It works!!
My daughter and I entered a weight loss journey together. We needed a better relationship with food besides the love hate one we had. We love to eat and then hate ourselves later because of the weight gain. Our journey started just about three months ago and we have both lost a total of 64 pounds so far. Nothing crazy, usually around two pounds a week. Some weeks we do better and some weeks we just maintain. However, we are not gaining. We do not go to the gym or do any major exercises. We both try to walk more however, other than that we do mostly meal prepping. Our healthy food is just waiting for every meal. No mindless eating. I have to say this app has been a life savor. We both have a long way to go and I know we will achieve our goals. We now make better and healthy choices. Thank you for creating an app that is user friendly. We will be forever grateful.

Almost
The lay out is great. Videos and shopping list creation is another great tool. The one thing missing is that it does give the nutritional values, but I am not finding the serving size weight. It just shows what a serving size nutrition value as far as macros without weight in grams or ounces. That’s a must for tracking weight loss or even maintain weight. Hope to see the change in up coming app updates.
Not user friendly!!!
This app would get a FIVE STAR if it made the necessary adjustments to its Meal Plan. First off, the Meal Plan feature is TERRIBLE!!! It has three features: Use Calorie Calculator, New Blank Plan, and Pick Your Calories. If you use either Calorie Calculator or Pick Your Calorie. When you’ve input the information you’re give a meal plan that YOU CAN NOT ADJUST!!! You’re stuck with what you’re given. I have to delete whatever meal they gave me. Look for another meal out of HUNDREDS. Which I CAN’T filter. Therefore leaves me with the only alternative to not just go off whatever I feel like making or just use another app. The New Blank is worse!!! It’s the same thing. Only difference I have to manually choose out of the HUNDREDS of meals my whole week. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, plus snacks. Bro this is time consuming. I’m already busy throughout the day. The last thing I want is to manually pick my meals out of a large meal book. Let alone not be able to adjust a created one. Until they fix that feature it gets TWO STARS. This could easily be a FIVE STAR app. FIX ASAP!!!
Branded spice blends listed in recipes with no substitutions
Recipes will have Fit Men Cook branded spice blends in them with no guidance on how to substitute. This is very bad for those with food sensitivities to things like garlic and onion (ex. Low Fodmap) not to mention inconvenient to everyone who wants to quickly make a recipe without ordering something. Could be the perfect app if this was fixed and there were options for filtering out the 4 different FODMAP sensitivities in recipes.

Serving Sizes?
Love the recipes. Always something I want to cook. Curious if there is any serving sizes that i am missing? I see the macros for each meal, but how much is one serving? I can’t see to find that information. Thanks in advance.
Unreliable recipes
There are many recipes that seem to not be tested. A lot of missing information during the steps too. A few are good but some will not lead you to a satisfying result. I would rather has an app with fewer recipes but every one of them is tested rather than one that include lots of them but not tested.

Meal Plans seem pointless if you have dietary restrictions
I was super excited to try this app. I’ve tried a few recipes in the past which have been excellent but this time I wanted to do the meal plans with a new training routine I’ve been given. Unfortunately you can just simple add a filter that would make all the meals in the meal plan vegan. Oh no, instead you get what you’re given then have to go through the whole plan and replace any meals that aren’t suitable. I actually purchase pro because I thought I’d have this ability as it was advertised as being able to edit and customise the plan. This wasn’t the case of course.
Needs to be for all devices.
I love this app and all his recipes. Wish us wasn’t just for apple users though
Untested, incomplete recipes
The recipes in this app have clearly not been tested, nor edited. I have professional kitchen experience, and there are many instances of instructions are at best misleading, at worst incorrect. For example, you can’t caramelize an onion in one minute, it takes about 15 minutes. And this is not me nitpicking, this is just one of many examples. Another example is ingredients simply going missing, like for example the chicken thighs in “chicken with couscous”. They make an appearance at the beginning of the recipe, then completely disappear. There are some great recipe ideas in this app but it needs a proper proofreading before its of any value.

Like the app but when setting up a meal plan, I wish there was an option to choose veggie/vegan meals
One recommendation
I REALLY love this app and have been using it for YEARS! One thing that I’d love to see, if possible, would be some recipes for people with liver issues such as fatty liver. I recently was diagnosed with fatty liver and have been struggling to reverse it by eating super healthy. Unfortunately, I just been struggling with coming up with healthy recipes to support my journey. I know there are specifics foods that I’m not supposed to eat, but sometimes is hard to come up with recipes with the GREAT things we are supposed to eat. I have been doing a mix of juicing with berries and beets, to eating salmon and cutting carbs by 90%. Anything that could help would b amazing!! Thank you again for the app!

