Great Test Prep
Passed the nclex with 85 questions!! The test looked a lot like this app it helped immensely. Thank you Uworld.
The new flashcard ready decks contain incorrect information
The ready decks in flash cards have mistakes in it ! Paying extra for the same ,expecting some quality . Unlikely of the standards by uworld kindly rectify
two suggestions
1. please add a option to enlarge flash cards text size. It’s super tiny even on ipad. 2. On iphone, it keeps showing ‘error authenticating users’, I have to try to login multiple times, after 4-5 tries it will work. On computer web no such problem.
Program lags too much
I am trying to study then suddenly the app stops responding and lags

Great product, horrible app
Update July 2026: An update fixed this issue completely! The last 4+ weeks the app has been flawless. Props to the developers for addressing whatever the issue was! Previous review: App is borderline useless. Amazing product, works perfectly on a computer or web browser. But this App works less than 1 in 10 attempts. Constant “authenticate” errors, or the wheel just spins when I go to log in and never advances. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times trying to fix the issue, with absolutely no improvement. This is NOT a negative review of Uworld test bank and study materials, which are 5/5 phenomenal. But the app needs A LOT of work.
Login issues
After the update I issues login in or using FaceId. Sometimes no matter what i try i can not get in via app but works fine online. Please fix this i use this during downtime to get studying done.
Add Definitions
Would be the perfect studying tool for the NCLEX if they didn’t use only medical terms with no way to look up definitions on the app ruins the flow of studying and note taking when I constantly have to stop the video to look up what I don’t understand
Add annotation option
Can we please add an option to remove adding an annotation option like adding to notebook option so double clicking the text only highlights it
Screenshots
Why so dramatic about screenshots? No one is going to steal the material over this platform. I’m taking a screenshot to show a tricky question to a friend, who will be more likely to use uworld afterwards. Shooting yourselves in the foot.
Good tool
Amazing app but just a kind request to developers. It breaks my continuity just doing 40 questions at a time. Can you please increase the number of questions I can do in a block. Or don’t put a definitive number on it. It’s quite frustrating
Complete Disaster!
I even bought a new iPad thinking something was wrong with my old one, but turns out it was always the app! It has so many bugs, glitches, malfunctions! The app turns off automatically and gets hung up often. Sometimes I am doing a test and it crashes midway then I lose all my progress! It has been like that for several months now! An app that is so widely used by people all over the world and they are doing nothing to fix it is unacceptable! I draw attention of the team that deals with this!

Not a truly “mobile” app
While this app is great for studying on your phone, it lacks truly “mobile” capabilities because it does not work offline. Even if you lose connection for a moment, there will be an error when submitting or suspending your exam, and as a result you can lose all your progress. Additionally, when offline the exhibits, such as images you need to answer the questions, don’t show up. This is an inferior product to Amboss which allows you to download question sets to your device, including more than 40 at a time. The good folks at UWorld probably don’t do this because they are so worried about their proprietary information getting stolen (the need to constantly log in is probably responsible for the problem with interrupted service). Oh well, Amboss has better questions and knowledge bank anyway.
App is freezing
I don’t know what is going with the app on the iphone but it’s freezing and not allowing you to log in. I constantly have to delete the app, redownload it and log in and that’s the only way it’s allowing me to use it on the phone. I don’t have any issues using it on the MacBook but the problem seems to be in the app. It’s frustrating please fix it thanks
Nclex-Pn
I loved the format of the app and it’s flexibility with the time and the lay out of the explanation of the questions and answers. This app really boosted my confidence and I performed well in my exam :)
Unable to login
I am very disappointed that this application does not let me log into my account. I use my username and password that works on my computer then the app shows an error message saying that the account details do not match.
Work in Progress
Hard to use with Ipad Pro + magic keyboard. Trackpad issues include cursor misalignment that will jump erratically making clicking leave you with a wanting user exp. I understand it is difficult to keep up with daily software updates and the variety of devices users are using; however, because this type of critique is so common, one would imagine it is time to enhance UWorld’s ability to address these issues.
Really bad user experience
For an app that’s this expensive you’d think that it would perform well. But no. The app crashes after every hour. The user-interface is sub par. Their “notebook” feature is the worst of all with a mind of its own. And since the app doesn’t allow copy-pasting elsewhere, I am forced to make notes on here. The keyboard doesn’t open on tap, adding content takes multiple attempts and there’s no search option to search through my notes. These are just a few of the problems faced.
App Crashes
App is very unstable in an M4 iPad Pro. A days work wasn’t saved due to a crash. Unacceptable considering the value of time of test takers.
Good start
I have been using this app for two days. I think that it is good because it has a lot of tools that help us in our achievements. I recommend it to people who wants to prepare the USMLE steps and to improve the medical knowledge
Login Errors
The app is excellent for exam prep, as long as it lets you log in. I have had significant trouble logging into the app for several weeks. Often it just spins and spins and doesn’t work. Very frustrating when you have limited time between seeing patients, rounding, or doing other tasks and trying to slip some studying in. Needs significant improvement in that aspect.
Split screen explanations
“Split screen explanations” feature does not work properly on my iPad. It works on the current question, but when i go to the next question it is not shown in split screen. Please fix the issue.
App freezes
Please fix the iPhone app, I have to delete and reinstall the app every day.
App Crashes Common
Love u world, but the app on iOS crashes very frequently while i use my notebook. Would love to get this looked into.
Issue in using step 1 qbank
I recently purchased the step 1 & step 2 CK’s 2 years subscription but I am finding an error in using step 1’s qbank as it shows the subjects of step 2 CK & then I am unable to create the test for step 1. This issue with new version of UWORLD MEDICAL needs to be addressed upon with immediate effect.
Poorly designed app with frustrating security features
The app is incredibly frustrating to use. It’ll routinely log users out (presumably for “security” reasons), forget previously answered questions (requiring users to re-answer), and is very unintuitive for navigation (you have to through like four to five different windows just to reach your qbank).
Option for downloading a test
Uworld is great and I appreciate the effort of improving it day by day but I wish they put an option for downloading a test and then they can put a time limit before which it can no longer be available offline
Question Bank with Questionable Features
I like that they added servers that go down constantly to go along with an app that desyncs and crashes constantly! Nice that they add features like this to what could otherwise be a boring old question bank!
Used to be good
Used it for Step 1/2 prep and during 3 I believe they took away the desktop app and made it online only. Ever since then, the mobile apps have been not working so well on apple devices. I want to access my IM board question bank, but it’s not available on mobile. Pretty useless to have this installed on my phone if I can’t do questions while on the go.
Apple pencil
Hi wonderful content. Slightly user unfriendly on ipad i feel. Can you please improve apple pencil utility in the app. Highlighter mode if possible separate(stroke and highlight) instead of selecting text first and highlighting. Thank you
App will not load
Every time I try to sign in, it just keeps buffering and nothing ever shows up. They made us (PAs) move to this app and it even doesn’t work.
Split screen And change in edit options
Uworld is a great app Can you please add the feature of split screen so that it would be easy for to write and edit flash cards When a new flash card is created all the back ground gets blurred and new text cant be selected to be added to flash card 2 requests - 1. Split screen in ipad 2. Remove background blur so text can be highlighted and added to flash card
App Freezes
When doing questions in tutor mode, app repeatedly freezes on a question such that when one swipes to go over to the next question, the current question repeatedly displays despite the swiping animation being completed. Even more annoying is the fact that you can see the session timer continue to run in the background, and the software records the question one is trying to get to as seen but “incomplete”. Attempting to “Suspend” the session does not work and the only way to resolve is to quit the app. Apart from this annoying bug, great app. Will update this review once bug has been rectified.

