Can’t use for interrail pass

No option to select interrail pass on app for phone or tablet. Only works on desktop which is useless when on the move.

Latest update not user friendly

I have been using this app successfully for past few weeks to plan trip within Europe. Since yesterday I am noticing the interface is not as user friendly and is freezing. There was a slider to select departure time which is now replaced by a drop down which is not as user friendly and is freezing regularly. After search results are displayed there was a back button to go back to the initial search field which retained the old search data. It was easy to toggle directions and continue with next search. This back button to go back to search is no longer available. As a result we have to start again by using Search at the bottom of the screen which opens a blank search form. This is not user friendly. Not sure if these changes were intentional, these changes make planning trips more difficult.

OK when it works

I am travelling in Europe on Interrail. I used the app to make some reservations successfully. One day I bought a ticket through the app for a short distance not worth using a day from my pass. 1. It offered no convenient payment methods, I had to enter my credit card information in a busy railway station making me feel vulnerable 2. A short while later on the train when I needed to show the ticket, the app had logged me out, I was unable to log in, no WiFi no cell signal. Luckily the train guard had seen this before and was able to suggest looking in my email.

Platform is good, but use website, not app

It is often the cheapest platform to do CFAR on UK rail Advance tickets, so you can lock in a higher price. It is cost effective for £10-£20 checkouts as no booking fee and low CFAR fee. Unlike Trainline it only has a booking fee for larger checkouts. However, there is no split ticketing so I sometimes use another app such as Trainsplit to find the split tickets I need to use. Use the website instead of the app. It’s faster and you can go back etc. The app is just the website but more restricted. You can’t do anything offline.

Best app for train bookings

I have tried multiple websites for my last minute train travel booking. Though the other websites either showed the tickets available and didn’t allow me to book or allowing to book only at higher prices. I was able to book my trip using this app at lowest available price without any issue.

Can’t add

If you have purchased tickets and didn’t log into your app, it says that when you open the app that your tickets should be there. The ticket I purchased in the app is there. The ticket I purchased with the same name and same credit card earlier this week is not there! there should be a fix for that. Just a suggestion.

If 0 was possible

I bought two train tickets recently and both were cancelled. I then had to buy additional tickets due to not being offered any other trains to go on due to strikes. Sure, I got a refund eventually. A refund was exceedingly less than the cost of my new tickets. And before you ask, I called the Trainline and Emailed RE before arriving to this review.

Inflated savings. Clunky app.

Higher than the difference with the non-split fare even without the £1.50 booking fee. Noticed when TrainLine introduces split fares and theirs are correct. Now TrainLine is much cheaper too with reasonable fees, smooth app and Apple Wallet.

Easy to use, excellent service

I’ve been using Loco 2 for a couple of years now. The website is easy and quick to use. The service of Loco 2 is excellent if there is any query related to tickets. I collect my tickets from my local station which works well. The only improvement would be if the tickets were valid on your phone providing a paperless service. I’ve introduced many people to your service and app. Thank you. Karen Way

Great for Spain Renfe tickets

I tried to buy Tickets from Madrid to the south of Spain via the Renfe web site and it was almost impossible with the site switching back and forth between English and Spanish - so I gave up. I eventually bought the tickets on Loco2’s web site but have since been able to access my tickets via this great app. I deducted one star because Loco2 as a whole doesn’t seem to allow flexible fare purchases to select a seat from a seat map which the fare code says you are entitled to. I suspect you must suffer through Renfe site to do this.

Never ask for a refund!!

Really pleased with this company until I had to return tickets under their refund policy. I was charged an admin fee of £10, plus the cost of recorded delivery to return the tickets. Despite endless emails, after 8weeks I’m still waiting for a refund, despite my account showing my money has been refunded. Hugely disappointed

Same functionality as mobile website

If you are tight on memory then just use the mobile version of the website, it’s exactly the same. The other thing to be aware of is that you can’t add passes like interrail so not as useful if planning for that. Back to using the desktop website which doesn’t work very well on a phone as elements like date selection appear off screen!

Too little information

The app doesn’t give you information regarding which platform to get the train on. It doesn’t allow you to save your tickets to Apple Wallet and it doesn’t allow you to share your fellow passengers’ tickets with them. You can buy tickets fine with it, but if there are alternatives I’d use it.

★★★★☆ United Kingdom · v3.2.1 · 20 Oct 2018

Great service

Best prices online hands down. The experience is even better once you download the app. One minor gripe though is that your ticket is not digitalised on the app. I don’t like collecting paper tickets from the station, there really isn’t any need to do that anymore. That’s the only reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars.

Much needed, but unreliable

First of all - super happy that there is a european rail booking app at all - something that is sorely needed. But this app has taken me all the way through the booking process on a number of occasions only to tell me that one of the legs of the journey can’t be reserved so therefore the whole connection can’t be booked. All this after putting in my payment details so it leaves you guessing if the payment has gone through. Loco2 - please do better.

Terrible App & Website for booking

I tried to use the website to book a ticket and couldn’t proceed, without the title box being filled in. However when I tried to fill it in, it wouldn’t show any drop downs and just jump to the top of the page. So I downloaded the app, thinking maybe this was the only way I could book. Same thing happened on the app. Wasted my time, whatever this is you should fix it as you’ll end up losing business. I’ve now booked my train tickets with another provider.

Overall excellent. Ratings pop up crashed app

Have found this very useful especially last year when we missed a vital connection due to a delayed train and needed to catch multiple extra trains to reach our destination. The app was great at finding a workaround and telling us where & when to change + platforms for connecting trains. Would have given 5 stars but the rating pop up crashed the app due to when it appeared & had to reboot my phone as I could not either close or submit. Minor quibble with otherwise great app.

Seat reservations?

It would be useful to actually be able to see your reserved seating numbers. Doesn’t seem to work over my WiFi...

App no longer returns anything except for a connection error when I’m on my home WiFi. It’s odd as other apps work fine such as my banking apps and other meta search apos. Initially I thought it maybe down to cert pinning as I sometimes proxy through a proxy app on my Mac for work and forget to turn manual proxy off, but it not because of that as I checked.....plus my banking apps worked and they all have very pinning on. Apart from that it’s a great app but it was rendered useless until I decided to try an toggle my WiFi connection off.

Still not as good as trainline.com

I stopped using trainline.com because their 3rd party partner - Complete Savings scammed me thousands of pounds. However Loco2 still need to catch up to its competitor in a few areas: - Still no QR tickets at some stations - Still no Apple Pay - PayPal Bug: PayPal checkout often doesn’t work - General Bug: when selecting times for return tickets, pressing ‘Earlier’ or ‘Later’ trains would cancel your already selected outbound journey - UI: why can’t we just use scrolling to find different train times instead of having to press ‘Earlier’ or ‘Later’ trains? - Really really slow when searching for ‘Earlier’ or ‘Later’ trains