Love FitMenCook but need more Paleo Dishes
As a woman who has “yo-yo’ed” when it comes to dieting and exercise, when I found FitMenCook on Instagram a few years ago, I was ecstatic! I have digestive issues so Kevin’s paleo recipes that he posted online were a God-send. When I recently downloaded the app I thought I would be able to use the calorie calculator to automatically develop a mostly Paleo meal plan that I could enjoy or would be easily adaptable for my diet. Unfortunately, this is not the case so I was a bit disappointed. Nonetheless, I really like the recipes and enjoy FitMenCook!

But it didn't let me and you only get one shot at getting my money, apart from that the app looks okay...
Needs improvement
It would be a great app if some features were implemented: Personalised meal plans currently only produce one set of recipes. It would be awesome if there were many alternatives to choose from. This is a feature used in other programs, it’s really odd that it hasn’t been implemented already. Country specific food options. I live in Australia so I really have no access to turkey as a cheap protein option. Again this is only an issue with the personalised meal plans being so limited. I’d really like to be able to swap out a recipe for one that is more accessible. The way it is now, I have to select a recipe to find out the macros I’ll have to replace with another recipe manually. What’s more is I have to do all the calculations myself (it only shows 1 servings nutritional value). I tried the contact page on the website, and after I finished writing, the website would not complete the send action. I’m hungry as ever and now I’m writing this instead of eating because the app is unfinished in my eyes. Forgive my cynicism for I am famished.

App doesn't allow ingredient restrictions
There is no option or setting to filter out specific foods, like dairy or nuts. This makes it not very useful for those of us with food allergies.
One missing feature
Great app. Lots of good, simple recipes, and great tips for keeping cooking interesting and fun. However, if we could have the ability to favorite a recipe on one device and have it save to all of our devices that would be amazing. So many times I find a recipe on my phone during a break and when I want to use my iPad in the kitchen I have to find it again on that device. Also cross saving of of shopping lists and meal plans would be a great way to make this an absolutely complete app.
Not worth the price
I get more recipes of his off Facebook. This app is never updated. The recipe selection stays the same. 1. He need to put each Facebook recipe on here. 2. His weekly meal prep tab should actually have different weekly meal preps suggested by him and they rotate. This tab is a joke: it's up to the customer to put meals into the plan. Well duh!!! I can do that myself without the fancy tab. HE needs to put weekly meal plans together for us, and change them each week.
Ok but not great for the UK
Has a lot of ingredients that maybe really easy to buy anywhere in the U.S. but no readily available in the UK without having to do a muscle food order. Also a lot of Mexican foods which I don’t really think is a realistic breakfast option. A lot of the other features are really good.
Truly struggle free, fun, macro friendly.
First time I’ve ever been compelled to leave a review for an app. These are the best recipes for flavor, ease, affordability, and making modifications to hit certain macros. Two family members have celiacs, two need high protein and low card, one needs high carb and low fat, and we all want a variety of fruits and veggies, and we want to be able to eat the same meals. That is easy to achieve with this app! We can easily modify sauces on the side, or making the carb source separately, etc. We’re finally all able to eat the same meal that is gluten free, full of flavor, and hits our individual macro needs. We’ve discovered so many new ingredients and recipes that cooking, baking, and eating (gluten free) is fun again. The app is user friendly with the features I want, I appreciate not having to click through a bunch of junk or features I don’t need.
Additional purchase required even after subscription
I used to enjoy this app a lot. However now many recipes require the app developer’s own spices set, which sells for 37 USD (for a pack of six spices.)
Great recipes
80% of what I meal prep every week comes from this app or his book. The recipes are very good in my opinion. I only have 2 complaints: 1) App functionality: I use my phone to plan and my iPad to cook the two apps don’t seem to communicate with each other so my favorites recipes and shopping list on my phone doesn't match my iPad. 2) The brand name spice blends, while tasty, are sometimes not feasible for various allergen reasons and the substitutes that are offered are sometimes lacking and often remove the main flavor of the dish. While #2 is a personal problem with a coconut allergy in the family, #1 could easily be fixed. Otherwise fantastic app.
Extortion
App is a great start (tease?) in many ways. And I can admire an entrepreneur. But charging users who have already purchased the app an ADDITIONAL monthly fee for critical basic functionality (editing meal plans) is extortion and a major FU to paying users. Set meal plans have a limit of a mere 6 recipes (that's right, SIX recipes between 6 meals a day for 6-8 weeks - you'd get more menu options eating in prison). Editing or adding to these recipients requires the "pro" edition. Also - "servings" indications between prep meal recipes, actual meals and elsewhere is totally unintuitive, confusing and in some cases contradictory. App good but not that good that I'd sign up to funnel additional monthly fee into this black hole. But since they've already paid for it I'm sure many guys throw good money after bad to unlock the basic functionality of "pro" addition. Guy who has his bicep-fluffing pose all over the app: his SE grin looks like he's got that all figured out...
Good but needs some tweaking
I like the app and the majority of the recipes however the fact that some recipes don’t have their own dedicated video and that the recipes aren’t so user friendly, in regards to the conversion of measurements, I give this app a solid3/5

Poor app design. Average recipes
The app does not give you the ability to render videos at a lower quality. So unless you have a very high speed Internet, you can not watch any of the videos. I found the recipes to be not that impressive.