Random mode not working, 30/40 questions in a block is from same system How to fix this

Excellent for usmle prep, but very expensive for struggling medical graduates 😢
Not Practical for Efficient Studying
The app is focused on everything except being practical for efficient studying. UWorld Medical users need to be able to do questions on the go, review them thoroughly, highlight key information, and move through study sessions without unnecessary interruptions. The app interface is frustrating, poorly designed, slow, glitchy, and not user-friendly. It is so irritating to use that it makes you not want to use the app, even though we absolutely need to. Highlighting is one of the biggest problems. It should be fast, simple, seamless, and easy to control, but instead it interrupts both answering questions and reviewing them. It glitches with every highlight, wastes time, and the annotation pop-up continues to appear even when annotation is turned off in settings. Annotation is already listed as a separate toggle, so there is no reason for that pop-up to appear while highlighting. The multi-color highlight option makes it worse by blocking the content and making highlighting nearly unusable. Double-tapping or selecting text both glitch. Highlighting should be seamless and should not require extra clicks just to mark important information. UWorld Medical users do not have time for this. In 2026, there is no excuse for ongoing glitches or an app interface that slows users down. Every update barely fixes one issue but never fails to create another. Before this, the issue was text not fitting properly on the screen. Please focus less on screenshots and preventing content repurposing, and more on making the app practical, smooth, fast, reliable, and efficient for paying users. For the price we pay for UWorld Medical, the app should be nothing less than perfection.
Great app. Some suggestions
The extra step of selecting the text and then clicking on highlight is somewhat cumbersome. Directly highlighting the text upon selecting would be a very useful addition on devices like iPad where stylus is used. When youre doing timed tests, its almost impossible to highlight stuff in the question as it is very time consuming with the current functionality. Other than that, great app and a lifesaver for USMLE!
Get rid of the study plan
I cant use the app because the “study plan” is blocking my qbank. I get it though, making people more dependent on your app and study plan will make people use it more and $, but this is too much.
Lots of improvement needed
Its an ok app. The issues that i have been facing on iPad include- 1. Crashing of app whenever i try to use the search feature in the flashcards while reviewing a test. Very frustrating 2. Cannot access the background qs to add info while making a flashcard 3. The text during a test cant be highlighted in one go. It makes it really hard to complete the test on time.
Notebook
Please add notebook feature in the app. It’ll useful to revise.
Old App was much better, this one is not working
Old app forced me to download this one which is not working and wont allow me to sign in.
Keyboard support in IPAD PRO
The keyboard scroll in Ipad is still too laggy!
Please hire a user experience designer
The app is clunky. There are far too many clicks to do the simples things. Too many dialogue boxes that pop up. Too many times being asked if I want to take the action that I clearly selected.
Search in notebook
I cannot search keywords from uworld notebook if i use my uworld account from my ipad. Please look into this matter and kindly fix the issue

The app doesn’t have
The same categories as the web version. It only includes the step 1-3 for the USMLE but not the other stuff like for the PAs and NPs etc. would have been nice to have this for on the go especially for $300+
Question search issue
In the tools section when u search a particular question ID....u actually r able to open only a very few questions.....for others the app shows “no result found”.....hoping this problem to be fixed soon...
