt to connect to the network, your device is currently on. There’s no way to select a different network that’s available.