I appreciate this app and the people behind it. The recipes are easy to follow and doesn’t brake the bank when it comes to the ingredients. It has helped me improve my meal preps and cooking arsenal. After you master a few recipes you’ll want to start your own restaurant. Thank you guys.
Shedload of rubbish
Bought this app a while ago and still have not prepared a single meal. If you really want to live by the recipe book you will end up doing nothing but cooking all day long. Recipes are quite complicated and time consuming.

Vegetarian meal plans?!
I’m a vegetarian and want to gain muscle mass. When I try to set a meal plan there’s no option for a Vegetarian meal plan. Very disappointing. Wasted $6.
Great recipes!!!
I absolutely love the recipes. I only gave it 4 stars because I wish there was a function to swap meals. I’m highly allergic to fish and sensitive to eggs. Hopefully there will be some changes to do this.
Overall ok- if you don't mind paying the monthly fees after original purchase
The app is well designed and runs smoothly, you pay to purchase the app $5 and then to get the full features of the app you have to sign up to pay monthly or annual fee. Bit of a joke to pay and then have to pay again every month.
Really good app until you find out the micro transaction flaw...
This app is great. Has everything in one convenient spot and allows you to plan and prep food with ease. However having already paid a set price for the app I'm really disappointed to find out that to be able to use a 7 day functionality of meal prepping I have to pay a monthly membership price to upgrade to the pro version... Well what's the point in having a set price for the app if you're then going to basically tell me I haven't bought the full version. I wouldn't go into a gym to pay the membership price then be told you can't use that piece of equipment unless you pay for the pro membership. Like I said all was going well until the micro transaction trap hits you. I'll continue to enjoy the app but still feel let down.
Adhd problems
When ever i creep Into my old habits of eat cheaper and blander food and then my energy tanks. I rely on this app to pull me out. Ever recipe has been a hit. I can’t wait to try them. I have food allergies so I have to modify many recipes. But I have used this app for years. The creator has a heart and I feel his passion. His organization helps my adhd and anxiety about food shopping and planning. I usually make meals to big and done eat then all. (Food waist 👀👀) but he has it so you can make the meals smaller which helps me. Now I just need an extra hour in the day to cook. I tend to cook on weekends and freeze so I am glad that they talk about it. There is no way I can cook during the week for myself. So grateful for this app. 💗💗💗💗
What a joke
I paid £2.49 for this and now they want you to pay a subscription fee to be able to use basic functionality. Screw that. Nice idea turned into money grabbing. Don't waste your time or money
Not a good option for vegans
The app is great and all, but I'm vegan and when it makes me a meal plan for three weeks, it includes a lot of non vegan dishes. And seems like editing these plans is part of the pro subscription. Really upsetting
Making me pay for a new feature when I already bought the app??
This is a good app and has lots of good food in it and with the new update that added a meal planner to make things even easier I though YEW!! That's awesome then when I tried doing it I can only add 6 meals for the entire week before it wants me to pay a monthly fee to add more!! That's bull I already bought the app now they do this. Who only eats 6 meals in the entire week. Step up your game guys if this was fixed would be 5 stars
Shopping List
I love the shopping list feature; but it's showing me items such as 12 eggs & 13 egg whites. I have to go back through the recipes and make sure I need 25 eggs and not just the 13 eggs. Also showing things like 3 tbsp of coconut sugar then further down the list showing 1 tbsp of coconut sugar. It would be good if this was a totalled figure
Get this app and you’ll have zero excuses to eat healthy
I’ve had this app for 10 years. It’s freaking awesome. It’s super helpful because I’m visual learner and the videos are perfect. I love Kevin’s humor, how he makes it simple to eat healthy and such a wide variety of food choices. Thanks Kevin!!
Do not recommend
The base program is not worth the £2.49. Any basic configuration requires you to go "pro" and pay even more money monthly... no option to set how many meals por day or change macro nutrients.
1 Issue
I originally rated 5 stars but I’m reducing to 4 after encountering this issue in more and more recipes. Why on earth does it give measurements in g, or oz, and not cups, or tbsp? How many people are measuring out 94g of almond flour or 1.2 oz of mushrooms instead of measuring it in a measuring cup?

Some good recipes in there but I hope more will be added. A few with hard to find ingredients and lack of metric is annoying.
